Think Per is going to do a great job developing the youngsters and ensuring they keep their feet on the ground - a great ambassador for the club

Loved his bond with Lacazette

I told you,". . . "When you work hard, you will get your chances."

Came over to celebrate with Lacazette after the game as clearly helping him

Yipi, prehaps his first singing will be that young lad Rice from West ham as a replacement for himself:-)

Aubameyang my man of the match today? Why? Because there was every chance we would have drawn or even maybe lost the game until he came on, once we retained the lead it looked a dead cert! He’s far to dangerous to be left to one man. The difference when he came on was apparent.

He's a top player.

Can't he pretend to be Iwobi on Thurs?

Just borrow Iwobi's shirt. Nobody will notice, hopefully 😁.

We were playing without Ozil, Wilshere and Mkhitaryan. Hopefully, they will be fit for Thursday's match.

Hi ed01. Would like to hear your opinion on what Gary Neville said about Simone for the Arsenal job. I have heard what both you and ed02 have said about candidates both in likelihood and what could be a good fit. Now Simeone isn’t my first choice and have to squint hard to see how he will fit, but for some reason Gary Neville triggered a thought process dilemma . Is there a possible scenario where Simone could work? I know steve r is a simione fan, and he likes the idea of someone who can put out a dogged style of play and the ability to snatch goals under pressure. There’s no doubt that athletico are a very difficult team to beat! In some ways the complete opposite to us and a team that plays a style we usually struggle badly against. With the right players purchased in the summer could simione work. Thoughts SLB.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - for starters he is about as likely to take the job as I am to get offered it as he is settled there now after a rough patch. But, to answer your question, yes I think he could do a very good job there because he is the complete opposite to Wenger. He would have the intensity and fire driving on players who have talent but just not the application to use it. The only issue is that it would not be as exciting a watch as you are used to. Simeone would have you competitive at the top end, I believe, in very short order.}

22 Apr 2018 20:58:24
Is it a case of he’s too far out of our reach or could if Arsenal were intent he was the one (hypothetically ) could they make money talk?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 21:01:32
If he came in and changed some of the dross in the defensive and center of the park I feel it would be amazing considering we have some fire power!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 21:34:56
I think whoever comes in if they are to be successful is going to have make us more defensive initially to sort out that extremely weak and sometimes non existent part of our game.
More in control with a few less chances created but lots less chances conceeded per game, for while at least.
We are unlikely to find a Klopp to come in and make us exiting and competitive quickly.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 21:42:37
I believe if simione was to come in he would have to bring a few players with him to get full potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 22:15:02
I like simeone because he runs a club in a similar situation to arsenal as much as he takes on the bigger clubs and competes at the highest level. He has money to spend but other teams have more but he bridges the gap. He is savvy.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 23:02:28
I'm trying to think of the last team that were rubbish at the back but outscored their way to the title?
It's difficult to remember one actually.
Leicester never had the best defenders but that season they were pretty solid and organised
In fact has there ever been a premier champions with an awful defence?

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2018 00:33:02
Gunner, i appreciate what you are saying but i'm not sure citeh have a brilliant defence, its just they aren't tested too much. When they are they are very beatable. Klopp sees to have found the key and they were undone in the fa cup and CL. They retain possession to keep the threat away, in the oppositions half. Bit most teams that win the league have a tight defence.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2018 02:53:55
Excluding unavailable Guardiola and Mourinho, the manager I want would be Simeone, assuming he has learnt to speak English.
The ones that are being mentioned that I don't want are:
Low - Lacking recent club Management
Rodgers - Good shout, but too many fans against his appointment and we need unity.
Dyche and Howe - No!

My list would be:
1. Simeone
2. Vieira
3. Allegri

Good, but have concerns:
Enrique - Did well at Barcelona but it was with a great squad.
Ancelloti - Past his best?

Agree0 Disagree0

Aubameyang Poking fun at Kane - brilliant and exactly what social media was designed for. bullying ( joke )

May be they will give him Rambo's goal?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Apr 2018 20:31:05
The worst thing that could happen to Harry is to win the golden boot by that goal, if I was his mate I'd tell him to get in on the act and laugh at his own silliness by posting jokes about himself, it's the only way out of this crazy mess.

Not great news on the injury front from Wenger:

"Jack had a training session today and he looked positive so he has a good chance to be available for Thursday, " added Wenger.

"Ozil was sickness [flu] so I cannot tell you much more about that. We will have to see how he recovers tomorrow [Monday].

"But Mkhitaryan won't be available on Thursday. "

Need Jack and Mkhitaryan more in the home leg than away. hopefully Jack and Ozil are fit as we lacked creativity today and will struggle to break AM down with Granit, Rambo, Danny etc. We need some serious locksmiths plus discipline elsewhere

Rambo needs to be on the end of the pass not the creator. Ozil and Mkhitaryan transform our attacking options. 🙏.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It is not too bad to be honest. The club had already put it in the PR update that Mkhitaryan would be not considered until the last game of the month as the earliest.}

I wonder how important that penalty aubameyang let lacazette take in the Stoke game has been to his confidence and feeling of camaraderie between himself and the new striker rather than feeling threatened by him and fearing an even greater lack of game time. It could also prove to be massive in the grand scheme of things. He had played 25 minutes in the 5 games previously and has now scored 6 in 6 since. Aubameyang was criticised for not being selfish and maybe epitomising a characteristic that we have lacked to kill off teams by not claiming a hat trick. But as our most important striker in the europa league lacazettes form and confidence are essential. i'm grateful aubameyang didn't take the easy route to personal glory with what would of been a pretty meaning less goal in the context of that match except for gaining him a match ball and took a decision that might be exceptional in the grander scheme of things.

Eden, I have been very impressed with aubameyang since he arrived especially when he was supposed to be full of baggage. The pair appear to work well. Since that penalty auba has assisted laca twice. As it stands now we look a better team than we were with Sanchez going forward.

Olly v Sanchez in the fa cup final.
I hope it's a 3 all draw after extra with both Giroud and Sanchez getting Hatricks then 5 5 on penalties after 55 spot kicks for each side and the ref and fa decide they've had enough and decide to call the tournament null and void for the 2017/ 18 season.

Good on ya Steve, I admire your ability to rise above such a comment
mate :-)
For anyone without your self control Steve I would like to point out that Mr Wenger has managed Lacasette perfectly saving him for Athletico all season, and now he's just coming into the form of his life just at the right time in my opinion and I'd be surprised if a Hatrick isn't forthcoming this Thursday evening from Lacasette, at least.

Agree1 Disagree1

22 Apr 2018 19:43:16
Perhaps Lacca wasn’t fit before?

Wenger was criticised for dropping PEA - he can’t win really.

Wouldn’t have made a great difference this season anyway

If he’s fit and confident going into the Semi - Wengers done his job.

In my opinion watching the game it was a mistake not to put auba on from the start ahead of iwobi. Once he came on we were massively better, not only did auba lay another assist he created more space for laca to operate.

All I know is for me Arsene can do no wrong now Steve and SY, that time is gone for me personally.
The decision is made and for the remaining 3 league games plus 2 or 3 cup games I will give him the benefit of the doubt on anything and everything as there is absolutely nothing to be gained by doing anything else now.
I've never wanted Arsene and Arsenal to win a trophy more than this europa league trophy.
Arsene has made mistakes and bad decisions that's why we are we are now and it definitely the right thing to go but his service his comittiment and love for the club deserves those mistakes to put to one side now.
Of all Arsenes mistakes by far his biggest one has been to love the club and his job too much, I don't have a problem with forgiving him for that.

Gary Neville has to be the biggest fool in football. According to him coaching Arsenal isn't a great opportunity.

This from a guy who was a total failure at football management and an even bigger failure at punditry.

He’s right gunner it’s not a great opportunity for him it’s not an opportunity full stop for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 20:23:58
He said :

"Is the opportunity to get Arsenal back into the Champions League? Or is the opportunity to get Arsenal to win the Premier League?

"If it is the latter, one of two things has to happen. They have to have a manager who can punch above his weight, and the second thing that can happen is Arsenal's board start to match the spending of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, but that isn't likely.

Spot on really.

Hi gooners, I just want to say that as a united fan I wish you guys the best post Wenger, hope that it's not as tough for you as we found it post Fergie.
I salute Arsene, I know you've had some tough years recently but the man deserves all the accolades he's receiving, a top coach, innovative, made united adapt and he had some unbelievable teams, above all that he's a top class bloke and I imagine at OT coming up when we meet, Arsene will get the applause and recognition he deserves from us united fans. If winning the premiership with €1BN war chest is just as easy as Celtic winning the Scottish League - both clubs win the league in April with ease. . is Rodgers as good as Pep. . I could win the league with City's squad and budget but not sure I could win with Celtic. 😐

Carlo Ancelotti for me - think he can handle the EPL, set up at Arsenal and budget plus he's a big name and successful manager.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I kinda wasn’t meaning that 62, just that media and fans would be hailing Pochettino as something Special.

Where as for Arsenal it’s not really considered that. Whilst it was nice for a team our size it’s rightly not a job saver, thrashing’s and limp performances aside mate.

Doesn't seem really at the moment Ed mate and I'm sure we will all need time to get used to Arsene not being Mr Arsenal any longer, strange isn't the word for it.
When Adams Wrighty Bergkamp left I couldn't see how things could ever be the same again watching Arsenal but it's surprising how quickly we adjust, well that's the hope anyway :-)
