Am I the only one who thinks we can win the league this season? We were close last year and we have a better keeper now. We just need an injury free season. Why is everyone so pessimistic. If we sack wenger now, we r only going back 3 or 4 years. He said already many times, we'll buy only if genuine world class players become available. PSG and Real Madrid r one of the richest clubs in the world, they don't sell if they don't want to so how do you expect him to get them. The only players as good as them r in Bayern, City n Barca!

If you think we were close last year then by that thinking yes win can win the league this year, maybe even La Liga too!

Wanyama would have improved us.

So too Schneiderlin and Van Dijk and Charlie Austin and Sissoko and Carvalho and Lacazette, to name but a few.

Im sure you aren't the only one, but i think you lost my support for your post when you said we were close last year. We were bloody miles away. We again failed to show ambition this window and are the only team in europe not to sign an outfield player. I must say i like your positive attitude but you are too optimistic for me. Lol

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Sep 2015 01:01:10
Personally I think City will win the league and have done since before a ball was kicked, but I certainly don't think our squad is any worse than chelsea or uniteds.

London George. We finished behind city who have signed excellently. No chance of finishing above city mate

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Sep 2015 12:24:43
I disagree that City have bought excellently. £54m for De Bruyne? No thanks. He isn't an improvement on Silva. Sterling, good player but they have overpaid massively for him. Delph? Put him in our squad and he's going to be about 8th choice in central midfield. They have made an excellent start, but their best performers, I.e Kolarov, Toure, Aguero, Silva were already at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Sep 2015 13:13:44
ubi/ de bruyne assisted to most goals in europe last year. he's an improvement from navas and he will surprise you.

aguero giroud
sterling silva kdb alexis ozil ramsey

i know which four i would take.

nasri nasas bony to come in too.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Sep 2015 13:21:57
We had one of the worst injury hit season for the first half last season. Second half, we were as good as anybody. Retained the FA cup, defeated city, Won against mourinho for the first time this preseason. We have the best midfield in the league. Have faith guys, we'll only improve as the season goes, not the time to be so pessimistic.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Sep 2015 13:45:31
I've said I don't think City have bought excellently. Simply naming players in their squad won't change my mind. If you think De Bruyne is a good buy at 54m then good luck to you. I am not sure why you are comparing him to Navas, they are totally different players and I don't see De Bruyne playing from the right.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Sep 2015 17:16:06
Ubi he has played on the wing before. But the three behind aguero will be Silva sterling and kdb 100percent. Not sure what positions but they will all play mate.

I presume the success of the team depends on Wenger. Despite having been disgruntled with no striker signing, i'll still be a fan all my life. He Wenger knows what he is up against this season, knows what he wants and has worked with these players for long. This time around he craves to win the league. Predicably he knows he can do so with this squad. We should get behind him and the team. All these rants are pointless as it doesn't effect any change.
Lets just hope it's our season. We've played four games, 34 more to go. Would be happy if we find our connections and sharpness back.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

01 Sep 2015 23:38:40
Willy I have no doubt we can challenge for the league. A lot of factors must swing for us but yeah this team can win the league. But wenger has been niave because if he bought a striker he could afford not to win the league. The signings would have been his insurance policy. But he's gone all in on a decent hand but not a royal flush .

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Sep 2015 23:04:21
Wenger is an experinced manager, but the way he deals with the transfer market is shocking. A club like Arsenal shouldn't be looking for transfers in the last hours of the window.

I get it when he says he is looking to buy exceptional talent but why wait so long to get in transfers.

If he wanted Benzema then he shouldve bidded in July if they reject the bid then move on and look to bring someone else in. It seems to me he's willing to wait for his plan A and he doesn't care if he misses out on other targets. i'm pretty sure that Benzema wasnt the only CF on his list but when he couldn't get him all his other targets have moved on. Now we are looking at the bottom of the barrel and hoping we find something.

This window has been the most depressing in years. We have a good squad and we can go out there and take some risks in the transfer market. We don't have any glaring holes in our squad, we just need 1 or 2 players to compliment the players we already have.

The most annoying thing about being an Arsenal fan is we see this fantastic club with lots of potential. But that potential needs to be unlocked. Just always feel we are the nearly men. If Arsenal was a football player it would be Theo Walcott. Brilliant on thier day but something is just missing.

After we sold Kolo for me it felt like an end of era. The last of the Invinsible was gone and i remember thinking will we ever reach the top again. The years that have followed since has been painful. And we keep making the same mistakes over and over again. The Invinsibles was a one off and now we are the nearly men.

Still can't believe we didn't try to grab Charlie Austin.

Proper "in the box" striker.

18 goals for relegated QPR last season, would have got us the same, even playing 2nd fiddle to Olly.

Not worth £15m?
He is considering Utd paid £36m for some 19 year old.

The wages and years we wasted on players like bendtner and Diaby and he can't bring himself to take a risk (not that I thought it was) on a player whose strike rate has been consistently good in whatever league he's played in

We have no trouble creating chances, we need someone whose better at putting them away

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Sep 2015 22:30:09
Sorry guys,

I was wrong about Benzema and Cavani.

We are all disappointed with the window.

We all know what we need and want. But, we have to remain positive and upbeat.

Player for player, we are a match for anybody in the prem (bar Aguero).

This is the strongest squad we have ever had.
2 players for every position, and good players et al.

City will be the team to beat but they always have a blip.

Chelsea are Champs, but Terry looks like a spent force, Diego Costa is one tackle away from a 2 month lay off and other teams don't fear them anymore.

If we can keep our injuries at a manageable level, we could be in with a shout.

I know Olly is not everybody's cuppa, but he scored 18 last season, despite missing 3 months.

Keep the faith boys.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Sep 2015 23:08:25
That's the problem Dags, we keep 'keeping the faith' when maybe that's the problem, we keep putting our faith in a Management and board that are happy to be the best of the rest rather than build on a good team and be the best we can be

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Sep 2015 23:09:32
Dags you honestly believe aguero is the only difference between us and them?

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Sep 2015 23:17:41
Dags i applaud your rousing and positiveness, i just think it is just more fuel for the fire today. Its not about signings, its about arsene making a statement. Personally i can't see him backing it up. I also think today he has put us back two years. But he knows better than me. If he doesn't he's in for a rough ride.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Sep 2015 22:58:24
Dags you talk a good game mate and I'd love to say to you in May how right you were all those months ago and who knows maybe I will but confidence in the clubs ambition is very low mate and like anything else if you don't really want it and go the extra mile your unlikely to ever be the best of the best.

Derby,

I don't see too much difference between us and City, they only finished 4 points above us last season.
Of course, time will tell as they have just spent £150m. But, maybe their new boys won't integrate.

Fingers crossed G62.

Hope you are correct Sligo.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Sep 2015 22:20:26
Today is probably the beginning of the end for wenger. The squad we have is as good as we've had for a few years but it has holes and they needed plugging. Wenger has said to everyone we stick with what we have because i arsene wenger know i am right, i know my job and i'm the one who calls the shots and spends or not spends the cash, that we have piled up. There is nobody out there who could have made us better. We are going to challenge on all fronts and i am happy that we are as good as everyone else and i'm the man. Well something like that anyway, the problem he has is he has probably pi55ed off more people today than he realises and their patience is waring thin. He has forgot (!old age) the disatifaction after last years vlla game and if he is even slightly wrong in his judgement he will get no leway from media pundits and fans and i think the pressure will mount quite quickly. Unless he is right of course and he did know what he was doing after all.

01 Sep 2015 23:19:21
How different would things be tonight if we'd signed Jackson Martinez before Athletico instead of banking on Real giving us Benzema at a knock down price to fund a replacement.
I'm not even sure we ever thought Benzema was possible but he was a very handy smoke screen to cover up lack of ambition.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Sep 2015 22:49:15
You are correct Steve, but he will never pi55 the board off.

The board are major investors and Wenger makes money, than stockpiles it, ensuring higher dividends for the board.

Arsene has a job for life.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Sep 2015 22:57:28

The fans at the emirates have a massive voice ( i know its called the library) and they pay a lot of money and if it goes slightly wrong they will show their disatifaction and it won't go away this time, its stinks of arrogance just like derby said and wenger and his cronies better get it 100% right.

Failing we some how actually mount a real challenge some how this season which does look very unlikely in our ong term best interests might be to finish 3rd in the champions league group and 5th in the league.
I know I can hear you all already but then how would we attract top players :-) er prety much how we do now.
But a good dose of Thursday football for a couple of seasons as much as it would hurt short term would bring about change that currently looks out of sight while Arsene has the control pad.

Ok we're all upset, some are angry and no doubt a few are currently sitting in the corner rocking back and forth mumbling to themselves... but it's not quite as bad as some make out.

So here's the thing, if you could create a team using the best 11 players currently in the prem how many would be from Arsenal? How many would be from teams other than last years top 4?

Using a 4-2-3-1 since it's by far the most popular formation for top sides name your prem 11.

Ok

Emotions taken out of it .

I am sure we all agree , Mr Wenger has done a very good job , he has got us into a fantastic stadium and finacially we are in a very good position ( remember that )

It is no good the pro Wenger camp saying look what he won us , that means nothing now and he hasn't progressed us ( on the pitch ) . I'm afraid it is all about the here and now and the future and currently we aren't going to compete , and that can't be argued.

Only Arsene knows why he didn't want to spend but most of the footballing world ( in the UK ) are amazed he didn't spend. I don't think he had any intention to be honest.

We have a very good squad at Arsenal but it is short of really comepeting in the PL ( winning it I mean ) and very very short of doing anything in the CL.

Let's hope we keep the lads off the treatment table .....................of course what we don't know is , has Arsene got something up his sleeve for January? time will tell.

Looking forward Arteta and Rosicky will surely have to be moved on next summer so signings in midfield will have to be made???

Believable1 Unbelievable0

01 Sep 2015 22:36:33
I'd be thrilled with Carvalho and Higuain in January. Higuain > Benzema for me.

Obviously Carvalho will be attainable in January but will Higuain be? Surely if Napoli were prepared to sell at a price Wenger would be of been prepared to pay we'd of made more noise about signing him this window

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Sep 2015 23:32:50
Think il sit tight for January if that's the case

No point spending it for the sake of it...you want to get the perfect players for your team, wenger knows what he wants so just let the man do his job.

Those two signings right there could complete us for a few years, what's 4 more months after the years we had to wait whilst the stadium was being constructed.

Just a shame William C got injured otherwise we probably would have seen him come in in this window, was it Higuain's price tag that meant us not proceeding to sign him ed? Just curious to see what would be the difference come January in that respect :)

What a gesture it would be after not spending the amounts banded around that we have in our accounts, That Arsenal reduce ticket prices for the year.
Fans want signings and if Arsenal don't spend the fans money on transfers then we want cheaper tickets.
Wouldn't that go a long way to appeasing the disgruntled fans.
Firm believer Giroud won't win us the league. But i prefer to keep him than take a another forward on loan like Kokorin just to keep people happy that we signed someone.

01 Sep 2015 19:40:43
Ok my take on the transfer window.

Arsenal take our money and charge us the highest prices in the world. If we are not spending that money on building a team to match the prices and be the best in the world then where is it going?

The stadium is at least well ahead of the payments and is no longer draining our resources. 9 years ago we were told the move from Highbury would provide us with the cash to compete for the best players in the world. Over the last 2 years we have bought 2 world class players so we can afford them but we won't pay for them

Wenger, gazidis and kroenke should be delivering but as a group they are just too tight

Kroenke is also wengers boss so he should be demanding that we compete for the biggest of trophies

Players are available, they have their price but our owners and manager think they will get top notch players for 1998 prices and they need to wake up

Ultimately Wenger, gazidis and kroenke have stated in practical terms thEy think this team is good enough to make up 15 points on the teams that finished above us and win the league and/or to go beyond the round of 16 to the cl final
If he fails to do at least one of those things then he kroenke and gazidis must all go at the end of this season

Believable2 Unbelievable0

01 Sep 2015 19:56:47
Also, we won't pay today's prices and with the TV money they will only be higher and we will be even less likely to pay

The future looks increasingly bleak with this regime in place and whilst I 100% support the call for the reduction in prices it is never going to happen because this lot are only interested in money and they see supporters as a source of income to be squeezed for everything try can get whilst giving as little as possible in return

“So another frustrating transfer window shuts with Arsenal sitting on huge financial resources despite there being a widely held view squad additions were needed. The AST would like the club to review its scouting and playing purchasing arrangements. If they believe all is well they should reflect on what the point is of a football club. If Arsenal run for the benefit of supporters – why does the Club sit on huge cash piles year after year? Whether it needs to be spent on the team is a matter of opinion. If the opinion of the manager is that it doesn’t, and the board back him, so be it. However, give the money back to the supporters in lower ticket prices and other benefits”.

They will resist and try to frighten the weak with tales of Sanchez will have to be sold but only by denying the club what values most will anything change,
Dont spend as much don't buy shirts ect economise on what you give the club and step it up slowly but surely until things do change and they will but only if people make it happen.

Around Copa América's time, there was some talking here in Chile about Alexis and Vidal wanting to play toghether in the same team. Now i'm concerned that this could happen any time soon in Bayern Muchen.
Also, what could be thinking Özil right now about the stats of his assitances wasted for our attacking force?
I can understand the difficults for Arsene to getting the players he want, and I can agree over not to buy for the sake of it; but looking at the big picture of our recently history once again we had the chance to take the team to the next level but at the end seems like another big moment wasted. How many of that can we count already?
Even after the invencible's times, we failed to secure the ultimate jackpot loosing in UCL. It's seems like we always lack of that final consolidation moment.
This is not a "Wenger out" statement. I can dimesion all the magnitude of Arsene's work and as fan i'm very gratefull for it; but I wonder where is the limit of what he can do for the club in this moment.
No doubt he is the man who has build this institution and keep us on the map all this years, but now we may be on the edge of another moment of our history and I can't tell if the man who brought us here is the same man needed to respond at final crucial moments in order to be on the world class team´s league.
I don't have a clear answer to it.
Very disapointed righ now, but hopping we can do our very best anyway.

My thoughts are that when AW talks about improving the squad/quality he's looking at qualifying for CL - not the championship. Untying the purse strings is relative to his judgment on winning the championshp/CL - he may have felt buying Benzema was justified but the other strikers he looked at - not so much.

I have been an avid reader of this site for at least 2 years now and it never seizes to amaze me the amount of pessimism on this site.

I know there is a Wenger out camp and always will be until the day he leaves and one I will never agree with, but I am still fine with that. However, I definitely don't agree that this transfer window is another argument for this cause.

I believe we needed someone better than Giroud or Theo and I believe we needed another DM for at least back up.

But as we can see there just isn't the required quality available that would improve us for a realistic price. £36mil+ for a 19 year old striker that we really don't know much about and has very little experience would have been the alternative as there were clearly no other options. In my opinion that would not be worth it. Obviously I can get proven wrong on that front if he is suddenly amazing, but I think quite a lot will agree he was not the answer to our problems.

I do believe our squad is good enough to compete, clearly so does Wenger. Although to be fair City's team is looking scary good.

Anyway, opinion, slate as you will blah blah

Believable4 Unbelievable0

United always have there pants pulled down. The price depends on who's asking or who has already asked. Selling clubs make out other big clubs have enquired to price bump. If there was no other team in for martial and we wanted him we would pay 20million tops

So you mean to tell me that none of these strikers are an improvement on Giroud:

- Dzeko
- Bacca
- J. Martinez

All moved teams are all were within our budget. Don't even get me started on the "inability" to upgrade on Flamini, Arteta, and Rosicky.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Sep 2015 19:33:53
Mate, United might have overpaid, but at least their 36 million pounds will score goals for them, ours is gaining 1.2% interest in the bank.

And it will be worth even less with inflation next year when the Premiership money goes up again and player values will be even higher.

Gross negligence across the board. Don't be surprised if Sanchez hands in a transfer request next summer when we come 4th again and tumble out of the Champions League in the Round of 16 yet again.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Sep 2015 19:52:32
Yes, I think Bacca and Martinez are probably better than giroud, although both at 28+ unproven in the prem. City would probably not sell us dzeko anyway. All I am saying is that it isn't as simple as just having the money. I am sure there a wealth of reasons why a player might not be right for a club and a deal might not be pull off. I trust wenger to judge that kind of talent.

And yes I do believe there are players that are better back ups compared to Flamini or Arteta (Rosicky isn't a DM so don't know why that's relevant) but not someone good enough that will get into the first team unless le Coq is injured. Carvalho might be that man. And if we sign a filler player in the mean time, that rules out the signing of a quality DM in the near future.

Because no other team in world football has cohesion, it's special to Arsenal.

May be a silver lining, if (and when) we're out of the title race by the New Year, hopefully more of the fans will wake up to the fact that the main priority at Arsenal FC is not winning trophies, once you grasp and accept that, it all becomes easier.

Of course I respect the badge, but not the current regime.

As Redknapp has said ,,,,,,,every pound note is a prisoner to Wenger , he has to remember the money isn't his.

People who are happy with Wenger are clearly the ones's happy with 3rd or 4th every year.

We need to compete and there is no way on this earth we can do that .

I would have been happy with Schderjghwjbderlin :) from Southampton but we didn't want to pay the price........bloody ridiculous

You're so full of guff. To even use a redknapp quote is just a joke. Every team he's managed apart from Tottenham has ended up skint.

Abd on the other thing, even a broken clock is right twice a day. I bet you were moaning when we signed santos and park. Would it have been a good idea to do that today?

If the right player isn't available a good manager won't spend the money. Schneiderlin? Isn't a dm. We have many players who play box to box. Wiltshere Ramsey and cazorla to start with.

Use your brain. Your opinions on wenger are well known. But that doesn't excuse down right rubbish

Agree2 Disagree1

01 Sep 2015 19:02:44
I do agree with you in parts Banbury. I like wenger but I'm not happy with him this window. And although the money isn't his like in any company if an employee makes them a shed load of cash they get rewarded and he has been rewarded. The problem is wenger likes the whole idea of total success from the bank to the pitch. If for example he spent 150 million and won the league it would be bitter sweet for him. But I'm a fan and I want trophies and I know we could have bought someone. Henry just said we get will never pay over what he believes a player is worth but the problem is selling clubs know that other clubs will pay it so why would they sell to us. If a team can get the price what they are asking them that's the market price for that player wether wenger agrees or not

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Sep 2015 19:15:08

Looks like we're not getting anybody, little disappointed but glad we've not overspent massively on someone with "potential"

Anyway, personally i think our starting 11 is as strong as our rivals but we don't quite have the depth some of them do.

Cech
Bellerin Kos Gab Nacho
Ramsey Coq
Walcott Ozil alexis
Giroud

Gives us a good mix of pace and passing as well as 2 players who actively make runs into the box (walcott and ramsey).

We played our best football in the 2013-2014 season (in terms of recent years) and we've upgraded massively since then. Coq is an upgrade on arteta, bellerin is proving to be a great RB and alexis is an upgrade on having caz out wide.

If we can hit our stride then there's no reason we cannot challenge, but realistically city are miles ahead of everyone.

Yeah harsh as it is leaving Cazorla out it's really a case of him or Ozil, not both.

Ramsey proved against Newcastle that he offers fantastic movement going forward, something we sorely lack without walcott on a wing. Coq cannot be removed for obvious reasons either.

As much as we all slate Giroud for failing to hit the target when it's presented on a plate for him he does do one thing well, link up play. If we have Ramsey and Walcott running past him then we're playing to his strengths, as well as Ozil's.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Cech is as good as De Gea, Courtois and Hart. The only reason he lost his spot to Courtois was because Chelsea had to promise him he'd be first choice otherwise he'd of left and then they'd be in the same problem us and United have been in for the past decade... trying to find replacements for truly great keepers.

Bellerin is young and will still improve but he's showing he's capable of performing at this level. Ivanovic looks out of sorts andsagna is currently keeping zabaleta out of the city team.

Yes, Mert is a liability at the best of times but Kos is fantastic. Man city are clearly miles ahead in this department having Otamendi and Kompany but Kompany is injury prone and Mangala isn't exactly a replacement on the same level. Kos would still get in City's back four, United would jump at the chance to have him and Mourinho would probably take Mert at the rate they're going!

Sanchez would walk into any team in the prem, hell he'd walk into any team in the world not named Barcelona.
Ramsey is as good as anyone when he's played in the correct position with the right players around him.

If you had to make up the best 11 prem team players, using a 4-2-3-1 since it's the most popular formation, who would you pick?

I fail to understand a certain philosophy:

"If we fail to sign the players that we want, then we will wait until they are available in future windows"

I think that's a load of nonsense considering most fans think that we do not have the financial muscle to compete with the likes of Man U, Citeh and Chelsea. It does not matter when the world class strikers and DMFs become available, if we want to sign them, we will have to cough up the dough.
No team in their right mind would ever allow a class player to leave for less than what he is worth. Would we ever sell Sanchez off for 10mill? Never.

Whether it's this window or the next, we will have to part with big money to get the top players. That is a fact of life.

Personally, it is not the fact that we are not getting world class players. But rather just upgrades. Especially at CF. IS Giroud a top top class forward? Not at all. I believe he would struggle to get into the top ten EPL sides, let alone on the world market. Can we upgrade on him? Yes of course! Do we have to pay an arm and a leg for that upgrade? Not necessarily, an upgrade is not necessarily Benzema or Cavani. There are so many strikers in world football who I believe are more clinical than he is.

I love my team, but I am really struggling to see how we are more competetive now as compared to last season considering that our main opponents have gotten some upgrades/re-inforcements in. Chelsea will definitely improve, they won't be his bad for long.

Rant over. But if somehow we can secure a striker of quality and DMF upgrade or re-inforcement, we give ourself batter chance of competing.

Don't ever think that when and if the Benzemas and Cavani ever do become available, they will walk straight to us. The money boys will also be there trying to hijack any major deals we might attempt to pull off

I don't think they have Derby mate, the stadium will be full first match back and even if we get stuffed by Chelsea second game back will be full again the next match and even if it wasn't they've already got peoples money.
Its no big deal to the club how the fans feel either way protests will make people feel better for a short time and then they'll calm down and nothing will change as January and next summer its rinse and repeat time again.

We have money to spend to get us very good players , make no bones about it

I always love how people act like they think Wenger isn't trying to do what's best for the club. It's extraordinary. People here there and everywhere going on about how he should have signed this player and done this and that when they themselves have absolutely no knowledge of what's going on behind the scenes.

It's frustrating we haven't signed anyone - of course it is, but the simple fact of the matter is we are not as rich as Chelsea, City and United so it's always going to be difficult for us to sign world class players. In the past three years, we've been fortunate enough to sign three world class players so people seem to have developed the opinion that this is an extremely easy thing to do. But the simple fact of the matter is, these signings were all highly opportunistic: Ozil and Sanchez arrived because their clubs had signed players in their positions; and the Cech signing was a unique case. This wasn't the case with the (ridiculously large number of) players we've been linked recently. So can we all just relax and get behind the team we do have, please?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

01 Sep 2015 15:47:31
I do agree to a certain point with your post but not when it comes to Le Coq. We are a cruciate ligament tear away from not having in my opinion a vital position covered! Just from a good housekeeping point of view we need that position covered! Arteta is just not good enough for that role. A top striker would have been perfect but everyone seems to have struggled to buy one as they don't seem to be available unless for silly money ie £36m +. We failed to cover our centre backs last year and it cost us in the first part of the year. I think Le Coq`s understudy / improvement will come back to haunt us. We won't win the CL but if our current strikers fire we could come close to EPL. Still doesn't stop me feeling gutted we haven't signed a top striker though! Still time though :) COYG

01 Sep 2015 15:59:22
I never expected Benzema or Cavani but surely we couldve pushed the boat out for Lacazette or a Abuyemang. Even if it meant paying over the odds.

i really feel sorry for Giroud, all players go through bad patches. But Giroud is not allowed to have one just because he is the only true CF we have at thew club. He is always under huge amount of pressure and he has no support or anyone to back him up.

Walcott is not a CF, as soon as a team defends deep he is completely out of the game and he doesn't have the guile or craft to create chances for himself. Welbeck is slightly better option but with his injury and no pre season who knows when he will be 100%.

I kinder understand Wenger philosophy, not signing players for the sake of it. Look at Liverpool for an example but the team needed strengthening and the fact he left it so late in the transfer window was extremely amateurish. If he doesn't get his Plan A he doesn't have a plan B or C and then hopes something will turn up. For an experienced manager this inst good enough. He has to be more ruthless instead of begging around and picking up everyone crumbs.

We try to sign Higuain, didn't get him signed no one. Try to get Suarez didn't get him signed no one. Try to get Benzema didn't sign him got no one. Wenger knows we need a CF for years but we are still waiting..

People on here are absurd to say that all those who want Wenger out are not true Arsenal fans,Absolute ludicrous,I want Wenger to go,its not just this window where he and the club have failed.
We have waited about 8/9 years now for just 2 players, who could maybe bring us the league title.we clearly have the money, although not always been the case,to which Wenger deserves so much praise, cause mourinhio, furgurson or the like could not do.
Like many others i thought Wenger deserved a chance,he bought Ozil,Sanchez,Carzorla. This season we got Czech, pretty early,i think he would have got Carvolha? if he hadnt got injured, but there was Schnerdelin, wanayama, and the like,ok Coquelin is a fine prospect and has done amazing but he will not last and when it comes to playing the big teams the i'm afraid he's found wanting,he will end up like wilshire and all the other injured players we have,as he's going to play way too much.A Strike was needed as Giroud is simply noy good enough, dont get me wrong he's done well, but also fails against the big teams.I think a deal for Benzema could have been done if it wasnt for the board to not penny pinch,i guess they offered Real Madrid £25 million and a pound a week,When if they give them £45 million, straight out they would have bit our hands off.
We supporters pay the dearest seats in the world, and we deserve to be treated way better than this. Gary Neville was correct in calling Wenger arrogant.he most surely is.But i feel sorry for him this year as i feel IF we don't buy,the fans will be on he's case, and rightly so.He`s had he's chance and not delivered,he runs the club from top to bottom,so he takes the blame for me,not the board(sorry about spelling and such)

"It's better to burn out than to fade away"

I have always been a wenger devote and this anti wenger has been going on for the past 6 years. But those with good vision understands why that was but now! It's suicide because God forbid we ain't in contention in the last few games slowly but surely fans will one by one turn and the once hero will become public enemy. You don't have a club without the fans! We deserve respect the same respect we have given the club and some return on the ridiculous ticket prices we are paying. Cech wanted to stay in London and Arsenal were his preferred choice so Chelsea made it as easy as possible for that to happen, it was an offer Arsene could easily say no to and explain away.
Arsenal football clubs priority for success is not on the field of play that's plainly obvious now although to be fair it has been for some time now as long as we get into the champions league and keep that money coming in its job done as far as the club are concerned.
We may well achieve the clubs aims again and finish top 4 but in terms of ambition we're strictly 4th division.

I really like David Dein he was a genuine Arsenal fan too. If you watch the Arsene Wenger documentary that sky sports did a little while ago where David Dein explains the reason why he recruited AW, he comes across as a really sincere guy who genuinely loves the club and loves Arsene Wenger. When he left, Wenger offered to resign in support of him and I think it was a relationship that made Arsene Wenger perform at his best.

According to Ian Wright, David Dein 'goes into the dressing room after every single game, shakes every player by the hand and who knows all the youth team players'.

Thierry Henry also claimed that he felt it was time to leave Arsenal when Dein left.

We missed out on Schneiderlin because Wenger thinks Arteta can cover for Le Coq ......even Schweinsteiger would have done , god knows he was cheap enough.

It is baffling is it not , surely the board are saying something to Wenger or are they worried Arsene will sack them??
