Gents,

A simple yes or no>>>>>

Will we win the league?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Without reinforcements I can't see it, will I ever believe we can't, never!

Agree0 Disagree0

No

are we explaining our answers?

Agree0 Disagree0

No
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately no

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes
I'm going with the power of optimistic

Agree0 Disagree0

No :( . .

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes

Because I have unquestionable faith in our team

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes!

If we keep winning the "ugly" games, we will win it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, no. Think we're one season away (with hopefully some good summer buys).

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure but why not? Its a 3 horse race and we are leading 16 lengths from home

Agree0 Disagree0

Possibly, but think it may depend on three things.

1. Can Sanogo actually surprise us all and be something of player in the last third of the season.

2. Do Man City become over confident?

3. How well do the relegation fighting teams play at the death.

I would love it if we do, although if we end up within 5 - 6 points of the winners then we are definitely going in the right direction.

And Make BFG Captain, with Flamini Vice Captain. They bleed Arsenal. Big Per is SOOOOO animated when we win! Love it!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with LG

next season I think we will destroy, ala city this season, but we will carry this good ugly winning tactic into next season but only have to deploy it 10 times say.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes

Why not with injuries we are top over the first half of the season keep showing the same attitude in every game we will continue to get results. I am very optimistic!

Agree0 Disagree0

6 no's and 4 yes,

hhmm sounds right

Agree0 Disagree0

Sadly not, if TW was fit and we had someone to back Giroud up then it would be a yes, we are getting stronder elsewhere

Hey Ed.

Do you happen to know what Wenger plans to do with Diaby? Will he be leaving in summer, if not how long is he contracted for?

Much appreciated

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - his contract ends in 2015, but its not a worry, as Diaby dosen't want to take his wage

Total respect to him, there's plenty who would take every penny and more if they could get it

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Ed027, if that's true about him not taking a wage. I have a huge respect for him and think he's a credit to the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed027's Note - though I would imagine he is taking some sort of sum just not all of it

Diaby has gone up in my estimations.

Apparently we're odds on to sign cavani, any truth in this ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - would he move, 6 months after joining? He's doing we'll at PSG, If he moves it will be summer

21 Jan 2014 19:31:45
Look gooners I know we have been linked with a lot of players in this window ( as we always do).Just be patient and wait to the last three days we will sign someone. Much like the özil deal (who expected that!) we won't predict it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have a feeling we won't make any signings and the club will announce the contract extensions of Wenger and Mertesacker, to deflect criticism.

Got my ticket for Friday night. . . only in the Cov end lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ouch lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't worry I've heard only 7 of their 26 fans are travelling to the Emirates.

Agree0 Disagree0

They have sold 5, 100 tickets, I was in their end the last time we played them ( 6-1), should be a laugh, most around me realised I was a giiner when I was singing Santi. lol

so bayern would like to sign rosicky? I smell a rat and his name is pep! he was great at this sort if stuff before we played barca! he must be scared! let's hope we get a strong ref in these games!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Have Bayern got much better since last year? We have got a lot better. I'd be scared if I were him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would he go to Bayern? He's 33 and would like to have a pleasurable amount of gametime. Plus, he has said that his dream would be to retire at Arsenal.

Just had wee look at Manchester United page and they seem to desperate to sign anyone to save there season. mata cabaye both getting many mentions vidal also. aren't we glad we don't have to panic buy anyone this month other than another striker maybe

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lol great post that mate,

So u are glad u dnt have to panic buy like Manchester United this month because the only panic buy u need is a striker?
Ummmm. so ure not panic buying this month? Or your not panicked about going the whole season competing for titles with 1 decent striker?

Agree0 Disagree0

There is a lot of talk about vidal, pogba, reus and Gundongan on the man u page. these are all top class players who are playing for big successful clubs. they are more or less guaranteed CL football next year which they may not get at united depending on how the rest of the season goes. I am not sure that any of them will want to join united now in the run up to a world cup. some might wait and MAYBE join in the summer after seeing the final league position but they might choose not to if they are only offered Europa league or maybe no European football at all. just my opinion but maybe they should set their sights a bit lower to players who are better than they currently have but not the top worldies until the ship is steadied under the ew manager

CTR giroud is the man I think dags and other fellow gooners would say also an extra striker would be welcome but if it doesn't happen cest la vie. Do you think utd need to stregthen your squad this month?

Agree0 Disagree0

I may be wrong but but the way United are performing this season I could only guess that the reason any top player would want to go there at the moment would be for the money. A couldn't see a top notch player taking a chance of ending up playing in the Europa league next season if they joined in this window. Also I believe they are going to go through the stages we went through a while back a stages of transition and that could take a while to level out.

Agree0 Disagree0

CTR, you've got four good strikers and yet you're still rubbish. Our 1 striker is doing just fine thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not getting involved lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Ctr tell that to Podolski when he rips you a new one next time we play you!

do any of the EDs know if the club is looking to move bendtner on this window, or if they intend to keep him till the summer where he can leave on a free? Thanks in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - he'll leave in the summer, we want to keep him or now

21 Jan 2014 13:38:14
Just a thought about why Podolski hasn't been featuring as much recently.

Many think that Wenger doesn't favour him, but I would argue that while Bendtner has been injured, Wenger felt it was wiser to keep Poldi on the bench in case of an injury to Giroud, whereas if both players were on the field, we have no other players who can jump straight in to the CF position (unless we want to see Park or Sanogo in the EPL), especially with Walcott also out.

Now that Bendtner is supposed to be back for Coventry on Friday (fingers crossed), I think we will see Podolski a lot more.

Thoughts and opinions welcomed,
Peace,
Trinidad-Gooner

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You do have a fair point Trinidad, maybe Wenger does'nt like playing Podolski if Giroud is fit in case of an injury to either or both.

I have heard it been said, that Wenger thinks Podolski is a bit lazy, thus offering little or no protection to Keiran Gibbs at left back, personally I don't agree too much with that one.

Agree0 Disagree0

When Bendtner was fit he bought him on instead of Podolski so I do not agree. Sorry!

Agree0 Disagree0

Podolski lacks fitness, it is there for all to see.

he played against fulham, and besides the fact he got some great shots on goal, he did nothing else to help in the build up play, or create width on the pitch.

he is still a goal scoring option, but beyond that he does not add much in terms of team play.

i love the guy, I think he just needs to improve his game play, but then again, he is 28 and i'm not sure he has another level, perhaps his best days are behind him, and his best use at Arsenal are as a sub.

With the likes of Gnabry, walcott, Ox, wilshere, ramsey, ozil, cazorla, rosicky fighting for the 3 midfield spots behind the striker, I find it hard to find him a place besides as cover for giroud.

not like he can play deep with Flamini and Arteta, and even at that point we have the likes of rosicky and ramsey to cover that position.

so podolski is on the outside looking in, but if he is happy to be a sub, then i'm happy for him to be the depth we need at Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Usually I agree with your posts laker, but I think you are wrong about podli at fullham,

i saw him moving all over that front line desperate to get a sight on goal.

he's as direct as rosicky, which atm isn't our style but we need it to win games.

id take poldi over any of our other left sided players atm, with walcott out the balance of pace isn't so different from each flank, and he is our best finisher imho.

ozil feeding him balls throught the defence is what I see podli doing soon, inst ead of this methodical buildup play we are playing at the moment poldi and rosicky are both players who will hit you hard if they can.
giroud is letting every midfielder around him get a shot on goal and he gets the odd header or tap in, but he's not the best at shooting on his own.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm Chess that's a good point I didn't realize that.

My only explanation for that would be (and I know this might sound crazy) that maybe Wenger honestly feels that Bendtner is better suited to replacing Giroud at CF that Podolski is? Even though overall I would say the Pod is the better player.

Again, just a thought. No one really knows what goes on in Arsene's head! lol

Podolski is a cracking player with a bullet of a shot on him and brilliant ball distribution. I feel Wenger doesn't use him beacause:

A) Cazorla and Rosicky are playing better at the moment. And Ox offers pace while Walcott is out. These players are better suited to the way we play.

B) He is direct, at the moment we have been leading games and not needed a more attacking, different/direct approach. Against West Ham we needed goals fast so brought Pod on.

C) Monreal has been starting over Gibbs recently, who has a amazing chemistry with Cazorla in the left. Last year Pod and Gibbs were very good together.

D) Pod struggles for fitness and gets injured alot. Why unnecassarily risk him, we are short up top anyway.

E) He doesn't play up top on his own to well, and Wenger rarely goes with two Strikers anymore he prefers 3 advanded midfielders and 2 holding.

Shame really, I love the guy, unfortunate he has to sit on the sidelines, but this happens when you have strenght in depth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Podolski work rate is terrible, defensively he gives no cover whatsoever. but is very direct and gives us something very different to the other midfielders we play in advanced positions. Walcott is the same on the right, Podolski gives us goals. In the system we play, Podolski is almost a luxury, particularly if we play Walcott too.

I'm against selling him tho, even in part exchange for Draxler. Does prove though that if its true, Wenger is ruthless and will do whatever it takes to whoever to improve the team.

What about Immobile or Berardi? And keep bendtner this season!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't believe they are any better than benson or hedges!

Santi Cazorla has been pulled up by Arsenal f.c for being caught in a picture holding a inappropriate sign relating to totteringham f.c. I completely agree with the action taken by the club. The handwriting was appalling!
Falling for such things can be very easy when English is your second language, as things can get lost in translation. So a level of understanding should be applied if you are a foreign player, or Paul Merson!

I am so glad I have this arsenal haven to come back to, reading comments on this 'news' story is rediculous.

other clubs fans saying its comepletely out of order.

what that he swore or that he is showing support to our rivalry?

im not 100% on santi's side though, his defence of 'i didn't understand' is pretty weak, for starters pries was stood next to him, who speaks english, they probably had a wild laugh about it :P

so basically in conclusion

players should be able to diss over clubs, all they are doing is stopping said club from ever wanting to sign them, if it wasnt one of our chants ( the same chant every london team has tbh, I know fullham supporters sing it about chelsea)
then i'd be upset that he's swearing but other than that its silly!

OOOOOOHHHHH we 8 tot'nam, we 8 tot'nam, we 8 tot'nam, we 8 tot'nam
we are the tot'nam haters!

Why not just stick a 30m bid for benzema? Test the waters. If liverpool don't get in top 4 I think madrid will bid 70m and get him. So possibly even get benzema in the summer

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Might have something to do with Benzema and Ribery being on trial for the next few days and possibly facing jail time. Wenger is probably waiting to see the outcome of that first.

honestly I thought bergkamp was odds on to come over for the youth job,

Fair play to wenger though, this guy will know what he's doing regardless of where he comes from, in wenger I trust on the staff front, because us fans' will never know how good they are in reality.
