So I things clear, Hummels does NOT read this site

"I don't have to beat about the bush, and pretend Arsenal wanted me. There was no offer. The same applies for Spain, there was always contact but no option right now. That's why I now have made the fundamental decision to continue my career in Germany. "

He should have been Per's replacement.

Would he have chosen us over Bayern Munich though?
If he would even have considered it I think it's criminal that we didn't at least try, he would have been a great partner for Kos.

22 Jun 2016 09:55:11
ofcourse he would have chosen us over bayern, do you not have one of those arrogance tin foil headwear?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2016 12:19:24
Hummels is another cech. Too good not to take if it was possible. No idea what the cost would've been, but would've made us a hell of a lot stronger.

22 Jun 2016 18:55:10
How much did he go to Bayern for? Did they get a deal due to him formerly being a part of their academy?

Welsh mate there's a great little hotel near Cardiff Airport, if you book now for Saturday you can meet your boys at the Airport when they arrive home Sunday.

You'll have a ball mate, just won't be able to go in the duty free. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

21 Jun 2016 21:04:25
Go on welsh, cheer on the boys till the end, I've got a feeling wales will go further than England . Wales are hungry for success unlike the over hyped England team wales smashed Russia and Slovakia while England struggled. Plus the welsh have the wonderful Gareth bale who could win this tournament on his own. England haven't got a player like that. Also gooner tell the merthyr boys the raver was asking about them.

Agree5 Disagree1

21 Jun 2016 21:22:30
Raver you could be right, full of toots, so we can't expect too much.

21 Jun 2016 23:19:09
The state of raver announcing this England team are over hyped when the starting line up is made up of a lot of spurs players.

Lol what a lad.

22 Jun 2016 10:34:52
Ctr, the England team have been over hyped since 1966, I remember the England teams of the 80s Robson, hoddle etc failed. The so called golden generation of Scholes, Gerrard, lampard failed big time what's going to change now. England reminds me of a stud muffin who goes out every weekend and never pulls.

Agree6 Disagree0

22 Jun 2016 17:19:56
Do u see yourself in them rave?

England have had some too players over the years bit as always it's the press that picks the teams and another failed manager gets the boot.

If only Giroud is able to bury most chances created for him, he'd be one of the deadliest striker to ever grace the game.
Having said this, on his day, he's amazing to watch. I bet with his international form, had he not been our player, many fans would be calling the shots for him to be signed.
Although we need another striker, he's vital to our style of play. Instead of slating him, we should encourage him. Every player has a moment of bad spell. messi, ronaldo, hazard. you could go on and on.

Too slow, not a clinical finisher and doesn't work with ozil.

21 Jun 2016 20:02:29
Olly with serious competition from a natural finisher and as a partner too when needed would be asset in a title race but as our undisputed number 1 striker he's a top 4 chaser along with the rest of the club.

The British crop of players we have are just not good enough

They have had enough time to prove themselves

Time to ship them out.

Due to current regulations, a team can only have 17 foreign players, so you need 8 homegrown players to make up the numbers, plus young players that qualify.
We have Bellerin (I think he is considered as homegrown) , Chambers, Gibbs, Ramsey, Wilshere, Walcott, Iwobi, Ox and Welbeck. These would not be easy to replace with better homegrown options.

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Jun 2016 10:37:03
unfortunately we need those core players even if they are utter crap just to make numbers.

england need to do something about how they develop players and can't keep on lacking behind other national teams.

from the current squad almost every player is over hyped, Kane, Delle Ali, i have no idea why wilshere is even at that tournament considering game time, I am not saying they are crap but comparing these guys to the golden generation or the generation before with shearer and linekar and gazza shows the trend to be downward.

look at spain and germany, players not fit or not performed for the year are cut. reus and caz and mata not making the cuts where they would be starting for england.

too many over hyped players, Arsenal fans on twitter saying wilshere was the best player on the pitch, doing what exactly?

iniesta or silva would have sliced that defense open.

rooney comes on and its same old dross.

you only need to look at club level to see who is the key player on the team sheet and not even vardy would claim that title with mahrez in the team.

The injury have taken their toll on Jack W. sorry to say but he looks done. Too bad as Arsenal through and through - but I would t want to see him holding back some of our youths.

Agree0 Disagree3

21 Jun 2016 12:09:00
Looks done?! He's had about 200 minutes of game time this season. It's going to take longer than that to get back to him self. If he was in his 30s maybe. In the first half he made some good passes but I guess match fitness isn't there yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Jun 2016 15:15:57
I thought jack looked creative, played some great balls, but some shoddy play too. I'd put that down to a quality player that was a bit rusty. Hoping he'll show his quality when playing a team that doesn't jut sit back. Still plays direct and through the middle, always feel he could conjure something up - only Rooney or Barkley could do similar. I'd give Barkley a start next game though.

As for over hyped England players, perhaps. But Kane had that levelled at him season before last and he did it again last season in the prem, alongside aguero, hazard, costa, Sanchez etc. How old is he? What else does he need to do? Seems like a talented hardworking player that could become a legend to me, just a bit tired for England. As for the rest of the England squad, I'd agree more - sterling, henderson, sometimes lallana no end product, but the fullbacks have been good, and if dier and Alli laid it off rather than shoot they'd be doing pretty well. If we take more of our chances, we'd have less questions asked.

We have got to be the least loyal fans around! If he'd scored a wonder goal like against palace you'd all be calling him the wonder boy from Arsenal! The lad is class and I'd love to see him at Arsenal for all of his career. Maybe we as fans and the media slating the players every week has some impact on their mentality!

I don't care how Jack plays in this tournament, it's a great pre season for him which hopefully benefits him and us.

Not certain how anyone expects him to be match fit now. Daft to take him really but if it gets him stronger and fitter for us then like I said who cares.

21 Jun 2016 11:09:37
I won't have my jack been slagged off.

21 Jun 2016 11:48:48
Jack is coming back from a long term injury IF he stays fit he will get better and better every game is money in the bank. Another setback and then we can question him but he needs games and a pre season will help no end. Time will tell, ramsey took 6 months after his injury to show anything .

Don't want to jump on the criticism of England, we have been through this enough times at the Emirates.

Breaking down 10 behind the ball is never easy.

That said, while I was mixed on Vardy, this is the type, of match we all worried he would struggle. I'm that context, which striker out here would have been able to produce the magic from distance needed? I think the answe is very few.

Perhaps a 4-4-2 tactic is what is needed instead?

The three teams in our group were very negative.

Dags recently left a comment under a post recently saying that Morata and Van Dijk would be perfect for us. These two players would be very, very good with us. Morata is my preference over any striker that is available (Vardy included) as he has bags of potential but has also proved he can score in times of need. Van Dijk is a proven Premier League centre half who can defend and is good with his feet. Perfect.

21 Jun 2016 09:11:04
Them 2 player's are the missing pieces to the puzzle.

I'm guessing Β£45m for Morata and Β£15m Van Dijk.

Β£60m plus Β£30m Xhaka.

That's Β£90m and we have a title winning team.

Eds.
I am in a hotel near Lyon France.
We have had a lovely time.
We came purposely on Sunday to have the experience of a major tournament but we come back today.
We went to the England game last night.
Do you know how we can get a refund on that AWFUL performance boys? .
When we saw the squad he started with I nearly choked on my Baguette.
Surely the plan should be to put your strongest squad out there get in front then relax? .
Secondly I need a bit of advice.
When I get home Mrs Lanesra going to say
" Well that was a waste of money wasn't it we could have spent that money on something else " LOL .
Any tips on getting round that ear bashing I'm going to get.
Please don't say leave her .
She's got a tracker implanted in my neck.
LOL.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed025's Note - im totally with mrs lanesra, what a terrible waste of money following that bunch of under-performers, tell her you were actually on a scouting mission to find somewhere for a second honeymoon...for when she bin bags you and meets a nice welsh guy.. :)
