Debuchy or Bellerin to start vs Chelsea?

Personally I'd go for Debuchy assuming he's fit. Bellerin is brilliant going forward, but up against Hazard and with Mertesaker potentially not returning to fitness in time I'd want all the experience possible in the back line.

Think I'd go with stability and keep what we've been playing with at the back, Bellerins not really put a foot wrong so there's no need to drop him imo

Bellerin for sure, Debuchy isn't as quick and isn't match sharp. Hazards a nightmare either way, but I'd feel safer with Bellerin.

Belerin because if it ain't broke don't fix it, Debuchy may displace him over the coming year but as we stand Hector has like Le Coq and Monreal proved he is part of our best 11 and we are better with than without them.
Stats experience and whatever method you chose to use to measure it there's no getting away from the fact that since new years day we've been at our best for years añd these three players have played big parts in making that happen.
Play your team that does not your team that should.

Bellerin for me, with Gabriel and Koscielny that's a lot of speed too. Hazard is a nightmare though. Great player but loves to fall over in the box.

A good game for Coquelin to show his worth again.

its a good discussion really, knowing that chelsea will setup for a 0-0 and look to hit us on the counter and most probably with Hazard, Debuchy experience would count, but then he isn't as pacy as Bellerin. But also then Bellerin did conceed the penalty against pool against a tricky sterling which Hazard as well posses. So its a tough decision there against chelsea.

For me i would stick with Bellerin, the team changes in the semi finals espically with the full backs seemed to have a negative affect on our free flowing football. Ramsey seems more effective on the wing with bellerin alongside him.

The bells are ringing out for chelsea day, surely

On Bellerin, he struggled when Sterling ran at him with the ball, giving away a penalty and could easily have picked up a second yellow. Hazard is twice the player Sterling and it's not like Mourinho will not have noticed.

but fair point about Ramsey being more effective with Bellerin behind him.

Smalling has agreed new Manchester United contract.

Thank Gawd for that.

Jeez Dags I'd forgotten that nightmare scenario, luckily United are set for the future with him Jones, Evans, McNair, Rojo and Blackett to name just a few of the World Class CB's in their squad.;-)

That's not forgetting they'll be bringing in the younger version of Mertesacker in that Hummels guy from Dortmund.

Him and Merts are normally neck and neck in the training ground sprints. ;-)

He played last week in the 0-1 U21 defeat (against Reading). He looked promising but understandably not as sharp as he was in the first team last year pre-injury. He's technically squad fit but presumably needs a few more weeks to build sharpness. Seems unlikely he'll feature much (if at all) in the first team before the end of the season. Could well get a lot of minutes under his belt in pre-season though

He's been back for weeks mate, try checking out the club website, they have reports of how he has been doing when turning out for the U21's as well as training photos of all the guys each week.

Ozil and sanchez are up there with those names, if we can add dybala he has the potential to be like hazard is for chelsea. so i would not say we have done badly, compared to the doom and gloom when rvp, cesc, nasri all left us.

{Ed002's Note - Palermo are struggling to have Dybala sign a new contract but have made it clear that they will sell for €50M but will accept a single payment of €40M - a fee which will put off most clubs. His agent has been acting in an unprofessional manner and offering him to various clubs. Juventus, Inter, Dortmund and Arsenal have a declared interest. Juventus are looking for talks with the player and his representative and have put an offer on the table that includes players and a little cash. Arsenal have made a cash offer but it is short of what Palermo are looking for. Chelsea, having failed with their first choice, have also made an offer that is not acceptable to his club. There is also interest in him from Spain, Atletico Madrid - and if Barcelona can raise the funds in the summer to start their rebuilding programme, then he will wait for January as both club and player would like a deal.}

However is he first choice for Athletico and barca?

also is there any interest from PSG for the same player?
