The fixture schedule is really going to test our squad, as we have 10 matches between now and the end of January, incuding a 2 leg cup semi-final. As achieving a top 4 position is a priority, the cup competitions may take a back seat, with the first eleven rested and the remaining squad and young players playing.
Reports that Wenger is 90% certain not to buy in January, which doesn't surprise me as Wenger notoriously dislikes this window and has a very full squad numerically, with only one long term injury and two short term injuries. I belive that we need to buy in January as we potentially have many players leaving at the end of the season and in a World Cup year signings in the summer will no doubt prove difficult.
I would look to bring in at least a CB, a DM and if possible replacements for Ozil and Sanchez, if we are able to sell them during the window. A tall order.

Top 4 priority?
Big mistake HUGE, as Julia Roberts said in Pretty Woman.
The top 4 battle is likely to end in tears and without any cups to hide behind the atmosphere will become ever more hostile.
Personally I wouldn't be putting all my eggs in a dodgy looking 4th place trophy basket.

I would throw everything at The Europa League, including the kitchen sink.

Best chance of silverware, plus automatic qualification into next season's CL.

Top four is a distant dream.

It's not a distant dream steve. I see it as, it wouldn't surprise me either way.

Agree Sano, i just don't see this team having the cajones for a prolonged fight in the league. There are lots of goings on that are not positive.

I would agree if the immediate contenders weren't all so unpredictable.

Lose tomorrow night and it's a very very long way back for us.
Liverpool are unpredictable but have shown when they get it right they can be totally unplayable and can totally blow teams away, I don't think we have that about us anymore.
We are very suspect at the back poor in the middle and a lot less than prolific in front of goal too, we can still play pretty football at times and enjoy a lot of the ball most games but everyone we play against gets a good fww chances to score against us including Newcastle last week and if like United did they take them we are done for simply because we are so wasteful in the final 3rd ourselves.

Same again g62, if we lose tomorrow it just looks more unlikely not very, very unlikely.

I guess so Sanogo mate but I agree with Dags, go for the europa league first and foremost because there is much more recognition in winning the europa than coming 4th in the premier league plus there is a trophy others can see too not just the Arsenal fans who share the same optician as Arsene.

I think it says so much that in December we are debating Arsenals chances of 4th and not 1st place in the league.
For me that says it all about just how far we have gone in the wrong direction with no sign of anything changing in the near future other than possibly going further backwards.
Time for change?
How much longer and how much more do we have see before something finally brings the change that's so desperately needed?
Stale beyond the edibility in my view.

Klopp " Oxlade Chamberlain was not asked to get involved in goals by Arsenal" He also wasnt asked to disappear during games but he managed that!

To be fair, if Chamberlain had not run really fast down countless dead ends then given the ball away, or crossed to a team mate rather than the opposing touch line or maybe got a shot at the thing with a net on it instead of to a mate in the crowd he would have had a wonderful goals scored and assist record.

Time will tell whether Klopp is correct or not. Although I wanted Ox to stay, I can't say we have missed him and Maitland-Niles is developing well as cover for Bellerin.

Stoner 🤣

Does Klopp realise Ox has only scored one goal for them and it was a meaningless goal against Maribor.

The press are getting carried away because he had a very very good game for us against Bournemouth the other night, we will see if he can do it consistently now but it looks promising.

He also scored against West Ham dags. The Ox has been much improved of late and actually looking like a good signing. Just have a look at his performance on the weekend, absolutely outstanding! It's a well known fact that Wenger isn't the best coach, he may be a good manager but not a coach, and he simply doesn't get the best out of his players.

To be honest Dags I’m not sure what Klopp realises as he still thinks Mignolet is a great keeper and Klavan a quality centre back. 😉.

You will have no problem tomorrow if we are as bad as you say then stoner?

Den,

We are about as much use as a chocolate fire door when it matters so I wouldn’t fret mate. It will be a pleasant surprise if we muster a great performance.

I’m more having a laugh about some of the drivel these managers come out with.

Mourinho even had the cojones to say Bristol City were lucky. He is the champion of chatting utter 💩.

Also are you saying Migs and Klavan are quality! 😉.

DaRedMan,
Thanks mate. Didn't realise 👍.

They are definitely not quality but they can do a job if the manager sets up the right way and to be fair they are not going to come out and slate their own players. Wenger used to love the ox but basically accused him of being the reason you lost 4-0 at the start of the season today, I wouldn't pay much attention to what managers say if they can eek out a tiny psychological advantage they will. For me there is very little in it between Liverpool, arsenal and spurs, we are the better team going forward, Spurs are the better team at the back when they are fit and arsenal have a decent balance. I still think your two wantaways will cost you but it should be a decent race for top 4 as I'm not 100% that Chelsea are as good as everyone thinks as well.

Den,

I agree, aside from Mourinho who has slated a few of his own. I don’t actually care what they say to be honest, most of it is hilarious waffle.

I definitely never listen to Wenger, he regurgitates the same drivel every time.

Let’s just hope it’s another 7 goal thriller, I was at that game! 🙄 but in our favour this time. 😁.
