Hearing rumours from France about negotiations having been started for m'bappe? I'm sure they are being exaggerated but l'equippe is reporting an offer of around £100m . any reply on this would be much appreciated.

doubt it's true but if so i feel it's just another "well, we tried! " bid in order to make wenger look ambitious.

I remember the day my wife met my mum for the very first time. I said to my wife, "Now remember, my mum is old, so speak nice and slow and very loud. "

I said to my perfectly capable mum, "By the way, my wife is ever so slightly slow. "

What a fun day that was .

Don't be daft SLB, they all wear burqas and look the same to my mum. Also saves me having to change the picture on my office desk every time there's a new wife.

Lol. There's a fantastic burqa restaurant near me. The guys in there are great and it's granted they are small but I doubt your wives are strong enough to wear one 😂.

How about Sanchez and Ozil out for £80m and a, "saving" of £35m per year in salaries, and that bloke from Real Madrid, whossisface, in.

I know he's been injured, is debatable whether or not he's a first teamer now and had a sad part, made to play in a very poor second rate club, but that Gareth Bale has a few years left in him, doesn't he?

He's real's wilshire.

Only 80m got to ask atleast 60/ 70 for Sanchez and easy 30 for ozil.

01 Jun 2017 19:47:44
You can ask for a billion each of you like but we will only get what someone is prepared to pay.
They are under contract for another year but there would be little point in Holding them to it as if they had to stay against their will they'd hardly be motivated.
80 million would be a good price meaning we showed a profit plus had 7 years service from them.

Jelfy 60/ 70 million for Sanchez with 3 years on contract yes! With one year it's not going to happen.

Eds, I just want to say thank you for your solid work especially on the arsene situation because it was a very hot and sensitive topic but you got it spot on, especially you ed002 so thank you for your fine work, i don't think we appreciate you as much as we should.

Now eds, now that arsene is staying do you think things will change at the club such as the wage structure? Also with arsene staying will alexis and ozil stay? And lastly has any names been added or removed from the transfer list of targets? Because we all know lacazette is moving elsewhere and now all of a sudden mahrez is available.

And finally, only if you know the answer, is Eddie Howe the manager they want to replace arsene with in 2 years time?

Again thank you for your hard work eds! :)

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any immediate changes, but the club do need to be careful about approaches to other managers through third parties - as they did in recent months with three individuals. I don't think the AW situation will have an impact on whether or not the players agree new contracts.}

01 Jun 2017 16:04:32
Heartily agree with your note for the Eds, Ibraim. Esp being Stateside, it's good to know I can come here and separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak, with regards to transfer activity for dear Arsenal.
Following on with a question for Ed002 regarding sharkopod, may we anticipate any new podcast (s) now that the close season is open/ pending? Or do you generally only podcast when there is sufficient new information to warrant the time?
Thanks again so much Eds for your time and work in maintaining this community.

{Ed002's Note - I am travelling most of June.}

Some of the players I'd like to see come in during the summer. Obviously we can't get all of them but even just a few would be a major statement of intent. Some players obviously play in the same position so don't say things like, "why do we need 4 strikers? "

Kingsley Coman
Danilo Pereira
Aymeric Laporte
Ruben Neves
Kostas Manolas
Gaya
Thomas Lemar
Jordan Pickford
Ousmane Dembele
Alexandre Lacazette
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Gonzalo Higuain
Paulo Dybala
Gabriel Barbosa

Let's see your lists lads.

(ST) Lacazette, Morata; (LW/ RW) Onyekuru, Balde Keita Diao; (CAM - if Ozil leaves) Emil Forsberg, Isco; (CM) Tolisso, Naby Keita - can also play CAM; (CDM) Danilo Periera, Fabinho - can also play RB; (RB) Sidibe; (LB) Kolasinac; (GK) Bring Szczesny back from Roma

1 of each and I'd be pretty content - if Sanchez leaves ideally 2 wingers - Walcott is an impact sub for me.

Its a shame that Reus is injured as i really would like to see him play in the premiership, and i think he is the perfect replacement for Sanchez. My knowledge across europe is not great, but assuming we still play 3 CD's next year would like to seee us sign Van Dijk. Also add a big central midfielder, perhaps William Carvahlo, and a top striker, Morata or lacaztte would be good.

Longer term, a younger keeper to replace Cech, Butland would be my choice. Finally i would like to see us stop sending our youngsters out on loan, which appears to make no difference whatsoever. Therefore i would like to see Rene- Adelaide, Maitland- Niles and Jack Crowley actually feature for us next year, rather than playing/ training/ learning at a lesser club with inferior facilities.

Adams, keown, veira, petit, pires, berkamp might have a chance at the league with these few.

Is lacaztte deal 100% done or is it fallen apart as they have been banned.

with Athletico transfer Ban being upheld perhaps we can try and negotiate for Lacazette?

or maybe they will sign him in january. who knows.

I'd think we've missed our chance to sign Lacazette.

Not entirely sure what impact missing out on Champs League will have on other players desire to join though. One of the Eds mentioned Arsene still being interested in Morata, so maybe he'll become our 1st choice striker.

I'd like to think with the amount of players likely to leave that transfer fees, wages and squad places won't be an issue when it comes to recruitment.

Anybody have any idea what the plan for Reine-Adelaide is next year?

I'm not saying Theo is the solution to all our problems but if you look at his performances, 37 appearances (29 starts + 8 Substitute) he has totalled 19 goals. This represents 0.51 goals per game. Sanchez meanwhile has achieved 0.58 goals per game based on 51 appearances and 30 goals.

I appreciate statistics like this don't paint the whole picture but I think it's important to realise there has to be a point where enough is enough. I think the money Sanchez (and Ozil) are holding out for is nothing short of greed and the club and the fans are being held to ransom. I genuinely believe money can be better spent than giving these two astronomical contracts.

The problem is 83 what other reason can we offer them to stay?
They have options who can offer money and much more while we don't really have anything other than money to offer right now.
Personally I'd let them go on friendly terms and thank them for thier service and accept the situation for what it is.
Let the players go who don't want to be here plus those who simply haven't been able to deliver on a regular basis and start again with what's Lett.
Totenham didn't sign a host of star names they built a team around the best of what they had after losing Bale and Modric who were just as big as loss as Mesut and Sanchez, we shouldn't be to proud to learn from anyone else even Spurs imo.
In fact the similarity between us now and Spurs then is uncanny, no champions league football to offer and best players leaving, let's learn from where they went wrong and also from what Poch has got so right.

we don't sell players for 100 mill, we will wait till the last week of the transfer window and sell one or both for the fee 70-80 mill. and sign some youngster who will be good in 2 years time fail to build a team around him and repeat that story again. we did not build around cesc and rvp now ozil and sanchez, I've seen groundhog day. good movie. just too repetetive.

01 Jun 2017 11:11:42
Agreed completely 62. I think when you have players like Ozil and Sanchez they demand the ball so when you have a coach as one dimensional as arsene and two players who you know are going to be getting the ball, it becomes very easy for opposing players. A better balanced team of players who want to be there and want to play for the shirt would be interesting! Ramsey or Ox at No10 would be worth a look.

Also can't help but feel Lucas Perez is worth another season, give him some game time. Every time he's played he's delivered!

I never understood the Perez signing it looked and still does look like a desperation signing but having said that He's here now and the lad has done ok so I see no benefit in taking a loss on him without giving every chance first, imo the signing was our mistake not his so we owe him a chance.
