So that’s our Pires replacement

Auba is our Henry replacement

Mahrez can be our Freddie replacement

Now we need a new Vieira and Keown :)

Think I have an issue letting go of the past.

Alexis Sanchez. Probably the best footballer to put an Arsenal shirt on in the last 4-5 years. A player that has given us countless happy times whilst also being part of a squad that has failed to challenge for the league. I loved watching this man playing football and the images of him in the Man Utd jersey feel a bit sickening. I wonder if he will go down in our history books as a player too good that wanted better players around him, or one that will be remembered for doubling / trebling his wages at Manchester Utd over Pep's Manchester City. Feeling very conflicted indeed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2018 21:16:45
I have no bad feelings towards him.

We failed him as a club. The guy's a winner and wants to win things, and wanted better players around him.

Put it this way, would he have wanted to join Man Utd if he was in the Arsenal Invincibles team?

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 21:38:18
He wouldn't have been starting games if he was in the invincible side, Dags! 😂.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 21:39:43
I love the guy but would he still be an arsenal player if we offered stupid money like man u, i think the move is about money not football. If it was about football he would be at citeh.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 22:03:24
Pretty sure it was city who pulled out of that deal Steve and not the player. Something about not wanting to disrupt team morale by making him the highest paid in the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 22:27:13
Exactly what i'm saying tpg, he agreed a fee in the summer and more money was offered by another club. Not a footballing reason.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 22:38:55
Yeah true Steve it is funny how every player claims their new club is their ‘dream club’ aha. I get your point now and agree except he wouldn’t be at city for footballing reasons even if he wanted to. When he did want to it got blocked due to the Lemar saga.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 22:39:39
Very true Akie 😊.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 22:52:09
Tpg i also think there was some sort of agreement that he would be a citeh player in jan as well until loadsa wonga came along. Not knocking him, just saying it wasnt about football.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2018 19:36:32
This is the thing NES Manchester United are a big club. He comes from Chile and works his socks off. An absolute gem of a player and a nice guy. I don’t blame him one bit he gave his all for arsenal and it would be extreamly naive for any gooner not to respect the man. Good luck Alexis the man. And I have really enjoyed watching you play for the gunners. That’s what football is about and I can tell my grandkids I watched him play in the flesh. Watching him live is something to behold and il never forget when I watched him catch a twenty yard pass on his chest not once but twice in a game. That’s what you pay your money to see.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 19:58:19
Rumours are that he wasn't as popular with the rest of the players Sano, but we'll said 👍 it is only a game.

Hi eds, with the Mkhi deal seemingly on the verge of completion and Aubameyang close, do you get the feeling that Mkhi is an Ozil replacement and Auba a Sanchez replacement, with a yet unpursued Walcott replacement on the cards? Or that these two incoming are more a Walcott and Sanchez replacement, with Ozil to stay? I know we missed out on Malcom (given the news) so I suppose it all hinges on whether Ozil signs da ting.

Keep up the great work, despite losing Sanchez I'm more optimistic about this season than I was in the summer.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No, I would not be so sure that Oezil will be replaced by HM. The club remain keen on Malcom to replace Walcott but price is an issue. You are right to stay optimistic, the cleansing will continue.}

22 Jan 2018 20:41:29
Hasn't poyet said he’s going nowhere.

21 Jan 2018 23:59:20
Hi eds,
Was wondering if you knew anything about Ozil's contract situation? Is it looking likely that he will sign a new contract? Same goes for Jack. Both playing well!

Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I try and avoid everything about contracts - they are not of interest. However, if Arsenal make a stupid offer Oezil may agree another contract. I can't help about JW}

22 Jan 2018 18:13:37
Henrikh Mkhitaryan confirmed.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2018 18:47:40
About time this was done was proper drawn out, wonder would have been comical if either failed to get an extended work permit. Welcome Mkhi. Wonder If Ozil will be willing to sign on now?

22 Jan 2018 19:02:21
What about Walcott and coqulan north lol they wouldn't get a game with the raver down at the dog and gun. I see Arsenal fans happy with mikhatarian instead of Sanchez is laughable as the only winners are man Utd by getting a superstar player and sending a bench warmer to arsenal. It's like the raver parting with the Subaru and getting a Vauxhall corsa instead.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 19:15:13
No raver we aren't happy at the situation, well i'm not but we have made a bad situation a very good one. Its who we get to replace sanchez that will decide if we are happy or not. Watch this space. By the way raver poch is going nowhere.

22 Jan 2018 17:56:55
Arsene Wenger, a very good attacking coach I respect but you guys need to know that the manager that got the best out of mkhitaryan and aubameyang was the one and only Thomas Tuchel. The signings being made are in preparations for Tuchel taking over in the summer. That is the Arsenal signing that will really shape the club and make sure we don't have to endure what other clubs go through when rebuilding.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

22 Jan 2018 18:38:33
He won’t because he doesn't get on with the backroom staff that we got from bvd so he isn’t our next manager.

22 Jan 2018 15:31:06
Brilliant tabloid news today! Arsenal club shop selling shirts with miki and auba on the back! Wow I could order a shirt with Messi on the back anyway. What utter nonsense. The club won’t give you a refund if they don’t sign for a club 😅.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2018 15:15:20
Auba arrived for training an hour early today. Wow i thought that's some commitment but training doesn't start while 15.30 ha ha, they allow their players a good lay in.

Good team, but still no dedicated DM (because we don't have one) .

Imagine taking out Xhaka and replacing him with Kante.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 10:21:49
Keeper would be hmdy.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 11:37:16
Imagine if we swapped Xhaka for Jorginho.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 13:30:09
We need a gk and dm and we also need a winger in the mould of Salah or sane so maybe malcolm in the summer or the Argentinan lad pavon or maybe zaha he's an upgrade on Walcott and Welbeck. It will be an interesting summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2018 18:52:02
As the others have mentioned that DM role is still big glaring hole in our squad. Xhaka is poor at tracking runners back and his tackling is not the best anyway to play in 2 CM formation, much better on the ball than without for sure.
