Banter please Ed.

I heard rumours that when flying in to meet with Madrid reps, Arsenal reps flew into Italy accidentally and that, as we have heard in the Vietnam plans, we cannot read maps.

rosicky would of been sold last summer if he had not had an injury.

he is talking to clubs now.

cesc is his replacement.

malaga gooner

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He signed a new contract just before the end of last season. So why would he have been sold? And cesc won't be moving this summer

3434

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree 3434

Agree0 Disagree0

If Rosicky is speaking to other clubs, then that is a shame.
He has had a rotten time with injuries since he has been with us, but when he has been fit has always given 100%.
He has over the last couple of seasons, helped us reach top 4 in PL. Can't see Cesc at Arsenal this coming season though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahhaaaaahaha you crack me up! what do you smoke to see these visions?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said 3434. Malaga has been spouting this rubbish about Rosicky for 2 years. Eventually when he goes/retires he'll claim his first correct ITK post.

The only way Cesc will leave is if Barca are shown to be liars by signing another attacking mid, like Mata, and Cesc being pushed further down the pecking order

Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

Hurray for 3434 - simple common sense. Cesc is not coming back to Arsenal. Xavi is 34 this coming season and will not be able to simply keep going at 60 plus games a year, and Thiago looks like a possible move to United.
Barcelona are the club Cesc loves and he was so desperate to return to, he simply will not leave so quickly. As for Rosicky leaving, well yes one day he will but I get the feeling not yet, why would he when both the club and he seem happy.
Malaga posts so much rubbish that you should give him his own page - fun at times - but kind of boring and irritating after a while.

I'm new to this site but I've supported Arsenal all my teenage years and childhood, so it is the first really big transfer activity that I'll witness.

I hope for;
Higuain - classy finisher with great technique, hope that the deal can be finalised pronto

Fellaini - Proven (to a certain extent) in the premier league with real strength

Cesar's - Experienced and, most of the time, a reliable keeper. Been good in the confeds cup so far.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sanogo is an arsenal player mate just not announced till july

Agree0 Disagree0

Welcome ar97 would love those 3 as well, just add hummels and you have my ideal summer

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I've heard. Although I think it's good to see young talent coming in, we need to start aiming for established players.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, Hummels would be a fantastic signing, he has a great future ahead of him. Wow, now that would be a summer transfer window to remember!

What ever happened to the Sanogo talk? Both he and Kondogbia, who we have also been linked with, scored today for France u20's. Both Very promising player who I would like to see at Arsenal

HP

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would assume the Sonogo transfer talk stopped because he joined Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought he had signed ages ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sanogo is an Arsenal player although he cannot officially sign 'til 1st July.

He has however signed a pre-contract agreed a few months ago stating that he would join the club.

Where did this rumour start about Arsenal officials are boarding the plane and flying to Madrid? Who saw them and did an official statement come from Arsenal to say what they were doing. It's not like anyone from Arsenal have made a statement and said "were off to Madrid to sign Higuain " unless I missed something.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It is the holidays after all, probably one official off to top up his tan

This higuain deal has potential to be a great deal. We get a great striker who just is an unbelievable goal scorer and we also could possibly be supplying Real Madrid the extra money needed for a bale deal. Wow how great would this be.

Steve

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If us buying higuain meant bale would go to Madrid I would be in heaven lol I work with two spurs fans and I'm also related to a spurs fan so it would be hilarious if we were the final push for his transfer!

Agree0 Disagree0

If Bale goes to Madrid, it's because Ronaldo goes to United. Spurs can keep Bale and keep finishing 5th.

Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale will not be going this summer.
If spurs finish 5th again next year, he will be gone. Yes, I'm a spurs fan and I see good business by both our clubs this summer. Looks like we have agreed to sign paulinho which is a good signing for us, as is higuain for you.
I would love to see our 2 teams push the chavs and Manchester hard next season and mess them up a bit. I know there is a big rivalry between our clubs but we both run our clubs the right way
and play very good football. Good luck next season. I'm looking forward to game 3 already.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless you make some more good signings you'll struggle to make 5th. Can't see Bale carrying you again for another season

Agree0 Disagree0

Shouldn't really agree with a spud but my personal stance on spurs has mellowed somewhat over last few seasons as long as we finish above you I would prefer your lot in top 4 than any of others purely because chelski and cities money have fuxxed the league up, and come on everyone hates scumchester utd don't they, so sound, good luck to you and yours too, just not to much eh

Hey!

I am a regular follower of arsenal rumors and I see a lot of fans excited by Higuain deal!
It is true we are in and he is close to sign, but don't be waiting a done deal in few days! It will take more time than a lot of you are predicting!
Ancelloti will be announced next week as Madrid coach as PSG are ok with Laurent Blanc to be the successor, and it depends on what Ancelloti preparing. Higuain will not leave before Madrid signs Cavani or Suarez or maybe both!
The deal can take about 2 weeks to be announced if he go through especially that Juventus, PSG and Chelsea are still monitoring Higuain situation!

I hope it go fast and confirmed soon

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The money will be in place from the Higuain deal to allow Madrid to move for Cavani. Madrid are not flush with money according to the Spanish guy that does work for sky. He spoke about Ronaldos contract as well as other things a few weeks ago. if they had the money I think Isco would be on their radar. The only think that worrys me is a late bid from city or PSG. km

1st.

You watch us.

I got 30000 / 1 on the QUADRUPLE!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol arsenal will still finish fourth, just a comfortable fourth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't it all depend who the others sign? I'm guessing United will sign the world class midfielder they so obviously need, City will spend the oil millions, and Chelski surely must improve under Mourinho?

If City didn't improve and Chelski were as weird as last season ( dependent on Lampard when Mata and Hazard couldn't do the trick), then we'd get second. The defensive midfield isn't good enough, and yes I know the defence was surprisingly strong last year but they aren't title level.

At a guess third but maybe a very comfortable fourth unless we sign the CDM and CD we have needed for a lifetime now.

Just wondering with mignolet going to Liverpool it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Arsenal could make a cheeky bid for pepe reina, anyone heard anything?
Anglesey Gooner {Ed027's Note - We will be interested

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Juve sporting director Bebbe Marotta said of Higuain
“To my knowledge, Higuain is already elsewhere”
now i’m 101% sure higuian is an arsenal player. Joyous news.
Arsenal has flown to madrid to finalise the deal

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, correct me if i'm wrong but didn't higuain state that he wants to move to a club where he starts regularly?

surely that won't happen at city with tevez and aguero there?

thanks,
Trinidad-Gooner {Ed027's Note - With rumours of Tevez possibly going....and Dzeko mind, they'll be in the hunt for 2, I can just imagine them taking Jovetic and Higuain!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with Ed027 on this.

From fully confident to absolutely bricking it in the few moments it took me to hear about the failed Cavani bid.

It's almost worth them buying him just so that we can't!

Agree0 Disagree0

I do apologize regarding my copied post above, these were not my words but another person from JustArsenal fan's site. City will still retain some interest in Jovetic after postponing a deal to sign him last summer. I can see City going back in for Cavani if i'm honest a compromise can be made somehow regarding him and Dzeko seems the likely option.

Have faith Arsenal fans Higuain will become an Arsenal player, he wants to join we have agreed personal terms and an acceptable fee has been offered. Juventus can't simply afford him but I can't see City going from entering negotiations for Cavani with a release clause of 53m and giving up on the first round.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2013 17:33:13
guys I hear we have almost signed higuian but I think jovetic would have suited us better. jovetic is a skillful dribbler while higuian is not. higuian never performs against big teams. that is his weakness. he never turns up in big matches and that is what we are not looking for but he is surely an upgrade over giroud

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Jun 2013 18:13:05
Couldn't disagree more. we need a out and out goal scorer, and that's what Higuain is. his link play is good aswell. What we need now is Walcott to pull his finger out and get behind the left back more often and get some quality balls in the middle. km

Agree0 Disagree0

We're (hopefully) buying higuain to score goals something he will do considerably better than jovetic. The skilful dribbling can be left to wilshere and Cazorla!

He'd get the opportunity to stay in the premier league, be the focus of a team and stay in london.

However if he goes to barca as rumors believe maybe we could land cesc or even sanchez.

Although the Higuain deal seems to be very close to completion, I would not be surprised if Juventus make a last gasp attempt to sign him.

Their president has openly announced today that they want Higuain. If our board were more publicly vocal in what they want and what they plan to do, I believe we would be more successful in our transfers.

Lets hope that Juventus' open-ness about Tevez and Jovetic as back-up should they not land Higuain, deter him from joining them. Unfortunately, it looks as if Real Madrid are delaying their "decision" (although we all already know they're happy for him to leave) on Higuain in an effort for more clubs to show interest and make a higher bid than us/Juventus (typical of Chelsea, Tottenham, etc) - and using the lack of a manager as a reason to do this.

Any deal should be announced from beginning to mid-July.

ASEG.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The longer it takes the more unlikely it will be.

thats how most of our transfers go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Juventus wanted RVP last year, and they ended up with Bendtner, and quite honestly, if they really wanted him, then they would have done something by now, but I just think they don't have the financial muscle that we have now. We all know what happened with Juan Mata as it seemed he was destined to join us, but I believe this time, Gonzo will become one of ours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently the deal is done but real madrid need a manager to sign off on it.

Ed, could you please share your superior knowledge with us as to if this is correct or not?

Trinidad-Gooner {Ed027's Note - No fee has been agreed with Real, new Real boss should speed this up, or even break it up

Latest Fellani news:
He is staying put at Everton for another year to see if they can get into a CL place.
Personally I feel he should move now. No way they will get there in a year. They need to invest money in players which they won't do so aren't going to get there.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dear Ed's and readers,
Whu don't we have an interest in Affelay? Barcelona are keen to sell him for just 3 mio. Sure, he's been injured a lot, but there was time Wenger thought the world of him, idd Affelay seemed cut out for the absolute top. When fit, he is one of the greatest. Robben had a similar dip in his career and look at him now. Worth a shot? vote 'beleivable'.
Petely

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Roben is in a different league to Affelay to be fair. Dunno if there is any comparison between the 2 of them. wouldn't want arsenal to buy him, there are better out there

Agree0 Disagree0

Who have you been watching?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance. we have plenty like him. we need better, don't need another gervinho

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice thought. I thought Arsenal were interested in him last summer and were hoping that RVP would stay as a result of his capture. He would be a good winger but I haven't seen too much of him. Either way I personally think that Arsenal still need to sign a winger. Nani would be a good investment, has PL and CL experience. But that's just my thought. Agree or disagree if you want as you're entitled to your own opinion. At the end of the day I am a Arsenal fan and I just want the club to start winning trophies again. Higuain set for medical very shortly, should get everything confirmed soon and ready to sing on july 1st.

Fellaini deal being worked on still, wenger very keen on completing it quickly to avoid other clubs becoming involved.

Fabregas won't be coming, don't get your hopes up.

Ashley Williams looks unlikely as he would mainly be used as a backup CB, expect another CB instead, possible big german signing.

Heard that m'vila is being looked at again as he doesn't like russia, hope not though.

Joel Campbell sent on loan to crystal palace if permit can be sorted.

Ed, if arsenal raise their wage cap this summer, are there any other players who have it in their contract that they will get their wages matched with highest earner?

The Goon

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Jun 2013 15:25:23
Higuain is close, but not 'set to have medical' close. So that's loose speculation.

Your stuff about Fabregas, Fellaini and Williams is media guff - you cannot possibly know in precise detail.

M'Vila is, again, purely the press. No way we're looking at him again if we're 'working on a Fellaini deal'.

Finally, Joel Campbell doesn't need a work permit to play in England now. He has 24 caps for country and has played in both Spain and France.

You may not have been trying to sound like an ITK, but either way you could try not spouting and reposting what the media have been whipping up.

Higuan deal definately not agreed with either Madrid or the player himself, Juventus are still very much in the running. Jovetic is also a no go because of the inflated transfer fee not being value for money, Chelsea and City still interested. This is why Arsenal briefly looked into signing Carrol but again wages and fee were just too high

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lol I'm sorry but there is absolutely no way that arsenal looked into signing Carroll - probably just the mirror or whoever it was having a laugh. Aside from Bale, Carroll has to be the player we were least likely to sign

Once Arsenal have completed the signing of Higuain expect Wenger to turn his attention to Sam Byram of Leeds Wengewr believes him as an ideal replacement for Sagna and will rotate them this year with Byram set to take the role on fully the following season. Fee to be in the region of £10-£12Mill.

Ever since the whole Malaga Gooner and Hazard incident that I got hyped about (turns out all for nothing), I've been very cautious about believing rumours. In other words, I don't believe anything until it's confirmed by Arsenal.

Although, I've seen a lot of people saying that Higuain is a certainty to sign for Arsenal and the deal is just about done.
Hopefully these rumours are true, Higuain is a gun striker. One of the best chance to goal ratios, something we desperately need.

Eds/posters, out of 10,

How likely is it that Higuain will sign for Arsenal?

And also, if a deal is 'done', why hasn't it been announced that we have reached an agreement to sign him, so other clubs can't get him?

Thanks guys,

Nick.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd say 8/10 to sign. Everything is gathering quite a bit of pace.

3434

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't really say out of 10 how likely mate - it could be nailed on, terms agreed, but then one club he is happy to also go to comes in with an offer of a bit more and there goes our signing.

I am bitter about Mata for example but the problem is Chelsea would have just kept going until his price was higher than £30m because it's what they do. Until we're prepared to go above and beyond, our chances are at best 50/50 with regards to any signing.

I don't know why we haven't offered £30m for him, he's an unbelievable player and in today's market that's an average price for a striker of his talents/conversion+ experience+age.

That said, we all know deals can often be done weeks before the media even starts speculating. There's nothing to say we haven't had a deal agreed for weeks but the clubs want to wait before making an announcement. This could be because of the manager fiasco, or it could be because the selling club want to get a replacement in place before Higuain's sale is announced, which means they might also have to wait for the replacement's club to get their replacement player too - you just never know what goes on behind closed doors, one thing we all know for certain is the media rarely has a clue when it comes to Arsenal. It seems that with regards to other clubs they tend to be spot on e. g. Chelsea, City etc but with us, almost never.

As for the malaga rumours, I know we all got burned but make no mistake, we were interested in Hazard, everyone knows that. I think the main problem is that Malaga says 'we are 100% signing X' instead of saying 'we're looking at X' haha.

End of the day he and I both said a long time ago Song was off and we were right. People on here went awol when it happened like they didn't know but it was obvious. We were interested in Hazard, we had agreed terms with Mata, we'd probably even agreed terms with Cahill, we placed a huge bid for Goetze that got KBd. Hell we were bidding £20m for Reina 3 years ago!

A lot goes on that ends up resulting in no signings but it doesn't mean you should be apprehensive of rumours. Things just don't work out. Trouble is with us it's far too often, and for that reason I can understand why we 'let it out' that we're interested in one players while we do deals with another.

As for this Southampton/Cardiff Wanyama stuff, this could be true but could also be total nonsense from his agent or the club trying to get a bidding war. There are plenty of DMs out there at reasonable prices and Wanyama is not a cut above many, he's just 'as good', so the specific demand for him is not there especially given the league he plays in. So if Celtic are trying to spark some kind of bidding war to up the price he goes for then that would make sense. Can't see Cardiff or Saints capturing him tbh.

I almost have to totally disengage from AFC during this period, for my own sanity. A few weeks ago I was uber positive but one bad night's sleep and suddenly things look bad, so I just have to distract myself and see what happens!

Agree0 Disagree0

Metal, you seem to be the first person on this site that understands how we missed out on Mata. Chevski kept on bidding higher! {Ed027's Note - We pulled out of Mata, the deal was done, Mata wanted to come, Wenger bottled it (Reyes) (risks), we pulled out Chelsea sealed the deal, biggest mistake in a while, but then think we wouldn't of had Santi

Ed, theoretically why wouldn't Wenger bottle the Higuain deal? {Ed027's Note - He could do, but now we can take risks, the money is there to be spent, before it was there but we needed it for cover

2 Man U 58. 03%
3 Liverpool 57. 19%

2 Spurs 49%
3 Arsenal 48%

Total Chances Created

It will be interesting to see the same stats, but just from the last games. I wouldn't be suprised if we are on top

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow fascinating. I wonder how many points we dropped because of those goals conceded as a result of an error?

Shows what could happen if we cut out mistakes

I have said this enough times Rosicky, Ramsey and Wilshere do not contribute enough in creating chances, and our wing back don't either. This makes a massive difference. Look at Liverpool, all their mids create chances and Johnson spends half the game in the box! Then Sagna who can't cross a ball or make an assist :/
Same with Zab, he's like Alves in terms of his contribution in attack.

We need ACMs badly. Also ACMs who can play wide. E. g. Hazard and Mata. Santi is ineffective until he drifts inside.

Look how creative Coutinho will be for Liverpool next season - he will be next season's Mata mark my words! Unbelievable player, he makes passes like Fabregas, not even Hazard and Mata make the passes he does - you can do that kind of stuff when you feed a player as good as Suarez, the ball is like a magnet to his feet! Who in our front line can receive a pass from any angle at pace? Probably none. Basically we need a talent update!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice post metal giving some of our lads a nice write up, the lad is really class and your word he could be the next seasons mata is spot on. If the mighty reds don't win the league i'm gunning for the gunners to win it mate. All the best for next season lads YNWA

If its about the Hazards and Matas, Chelsea's name should be first here!

Lanz {Ed027's Note - weren't in for Hazard last summer, it was the summer before that, when we got Gervinho

Agree0 Disagree0

Last 10 games 2 errors no goals as a direct result ( well that's what opta claim) although I can clearly remember Sagna making a mistake and then trying to cover up and giving away a penalty against Man U. Not sure how they calculate this to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

Opta, did an individual error points gained points lost table. Arsenal apparently win the league. Sounds pretty questionable to me but that is opts problem. I think there is also a debatable refereeing decisions table. I would not mind seeing our Position in an aggregated table. I think to your question according to opta is plus 7 points whereas united was minus 14 points.

Don't take any notice of the media this morning. Usmanov stated he wants us to buy Rooney, not Arsenal. Now we seem to have a top goal scorer in the bag we need to make a aggressive defensive midfielder. Then a keeper. That will make four forwards. Would love to see the stoke keeper. Will be interesting to see if Wenger reverts to a 4-4-2. I personally would love to see Senga stay. km

Have not got a song in mind for Higuain yet but heres one for Rooney. Um Errr, Um Errr Um Errr You know, Um Errr You know. That's it. Please NO I will cringe watching him in an Arsenal shirt giving a post match interview. Yes as you can tell I'm not a Rooney fan at all. Don't know what it is about him but every time I see him and hear him it's like someone scratching their nails on a blackboard. Apart from that I've said it before he is well over rated.

Reading a few papers etc this morning £50 mill spent! Could that be true for Higuain and Rooney! I'm happy to see Higuain but I would like to see Rooneys money spent elsewhere. I think if Arsenal were to start offering the type of money Rooney would get then much better players agents will be beating a path for our door. Does anyone agree?

No 50 mill for higuain, transfer fee, wages included I think.

Arsenal shareholder Alisher Usmanov wants Wayne Rooney at Arsenal

ARSENAL's second-largest shareholder Alisher Usmanov has called on Arsene Wenger to buy Wayne Rooney.

i say if he wants wenger to buy rooney then he should pay for rooney transfer fee and wages, I don't want rooney at arsenal because I think rooney is not right for arsenal.

I think Rooney is perfect for us, I don't think we have many attacking players that scare defenders, we need an attacking player that will just run at defenders and induce a 'turtle head'

Please post on rumours pages eds
Guys please note that arsenal are always quiet about their targets, and hardly ever publically talk about who they want
On arsenal.com there is a 'rumours' page when media reports are mentioned. These players are never signed at the time
Using arsenals quiet process and the 'rumours' page, I wouldn't put money on the players mentioned being signed, however, I think we will all be happily surprised by the end.
Just a voice if reason, and font get your hopes too high
I only believe it when it's announced on arsenal. coms main page
