Another disappointing result tonight, but all but secure an improved 3rd. That for me is the only possitive this season from last, I will air my views why at the end of the campaign.

Well played Sunderland - made it difficult for us and hit us hard on the break
see you next season.

We need to figure out how to find the key for the bus without leaving us exposed at the back.

Lacked width and energy in first half. Attacks were too slow which doesn't work against a rigid back 9

Let's rest Sanchez and Ozil so ready for cup - let Theo start and get a goal for confidence before the final

G62,

As much as u go on about how much David matters to us I do wonder where you would be without Sanchez?

The last few games he has been feeling it and arsenal have stuttered again. Is that now 3 home games without a goal?

I must admit thou, what a player that Bellerin looks! Top draw youngster and only going to get better. A real gem!

3rd is yours guys and u 100% deserve it. U have been better than us this year hands down. But maybe just maybe I was correct when I said some of you need to calm down before proclaiming a new era.

Oh well it's been fun this season guys I have enjoyed the banter with u lot and ed25. I hate this time of year, 1 game left then months of no real football to watch.

Here's hoping next season we can both do well (obviously u coming short and us winning) :)

Have a good one fellas always a pleasure.

{Ed025's Note - you are still invited to our closed season joke fest chris..details out shortly.. :)

Thanks for returning my call Chris :-)
Mate the players may be lightweights who need a break but us banter warriors are made of much sterner stuff.
Rumour humour and ridicule will see us through the footie free months ahead CTR mate and I hope you'll be right in the thick of it with us all my friend.

Sanchez had a dip in form earlier in the season which coincided with our best spell, check your facts.

21 May 2015 07:00:53
U were in form earlier in the season saint? So why so far off Chelsea? Maybe your facts need checking?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2015 16:42:11
i don't think he means too much earlier CTR just the start of the year, the early part of the season we sucked! if we had got gab in the summer..if coq had started the 1st games, if wenger had started seeing out games earlier in the season we may of been closer, there's a depressing amount of ifs from the early campaign is why we are so far from chelsea

Very very disappointed.

Ok, a point basically guarantees us 3rd spot, unless Manchester United hammer Hull 7-0 and we lose at home to West Brom, but we are totally void of confidence, especially when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net.

0-0 Chelsea (H)
1-1 Manchester United (A)
0-1 Swansea (H)
0-0 Sun'land (H).

No wins in 4 and only 1 goal scored.

I'm happy(ish) to finish 3rd, its an improvement on our annual 4th but we are going into FA Cup Final with no confidence at all.

Chelsea came to defend, and succeeded.
Swansea came to defend, and succeeded.
Sun'land came to defend, and succeeded.

Villa will possibly do the same, although to their credit, Sherwood is an attack minded manager, but if they do, they will probably succeed, and with Benteke up front, they could quite easily nick a goal on the counter.

Like I said, I'm worried about final.

{Ed025's Note - which is why a world class striker should be a priority dags, i know i sound like a broken record but its true mate..

20 May 2015 22:50:47
To be fair Ed, you are spot on.

I'm a massive Giroud fan, but it would be dreamland if Aguero was our man up top.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2015 16:45:40
i will happily listen to that record over and over ed ;) are you showing real interest in evans? that must give you nightmares! 3rd should be secure, but say we lose by 2 utd would only have to win by 5, neither should happen, but not impossible, still a bit nervous!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - 3rd is secure eden..not even arsenal could blow that mate.. :)

20 May 2015 21:45:07
Ozil is pants

Galaga mooner... Lol

20 May 2015 23:54:19
He hasn't been my best thing since sliced bread since sliced bread, if he's just got 2 appearances left in an Arsenal shirt I wouldn't be disappointed ...... Been one of favourite players for years and I couldn't have been more happy when we signed him, he's just not cut out for EPL

Agree0 Disagree1

21 May 2015 16:59:09
I totally disagree. If you expect Ozil to put in a shift of hard running then that will never happen. Ozil has one attribute, and that is playing the telling pass. Too bad he has a slow and wasteful wonkey as a target most times

It's interesting that Wenger keeps not selecting Walcott in the starting eleven. I know he is coming back from serious injury, but with contract talks looming it would make more sense to play him. I wonder if Wenger is planning a move for soemone like Reus or Sterling and will sell Walcott to fund the move.
I am pleased that Gibbs is playing, as I still have reservations in respect of Monreal, due to his lack of pace. Great to see Wilshere back in the starting line up.

Pedro from barca, is it true he could be leaving for such a small fee? Or is this just paper talk.

I think Wilshere and Walcott to start ahead of rambo and cazorla against Sunderland. Team needs a bit of freshening up after Swansea and a proper winder would be nice for a change on the right.

Hi Guys , been quiet for a while had all sorts of family problems and I am walking around with Gall Stones that are an agony .

I can't believe we would go for Sterling and at 40,000,000. he isn't what we need, Cech would be a fine signing IMO although would JM sell him to us?? I doubt it.

SAINT what I will say Ospinia was at fault for the Swansea goal for sure .................but I still take your point as we didn't defend as a unit up to Xmas did we?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I hope your health issues get figured out soon BG.}

They were 6'tall and wore a blue shirt.

They were John Stones :-)

Ed's I've not managed to find any info on bayern transfers, besides the gundogan goetze swap, and interest in kevin debruyne.

surely they will be big players this summer, rebuilding an aged squad.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Why are you asking on the Arsenal page.}

20 May 2015 15:18:54
have asked on european pages no response, and there isn't a bayern page?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - sometimes you have to give us time to gather info. The Bayern post is on hold for now until it can be dealt with.}

21 May 2015 14:03:51
i don't want to put you people on the spot, if you can provide some info we appreciate it, if not, we also appreciate it, this site is awesome either way. thanks for everything.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - sometimes it can take ages, other times the info is to hand. We put up a Barnsley site because we were asked for it, but trying to get info on them is like finding hen's teeth! Bayern is another one that is difficult, because of all the changes going on, with the medical team etc and arguments between Pep and others. Lots can change there yet.}

So its Sterling and Milner that are the latest players we are linked with.

Im actually very surprised that people here think Milner would be a good signing. He is not the calibre of player we want at Arsenal to take us forward and help us challenge for the title and stop embarrassing ourselves in the Champions league.

There is a reason City will not be renewing his contract. He is 29 now and his best days are certainly behind him. He's only been getting so much game time because of injuries and underperforming players at City. We do not need any more midfield squad players, and we have enough versatility. He is good tracking back and works hard, but we get enough of that from Ox, Ramsey and Sanchez, who all have more quality.

As for Sterling, he is either a little scroat, or getting some very bad advice from his agent. He is not much better than Ox or Walcott. Certainly not worth spending £30m+ on. We have Ox, Walcott, Cazorla, Ozil, Rosicky, Sanchez, Campbell, Wilshere and Welbeck to cover LW/RW/CAM.

I personally believe that we only need a DM to make this team title contenders. Defence is sorted and Ospina is a capable keeper. No shortage at all of quality in attack either.

If a player like Cech, Sirigu, Hummels, Benzema or Lacazette becomes available and wiling to join then go for it.

But unless there are no major departures then just Wanyama will do for me.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 May 2015 09:11:45
I couldn't disagree more about the goalkeeping situation... I think ospina was extremely poor on Monacos third goal, Swanseas goal and I might be harsh but if De gea was in our goal he would of saved Herrera's shot at the weekend.

How many points had De gea saved Utd or Courtois saved Chelsea this year. The defence has been Solid since Jan. I don't remember at any stage this year that ospina saved us a single point. I think its the position we need most

There's no keaper that will significantly improve our results. As for sterling? No thanks, he's another jermaine pennant, Aaron Lennon type, he'll drop in to mediocrity soon enough. I'm very conflicted on Milner, he's been good for city, but I still can't forget all the shockers and displays of a brutal lack of talent over the years so it's tough

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2015 12:17:09
I will implode if we try to sign Sterling. Surely even Wenger can't be that irrational. We need a CF and DM, and preferably a GK

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2015 18:48:24
"There is a reason City will not be renewing his contract."

The reason being he is refusing to sign a new contract, they very much want him to stay.
