David ornstein saying that Sanchez looks like staying after being offered a new big deal. Hope he's right.

Apparently, Ornstein is normally spot on.

He also thinks Man City will pounce.

The BBC gossip collum is reporting Bayern and City want Sanchez Everton West ham want Giroud Barcelona are pushing for Belerin and Ox is going to run his contract down and move on a free next summer if we won't sell him this summer?
The good news is we are preparing a world record £125 million bid for Mbappe :-)
A large sack of salt needed with that lot I think.

I know that Sanchez was our best player but was he best for our team? Reading what Keown has to say about him - he's a pain in the arse and disruptive. Still hope we keep him but if he goes. .

Surely we can improve our squad as Sanchez is not the winger or striker that I want. I don't think he plays central enough, drops too deep and is not clinical. As a winger - he's not really a winger.

He's a winner, can turn a game on its head and do many special things BUT if we replaced him with Lacazette then surely that's an upgrade as a striker then Lemar is surely an upgrade out wide.

Then we put Mahrez in the other wing and we are surely far better off.

I stopped reading when you said Sanchez is not clinical.

Who you trying to kid SY4?

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Jul 2017 21:48:17
Love or hate his stroppy temperament, he's a born winner and will be a massive loss to us. especially his non clinical finishing lol.

When he goes to City, would still be massively happy if we spent the money on Lemar, Lacazette and Mahrez.

Sy I can't disagree more. i'm sorry you speak with fork tongue.

Not arguing he's a winner but he's not as deadly as Aguero in front of goal - do you really think he is?

Agree1 Disagree2

01 Jul 2017 22:56:07
Sanchez doesn't drop way to deep to get the ball when he should be up front?

I am not slagging him off and know he was our best player but the team could and may need to come out stronger without him - simple. I believe we can.

Who would you rather have on the left wing - Overmars or Sanchez. Who would you rather have up front Henry or Sanchez? That's my point as Overmars and Henry all day. Pires and Henry all day.

SY4,
Aguero is an out and out striker.

Sanchez plays right and upfront.

{Ed001's Note - how is Sanchez a pain in the arse anyway? Keown was a much bigger pain in the arse than Sanchez ever was, but obviously he forgets that. Sanchez wants to win and is unhappy if he doesn't and his attitude problems are not about him being a problem, they are about his team mates not working hard enough. If the other players put in the effort in training and on the pitch, then, not only would he be happy, but you would be winning trophies. It is not his attitude that is the problem at Arsenal. If you want to find the attitude problems, I would start with Wilshire, Walcott etc.}

02 Jul 2017 00:32:21
SY mate you have no chance of convincing anyone with a brain mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 01:55:43
I would love Overmars, Henry, Viera, Bergcamp, and a host of others, but the're not an option.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - all of them were considered to have attitude problems when playing in teams similar to the modern day Arsenal, by the way.}

02 Jul 2017 12:26:21
Dags - that's my point an Aguero would be an upgrade on Sanchez as a striker - which he has played this season.

Sanchez - Lacazette front two sounds good also We need a better striker up front to make better runs, stats up front, killer in front of goal and give Ozil more options.

I like:

Lacazette Mbappe

K Granit Ozil Ox Bellerin

Kos Mustafi Holding

Cech.

I have been thinking about our lack of activity, notwithstanding the apparent bid for Lemar. I've come to the conclusion that Wenger, our new sporting director, is waiting. Patiently. That's ok because patience is a virtue.

What is he waiting for, you ask? Sanchez to announce his decision. That's the only thing that makes sense. Which, for me, is totally unacceptable. If he doesn't want to ply for us, sell him. If he doesn't like Arsene's funny jacket, sell him. To City, to China, whatever (someone in the CSL would surely pay £50M for him) . And then, move on.

You want to buy? Buy. Lemar. Lacazette. Whomever. Buy and be done with it. Club representatives should have marching orders. First offer £X, second offer £Y, final offer. No deal? Move on to the next identified target. Surely we have a list of targets and prices we'll pay, right.?

Our squad is thin and we have a lot of contract issues. Definitive action needs to be taken. Separate the wheat from the chaff, sell and buy, or buy and sell. Right now, were being left behind and rather than catching up with City and Chelsea and even Spurs, I frankly think we should be looking over our shoulder at Everton, because as it stands, we're not challenging for the top.

A slight rant, but surely not too much to ask. I'd scrap it al and accept the status quol if Jack could come back, stay healthy, have a stellar season and be captain.

Maybe he was waiting for the transfer window to open.

It is almost cringeworthy listening to some of our fans and transfers, no wonder Arsenal fans get so much stick.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 03:01:22
Like everyone else waited for the window to open? there's no point waiting for Sanchez to make his mind up, him deciding to do one and having no time left to get a replacement.

Is it me or does Arsenal's transfer policy fail to excite us?
It seems that by the time we actually sign a player we've been linked with for ever it's like they are not even a new signing.
What's happened to the days when you picked up the paper and on the back page we had made a major signing no-one was expecting? Gone I guess but hopefully not for good, please find us a transfer guru who can bring back the excitement of the transfer window.
David Dein anyone?
SG.

I think your thinking of goetze mate and if so I agree. The player I'm on about played 40 games for club last year and has played between 30-40 games every year for the past five with the exception of on injury in 2014.

bayern bound next summer.

01 Jul 2017 19:05:07
That's exactly what will happen. Another player who you can see his quality straight away. He must surely be within our scope of potential players but he will have another great season next year then off to Bayern and forever out of our grasp.

01 Jul 2017 22:37:45
out of contract next summer, apparently already sounded him out.
