Some new guy called Sven Mislintat has joined and Steve Rowley has left the club.

{Ed0333's Note - He’s has unearthed some real gems for Dortmund. I think you’ll be suitably impressed with his credentials mate. He’ll prove to be a shrewd piece of business I think.

STill need to convince the talent to join us and continue to develop

Part of the much needed shake up of the backroom staff.
The new fitness coach is clearly already having an effect with players bulking up and nowhere near the usual injury crisis we usually suffer going into the busy December period, nor the November collapse. Indeed, we only have long term injured Cazorla and Giroud injured and he may be back in time for Thursday. Against the Toot last season they looked stronger and fitter than us, but not this season.

I think recruiting is only part of the problem and we need a real change in mentality within the club.
Reading Xhaka yesterday talking about us catching City this season I couldn't help but think how much he had become Arsenalized and like Poldolski and Mertesacker he had learned to talk a good game rather than deliver on the pitch.
I know he was being positive but I think it's a little embarrassing to hear the players talking titles after 1 good performance and result in view of our track record over recent years, no neutral fan would have taken Xhaka seriously and in my opinion such talk should remain in house until we've been on a 10 premier league game winning run and City have lost or drawn a few games.
I know Arsene will like Xhaka comments but to the rest of the football world it is just silly talk after one good result and reason for others to laugh at out expense.

Ed02, has this new chap taking the role you mentioned about in the sharkopod? Or can we expect someone else to join in a negotiating role?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not entirely sure I understand the first question.}

21 Nov 2017 10:35:48
I think ed was on about Raul sanllehi from Barcelona as chief negotiator. Maybe set to join in November unless he takes time off. Sorry if I've got that wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Ok, but he won't be joining in November and I thought I explained the position they are talking to him about.}

21 Nov 2017 10:48:29
Apologies Ed, I meant that in the sharkopod you said there was a possibility of Raul Sanllehi joining Arsenal from Barcelona. Is there a possibility he will still join Arsenal, or has that position now been filled by Sven Mislintat instead and Sanllehi will go somewhere else?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I think there is some confusion. The two are entirely unrelated. Sven Mislintat will join as new Head of Recruitment (e.g. top of the scouting network) to replace Steve Rowley. Mislintat is a really nice guy and comes with a fantastic reputation. The situation with Raul Sanllehi is different. He is leaving Barcelona November 30, 2017 (although he is in London on business at the moment) and he will not finally commit to anything until that happens. Arsenal has approached someone else (as I dealt with some months ago) and have now approached Sanllehi to join Arsenal, initially with the title of Director of Operations but with the longer term intent of becoming the Director of Football. So the two are completely unrelated.)

Yeah sorry ed I was pointing out that it was a different guy in a different role. Could remember exactly what you said in the sharkopod without going through it again.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You don't listen to it on a loop?"

21 Nov 2017 17:32:57
I've listen to it again today. I will start playing it as I go to sleep and put it on loop in hope it burns into my brain. Just one more question before I do that though ed, will it make me gay if I let you sing me to sleep 😅.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No but I might harvest some of those nice pink organs.}

21 Nov 2017 11:36:36
Thanks for clarifying that Ed. Will be some interesting times ahead by the sounds of things.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - it looks like Arsenal are reinforcing their foundations, exciting times ahead perhaps.

21 Nov 2017 18:19:40
I harvest my organ daily ed 😂.

{Ed002's Note - As an Arsenal supporter I am hardly surprised.}

Good article Ed, I was only just getting into football in 1970 so only really remember Pele from new York cosmos and TV footage of previous world cups but what a player he was!
To think what he would cost in today's game compared to Neymar:-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I wonder if they would still name him a national treasure to block him leaving Brazil in the modern era?}

20 Nov 2017 15:14:42
G62 - We are a similar age, so I have similar memories to you of Pele. I think it would have been interesting to see how he would have faired in a top European League as I seem to recall him playing for Santos and an American team.

Robbie, something tells me he’d have coped just fine and would have no issues cutting it.

20 Nov 2017 15:55:39
They'd be within there rights to declare him treasure trove Ed mate :-)
I'm pretty sure he would have mesmerised European defences as he did Brazilian and international ones RG mate, I remember people talking about hin when I was a kid and saying the only way to stop him was kick him as I think Uruguay did.
My favourite goal I've seen from Pele was against Sweden where he chipped the ball over the full stood keeper and ran round him to tap the ball in the net, pure class on grass even Dennis Bergkamp couldn't match, I can't pay Pele a higher compliment than to say Bergkamp Just wasn't in the same league and I rate Dennis as ours and the premier leagues best ever player.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - how old are you lot? I never saw him play live as I am not old enough.}

20 Nov 2017 17:16:31
If you can't Remember The man from UNCLE, The Invaders or Pele Ed001 then I feel for you Ed001 mate, the 60s really was a golden era in some ways mate, what about the Beatles Gerry and the pace makers and Ken Dodd?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I could never forget Doddy he was my grandad's best mate, spent many a happy 8 hours watching his 1 hour shows.}

20 Nov 2017 18:18:09
I guess you spent your holidays in Notty Ash then Ed :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I did go there many times during the holidays. It was Doddy that got me into comps, as he always used to tell me that's what I should be doing when I grew up. When you are a kid and a legend like Ken Dodd tells you something, you listen and take note and it stays with you. Oh and I used to have blooming hundreds of 'tickle sticks'. Never knew what I was meant to do with them but he kept giving me them.}

20 Nov 2017 21:38:40
Once a Diddy man always a Diddy man Ed mate, you can take the boy out of Diddy land.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - there are worse things to be that's for sure.}

21 Nov 2017 06:36:26
Hi Ed, we are reallly old, but still too young to have been alive when the toot last won the league!

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Nov 2017 10:30:58
Don’t worry Ed i was barely old enough to catch the invincibles playing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you are not quite as old as G62 then, but not far off it as that was in the 1880's when Preston North End went undefeated throughout a season.....}
