Just my views>>>

Sczesny
Great season so far, until City game we had the best defence, plays a key part.
Not as "flappy" as he use to be and does'nt come off his line into no-no land like he use to.
Much improved from last season.

Sagna.
Very good right back who gets forward at every opportunity, sometimes leaves us exposed at the back but has a great engine. Needs to improve his crossing.

Gibbs.
Fabulous left back. very good in attack and links up very well with whoever plays in front of him, great on the overlap but again, another one who needs to improve on his crossing. Great engine.

Koscielny.
One of the best centre halves in Europe. Good at reading the game and gives his all, every game.
Weakness, a little rash in his challenges sometimes and has to realise you can't win every ball/everytime.

Mertesacker.
Huge improvement and has silenced his critics, most of them Arsenal supporters.
Has a great understanding with Kos, reads the game well and plays the ball out with comfort.
Another Tony Adams in the making.

Ozil.
Still finding his feet and getting use to the pace of the EPL.
Oozes class and his positional play is very good, very composed and can find a pass that others can only dream about.
Best assist-maker in Europe and he will get better.

Ramsey.
Huge improvement and has continued his form he was showing from the end of last season.
Probably the most improved player in the Prem.
Bags of confidence, links up well with his team-mates and scoring goals for fun. Great engine and reads the game well.

Wilshere.
On his day, not many better. Great passer and excellent vision and always looks for the ball.
Always targeted by the opposition who seem to break up his natural flowing game but he has to learn to ride the tackles and try to stay on his feet more.

Walcott.
Only just back from injury but once he gets fully match-fit could make the difference to where we finish.
Been at Arsenal for a long time now but is finally fulfilling his potential. Bags of speed, good awareness of his team-mates and a good contributor of goals.

Cazorla.
Magician. Great first season, total awareness of what's happening around him, good goalscorer but seems to be struggling to find the form of last season and is perhaps in the shadow of Ozil a little.

Rosicky.
Terrific player, reads game very well, probably our most direct player who links up very well with others. Always looking to attack but needs to improve his goalscoring.

Flamini.
Absolute bargain as he cost nothing. A natural leader who reads game very well. Good at organising those around him and protects the back 4 well.

Arteta.
His better days are behind him but still a valuable player in the Arsenal ranks. Good organiser and good passer of the ball. very composed, but like Koscielny, has to realise you can't win every ball. Concedes too many free kicks but terrific player.

Giroud.
Terrific front-man who leads the line very well. Great skills for a big man. Links up and holds up the ball very well for our midfield runners.
Suits the Arsenal style of play very well. 2nd season with Arsenal and needs to score more goals to be considered a top striker.

Just my thoughts gents and lady, feel free to disagree.

{Ed007's Note - You haven't logged in DG mate so I tagged it for you. Good job I'm in a good mood :) It would have been cruel (and funny) to just delete your post without trying to find out who it's from. Next time it'll be a yellow card though!}

Thanks a lot 007, you are on the ball as usual, a true gent

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely spot on with everything. I'm struggling to add anything to what you've already written Dags. Totally agree with the Arteta & Kos comments about trying to win every ball and conceding free kicks. More so with Arteta and the red card against Napoli. well, you could see that coming a mile away!

Per still gives me the willies when he's been closed down though. Admittedly, he is a far better than when he first came, but again like probably Ozil will, he took him a while to get adjusted to the speed of the Premiership.

The Shez for me, still has to cut out the "over confidence" tricks he pulls. The chip over the centre forward a few games ago was a prime example of this, as was the Liverpool game with Sturridge. Luckily, he has gotten away with the last few, whereas previously, it would've cost us a goal. Still vastly improved though and I guess the next few years, will be one of the best keepers in Europe.

Still feel we need to spend a few bob in January and ship a few out aswell. Jenks ( on loan ), TV5 & Bendtner should give us a bit of room, wages wise, to bring some extra quality in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks steveafc, just call it as I see it mate, and yep agree with you, we still need to spend a bit more money, one or two new signings would be great.

To dagenham gunner, I think you've missed a striker with class since Henry, Van Persie was to inconsistent IMO I think you've missed that hero! I like giroud but he doesn't do enough, hoping you draw or win on Monday would be best for us lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi Square,
Will have to agree in part mate.
Yes, Henry was, and still is, a legend and it will take a lot to replace him and his goals.

Agree with your assessment of RVP. Was at Arsenal for about 8 years, injured for a lot of the time and averaged 17 goals per season apart from his last season, when he stay injury free and scored about 36 goals, hence the move to OT.

The Olly Giroud issue is a sensitive issue on this site.
We all love him to bits, some more than others (Flybo) and he suits our style of play perfectly. He is a good target man, holds up the ball very well, has a great first touch for such a big bloke and links up very well with our attacking midfielders.
My main concern is he doesn't score enough goals. But, this is only his second season and he is getting better.
He will never be a Suarez or an Aguero but he is a different type of striker to them
Solution? I truly don't know mate but we do need a 2nd striker, somebody like Benzema, or IMO, Loic Remy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ye agree that first touch goal from grip us against spurs was special, I really like benzema someone like yilmaz or diego Costa would be great as well although I want costa to lol, of course I want to win the league and Suarez is making a good case for us but I just want us back in the big time, top four finish and I'd be made up
The perfect top four for me would be Liverpool arsenal city Everton, doubt it will end like that tho.

Agree0 Disagree0

Square, I totally agree with your top 4 prediction but swap Liverpool and Arsenal around please mate (smiles)

hi ed, do you expect wenger to make any sign any players who are cup tied in january

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It won't be a consideration.}

PREDICTION. Match of the Day tonight,,,
They will be talking more about Arsenal than the games they are showing.
In other words willing us to lose Monday.
I remember when Match Of The Day was worth watching when it was constructive and not so obviously bias. Instead they comment on the blatanly obvious! How much do they get paid!?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I make you right Golds. In fact I hate MOTD so much I don't even buy crisps anymore because of Gary Lineker.

Agree0 Disagree0

I bet Hansen will pull up a game against Bolton from 2009 to show that we're going to bottle it against Chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol Oleg, you could be right mate.

Time to step up to the plate now. No room for excuses Monday we need not just to win but to dominate and win.
We all know what the critics will do to us if we don't and what our feelings are going to be if we don't win Monday.
We need to attract some top class players we won't do that if we are hovering around 4th spot again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we all could do with a moral boosting win to get us going again.
But no matter what the result Monday we mustn't get carried away on beating our self's up, the critics will have a field day its what they do but we must stick together at tough points.
We are a very good team who have hit a sticky patch that will hopefully end Monday but if not against Newcastle, this is our best team for years and just maybe we might need to remind each other of that on Monday.
But hopefully not :-)

Agree Gold mate,
All the big boys, Liverpool, Man City and now Manchester United are winning on a regular basis. We are going through a mini-slump, no wins in 3, so we have to get back to winning ways again.

Of all the recent BIG games we've played this has to sit as the biggest, we've been knocked off the top and we have to show we can climb right back up there.

There's nothing to stop us going on another good run, we are going to have little hick ups through the season and a win and a good win will do us the world of good.

I'd like to see Rambo and Giroud back in the goals, in fact hell, Santi, Theo, Mezut and any of the others too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Make you right Jen, we need Santi to rediscover his goalscoring form of last season, his goals, along with Theo's and Podolski's could make all the difference.

Heres a nice little fact.

Wenger has been in charge of Arsenal for 17 years.

If you take all the other managers in the Prem League and add how long they have been manager of their respective clubs, combined it comes to 19 years.

Should Malkay Mackay get sacked, which unfortunately seems iminent, and I certainly do not wish that, than Wenger would have more years at Arsenal than all the other managers put together (Mackay 2 years).

Hmmmmm interesting.

A must win game against chelsea now want to see a sign of intent and get back to winning ways.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its getting tight at the top now, we are 2nd at the moment and will properly be 3rd going into the game and could go back to the top or down to 4th. PL football doesn't get tighter than this

Ozil comes in for some stick for not dominating games which I find strange but a little understanding

However, when you see him live you see the positions he takes up, the attention he receives from 2 or 3 people marking him, the suitable touches that open play up and that he relies on the rest of the team creating space / triangles to play within.

Over the years we have been poor when we drop the tempo and options for the passer. Ozil needs this too. When it does not happen the final ball is far more difficult or opposition stamp you out

I for one am super happy with his first half season. He needs a better preseason ( season after a World Cup is never great - remember our best teams defending titles after major tournaments ) and a second season

Lets hope we see passing options and a great title run in from the little German because he could just be that something special that makes us do something super special this season

From a big fan of the little German and a huge fan of the BFG

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tbh u should all just be happy u have a truly world-class player that at any given time can change a game with a pass, Inesita does not control every game he plays, he leaves that up to Xavi but how many big moments has he given Barca?
Problem is with any football fans we always want more than what we have. Ozil for me is up there in the top 10 footballers in the world. and Arsenal fans should just be so happy he is there now.

Very good post that sy4
He does something in just about every game that makes a difference even when he seems to having a quite game

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good post SY4, totally agree.
Also agree with CTR's comment and indeed G62's.

Have to agree Ozil is a great player, he and the rest of your boys need a result against us and I feel the pressure is more on you even if maybe we are favourites.

Looking for a win obviously and JM subs and tactical changes could be the difference.

Nice to see CTR back here trying to ingratiate himself amongst you boys after being torn a new one by Jenny. Still laughing, bless him.

See you on the dark side Gooners.

Marcellus, i'm going to go for a 2-0 Arsenal victory mate.
Heres hoping lol

Not so much a rumour, but unless something amazing comes along I don't see a striker arriving in jan. Poldi to play up there, as wenger himself said he'd been doing centre forward work with him alot.

If anyone arrives i'd expect it to be a natural out and out winger, as its a position we may lack in if poldi plays up top and theo gets injured.

Also maybe a rb depending on sagnas plans

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would go along with that one Gav, good shout.
