Bargain of the season?

£4m for Charlie Austin.

£30m Falcao (possibly)
£28m Lukaku.
£16m Balotelli.
£16m Welbeck.

No brainer.

Doesn't seem long ago I was watching Charlie turn out for Hungerford town, playing along side a couple guys I used to work with, his career has definitely betters there's!

He deserves it, worked his balls off to prove himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 00:54:39
I said all summer we should by charlie austin! :-p

By the way has anyone else noticed that when the media describe a player as "no-nonsense" they actually mean "utter sh!t oaf masquerading as a footballer"

Agree0 Disagree0

One word

Michu

and I've ten more after that if you need it. Not taking away from a chap whose having the time of his life in the prem but he's on a streak. Streaks only last so long. And his might last a season but he's one lad that straight away I don;t believe can make the step up.

Two more words

Andy Caroll

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 07:56:30
Sheeny,

I think Charlie Austin is different. Gives 100% all the time and can score any type of goal, head, foot etc.

And Carroll is just crap.

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin did play for them last season Dag's. he's worth more than 4mill now.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 12:27:56
Derby,

I do believe you are correct.

Well done for spotting my deliberate mistake.

#blushblush.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 19:27:16
Would Austin even be in the team if Remy was there?

Dude is almost 26. I hope he enjoys his time the prem and all the best to the man but IMO he's not going to make the grade

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2014 21:28:45
Not really a rumour but I would like to see what the general opinion regarding Naingolan of Roma are? Is he Arsenal material and we do need his type!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Dec 2014 22:37:58
Seems to be decent.

Regular starter for Roma.
Centre/left mid, decent goals record.

Possibly too similar to what we have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Decent goals record! Its a no then. Goal stoppers only please goal getters we got

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 03:01:56
Gervinho is a regular for Roma dags

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 07:58:41
Sheeny,

Gervinho was pony for Arsenal, but I have seen Gervinho a few times now for Roma and he looks very good.

Horses for courses I guess.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 10:25:53
He is Ramsey but from Belgium.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 12:29:00
So he is Hercule Ramsey? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 19:36:57
Dags the Serie A is a brutal league. Juve would struggle for top 4 and after that they're top six would be mid table in the EPL

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2014 20:58:25
For tomorrow, I think I'm going with a 2-1 to Arsenal. Or at least I'm hoping.
What do you think/hope the score will be?
Joshuafish

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Dec 2014 21:30:11
0-2.

Sanchez and Giroud.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 10:00:19
Sanchez hat trick I think

Agree0 Disagree0

Welbeck will score today

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2014 19:29:55
So who do people expect to see starting in midfield tomorrow?

If Ox doesn't start then Cazorla may have to go next to Flamini, with Welbeck Alexis Giroud and one of Podolski/Campbell/Sanogo ahead. This would be pretty attacking though.

Otherwise we can put Coquelin or Chambers alongside Flamini which will be pretty defensive. OR give Zelalem a chance.

In all honesty I would give Zelalem a go. I think the team would be better balanced and he could rise to the occasion. Otherwise perhaps Chambers, given how many attacking midfielders Liverpool have.

If Ox doesn't start, who do people want to see?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

DIABY

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2014 20:57:09
Cazorla, Ox, Chambers, Welbeck.
Sanchez and Giroud.

Agree0 Disagree0

And who plays CB with Chambers in MF?

Debuchy will go back to right back.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2014 23:37:36
Good point G95.

Replace Chambers with Flamini.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 03:06:06
Absolutley not on Zel! I'm a big fan of his but this is a an absolute must 3points! Call him the fastest dog in a horse race, not a hope.

Just made my donation to the Eds chosen charity at the top of the page.
Anyone who is in a position to give whether its a £1 or £50 it doesn't matter its the thought that most deffinately matters most and a way to show our appreciation to all the Eds for their hard work in 2014, especially a Huge Massive Enormous Big Fat ever Increasing and Expanding Vast Thank you to Ed025 who without our page wouldn't be any where near as great.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Dec 2014 19:33:51
I thought you was going to say 'big fat ever increasing and expanding vast Ed025', lol.

On a more serious note, totally agree G62, Ed025 is the king of banter, top guy.

Ed002's knowledge of the financial side of football is encyclopaedic, amazing.

And Ed001 just seamlessly knits it all together.
Again, total respect for the guy(s).

Agree0 Disagree0

Easy to see why you got confused there Dags, but I wasn't refiring to his outrageous weight gain in 2014 or the increased profit's of every takeaway in Liverpool over the past year but although we consider him our Ed and a real Gooner he is in fact 1st and foremost an Everton man who we are very very lucky to have edit our page 90% plus of the time.
And he's funny too, makes ya wonder how he does it I guess Dags doesn't it? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - cheers G62, its nice to be appreciated..except for the alcoholic fat boy digs.. ;0

Ed I think we should both agree that in 2015 not to drink anymore but under no circumstances should we drink any less either we should both just carry on as we are, happy in our enormity :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have actually shed 2 stone in recent months G62, but im still a bit short for my weight...i should be 12ft 6in.. :)

20 Dec 2014 21:03:26
I heard Ed use to own a sweet shop.

One day a customer came in and said "can I have a KitKat Chunky".

So Ed got one and gave it to him, the customer angrily said, "No, can I have a KitKat, chunky".

One joking Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im putting 2 kit kat fingers up to you dags.. :)

Just a quick update on Oxlade Chamberlain,
He is most likely available for selection, and has been training with the team for the past two days.
Provided there are no further set backs, I would expect to see him starting/on the bench against Liverpool.

20 Dec 2014 11:48:22
Ok, who are the three posters voting that we will NOT beat liverpool?

Banbury? are you one?

Time for predictions I think:

It will be 2-0 to us, unless walcott plays then i'm going 3-0, welbeck to score first

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Oh forgot to say, after the second goal Brendon Rogers will lose the plot and attack AW, Arsene will use dark arts to defend him off, breaking both his thumbs and 'inch punching' him to the chest, this will cause Rogers to recieve treatment from the st johns ambulance and after the game he will challenge arsene to a game of pooh sticks to settle the argument.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2014 12:26:10
Ditto 2-0.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2014 16:35:31
It must be crazy in the 'world of 337' :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ima go for 3-1 to the Arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually NO 337

I will post a prediction tomorrow once I see who is available .

3-0 to us it won't be

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - is that because you are cautious BG..or because you are a miserable sod?.. :)

ED

why should I post a score that I don't believe will happen.

Just beggers belief.

still I guess if people keep posting 3-0 each week I am sure eventually it might be right eh

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - "always look on the bright side of life" BG...it could be 4-0 mate..

20 Dec 2014 18:09:13
I think we'd can hit them like they did us, so I'm gunner go 4-1

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2014 18:19:42
I didn't vote but I don't think we'll win. Def don't think it will be a clean sheet. We've lost 3 of our last 6 away games in the prem. We're only one game removed from stoke fiasco and the week before that we all thought we'd stuff United.

Scored draw from me

Agree0 Disagree0

ED

I notice you use the word could, that isn't a prediction then :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im not mystic meg you know mate.. :)

20 Dec 2014 10:41:06
Hi guys,

Ahead of sundays game with liverpool has anyone heard anything further on the ox or walcott. All the news sources just say they will be judged by a late fitness test. Did wenger mention anything at his press conference? Ed what do you reckon the chances are for wither of them playing. Thank you

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Dec 2014 11:14:12
Pretty much as you have, the Ox is a late test, Walcott has travelled and may feature.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2014 12:27:50
As above,

They may get some game time, depending how the result is going, me thinks.

19 Dec 2014 20:39:14
Ed001 we said a while back about posters doing something for charity across the pages as a thank you for all the Ed's work in 2014.
If we haven't left it to late can you and the many Eds please name a charity you would like people to donate to in the he name of the site.
Thank you

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - good memory there G62, I had completely forgotten about that until you brought it up. I had a think about it, I wanted to pick something that everyone could appreciate as a charity, so I thought why not Alder Hey Children's Hospital? It is personally relevant to me, as my little cousin is only here today due to the work they do. They are also a charity in need of the help, as most people tend to hear about Great Ormond Street and give the money to them instead.}

20 Dec 2014 08:17:00
Morning Ed01,

I just went on the Alder Hey web page and donated £20 using my Pay Pal account. Below is part of the receipt so you know I have.

Thanks for everything you guys do its a fantastic place to come a talk to you all and all the Arsenal boys.

Donation Amount:-£20.00 GBP

Purpose: Alder Hey Children's Charity
Date: 20 Dec 2014
Time: 08:07:29 GMT
Status: Completed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Thanks a bunch Red Dog. Did your parents name you after the Red Dog Saloon in Virginia City, Nevada - where hippiedom truly began?}

20 Dec 2014 08:36:41
Unfortunately not ed, the name relates to a bit of my own history, the saloon looks like a great place to go for Pizza, Beer and a band though. Have you had the pleasure?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - A number of times over the years.}

20 Dec 2014 08:39:24
Damn fine idea G62,

I shall do mine later once I finish work.

Also, well done Eds for choosing Alder Hey and well done Red Dog for getting the ball rolling.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - cheers Dags, I thought I would go with something that actually had meaning to me personally, so it was either that or Claire House, as I spent a few hours one night chatting with Claire's dad when he was fundraising to have the hospice built. One of those nights that you don't forget as he was such a genuinely nice guy. I thought I would save Claire House for next time though, when we have a bit more of an idea of how to organise things. I was thinking it would give me time to contact them and organise a proper fundraising effort for the next one.}

20 Dec 2014 09:04:35
Just donated £20 to Alder Hey Hospital.

Ref no 1072323286-6310.
Time 09.00 today.

Well done G62 and the Eds.

Great cause. Total respect to you.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much Dags, I really appreciate that. I will get Ed033 to put a message up across the sites at some point today regarding donations, with a donation link or button to make it easier for people.}

20 Dec 2014 09:12:41
Respect Ed.
Just been on Claire House website.

Any illness is so sad but when you see things like children's hospice's, its so sad.

No matter how much we moan and curse and wish for this and that, there are always people less fortunate than us.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is very sad. At the time I spoke to him it was just in the planning and my uncle was doing a world record attempt to raise money for it. My uncle broke the world record, which he still technically holds, even better Claire got her House, so it was win win. I just remember him saying about how there was nowhere for kids to go in the area at the time, so he decided to make sure no one else's child had to suffer alone.

So many people are broken by loss of loved ones, it was heartening to meet someone who used it to make himself stronger and as motivation to make the world a better place.}

Thanks Ed001 I will get on it this morning and like Red post when its done, will you be rolling it out across the pages? I'm sure there are lots of fans of the site on other pages who would like to show their thanks also and be happy to help support a very good cause.
PS everyone don't forget to gift aid your donation its worth another 25p in the pound to the charity so makes a big difference at no extra cost to you :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, Ed033 is going to set up a link across all the sites, fingers crossed it does make a difference.}

20 Dec 2014 09:32:03
Pleasure Ed.

And respect to your Uncle.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - thanks, just don't mention it to him, it took 101 hours for him to set the record, but he can talk about how he has a world record for thousands more!!}

20 Dec 2014 10:06:41
Lol Ed,

Out of interest, what was the world record?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it was actually something you would be well suited to never attempt your hand at, non-stop joke telling.}

20 Dec 2014 10:26:26
