Amazing.

Finished work at 3 o'clock.

Was driving home listening to match on radio.

Pulled in to get petrol at 0-0.

Got petrol and a choccy bar.

Minutes later, drove off.

Commentator say's "Villa 0 Arsenal 3"

WTF, nearly crashed into a tree.

Great result, well done boys.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not good advertising for a driving instructor bud lol

And I believe that was the exact score as predicted by the new all seeing guy.

Take a bow 337 ;-)

P.s I was in the car listening to it, they were talking about something else then suddenly, "it's Ozil, he's through, he's scored" kinda caught them by surprise. ;-)

I'd like to see a total fringe team out against Southampton. It would be an opportunity to see what the bench can do and being so short at the back, we really need to prioritise the important competitions.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Sep 2014 20:20:16
Would play Ospina, Bellerin, Hayden, Chambers, Rosicky, Podolski, Campbell

Agree0 Disagree0

And Sanogo, these are the games he needs

Agree0 Disagree0

Chambers again nooo, I would like to see afobe as sanagoo still has the hamstring injury

I love Rambo but he hasn't hit the form that he did last season? Anyone think it's his turn to play LW and aparently "gain some confidence"? Lool

Delighted by the result

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Sep 2014 19:19:24
He must be sold, he's had his chance on the wing and one good season is simply not good enough. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Sep 2014 20:10:02
Send him out on loan to Palace or Blackburn for a season :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Rambo tries too hard these days! Seems like he wants to do something incredible every time he gets the ball and overdoes it! Hope Wenger can guide him. Btw mesut ozil is backkk!😃

Good result. Wenger sure knows when to drop a virus on the other team. Any left for next week?

What do you all think we should do in the league cup. Rest a few or play a second string. i'm guessing he will rest ozil. Campbell upfront. Chambers should play. Ospina debut. Hayden should play I think test him out. Zeralem maybe to get a game

Big rumours tottenham have added dr norton and dr mc cafee to there medical staff for next week :)

Welbeck is quick and strong - still think he will be good. Ozil through the middle, good. Clean sheet good. Sanchez on bench, theo back for spurs. 40th birthday tomorrow. Happy days

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - happy birthday baggins mate..

Happy Birthday Mate :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Theo back?? really?? If for the spurs game then he will have to feature in the week against Southampton

Agree0 Disagree0

Good game, lads played well. Was worried Rambo would get a red for a while lol

Happy birthday in advance Bilbo

Theo Walcott is no longer shown as back on 27th Sept on Physioroom but now as NO RETURN DATE so don't expect to see him anytime soon.

By all accounts Physioroom get this info directly from the clubs.

I agree RED, I heard sometime ago it could well be nearer Xmas

I thought it was you who said that Banbury but couldn't remember for sure.

It is just so typical. I don't know how we do it with such regularity.

Agree0 Disagree0

Happy birthday for tomorrow Mr Baggins. Hopefully West Brom will give you a nice present

Agree0 Disagree0

RED

I had heard before the world cup that he wouldn't be back before November at the earliest? But that was sometime ago and things can take a turn for the better, but we do seem to advertise A.N.Other coming back only to keep changing the dates

Excellent result

Yes 3 points BUT a clean sheet which is a big plus , forget the Southampton game, let's get 3 points v spurs and then avoid defeat away at Chelsea and we can start to talk a bit positively again

Well done Ozil

And good stuff Danny, now off the mark

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Very Pleased!

Özil was my man of match, great goal, nice assist to Danny and controlled the passing in the game, a good reply to a bad game and all the media sledging!

Very comfortable win away from home.

Happy times.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Banbury. let's hope every team gets a stomach bug before they play us. Wouldn't make much of a difference to the spurs though. They're already bricking them selves whenever we're the opponents.

Just a post regarding our midfield formation and players in it, obviously nobody likes ozil on the wing not his position not good there in fact he is a problem there doesn't track back at all other teams take advantage of it. We have changed our formation to have a def mid instead of att mid with JW and AR in front, this is to counter are weakness on the break from last year however it hasn't worked because MF and MA haven't got any legs, this formation also means ozil doesn't have a position available unless u put him inside along AR again I don't think this works so this leaves me thinking what the hell is wenger up to, we could have signed fabregas who would be perfect along AR in the midfield if he wanted to play this way if not continue with the 2 holding and ozil in front and buy a athletic defensive minded midfield to play with AR. But to change the formation and not but suitable players for it is a joke. I know ozil has had a lot this summer but he hasn't been the player we expected he looks lost in our team and every time I watch arsenal this year afta 60 mins or earlier I want him subbed, its so frustrating. Think cazorla has improved his workrate and I would like to see him more in our current formation the boy is class and efficient on the ball.

Anyway rant over come on you gooners let's beat villa today(hard game) get our season going. sanchez is awesome and I think welbeck is a good addition poor mans henry but with time and some confidence in front of goal could be important for us.

Sanchez and Wilshire both have knocks, yet are on the bench. work that out, if they are injured then they shouldn't be involved

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They're just being rested today apparently. No injury problems for either of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

?

Not according to ssn, Sanchez got a knock in the warm up, and Wilshire had a knock in mid week

Doesn't matter now anyway :)

Agree0 Disagree0

On Alexis Sanchez…
Sanchez was rested today and of course he was completely available. Frm the horses mouth

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean AW, the man who said Theo would be available after the England game, then it was 2 to 3 weeks, week 3 is next week.

Mr Wenger is very poor with the truth when it comes to injuries

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think that's the case, when someone is injured he says so doesn't declare them as fit, it was just media he never said theo would be available, he just said he wld be training with the first team.r He said 2 3 weeks out of which 2 past, we will know by next week

Big fan of Bellerin and think he will become a very good player. I know chambers was originally signed as a RB but he is clearly a quality CB in the making.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but now Debuchy is out for 6weeks or 3months depending on whether surgery is required, would have given Jenks a long run in the team that would have shown us if the boy is ready rather than him playing in (IMO) a poor west ham side.

Here's on for you.

Ramsay on the wing?

Discuss :P

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Sep 2014 11:55:06
But where would ozil play?
😝

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - dortmund?.. :)

20 Sep 2014 12:55:35
Ramsay can and would gladly play in any position including in goal! However his best position is CM and he should play there, I actually think he would be a very capable full back if we get desperate

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Sep 2014 13:00:27
You have a point AG :P

But seriously, Wenger is trying to fit Ramsay Wilshere and Ozil in the one team. Right now it's not working because a) Ozil's on the wing b) Jack/Aaron aren't working in a double pivot as they have "cover" in Flamini/Arteta behind them.

So just swap Ramsay with Ozil.

Obviously I'd prefer
Ox on wing/pivot/ozil in the whole

But that's not happening at the moment and could prove vulnerable for the first few games. Especially if Ozil hasn't regained his form.

Ramsay could make a Milner type winger and that would be no bad thing at the moment. Would track back and cover the FB where we've been dangerously exposed so far this season.

I think it's on option for the time being.

Allow Ozil to regain his form. And maybe take some pressure off Ramsay to perform. Let him do the basics and a bit of grunt work on the flank and get his rhythm back.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Sep 2014 09:57:53
must admit I am worried today as villa are a counter attacking team with some pace going forward, exactly what we seem to have problems with, with our gun ho attacks.

I think today he will play Ozil in the 10 role, here's hoping:) then I think our attacking class will prevail

20 Sep 2014 06:55:58
Hi Everyone

its been long time since I posted last on the forum. But now I think I can't take it anymore. AW is so so so so. much stubborn. After the city game he says " we need some one like vieara in the midfield". we lack physically. Why say it now when the window is closed. Everyone knew we need a solid physical defensive midfielder who knows how to defend, tackle has great stamina, break up counter attacks. The goals we conceded both yesterday and Saturday two of which were from counter attacks. Arteta and flamini don't have the legs now. Even flamini during the 1st goal on counter attack failed to keep up and Aguero ran past him from his front and he kept watching. He should have followed him instead was ball watching. Really it was ridiculous defending. Another weakness of our this season till date has been goals we have conceded via set pieces. why follow zonal marking system, when it always is risky play and players defending get confused. During the city game there were only 4 city players in our box for the corner. we had everybody back, but we still conceded the goal because we were only zone marking. Man to man marking is simple and you cover the opposite player hence no confusion. Who takes the defending decisions is it Bold or AW? I know SB won't dream of doing zonal marking must be AW who won't allow man 2 man marking . then what the hell is Steve for. You have to adapt tactically as per the opposition specially in midfield.

Also AW is destroying ozil by playing him on the left / right wing. don't know why. the position requires one to track back and help the full backs besides the attacking responsibility. Ozil does not do that, simply because he can't. He is a creator/ playmaker and plays best as AM, where Denis bergkamp used to play, who created assists and score goals as well. Play OX at the wing ozil as AM. Sanchez as RW. Welbeck as center forward . Ramsey as a deep lying playmaker and can do defensive work successfully. As he has shown that he can tackle and break up play. His passing will help to spread the play, which is an important part of the game, as it creates a defensive position into attacking one so quickly. Along side Ramsey play JW as box 2 box midfielder. As he can dribble and run with the game ball successfully. Till we get a top physical defensive midfielder, " this formation can work.

Why TV was not replaced is something wenger should answer. on top of that he also sold Ignasi Miquel, who could play left back as well. what he did with i'm is foolishness. Then on top of it sent Carl jeinkinson on loan as well.

our next match is against Aston Villa who are playing really well. I think I do fear now we can loose that game as well. Our squad now lacks players and we look like some small club struggling for players who can keep up.

And please give ozil rest, play rosisky who played brilliantly in euro qualifiers last week. He is match fit, but play him in the right position.

AW you are breaking our hearts, we fans don't deserve this. We buy so expensive tickets, merchandise etc. and what we get is pain. if you don't want to do this anymore just resign. You talk about attitude all the time, but what about your stubborn attitude?

Anyone know when Diaby will be fit enough for the first team? I honestly still think he's amazing, if only he could stay unbroken.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Such a good player, I really feel sorry for him, the career he could have had if he had stronger bones and ligaments!

Agree0 Disagree0

I haven't seen him enough to make a judgement

And I have supported Arsenal for over 40 years

Agree0 Disagree0

Abou Diaby is a professional hospital patient whose career has been blighted with appearances for Arsenal. Sad but true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea I don't see the big fuss. Whenever I used to see him play, he didn't have a great first touch, lost the ball pretty easily and was fairly clumsy. He had good presence and he made the odd great ball, and had his moments of fairly impressive flair, but that's pretty much it. I think people liked him so much because they convinced themselves he was the next veira.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that's a wee bit harsh C S. Its unfortunate but true that we have never seen a 100% fit Diaby get a run in the first team as a regular. His physique and technical ability would surely be big bonuses to our midfield, if we could only get him fit. That match at Liverpool he bossed the game.

Hopefully he can do a Rosicky, get this injury nonsense put to bed and bring something positive to the team for the remainder of his career.

BOOING OZIL.!
That can't be done. Seriously negative thing to do.
We can't be booing a player of his calibre. There is something not right when a player like Ozil is at a club like Arsenal and he can't turn it on.
The negativity should be addressed to why! he is under achieving not to him.
If we want to attract top players in the future we can't be seen booing our present top players. That's not going to do it in my opinion.
Our frustrations should be directed at who and why he is playing under par not at him while he is on the pitch.
How is that going to help anything?.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just thoughts on this.
I seem to be a disappointed fan in mertesacker so far this season he dosn't seem to be showing the desire he has for the past few seasons and i'm hoping it is a getting back into the season but I want to see him show more as I know he has it in him, jogging back is not acceptable when they are attacking! they should be putting their bodys on the line to save a goal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Batch, I totally agree we know he is not blessed with pace;) but he has been just jogging to get back not even closing the angles down like he used to. I would consider dropping him for chambers today as he is showing the attitude we need in these hard times
