Welsh i hope you don't mind me asking you if you were in Paris 2006 champions league final. The reason being that on the ferry back from Calais to Dover after the game my mate and me got talking to 4or5 Welsh gooners who like us had gone to Paris to watch the game could not afford a ticket and ended up watching the game in a bar
If my memory serves me right they were from South Wales possibly Swansea or Newport.

I have just come in from work and read sharpies post and i agree it was a top notch post. The last bit about Arsene being a dinosaur but still loves this club and deserves some respect is absolutely right. I know when i put no3 it upset some people like Welsh Gooner but i will carry on supporting the Wenger out brigade but as i have done for 55 yrs i will continue supporting this great club of ours and its because i love this club of ours that i want to see a change and i getting frusfrated an d p----d off with Arsene. nothing beats being a Gooner and if some people like Welsh took umbrage then i am truly sorry but that's how
i feel
Take care everybody.

Heybridge, we all have our arsenal story and we look back fondly and remember why we love this club and forced our kids too as well lol but the one thing we all want is for the club to be the best it can with the resources we have all helped to provide.

Yes, Stan is the main shareholder, yes Wenger is the manager and yes the players play for the club but we expect them all to to the best for our club we have helped build long before they came in.

It's arsenal football club I support and they better look after it to make sure I get my enjoyment. When I don't get it I want it sorted by them all. If someone isn't doing the best job they can go somewhere else.

Without us none of them would have a job and its my club not theirs, they work for me. The money and love I have put into this club over the years gives me a voice as far as i'm concerned and you too.

Like all previous generations of Arsenal fans who supported the club in the 20s, 30s,50's etc we are all just temporarily looking after this great club, not just for us, but for the Arsenal fans yet to come. That goes for the fans, owners, and players. The club is bigger than us all, and we should all ensure we want the very best for the club to succeed both today and in the future, and accept that sometimes difficult decisions need to be made for this to be achieved.

Heybride, Stevie
We are all passionate, I've sad things this last month that have been out of order,
We need to set aside our small differences.
We have a difficult run to get at best 4th. But the club and us need that champions league spot, to get the players we deserve. (whoever the manager is)
The start of every year I bet and dream about us winning the title again, only to see it go up in smoke in bloody February.
So I understand your frustration, if you rang me 3 pm last Saturday I wanted to sack Wenger, and shoot two or three players. Why don't the players hurt like I do, but seeing how wenger looked I could see how hurt he was, yes he is on mega bucks but I don't think he was thinking about his cheque, not like some of our so could players.
So let's all pull together.

Heybridge mate you posted nothing wrong mate and have nothing to apologize for, we all have our own feelings and that's absolutely the way it should be.
I struggle to understand how some people can want Arsene to continue as our manager beyond this season but they do and they are 100% entitled to feel that way.

It's football and when it comes to Arsenal we all want what's best for our club, it's what our individual opinions of is actually best that devices us.
Speak your own mind and always respect others rights to do the same but we should never be afraid to disagree.

Better to be a lone wolf than a frightened sheep mate :-)

I agree Welsh ( incredible for us mate :-)
You can see Arsene's pain when the team cave in (which a sight we've all become far too used to seeing in recent years) and of course he's not thinking about his wages at those times he must be thinking how he's going to explain it away this time.

I felt desperately sorry for him on his 1000 game against Chelsea, before the game i thought the players might give him an anniversary present of his win over Jose but instead they gave him another meltdown to explain to the waiting media.

Personally i find infuriating the way the players go marching over to the away fans give them a clap and think it makes giving them nothing on the pitch ok,
Every time it happens Arsene looks totally frustrated the fans look totally disillusioned and the players look forward to getting back to posting selfies on social media.

I'm sorry welsh but the pain on wenger's face is part of the job and joy is as well. He can end that pain himself, so I don't feel sorry for him. I feel he needs to realise his time has gone and he can go and do something that he might be successful at elsewhere. When you get older you think you can still do it.

Take it from me I know, he and I can't. Leave it to the next generation. Instead of trying to beat the youngsters you have to play with your own age. He needs to pass it all on, he isn't doing himself any good at all by clinging on and the board are not helping either.

Steve I currently work with two young lads of 26 and 30 who are in the top 10 salespeople I've ever worked with over the years and in sales terms i have to run to keep up with thier walking pace :-)
At a job i was working in a few years back i met the best salesman I've ever worked with and he is the same age as me (54) and still no one in that company can get even close to him and they have around 70 salespeople of all ages trying desperately to do so.
Age isn't always a big factor it's retaining that competitive edge that matters mate.
How old was Fergie when he walked away title in hand?

G62, 54 is still a big gap to 67. Sadly if you look through history, very few people do the best work of their career nearing 70, especially in creative industries. Evidence strongly suggests we do our best work in our 20s and 30s (and i hope 40s! ) and from then on its a slow decline as we just get more stubborn and less prone to new ideas as we age. Does this sound familiar to someone we all know?

Gunner without sounding gloomy and quoting a biology lesson, we grow until we are 25/ 26 then things start dying. Just saying lol.

Do you have any idea why the Arsenal board are so unwaveringly loyal to Arsene Wenger? Even despite the man's achievements, it still does not make any kind of sense. You would think that Arsenal's ambitions are to win the league and other trophies, yet what is with all this sycophancy for Wenger?

Their goals and actions are such a wild mismatch yet as paid professionals they somehow do not see it.

Wenger has achieved virtually nothing for 13 years, will probably even finish this season outside the top 4, yet the fact that prolonging his Arsenal managerial career is as simple as asking for a new contact, completely blows my mind.

Is it maybe because, ideally they want him gone, but don't have the balls to deny him a departure on his own terms?
