Arsenal are looking at Juventus CB Leonardo Bonucci again. Was after him back in 2010, when he was playing for Bari. Bonucci is very good with the ball, and has incredible long-passes. Will make a great addition to our squad. Fee around 17-19 mill. will this mean that Koscielny is on the move?

Norwegian Gunner {Ed030's Note - If what you are saying is true and Arsenal sign Bonucci then a centre back would have to move on,Possible Koscielny. }

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bonucci is good but I reckon the cb at inter ranochia is better

Just a quick question not a rumour. Is next seasons home shirt the same as the last season's one and are we getting a new away shirt for this coming season?
Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not sure about the home shirt, but we have a new away kit I believe. It's a tribute to the 03/04 season I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

No we still with Nike this year! New kid next year with puma

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes the home one is the same but away is meant to be yellow though the shops don't know when they are getting it in

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes bra. new yellow shirt, same home shirt

New away kit out end of July.!

Not so much anything as amusing. Looking through a few sites and United fans sound a bit erm, unsettled as to goings on at the moment. Even though they have gone off Rooney, I think they are starting to realise he's not easy to replace.

Eds any substance to the el shaarawy rumours that we are going to bid £30m? Cannot see it myself {Ed027's Note - No mate, we would be interested in him if he cam available, but didn't he say he isn't going anywhere?

Hi

Please can someone confirm if we are getting higuain as I have read Napoli interested, heartache is killing me, someone last minute always take our signings.

Gooner4life

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Both higuain and fellaini are done deal mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2013 18:47:32
no one can confirm it until the club do so. having said that, he's having a medical with us on monday so make of that what you will!
the napoli rumour was started on twitter. someone said they were prepared to take higuain + 40m euros for cavani. it's only a rumour.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if Higuain plus €40M was true, Real would still be able to give him to us for €25-30M and have a couple spare after activating Cavani's €63 M buyout clause!

Agree0 Disagree0

Windsorian - Fellaini is a done deal? The vast majority of English media outlets are standing firm on the fact that Arsenal haven't had a bid accepted. Most are reporting that a bid was placed but was below the release clause figure and was rejected.
I'm not saying he won't come, I still hope he does, but we have to bit the £23m to trigger the clause first

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2013 16:31:04
Personally hope we don't sign Fellaini as he is not what we need right now. His best position has been proved to be just off the striker but we will buy him to play defensive midfield where he is distinctly average and vastly over rated. He is also a walking red card! Much rather spend the 22 million on someone more suited to the defensive midfielder job.

G95

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with most of that, although I don't think he's overrated. Overpriced definitely and I think we could get a much much better player for 22m.

De Rossi
Wanyama
Romulo
Gundogan
Toulalan

All better in that position. I like Fellaini but more box-to-box and we don't really need one of those.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2013 17:53:46
I think felaini will be brought to give us what diaby should have Been giving us presence in midfield

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally think Fellaini would be a great signing.

He is a monster on his day and would be the enforcer we have lacked for a long time.

He has come out and stated HIS preferred position is DM. With a bit of Wenger magic he could be EXACTLY what we need!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to let the OP know Fellaini has not been sent off once since being an Everton player so please get your facts right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to let you know, Fellaini has been sent off once in the 2010/11 season against Bolton.

"the red card was shown to Marouane Fellaini, who with four minutes left became tangled up with Paul Robinson then drove his studs into what could politely be called Robinson's nether regions. "The red card was the correct decision, " said Moyes. "It was retaliation; it was stupid. "

In future don't slate other people when you are infact wrong yourself.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has been banned after games for head butting and elbowing. Every time he's in the box he swings an elbow or two and he will get caught and sent off eventually. Hence a walking red card.

G95

Agree0 Disagree0

Greeny,

He is distinctly average when he plays DM. When he plays behind the striker he can be unplayable but we will buy him to play DM where I think he is over-rated.

G95

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh and for your information mr check your facts, I just did. He was sent off against Bolton on 10th Nov. 2010. Now who need to check there facts, please.

Have a go at ya, one red card in how many years did you say? Doesn't sound like a bad stint

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact is you had a go and were wrong so looked a bit foolish.

I'm not saying he's a walking red card because of the amount he has had, I'm talking about all the elbows he flings in the box and in the air when jumping. Referees will catch him a start to clamp down on it. Hence, a walking red card.

Liverpool fan coming in peace.
Would you gunners like to see Pepe Reina as your 1st choice goalkeeper? I'm quite happy that we have agreed a fee for Mignolet who arguably was one of the best keepers in the league last season. Reina is a good keeper but is prone to a lot of howlers and has had a massive loss of form in the past 2 years. Maybe he will regain his form, maybe not.

I would appreciate your views and also that of the Arsenal based ed.

Cheers
VGRed

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have never rated him. Like you say he is howler prone, and that is Szczesny's problem too and personally think Szczesny is a much better shot stopper as well.

We need a GK but I don't think Valdes, Reina or Cesar are right for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

If it was Reina at his very best then who wouldn't, but I have to agree with you. The last two season mistakes have crept into his game, so he wouldn't be my choice. As a number two why not, but why would he come to us to be numer two.
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

Cesar over the Reina or Valdes by a long shot.

Better, if its out there!

Yo gunners hurry up and get your check book out. 24 mill is a great price for 1 of the most over rated players in the prem Fellaini and if you pay us now I will personally cary him down to London my self how about that but hurry cause Moyes wants him too. 10. 4. over and out. Forever blue.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fair enough mate if that's your opinion- so if he stayed at everton and a had a great season, you wouldn't be cheering him on and be just thinking what an over-rated player we have?

He's a good player and your club paid 15mil for him- has he been worth that? That's for you to decide, but I guess no would be the answer.

I think he would add something to the arsenal team for sure. Whether he is worth the 20+mil being quoted, I am not so convinced and there could be better options.

As when Moyes bought him for 15mil, we have to trust wenger paying 20mil+ for him- if it happens anyway.

LG.

Agree0 Disagree0

O. k. you carry him down for us, moyes will take jagielka and Barkley and you enjoy your relegation fight with Martinez

Agree0 Disagree0

Outside of the success of Arsenal FC there's two things I hope for in the Premier League:

1. Man Utd's demise
2. Everton finishing about Liverpool every season

The second will hinge on Fellaini staying or going. Be careful what you wish for

Madrids presidents conversation with their incoming manager. we have a good offer for Higuain which will help fund the purchase of X or y. The response wouldn't take 8-10 days. If he wasn't happy, Madrid would of made the a statement through the media on Spain. Patrick Viera and remi Garde where purchased by Arsensl before Wenger was unvailed as out coach. And I'm not in the know. it's common sense km

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is he not on international duty? would it not make sense for him to have a medical first? can u see were i'm going with this?

Like Arteta and his medical before he joined?

Higuain WILL become an Arsenal-player this summer, and several others will also come. Expect the usuall Wenger-transfers, young and French.

Sorry to say, that Kurt Zouma will not come to Arsenal, he is going to Anzhi. I think he will become a great CB. On the other hand, I question his abitions. going to Anzhi, when a lot of big clubs (dont count Anzhi a big club. just a money-club), are after him. I guess money talks!

I hope Arsene doesn't go for Reina, as he has been rubbish the last 2 seasons. For a goalkeeper, I would rather stay with Scheschny. or buy Muslera (Galatasaray), Baumann (Freiburg), Patricio (Sporting CP), Begovic (Stoke), or even Julio Cesar (QPR)

I got a feeling that Honda will join our team, the player. not the car. He will be a great asset, very versatile.

I believe it would be worth a try to put in a bid for Freiburg's Matthias Ginter, a great CB prospect.

If we want the best CB, I guess we have to pay up for Giorgio Chiellini. not going to happen.

Looking forward to next season, and feel that Arsene will make us proud to be Gunners once again.

Expect a couple of signings, that you did not see comming. Wenger-style.

Have a good summer!

Best regards

Arsenal activated felleni's release clause last week but felleni declined our 70k a week offer, we are entering a second round if negotiations with him & his agents! We are also in talks with Barcelona winger Telo in a deal of around 8.5mil believed to be his release clause.

ed's I know you will have had plenty of questions about higuain already, but to make it simplified, on a scale of 1-10, how certain are you that higuain will be in an arsenal shirt come August 31st?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jun 2013 12:34:32
Banter please Ed.

Was listening to the radio, late last night, where a journalist from the telegraph was on the show- he was reviewing some of the stories in the papers, Some transfer talk, what's happening at Newcastle-joe kinnear, etc.

They got onto speak about Rooney, it wasn't that so much that woke me from being half as sleep, it was when he said this (pretty much verbatim):

"I have speaking to various people at arsenal since the end of last season. Wenger has money to spend, which we know and has been well reported, so wenger now has a new project in mind; which is fascinating, he wants to recreate a new team of invincibles and Rooney could well be a part of that- it will be fascinating to watch what happens at arsenal, not only this summer, but next as well".

?

I thought that was interesting, especially as I have been hopeful that there is going to be genuine change at arsenal this summer, but also very cautious. In seeing some of the players we've been linked with and what that journo said, does fill me with some hope.

Did wenger have an old project then? Financial stability/security, etc? Anyway, I like the sound of his new project (If true ofc)!

Could this really be, at last, the turning point we have been waiting and longing for at arsenal?

It could be exciting times a head.

It's been interesting to listen and read how people, especially Utd fans have written us off because of the lack of trophy stuff.

Arsene isn't a fool and few if any could of maintained a team to keep a foothold in Europe and the like with the finacial situation at our club.

Arsenal are ready in all aspects to move back to the top, the manager is more than capable of doing it and I believe with his passion and know how he will.

There are other teams that have been above us that need this season to be more worried than we do.

There IMHO will be some quality signings arriving it's just a very hard game of patience for us all at the moment. Anyone with a football brain will know what that will do for what is already a great group.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2013 18:52:46
My point us the fact Madrid are appointing a new manager doesn't seem to have any bearing on us signing Higuain. He is a very experiance man who will be very aware of Higuain. He doesn't need to be sitting in the managers chair before informing the president of his desire to keep the player. I think you don't understand my point. km

real said they can't do any bussines until they have a new manager. it make me think what if their new manager (ancellotti I assume) don't want to sell higuain and sees him in his plan?
is this thing can happen ed?
JustAGooner {Ed027's Note - It could, but Higuain wants out, Perez is the real boss, me and you know that

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The way I understood it, the way Madrid do business is that the manager has to "sign off the deal". Might be paper talk, but something is certainly holding it up. Other teams transfers have been confirmed and awaiting medicals on 1st July

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2013 18:50:15
in my opinion, higuain want to move because he know he is not in the plan for madrid next season. but the new manager see higuain in his team for next season and manage to convince him to stay, than he will stay. i'm sure perez won't sell him if the manager tell him that he need higuain in his team. if not, queiroz's situation will happen again (queiroz don't see beckham in his plan but perez still bough him)

Arsenal have failed with a contract offer for Fellani with a starting salary of 70,000pw the player is currently on 75,000pw. Yes this means we have indeed released his buy-out clause and once the player returns from his holiday next week we should have completed Higuain's deal and will make an improved contract offer. All news about us not matching his buy-out clause is preposterous as his buy-out clause is quite clear and Wenger wants a deal done quickly.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There has been no offer submitted yet. Only goal (the most unreliable website there is) have said we have.
For some reason Dicky can't negotiate two transfers simultaneously like other teams, so we shall wait and see.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't understand why we would even think about offering him £5k a week less than he is currently earning if "Wenger wants a quick deal".

Surely if that was the case he at least offer him £75k a week and the lure of Champions League football and a title challenge? Deal done!

Is it just me?

I'm really worried about getting Reina. I think he's well past it and would much prefer Cesar.

If he comes I'll back him it I think he's too expensive and not the keeper he was - I used to think he was best in the world - wasn't it 5 goals conceded from 9 attempts after just 2 or 3 games at the beginning of last season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He looks like he can't be arsed any more. IMO he's looked nonchalant for three last 2 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would prefer Schez and Fab to Reina and Cesar.

Tom.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never mind Reina! We could be looking at the "Here we go again" situation. Today's tv gossip quotes that Man City will not pay the £53mil. release clause for Cavani. Could this indicate a switch by City to go for Higuain? Also a source says that Rooney would prefer a move to Chelski. I know that deals go on behind the scenes, but you see where I'm coming from. Another article says that we are "considering" an activation of Fellaini's release clause. I thought we had already! Oh. and Celtic have accepted Southampton's £10 mil. offer for Wanayama. but we are still interested. I'm an old cynic and I feel that a lot of fans will be disappointed. However, Wenger could surprise us with something unexpected. Let's keep our fingers crossed. The squad must be improved. The stress is getting to me!

Agree0 Disagree0

That could have a lot to do with the defense there is only so much a keeper can do!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree, don't want Reina unless it was for about £5m. like you would prefer Cesar

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah would prefer Cesar, Brkic, ter Stegen or Begovic.

Mark1234

Agree0 Disagree0

You think Reina is past it and Cesar isn't? Cesar has nothing to prove anymore and looks like he simply cannot be arsed

Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

If we get Reina for around 5m is be delighted

He hasn't been great lat few years but sometimes that's because players get complacent, a change of scenery may be the best thing it him and is perfect if he's no1 for 2 years then Shez can retake his place win win
Dandan

Agree0 Disagree0

We have activated his clause but we didn't make a formal offer it was a verbal agreement to match it. Media caught wind we matched it researched it to find there was no official bid and so said we were 'considering it' in the end. Truth is we have offered around 70, 00pw which is 5k lower than what he is on already at Everton but we will put another contract offer out as we want the deal done quickly.

Note: When you see the media release salary figures on a transfer pay attention this usually means somehow a figure has been leaked and then it's Chinese whispers in the papers as about 90% of papers get the correct figure wrong but at least they've sourced a concrete offer.
