Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

For me weds is a one game shoot out. Its not about form or what other teams are doing, its about winning the group and unlike the league, where if you rely on luck too much it eventually catches up with you, I for one won't mind on weds if we are dire and have all the luck in the world or we are brilliant, we must win the top spot. i'm not interested in playing great and failing, we just have to do it and then move on to sunday. Where our form has to pick up.

Totally agree mate, 3 points however we get them is the order of the day and then getting some genuine form going.

Hearing Cazorla has gone to Spain for treatment on his Achilles is a concern, would seem he's weeks away from a return.

Wenger needs to decide whose going to fill that role next to Coquelin and stick with it because as yet Elneny, Xhaka and Ramsey have not played well and they are the likely candidates.

After a bright start we have, despite being undefeated since Liverpool, not been convincing.

{Ed025's Note - i think you are being a bit harsh there red dog, for me arsenal have played well in most games and been very entertaining, you want to try being an evertonian mate then you would have something to moan about.. :)

22 Nov 2016 11:18:18
Yeah you've done well to still moan about something there Red. I think the personal element of facing Man U and Jose without winning again has magnified our fan's frustrations to be fair but I'd still say we are on course to have a good season - whether we do or not is another question but the signs really aren't that bad.

Agree red we haven't been convincing at all, so we need to start being a few more times.

I'm not a big fan of Wayne Rooney but I just can't see what the did wrong when on England duty on a team day off, he stayed in the team hotel where a wedding reception was being held and joined in the fun.
I've seen no complaints from the wedding party about him joining them so where is the problem?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed041's Note - mo think its been totally blown out of proportion to g62

21 Nov 2016 19:50:52
Its absolutely ridiculous Ed041 mate, what ever people's personal views about Wayne Rooney as a man or a footballer it doesn't change the fact the man's done absolutely nothing wrong here.

{Ed041's Note - I feel for the lad in this instance mate

22 Nov 2016 06:15:14
and if Jack Wilshere had done the same thing 62?

22 Nov 2016 08:09:37
Jack Wilshere Jack and the bean stalk or jack n Jill the answer would still be the same Red mate, he stayed in the team hotel on a day off and joined in a celebration which as far as I know the happy couple had no problem with, if he'd got drunk in his room alone would that have been ok?
The man had a few drinks with some strangers who most probably considered it the icing on the icing of their wedding cake to have the England captain at their big day.

62 it's not what Rooney did it's what you would have said had it been Wilshere.

Rightly or wrongly Rooney has been touted and regarded as England's Messi/ Ronaldo/ etc for the last decade and quite frankly has never lived up to the hype. If you compare their careers from the time they were both rising stars at Utd, Rooneys has gone downhill and Ronaldo has gone from strength to strength, culminating in leading Portugal to a Euro win. People look and see how immensely fit Ronaldo is and how well he's looked after himself and then look and see Rooney turn up obese at the start of every season and drinking until 5am and rightly imo criticise him for it.
If you asked pretty much every professional Swimmer/ Diver/ Gymnast etc whether they'd stay out drinking until 5am in the middle of their season, they'd laugh right in your face, especially those that compete for their countries. Quite frankly from my point of view, if you're paid £300,000/ week you make sure you don't eat a single calorie more than recommended and refrain from drinking to excess.

We were poor against man u, but plenty of positives:

- Olly firing. We have options up top and competition now. So how about when Danny is back!?

- The ox. When confident, is as direct as Sanchez and shoots from range. This season has had limited opportunities but taking them. Great to see him and Theo both providing a threat.

- Bellerin is one of the best rb. Jenksay not be as good, but with little game time and especially not with arsenal, still did a jo. Squad depth.

- Rambo being moved centrally a.

I think the most positive thing of all is Jim we are talking about positives after a good result rather than looking for some clutching at straws silver linings after a poor result.
Getting a good result when your awful is what all contenders do at some stage during a season.

You need a quick relief from stress, depression, disappointment due to bizzare arsenal performances, just watch Ozil's solo CL goal. It comes with all the calmness one could ever think off. Hope he repeats it on Wednesday. Absolutely Brilliant!

I know its not the prem but weds is the night we can sort out our cl failings and prove we have learned our cl leasons. Show us this maybe isn't the same old arsenal. We are at home and we are in charge of our own destiny. Finish top and grow a little finish second and stand still.

Yes, it would a great boost to our confidence if we can finish top of our group, ensuing the second leg of the next round is played at home and the possibility of missing being drawn against a top team. It is noticeable the additional strain playing in CL puts on teams, as Chelsea and Liverpool are proving, being out of the CL has done them a favour domestically. The four CL teams all have a tough midweek match this wee, before returning to the domestic league at the weekend. Hence, we must use our squad wherever possible. I would start, Gibbs, Xhaka, Iwobi, Giroud and the Ox against PSG. With Ospina being our CL keeper, that means that 6 players could rotated. I would go further and bring in Gabriel to give one of the CB's a rest, but that would definitely weaken the team and might not be a sensible idea. Indeed, We have many fixtures from now into the new year and we must give players a rest. The good thing is that as we enter the new year we should be able to call upon, Perez, Cazorla, Welbeck, Bellerin and Mertesacker.

Its a great test for us as we've been far from invincible against top European opposition at the Emerirates in the past.
Winning the group would be yet another tick in the this season is different box after beating Chelsea and not losing away to Utd and José.

21 Nov 2016 12:30:32
Gunner I would go as far as saying winning the group is essential, finishing second would be a bit of a failure.

21 Nov 2016 18:03:06
If we were to draw with PSG again Wednesday SSteve and finish the group level on points but 2nd on goal difference I wouldn't class that as failure mate, PSG are in Europes top 8 for sure and matching them over two games while not dropping points in the other games I would most definitely see as a big improvement on previous Champions league campaigns.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Nov 2016 20:57:09
Its the champions league with top teams, finishing second will be another failure to win a group, there are no excuses. That would apply whatever and whoever was in the group. For me psg gives us a better chance than many others.

Well let's hope we beat them Wednesday Steve and that way we will both be happy mate :-)

Id be happy with 0-0 gunner but don't see it.

21 Nov 2016 22:18:36
Personally Steve I think Wednesday will either see us at our best or get found out, I don't expect us to concede lots of chances and get away with it again, we need to get back to the standard we reached against Chelsea or get done up like kippers.
