So it looks like that soon our best forwards until the end of the season are:
Mesut Özil
Alexandre Lacazette
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Henrikh Mkhitaryan

That's two number 10's and two strikers. How are we going to fit them in the same starting line up? Surely they are too good to be benched. Someone's have to play on the wings. But why can't we simply sign two wingers instead of having to play players out of position? I have to say I'm a bit puzzled but if Mislintat, Sanllehi and Wenger truly want these players to come then by all means.

Frankly i would rather give up on this season, take the money for Sanchez, Özil and Wilshere, play Maitland-Niles, Iwobi and even Nelson more and then rebuild in the summer when there's potentially a new coach at the club. Signing these players means we're going for the top four still and if we finish there then this spending spree has been justified though.

Ozil hasn't signed and mhkitaryan would be his replacement if he went. All the said players are replacing players left or leaving. Ox, walcott, sanchez and maybe giroud. Out and out wingers are not used in the modern game but every one signed can play central or wide. can't people see we are losing players so we need "better" to try and get back CL football. If we miss out this year it will be disasterous. The squad obviously needs to be stronger. let's see who we get amd see how they all fit in when we get everyone. It is desperate times.

Would love to add Mahrez to that list.

Mahrez would be a brucie bonus dags but the next areas for a rebuild are midfield and defence but a total rebuild might have to wait til summer.

The real world we operate in and something Pep doesn't need to worry about at mo eye bags City :

"if the Aubameyang deal goes through then Arsenal will have no signficiant funds left for further signings, according to the BBC. "

Which means my desire for us to sign Mahrez, Evans and Nzonzi is somewhat out of our reach. Crazy as that's not a huge huge ask. Especially as we have sold Theo and made money in the last window!

We have loads of cash, ox money covered lacaztte, plus Walcott 20
Le coq 12
All the sales from last year think is about 45
Plus they said we had 150 million last year and spent none plus we should have momey this year
Money isn’t the object it’s spending it.

Agree with the above. The idea that Arsenal only had £20m available this window (Auba - Walcott and Coquelin) is bizarre as well as wrong. That said, Wenger should at least extract Mahrez from Leicester, an obvious replacement for Sanchez, and a CM (perhaps Jorhinho) .

I don't think it's a case of no funds it's just with transfers, wages, agents fees etc, this will all have to be taken into account also, I dare say Miki and Aubameyang will come with a hefty wage bill, also renewing the likes of Ozil, Wilshere and Ramsey will not be cheap, therefore any other targets will be for the summer no doubt.

Celebrations for the fourth goal reminded me of the celebrations for Sanchez's Goslar recently - oh wait, no it didn't. The team truly respect Ozil and love to see a striker end his goal drought.

No sour grapes - I have always thought Ozil > Sanchez.

We need to build around him and Lacazette plus give the team the defensive confidence it lacks due to weak discipline and defensive strategy

Let's aldo add competition, width and pace

Roll on next season but in the meantime - Let's take the cups seriously

Sign up Keown! Him and Lehman would make for an insane dressing room atmosphere

COYGs.

I've not even seen Malcom play so no idea how good he is or could be, and I'm not expecting any points for originality here, but mightn't we be better to look closer to home for some left wing inspiration?
What about Ryan Sessegnon? I'm not suggesting this on the back of his performance yesterday for Fulham who were my tips-for-the-top-at-the-beginning-of-the-season-so-I-am-egging-them-on, but he has something of the Gareth Bale about him: starting as a defender but seems pretty useful up the top. I realise Bale may not be everyone's flavour on these pages, but I for one would have had him, even if he did play for Them Up The Road.
We have Monreal and Kolasinac for left back/ left wing back duties, and again, whilst Monreal might not be seen as long term he looked pretty good at left back yesterday.

Oh, and Wenger out.

Good performance and win against Palace. Players coming back from injury are a positive and we need to tie up the transfers of Mhykhitarian and P-E A. Then get a CB in, possibly Evans a DM, Nzonzi.
Interesting that we enquired about Shaw in the Sanchez deal. A replacement for Monreal or Kolasinac? Wenger's limited use of Kolasinac is odd.
It concerns me that we have so many creative players that can't defend: Ozil, Iwobi and now Mhylhitarian.
We also need to secure deals for Ozil and Wilshere. The back four yesterday looked fairly solid and should start on Wednesday, with Kolasinac in for the injured Monreal. Would love to get through to the final of the League Cup, it would be great for the teams confidence.

Ed 001 do you think arsenal have got a good deal swapping sanchez for mk?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - god no. Sanchez is a hard working top class player who has been playing well for many years. Mkhitaryan has had a few good weeks in his entire career, a couple at the start of this season and a few more at Dortmund, is lazy, has an attitude and is not in the same league in terms of quality, attitude and application. Mind, he will fit better in at Arsenal, as he doesn't expect to win regularly, he will be happy playing on social media etc, so he does have the right mindset.}

21 Jan 2018 06:59:34
So in short ed! If you were a united fan you would have laughed your stones out of their bags?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - no, because most United fans believe those couple of weeks at the start of the season is the level Mkhitaryan actually is normally at. That is his peak form, but he very rarely does anything much for months at a time when I have seen him. However he has a burst of pace that gets him the odd moment that translates well on youtube clips. If Wenger could get him playing to his best regularly, then you have an excellent player. However he just doesn't tend to bother for weeks at a time and got all arsey when Klopp was his manager because he was expected to work hard.}

21 Jan 2018 08:29:01
Well after that summary it sounds like he’s found his forever club. We can only but hope that he finds good form more often. It appears to be a problem with players that there’s always excuses like the manager made me play like this or the style wasn’t suited instead of taking heed and actually identifying why they don’t push on a level. Some players seem so mentally fragile in this day and age.
