Champions league football isn't totally unimaginable for either Southampton in 7th or even Stoke in 8th with 7/ 8 games to go, what a crazy season this is, makes you wonder what the other 12 clubs are playing at not being involved :-)

So Serge Gnabry has gone down the ice just like that? missing. Thought he was good when he broke into the first team.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

21 Mar 2016 00:02:39
A piece of top class judgement letting him go to pulis, renowned for extracting the football ability out of players and producing cloggers, obviously just what gnabry needed.

I'm not sure who the little lad with Martinez was yesterday in the technical area but it was great seeing Arsene making time for him before the game, I really like Arsene as a person, seems a really nice bloke away from the game.

They are a deluded bunch north, just take a look at the pirate arsenal fan and the one who where's the club shop they talk lots of crap every week. One week they are in disarray and the next week they are the best side about. The fact is they used to be streets ahead of us and the tables have turned and they know it. They have iwobi we have dele Ali lol.

20 Mar 2016 19:37:45

Yeah, easy peasy NES :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 19:45:27
Its the businesses end for us now NE and expectations need to be met, in all seriousness mate if we don't finish both above you and top 4 people will not fall back in line as they always have and the demands for new better players will be louder than ever.
The club manager and current players all know this so I fully expect a lot less selfies be posted and a lot more points put on the board during the run in.

Raver,
Have you seen YOUR posts on Spuds page?

One minute you are slagging off Poch for his team selection, the next you are kissing his butt.

Remember, post before you puff and not puff before you post bruv.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 20:39:44
Yes dags, I did slate his team selection against Dortmund as i think he should have played the fist team and gone for it instead of giving up. As for the premier league i'm going lick his butt every time as he has taken us from 5th to the best side in the league . I also intend to keep puffing as well as it does me the world of good.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 20:43:12
Raver you wrote a post in September calling for Poch to be sacked :-)

Agree2 Disagree3

20 Mar 2016 21:28:32
Yes Raver,
You are indeed the best side in the league.

Take a tissue, clean the very very very top of your glasses, tilt your head slightly higher, look at the league table and you will see a team called Leicester who are the best side in the league :-)

Agree0 Disagree2

20 Mar 2016 21:49:07
The Spurs have had a great season and are to be congratulated, pains me to see a solid boss in there and a couple of players we should have been in on.

Still, one of my great joys over the years is watching them get there hopes up and then the powers that be spring the trap door - whether it be food poisoning, a bad bounce whatever. would not be near the fun if their expectations didn't get up a bit before they get crushed, at least this year they should be in the big boys league with us, if its any consolation to them. LOL.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 22:11:00
And spurs will get to their best when they finish below us. hehehe. let's see if they've got the stomach for a perfect run-in.

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Mar 2016 22:20:44
Wonder what uafa will call the other European tournament next season? I should imagine they will leave it as the spurday night league, hardly seems worth all the messing about changing its name for just one season.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Mar 2016 10:42:11
Agreed raver you spuds have had us this year overall.

Question is how long will it last when real come knocking for poch?

I can think of a few villa fans who thought they were destined for greatness until Martin o'neil left.

And haven't you got a stadium to build yet? As local area experts in recent stadium construction, I think I speak for the collective, in that they're pretty expensive, especially if you have one of those high end stadiums they regularly use for champions league football. Imagine what it would feel like to sell harry and dele to a league rival, and not be able to fund replacements.

Imagine how that'll feel.

You've got ten years of it.

;)

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Mar 2016 16:13:32
It's really funny how the spuds are all cock a hoop and there really isn't much between us if anything at all! Yes I do understand the moral of both sets of fans but still find it highly hilarious how excited the spuds are just because they are still putting up a fight this late in a season! I'm going to stop short of a full on Kevin kegan style rant but boy I would love it if they finished bellow us (as usual)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im happy for them SLB, everyone deserves their day in the sun and this is spurs time, obviously they are your rivals and neighbours so its hard to take, but sometimes being the bigger man is the way to go and realize that its not the end of the world if spurs do win the league mate...it will just seem like it.. :)

21 Mar 2016 19:08:42
It will be the end of the world ed and it will hurt like hell! As a loyal Arsenal fan I don't want them to ever feel any Rays from the sunlight! But I will always be honest and Spurs have been good and are looking the most likely to challenge Leicester but and there's a big but and that but is they have the hardest run in and it wouldn't be out of the question that they finish 5/ 6 points behind us . I hope so but I just feel it's different this time!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 17:59:49

Ive got to say if you'd have won the league this year I think we'd have been just as upset as you were when sol moved and helped win us the league. You just had two gimme games and won them well. Very plucky little team this year but I see a little sting in the tail. And i'm sure everyone on here will remind you of that at the end of the season like we always do year after year after year after year after year after year after year, my fingers are aching.

Now everyone saying we lack leaders which to me seems clear at times. However did anyone notice yesterday coquelin screaming and shouting several times. Even at Alexis to track back. Very passionate player especially about our club. Anyone think he should be made captain? Not that I expect Arsene to strip it from sac and arteta. But just seems he has that passion and drive to push the team on when we're struggling.

Agree1 Disagree5

20 Mar 2016 18:10:33
It's great to see Gunner, we sometimes get so frustrated with the teams we support because 'we' expect more. Which can only be detrimental to the players.

Agree1 Disagree4

20 Mar 2016 18:19:34
We will do the Arsenal double again this season Raver as always, top 4 and above spurs.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 18:27:42
Not trying to be funny, but I think we Arsenal supporters just need to keep calm and see what happens here. Leicester are the big favourites - can't believe all the 1-nils they are putting up - would have expected them to drop a lot more points.

Spurs difficult run in will take care of themselves many points to be dropped there, so if we just take care of our business we should pip Spurs by the end and if Leicester stumbles we will be the big beneficiaries. If they don't they will have one heck of a party before resuming their relegation battle next season.

At the very least, feeling confident that we will finish ahead of Spurs and break their well-intentioned hearts once again.

My 2-cents. All is good!

Agree0 Disagree3

20 Mar 2016 18:51:04
Red don't mind you showing a total lack of respect to spurs but Leicester, that's just low, they are top on merit and deserve total and utter respect mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 18:41:10
D16 was making a point and got rudely catecrashed by inconsiderate yobs from an inferior site, interupting a talking point that has nothing at all to do with your point. At least give the lad some respect. As usual no respect. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 21:33:50
I am with you Steve, Leicester deserves all they are getting this season because they are playing with big balls! Glory to them but would be shocked to see them put it together 2 years on the trot.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 21:59:18
Whats two years got to do with it, one would be the miracle of the century. The turn round of all turn rounds. i'm sure their expectations will be real next season but they won't be fighting relegation far from it. They have a very astute manager, who will know what to do to make sure they don't go into meltdown.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Mar 2016 01:49:42
Im not having a pop red but i do think that whatever happens this year the achievement of Leicester is remarkable and eye opening. I do understand your loyalty and where you are coming from.

21 Mar 2016 13:49:29
Are you kidding Steve, if Arsenal aren't in the picture - then nobody would be a more worthy and popular winner than Leicester and even more important if they weren't having a blinder of a season then friggin' Spurs would be first.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 14:41:56
I think it's clear where we need to strengthen and Wenger's relationship with the fans will depend on whether he gets it right in the close season. The absolute priority is the defence. We need at least one quality, mobile centre half, who can win the ball, distribute it cleanly and not get caught for pace especially when we play such a high line. Notwithstanding Elneny, who looks a very good player, and Coquelin who I like despite his lack of discipline, we do need a world class defensive midfielder. The final bit of the jigsaw is the strike force. I like Welbeck. Given a run he may refine his finishing. Giroud, I like too, he puts in a shift and does score some important goals, but he isn't going to win us the league. A striker of proven quality, who can score 25+ league goals a season is an absolute must.

This will demand a lot of expense, but the potential sale of Giroud, Walcott, Mertesacker, and Campbell would take the sting out of it. I know it's hard to always get the right players but if act swiftly, i. e. not waiting until August, I think it can be done.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

20 Mar 2016 16:58:10
I think wengers relationship with the fans is a massive problem and i think even something that looks like a statement signing or signigs will only placate until the next unnecessary defeat or poor run and the relationship now is so fragile, it would ruin any good. i'm afraid wengers messiah status is no more.

20 Mar 2016 12:55:35
Wenger is vilified even for the smallest transgressions, by our own fan base. its hypocritical to bang on about how he missed out on Kante and Mahrex, when fans constantly complain about not enough marquee signings.

people were just complaining about Elneny being an unknown, last season it was complaints about le Coq being recalled. Wenger is a victim of his own own failures but sometimes i think it just gets ridiculous, it has turned into a witch hunt.

Believable3 Unbelievable8

20 Mar 2016 13:00:00
You always get judged on your signings success and expectation, when you are successful you get praised, when not, the opposite, he's not immune or different to any other manager and that's life.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 13:13:15
The main complaints i read about elneny was he was too little too late and it has took wenger 10 weeks to trust him, a bit late for what was needed this season. We needed instant impact when he came in but for whatever reason was not ready to play, which has proved another faux pas.

Agree4 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 13:14:46
Wenger had to recall coq, there was no one left to play.

Agree5 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 17:19:32
I must admit I do have some sympathy for Arsene on being expected to pick up every player picked up from no where who turns out to brilliant, if he got it wrong so did a lot of others too
For every Mahrez and Kante there's 50 players of the same level before they arrive in England we never hear of again and 100s of vardys who never make the bench in the football league let alone premier league, its Arsene pretending every player who turns out brilliant was on his radar that makes me laugh like Ranaldo who tells a very different version to Arsene about how close he ever got to being an Arsenal player.
As for Elneny I had no idea if he was any good or not and neither did anyone else on here because none of us had ever heard of him, my beef was when people kept saying he should go straight in the team and how exciting a signing he was :-) I found that very desperate about someone they'd never see play or even heard of last December.
Having seen Elneny play a few times I'd now say he's OK, a bit raw and needs more time to adjust to the premier league and the Arsene way of playing but so far he's doing ok but still nowhere near as well as people are talking up.

Agree0 Disagree4

20 Mar 2016 11:44:55
Does the emergence of iwobi and welbeck, if we are to stregthen next season up front mean bye bye to walcott, giroud, ox and campbell. They certainly give what all the others do and a bit more.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

20 Mar 2016 13:49:59
It's great for the squad, I'd say it's not good news for Theo and I've never been a fan of Giroud, just not got the quality for a 1st choice striker.
Ox I'd give another season to step up and I'd keep Campbell of yes happy to be a squad player, which I doubt.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 17:29:06
I think Campbell has done OK when he's played I really don't think the boys done a lot wrong or had a fair chance.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 18:24:37
In case of Walcott, I think its bye bye. Lot of youngsters competing for that right wing place as well next season. Reine Adelaide and Gnabry, along with Iwobi and Ramsey can play there as well.

{Ed001's Note - hard to really judge him in Portugal, I don't watch a lot of Portugese football. He is doing well though.}

If Mahrez doesn't win the player of the season I will be shocked to be honest.

Vardy just had a good first half of the season, I've not seen Lineker slavering over him during a MOTD Vardy analysis section in quite some time.

Fergie recently said his player of the season is Kante so that's three of their players being talked about in that respect - not bad at all when you realise it's Leicester that we're talking about.

Agree3 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 16:45:48

Don't you all love watching Mahrez.
He's something else isn't he?
How did so many teams including Arsenal
miss him.
Where he been hiding?
Would love to see him in an Arsenal shirt.
Shame is probably Barcelona would too!

Believable0 Unbelievable7

20 Mar 2016 08:24:54
we didn't miss him, we knew all about him.

Agree3 Disagree4

{Ed001's Note - and Kante. Wenger admits he just didn't think they were big and strong enough. Shows the stupidity of the English obsession with size, which Wenger has bought into. Wenger had watched Kante a number of times but dismissed him because he was 'too short' at 5ft 5. Mahrez he said was 'too slight' because his build is too skinny. Madness.}

20 Mar 2016 08:38:39
Well I never knew any of that Ed.
Your right how stupid must he be?
Let's say even IF! he had seen Mahrez and thought his build was too skinny didn't he for one second notice his potential then think about beefing him up in the gym.
Just shows you really doesn't it.
Wonder what Wenger thinks of Peter Crouch then?
Ha ha.

Agree0 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - he came out and admitted to it before the last time you played Leicester. I am amazed it wasn't splashed all over the media to be honest.}

20 Mar 2016 09:03:34
Personally I think Arsene is a bit of a name dropper the Ego Ranaldo Messi you name Arsenes got a hard luck story about them and a reason why he knew all about them wanted to even tried to sign them but a misunderstanding got in the way. Arsenes a bit like the bloke in the pub who if you bought a car for £5000 he was afford it but turned it down at £3000 :-)
I read a couple of weeks Leicester were scouting another player altogether and spotted Mahrez.

Agree2 Disagree2

20 Mar 2016 11:37:41
Gunner, always said now wenger is reactive and not proactive, he's not got what is required no more. Every thing in life has a shelf life for all sorts of reasons and that includes premier league manager, all managers come to that. Ideas change and I remember just 10 years ago all the buzz managers were ancelloti, capello, del bosque, hiddink, van gaal, scolari, lippi, trapatoni, hizfelt and Maldini and none are now managing top clubs or still having success at the highest level, time moves on.

Agree3 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 12:36:43
Didn't we all criticise Wenger for signing small French league 1 or 2 players?

The man is damned if he does and if he doesn't

Must be great being a club manager with everyone highlighting the one that got away.

Agree1 Disagree6

20 Mar 2016 12:51:43
Small and useless and can't get in the team is a bit different to small and brilliant, not many have criticised caz for his size, its also about strength and ability. Plus wenger got criticised for playing the whole team with below six foot players, going for tika taca footbal, when most didn't have the ability for what he was trying to achieve. Yes kante got away and some do, the issue comes, when it was under his nose and on his patch, french football.

Agree3 Disagree3

20 Mar 2016 16:24:46
Even the fans didn't use to like Mahrez at his old club, he cut inside 9 times out of 10 and that predictability didn't work in that league the way it does in the PL. I think it shows you that sometimes you need a perfect suit between player and the team's style of play.

If he put on some weight he could be absolutely amazing.

Agree0 Disagree4

20 Mar 2016 10:54:21
Any player that does well Wenger has admitted he nearly signed them.

I don't think I have seen this guy put a foot wrong so far.
He looks like he has been in the team for years.
Very good player in my opinion.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

20 Mar 2016 10:55:19
I remember when he signed and did the photo shoot he was slightly off centre. But apart from that he's not put a foot wrong since.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 06:43:30
Excellent performance yesterday. The defensive shield of Coquelin and Elneny was reassuring to see, in addition Gabriel, after a shaky start, settled down and looks so much better alongside Koscielny, than Mertesacker. We may see the best of him emerge next season, if he makes the position his own and plays on a regular basis. Iwobi played really well and will only get better as he matures. Another player to watch out for in the future is Reinne-Adelaide.
The run in will be interesting, with 5 very winnable home matches, the away matches are far more difficult, but with Man City still involved in the Champions League, we may be able to pick up at least a draw there, West Ham will be extremely difficult and Sunderland battling for relegation will slo be difficult. I think we can achieve 2nd place, as the team currently in second have a more difficult run in than us. To catch Leicester I believe we will need to win 7 and draw one of the remaining fixtures, whilst Leicester would have to drop points in their difficult fixtures; Chelsea, Man U and even Sunderland will not be easy - From these matches we really need them to lose the first two and draw the third. At home a tricky match against West Ham is anther potential one where they could drop points. If we can keep winning pressure may begin to mount up on them, as they close in on the title.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

20 Mar 2016 08:27:32
We seem to be better away than at home, you would like to think we can collect 15 points from the 5 home fixtures, but I;m not so sure. going on recent results.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 10:33:33
Is it because our fans aren't in their back as much as they are at home. I only go to maybe 3 or 4 games a season but usually the atmosphere is so negative.

Agree1 Disagree1

20 Mar 2016 11:12:13
We have won 8 at home and 8 away, lost 3 at home and 4 away, we have played 2 more away games than home, so not a lot in it D16 chances to improve our home form with five left. I think the frustration is bigger at home because of the size of the support, but its the same old story, play well and get the crowd up, and not and get the crowd on your back.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2016 06:34:20
I'd like spurs to lose to bournemouth today and then win/ draw against leicester. Leicester have tough draws in the run-in. We still have a chance to win the league.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

20 Mar 2016 07:02:18
We would all like the Toot to lose today, but a draw is a more realistic result. They also have a very difficult April coming up. Catching Leicester is a tall order, but not impossible, yet!

Agree0 Disagree1
