Read today that JM would be willing to do a swap with Cech for either Theo or The Ox, I reckon we would be stupid to that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 May 2015 18:41:53
Theo yea hey Jose let's do it now, the Ox? don't be a silly billy all your life mourinho, talk sense.
Cech Hazard and Oscar plus 50:million and you can have first option if we ever get skint

Agree2 Disagree2

21 May 2015 20:34:37
Id much rather try and get theo involved in some sort of deal for sterling, if cech wanted to come to us anyway IF, could JM really stand in his way

Agree0 Disagree1

21 May 2015 21:56:46
For me Theo is a player who has done very little for Arsenal in his 9 years with us but who for some reason wants a pay rise for doing it?
I'd cash in or out on him now and I think we will this summer because dispite all the words in the media I think Arsene is as disappointed in him and his attitude as some fans are

Agree1 Disagree0

22 May 2015 00:16:42
Even if JM offered 100m and his resignation I wouldn't give them the Ox.

22 May 2015 09:30:01
I agree lemon but if he'd go back to being the funny and brilliant Jose Mourinho who first came to this country before he became the bitter one he could have Theo Poldolski and Sanogo on a free.
Love or hate him the first time round mourinho was as brilliant for the game then as he is as nauseating now.

21 May 2015 17:41:18
World class forward, winger and a gk we need them to even think about getting anywhere near top spot next year

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - forward, keeper and DM for me jelfy mate..

21 May 2015 18:04:44
And a LB

21 May 2015 21:11:00
Monreal is ok I think

Agree1 Disagree0

21 May 2015 17:03:31
Many people threw a fit when Thierry said it, but I have always agreed with his thinking...

Arsenal will never win the league with Giroud as our forward! The man is shockingly wasteful. An upgrade is required asap

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 May 2015 00:18:20
I'm a big fan of giroud, but I agree we need someone better with Giroud fighting him for the place. If we had someone like Aguero or Suarez we would be unstoppable...

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think your right lemon..

21 May 2015 16:11:30
So we are linked with vidal now for 25 million and so the madness starts

What do people expect from Ozil? He plays inch perfect passes, and dictates the pace of play. Any short comings are from those around him

Believable2 Unbelievable3

21 May 2015 12:33:30
Rubbish. He bottles every tackle he's no team player

Agree2 Disagree2

21 May 2015 13:46:12
Yin and yin you are mate ;)

Agree0 Disagree2

21 May 2015 13:58:14
I expect Ozil to be about the same as Silva or Mata. At the moment i just don't think he is influencing the game as much as they do.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 May 2015 15:38:29
Look at ozil as an arsenal fan and you see him differently than a say man u or chelsea fan. No one at those clubs are jealous of us and at 42 mil you should be.Hes got great talent but it is limited. For 10 mil he'd be a bargain for 42mil he aint. he's definately no flop but he ain't a roaring success either.

Agree2 Disagree1

21 May 2015 16:29:38
With possibly the most wasteful striker in the world n front of him, what do you expect? Ozil is too brilliant for the likes of Giroud who is pants

Agree2 Disagree0

21 May 2015 16:32:36
Mata barely even gets into the starting lineup for one.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 May 2015 16:35:02
Personally I'd have Ozil over both of them

Agree1 Disagree3

21 May 2015 17:31:56
I'd have ozil over mata but not silva once again your blinded by the arsenal goggles Saint

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - silva for me as well jelfy..

Apparently i'm as blind as wenger, not sure what that means. I'd say that it's probably quite wise to be taking our foot of the pedal, we've got third and second is pretty meaningless. If i were to guess about the choice to pick the same team six games in a row (before last night) I'd say it was to see if we could opperate with a compact squad with little rotation, like chelsea have done. Using a compact squad shows deformation much better than rotating and will no doubt have given wenger an idea of where to strengthen.
Now on the criticism of wenger, I was at Emirates stadium the other day where, people were proclaiming that wenger had done well but that he should now Duck off. If you genuinely dislike wenger so much then you have no respect for football, wenger has revolutionised football, not only in england but accross the world. In terms of the way he gives players responsibility, the way he trains his players, his use of stats and his scouting network.
Wenger has always done things differently to other managers, he's a deap thinker, where some would make snap decisions, he plays for the game rather than for the results. To both ends he sometimes fails to deliver, but his desire and drive to create great footballing sides is an endeavour trully worth pursuing
You should be grateful that such a fantastic manager managed the football club you say you love.

What I meant when I said your blind, is the reply to my post that we don't need a striker or a winger or gk nothing todo with I want wenger out or in or where we finish again u look blind my friend

Tpg in my opinion they are the ones who don't mind not winning the league.

21 May 2015 21:48:09
Seriously jelfy? I wrote, a massive peice on the striker situation basically saying there's no one available who's better than giroud, he's the best of the rest. If you didn't see that, then maybe you're the one that needs to pop down to Specsavers. It isn't the first time you're understanding of subtext has left something to be desired...

22 May 2015 11:54:07
Come on Steve I don't think any of us Gooners wants anything other than to win the league again and you know that

Alright folks, it's been ages since I posted anything on here, hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the end of the season - it seems 3rd place is guaranteed, we've a cup final to look forward to and almost a full squad of players - even though a number of them are dead on their feet and in need of a break.

I watched last nights game, fair play to Sunderland, they came with a plan (as did Swansea), stuck to it and got what they needed. It amazes me time and time again that the 'smaller' teams seem to be able to grind out results when they need to but this is a mentality Arsenal simply don't have?

I was astonished to see Ramsay and Cazorla in the middle. AW must have known Sunderland would set up the way they did, he would have known they would play on the counter....yet he removed our holding player and arguably the most important player over the last 12 games. I appreciate Coquelin may have been fatigued but he should still have started the game, if not them Flamini should have played. AW reminds me of someone playing championship manager and trying to fit in all their favourite players; Cazorla, Wilshere, Ramsay and Ozil simply do not fit into the same 11. Never have, never will. For me one of Ramsay or Wilshere has to play second fiddle or be sold to generate funds for another. I know who I'd like to see the back of!

You don't need an out and put defensive midfielder to play against a team that sits back and defends and does nothing else. You need someone better on the ball.

OK 4 games without a win and not looking so close as we allowed ourselves to believe a few weeks back, a great end to the season if you ask me.
When did we want our wake up call in August?
4th place trophy all but lost :-) fa cup finalists again :-) and a big dose of reality just in the nick of time :-) a great month at the office if you ask me.
Strangely enough things have gone as well ax they possibly could in 2015 for us, were a very good side but not yet good enough and still have a bit to do
Reasons to cheer up 427 and 428 people :-)

In our final match before the Cup Final, if Wenger intends selecting Szcsesny for the Final, then he should play him against West Brom.
I would like to see the following team selected:
Szczesny
Chambers Gabriel Koscielny Gibbs
Coquelin Wilshere
Walcott Rosicky Ramsey
Akpom

This will give some players a rest and others much needed match time.

If Debuchy, Welbeck, Arteta or Oxlade are fit, then I would include them in the team/squad.

Pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass.

Am I talking about Arsenal's style of play tonight or Ed025 on mastermind?

Only joking Ed.

But seriously, jeez get the ball in the bloody box.

We had numerous chances to whip it in the box or to have a pop at goal, but we just opt for another pass.

We need a plan B when plan A is not working.

This is what you get when you play 4 central attacking midfielders in the same team, wherever they are meant to play they all drift to the middleand tack up each other's space. No real width and far too slow to move the ball.

When teams defend deep, we make it easy for them by trying to play imposible one twos through a packed box and never seem to learn, we just keep doing the same thing all match, as long as a team is disciplined and keeps enough bodies in the way the threat is totally nullified.

When we move the ball from side to side it is in 3 or 4 stages with each intervening player having a few touches giving the opposition plenty of time to readjust.

When we try a shot it is often after a number of touches and a telegraphed wind up that means the shot is blocked within inches.

We press up so close to a defending team that there is no space in behind, we never drop back and try to draw them out. We don't move the ball quickly from side to side and then whip a ball in to a runner trying to exploit the space we just keep on with no imagination.

I think Einstein defined insanity as "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Interesting to read some of the posts below.

Interesting in the fact that certain players are being blamed for our mini slump.

They are all to blame.

They have all been as bad as each other.

Ozil has been pants, Cazorla pants, Sanchez pants (apart from effort), Giroud pants, Ramsey pants.

Basically, they are all pants collectively.

I share your pain Dags but 1 of the blogs reported a little stat we made over 900 passes! That is part of the problem. For me it ain't the players it's the tactics, or lack of them. What did Fergie say about 5 yrs ago. 2 banks of 4 & let them make pretty patterns in front of you.
All the managers know how to beat us. When they do Arsene says they play ant-football, whatever that is.Our build u is painfully slow. Unless we vari the style speed your game up to prevent the opposition getting 2 banks in place we will be where we are today. Which is at times looking wonderful playing dazzling football, but a bit light weight & when it really matters failing.
We need players that are leaders & fighters out there, but I don't think he likes a player to stand up to him. As Ray Parlour said a few weeks ago 'he will never admit he's wrong. even when he knows he's wrong'.
We need a change next season or it will just be more of the same.
