Alexis’s imminent departure all but assured, even considering the opponents level it was a high-octane display.
We MUST MUST MUST extend Ozil and Wilshere. I consider them re-signing to be as critical as bringing in the much needed and repeatedly identified defensive additions and wing reinforcements.

I watch german football a lot over the years miki and abam are good when it's going well but they don't roll there sleeves up and blame everyone else if it goes wrong that's why I worry about these 2 sighings.

Good 3 points but dissapointed we didn't get 6 or 7 the way we started.
What did we learn today.1. There is life after sanchez.2. Please ozil sign.3. Please wilshere sign.4. Elneny isn't starting 11 player. plays players into trouble. dithers on the ball. 5. Too many left footers in side. need more balance.6.we still need a defensive mid. in 2nd half a better opposition would have hurt us more.7.if you play more direct at pace we can destroy teams still.8. The ozil wilshere pairing makes our team click. build a team around them.9. Monreal proved he is a full back not centre half. play players where they supposed to play.10.please wenger don't think this win is a new dawn. go out and spend on new players to make us stronger.

As I mentioned the other day regarding the Sanchez deal. I said someone was trying to steal an extra sausage and if reports are to be believed mikis camp are expecting some sort of compo from united.

That’s what I heard. But how does it differ from players that get sold on under contract all the time? Sanchez has 6 months left! Do we have to compensate that? Or is it down to players putting in transfer requests. I know that contracts can only be terminated under mutual consent or if either party has breached the contract in any way!

{Ed001's Note - depends on how he is asked to play. If you mean like Pirlo, though he would at least shadow opponents rather than just get out of their way like Pirlo did, then yes. If you mean like Xabi Alonso, then not a chance. He certainly has the vision and the range of passing. It is usually easier but less effective to play from deeper as you tend to get more time, hence why Pirlo would drop so deep to start with, according to himself, to get more time on the ball. However that was in Italy, where every team defended deep and did not use a press. If you are up against a team that presses, a DLP is going to be hounded and struggle to have an impact on the game.}

Thanks for reply ed. Yes more like Pirlo as I can’t imagine anyone doing what Alonso did. One of my very favourite players. Both real and Bayern were at their best with him in the team.

Yes indeed they were. Giving that you won the CL in his first year highlights the fact. With no disrespect to Liverpool I should have been more specific in that real and Bayern were considered in the top 3 teams in Europe along with Barcelona at the time and he made both those clubs significantly better. I think pep himself rates him highly and trying to remember past pep quotes maybe the best best that pep has managed.

Pirlo, now that was a footballer you would pay to watch. Not sure there are too many about like him at the moment. Reminds me of going to watch Ian Bogie when he played for the Orient. Ok so not in the same class of Pirlo of course, but for there level he stood out a country mile, and you knew you was watching a player who should never have been playing at that club, so it was a massive bonus to see him play. Plus my wife liked his legs!
