Hi eds any update on the Gabriel situation? Cheers

Can we argue exceptional talent and that paulista would bring excitement and enjoyment to England through scoring quality own goals?

I remember seeing a few videos of this!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think the fact he is 24 we could struggle. But I don't get the work permit in football issue. His taxes alone would do Britain some good. he's not coming to work on asda and won't be on benefits

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I pay my tax but still need a work permit.}

21 Jan 2015 18:58:55
Seen the one against Barcelona, should be voted goal of the season:)

21 Jan 2015 20:26:38
He's a right sided CB so could pair with Kos over BFG

Agree0 Disagree0

Your post totally swings it for me Ozil, sign him what ever the price it will be fantastic value for money

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 17:36:01
Purely my own opinion but I think the young Brazilian is a blag to make West ham think we're looking at other options so as to get Reid that bit cheaper.
If he doesn't go now he's worth nothing in the summer so its a buyers market and 5million deadline day I believe Arsene is confident will be enough.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cunning plan g62, hope you're right

Agree0 Disagree0

They don't call you dirty Dirk Dagala for nothing do they :-)
Sometimes you stoop lower than a German giant at set pieces

Did I upset you lot when I said would you consider selling Jack and Ozil for £65m?

Blimey, what a sensitive bunch of namby pambies you lot are.

Smiley face and big hugs :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Didn't upset me, jacks a keeper and I'd sell ozil for a bar of fruit and nut, still what do I know!

After all the stick you took for your Remy man love I'm saying all's fair in love and war!

Do it again mind and I'll kick off! ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Remy should of been our signing over welbeck. The fact he cost 6mill less is a snip

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 18:52:56
Pointless having a banter page if we all agree on the same thing (except your jokes, we all agree on them).

Agree0 Disagree0

Dags, you didn't upset me, I found my prozac in the dogs bed

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 21:33:20
Lol,

What are you boys like? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozil and wilshere do they play for arsenal? not seen them on the pitch

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2015 10:18:05
Well it caused a big debate and isn't that what this whole site is about? Each of us sharing our opinions on others comments, so all you did dags was ask a question and we all commented, no different to any other post ^-^ but I accept your hug and kiss, just don't do it again or no more jokes from you! ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

337, Jack is actually a midfielder

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes actually...a liability..

I actually knew some smart 4rse would pick up the "keeper" bit, surprised it took so long tpg

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha I know I was reading the replies expecting it but it wasn't there so I had to do the honours :) Also, thanks but I'm really not that smart 337.

P.S. I think you're being a tad harsh there Ed, he actually does a decent job on each of his annual appearances

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he can be a fine player TPG, he does not help himself half the time though mate..

Agreed Ed, that about sums him up at the moment. Although he did seem a bit more focused up until this recent injury - almost like Wenger had told him he's running low on chances.

Agree0 Disagree0

It probably sounds hypocritical after spending so much of this season moaning about not buying a DM in the summer but the hunt for Danger mouse should be suspended at least if not cancelled because of Coquelins sudden burst to the forefront.
While we should demand or expect perfection from him as I'm sure they'll be blips he does deserve a run of games to see if he really is the answer which obviously we all hope he is

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Obviously that should have read we shouldn't demand too much of him, oooops again

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 21:35:18
I don't think he has put a foot wrong and is very disciplined.

Worth keeping him as our Danger Mouse until the end of the season me thinks.

Just to warn you all ---- I have had quite a long period of rarely at all being able to post and almost never being able to reply. This has been due to broadband problems of low speed and continuous dropping out sessions.
Has been very frustrating to the point of taking up drink (again).

Thanks to the gods for finally digging up half the Yorkshire countryside and putting fibre down I can post a load of bo((ox whenever I feel like it - might even comment on some of Dags infamous attempts at jokes!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Nice to see you back posting.}

21 Jan 2015 17:03:45
Do you want me to post a backlog of all my jokes?

I don't mind, honest :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I think we'll give that a swerve.}

Jokes? Surely you can be prosecuted for calling them that?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 21:36:20
I have feelings you know :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps the worst bit about the problems I was having was that I could actually see all the posts but not have the right of reply.

So in answer to your question about reposting all your jokes for my benefit would have to be :
Fer fax sake please no!!!! I am a very regular person in the defacation department so I get to see all the SH*TE I want without logging on!

Today's papers seem to have given up with us signing forwards - today its defensive reinforcements!

Tiote (Newcastle) and Gabriel Paulista (Villarreal).

I do love January!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think Paulista is a believable target, I don't know much about him though. I can't see us bringing in a DM this window but if we bring in a more experienced cb and I will be happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think AW will do is make do with what we have now (probably Coquelin plus a fit player from Wilshire, Ramsay, Cazorla or Flamini alongside if we go 2 in front of the defence) in anticipation of grabbing Schneiderlin in the summer. I kind of agree, I think Schneiderlin is probably one of the best holding midfielders around right now and its I'd rather tough it out till the Summer than buy someone not as good now.

Paulista looks almost certain to join judging by other sites, able to play at full back or in the middle, 24 years of age and Brazilian. ticks a few boxes!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 08:45:39
Ed, reports saying there's issues with Paulista's work permit if we sign him, you heard anything similar?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, he hasn't made enough appearances for his country to qualify, so it would need to be on the exceptional talent clause.}

I'm really not getting this one at all, why are we trying to sign a CD for 10-15m with permit problems when Winston Rweid can be got for half the price and is ready to go in the EPL?

Something smells fishy!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 15:11:54
Did we not sign Miyachi though that clause?

Also is that how Willian and Oscar got to Chelsea - I know Oscar was playing in the under21s not sure about the firsts.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 16:13:22
Also how Leicester signed Andrej Kramaric in the current window.

As Ed001 said, the player has to demonstrate exceptional talent and would improve the English game/league.

All depends how Arsenal argue it

21 Jan 2015 17:07:57
Totally agree 337,

Happy birthday mate. :-)

How about Ox huh!?!? For me his strength and better dribble I like him over theo . He's better in the tackle too!! A lot to look forward to with the ox! He's so young still

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ox is by far our most underrated player by most fans.
Monreal can do no right and Gibbs and Mertaducker no wrong and Ox? Well he's pretty much invisible.
Strange thing is a lot of fans from other clubs rate him massively, weird

Agree0 Disagree0

G62
Love the ox but he still frustrates me as he does still get the old three lemons up in his brain as soon as he gets near goal - at present he hast far less end product in either goals or assists than his ability, strength and pace should allow him. I am sure he will get better. The jury is still out for me about Gibbs - needs to do better at both ends of the park.
I absolutely PRAY that MO gets the magic back - I am convinced that it's been fitness and confidence only that has caused his lack of star quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 14:25:52
Fantastic player, once he starts adding goals to his game he will be awesome. Love him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mertesacker can do no wrong? Everyone has been on his back whether it's people on here, pundits on match of the day or people I see at the pub etc.

Also, I have always thought Monreal was not good enough even though I admired his attitude. However, this season he is slowly making me eat my words but I think he has genuinely improved as opposed to me being wrong about him in the first place.

Ox is underrated but I sense people are starting to appreciate him, his international displays are great aswell.

Agree0 Disagree0

My point on Mertaducker ( sorry Dags:-) is if Monreal had done what he did at Stoke and Liverpool he would have been booed every time he touched the ball in every game since but for some reason its no big deal for Orville to do it.
Monreal is doing ok and ALWAYS gives his all even if its not always as good as we or he would like it to be at times its 100% effort in every game

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 21:19:58
Love me some Ox tail. When queried at the start of this season on here, I picked him for our most improved. He compliments Alexis so well, both work so hard with and most importantly, without the ball. Wingers in attack, midfielders when we're trying to get it back.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You may do better to reword the first sentence.}

The Mertesacker ducks were treated as big deals though, by people on here, pundits, the media and the public.

That point about Monreal would be booed every touch of the ball is a complete guess and I doubt it, agree on what you say though - his effort is faultless and his performances are getting better too.

Agree0 Disagree0

What has happened to the Bielik transfer. seemed to be all go and he was 'reported' to be having a medical last Friday - now it's all gone quiet!

Also - why are people being so negative about Jack and Mesut? Jack was playing really well and got assaulted on the park - Mesut had a serious injury and has only just started to come back.
All of a sudden people want to sell them for peanuts and buy almost anyone from any tram that's at least 10 points below us in the league?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree this season so far Jacks done nothing wrong, in the past he's been a spoilt brat who thinks he's a super star but a lot of people agreed in August this was a make or break season and to back him during it as long as he kept to his word of knuckling down.
Personally I can't see what he's done wrong apart from pick up a no fault injury this season so far

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 09:32:21
There will be those who say his injury was his fault still though.

Everyone saw he was hacked down and McNair went unpunished.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2015 10:20:36
Totally agree about Jack (as always) why when we have the basis of a great squad do we want to start selling players off.

We need to add not take away. Wenger will not be selling Jack any time soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Two seasons ago Jack could do no wrong and any critics on here were dealt with by a barrage of hostility but now its gone full circle
He's been a victim of his own well over inflated ego no question about that and he's in the last chance saloon with the nation with players like Barkley overtaking him not just Arsenal where Ox and Ramsey have left him for dead which he does seem to have grasped.
No false praise no which hunt just judge him from August until he either proves or disproves himself to be a good player over the coming 18 months.
If he keeps his mouth shut and attitude good he has a real chance of turning things around

Agree0 Disagree0

Jack is a top footballer and Arsenal through and through, unfortunately the way he plays with his heart on his sleeve he gets injured a lot.

I hope as he matures his body toughens up because he can be one of the best midfielders england have produced.

Ozil, different story he plays with his heart somewhere else and needs to step up or go.

Agree0 Disagree0

The way he goes into tackles is always the same. its no fluke he is always injured from those knocks

his body is glass. unlike messi and ronaldo who get back up. he's out for ages,

Agree0 Disagree0

On Krystian Bielik. Legia Warsaw have apparently confirmed his transfer this morning.

Agree0 Disagree0

We should leave him at his club until the summer in my view

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree about Jack ECE. These are the same fickle fans who were probably calling for Ramsey to go when he was struggling for form - Coquelin and Cazorla too once upon a time, just to name a few!

Arsene is extremely loyal, too loyal some would say but there is much more point in persevering with a player you know has talent instead of getting rid everytime someone goes off the boil. It's like with Ozil, I have no idea how long Wenger will have the patience, but should he come back and become the number 10 we know he can be, everyone will be singing AW's praises.

Agree0 Disagree0

Krystian Bielik transfer confirmed by Arsenal.
