Napoli struggling to make sure 3rd spot. I'm sure rafa will leave. If they don't skank europa league then no champs league

So would any of you move for higuain again?

Can think of worse options. How old is Gonzalo these days?

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 06:21:44
No, I am not convinced we need him. The transfer funds could be better spent on a top keeper and a defensve midfield player.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 07:08:22
Hes 27 turns 28 at the end of the year. The guy is a deadly finisher

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 09:13:59
No he's not he's been alright this season, but his stats are ni where near girouds

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 09:23:42
I'm not sure we need to sign a player who blanked us two years ago.
For me first chioce Gk and Lb are must haves then cover for DM CB and striker.
Its a fine balance between rotation and continuity and if you have to many top players you've got your hands full to keep that team spirit and a happy camp.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 09:49:24
hes carrying them saint. i think he'd smash it here. his goal return is always good. napoli have gone backwards under rafa

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 11:02:09
Great striker but that position is not a priority for us at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 15:46:06
YES. I would take him. Giroud has been scoring, but truth be told, he is not premier league winning material

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 22:04:14
If QPR go down,

Cheeky bid for Charlie Austin?

Apart from Olly, we don't actually have an out and out striker at the club.

I think he will be terrific at Arsenal.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

23 Mar 2015 06:23:16
No, we have a better quality version in Giroud. We have Welbeck who can play in the middle and we need to allow Akpom to come through.

Agree3 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 08:24:36
We need somebody to compliment Giroud and to give him a rest.

Not sure I trust Welbz as a striker.

Akpom? One for the future.

Austin? Almost the finished product and will be a cheap(ish) pick up.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 08:53:28
Speaking of cheap(ish) pick up's.

Oh wait, wrong site.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 10:08:57
What about Danny Ings? How good is he?

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 15:15:42
He's very good, in a struggling Burnley team.

Pretty certain he's Manchester United bound.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 15:47:48
Charlie Austin would score double the goals he has if he played with the midfield we have. I drink... A lot, but with Ozil, Santi etc giving me service, I don't think I would have a problem scoring at least ten goals a season

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 20:35:29
Theo v Sterling?

No contest.

If fit, Theo is way better than Sterling.

And why do we want Theo sold?

We have been complaining for years that our squad is not good enough or big enough to compete.

Now, we have a terrific squad, 2 players for every position, and people want Theo sold?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

22 Mar 2015 21:17:51
IF and only if as being reported he wants more money to sign a new deal would you give in to he demands Dags?
If yes why? And what about all those on less money than Theo who are doing a brilliant job for us, more for them too?
A lot of questions in one go i know but saves all that chuckle brothers business :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you have to pay the going rate G62, its as simple as that mate..

22 Mar 2015 21:46:50
Im not sure many do want him sold, but we need a return and he's not good value. Its like having a Ferrari and it being in the garage because its always breaking down, youd get rid. Theo is blighted by injury and i don't think wenger trusts his body 100% anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 23:54:46
Absolutely correct theo twice as good as sterling

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 00:45:53
Agree with Ed (good win today by the way Ed).

We have built a good squad.
Let's not start dismantling it for the sake of a few thousand pounds.

Once fully fit, Theo will be a major plus and a game changer.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 08:18:31
Fair enough but if Theo earned a £10,000 reward what's Giroud Ox Kos earned? For me its same terms or ta ta

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 08:32:00
Theo is a top player but unfortunately he is a Liverpool fan and was trying to engineer a move there during his last contract talks. He has a poor attitude IMO and Wenger's comments he was hard to convince last time out are worrying. If you need convincing to stay at our wonderful club then I personally don't want you here. I am not sure Liverpool have the cash or will be in the CL next year. I am almost certain he will sign for Chelsea or Mancity on a free at the end of his contract, or for an inadequate amount of money in the summer. He will move for money, disguise it as ambition and mainly warm the bench for either of those teams. One thing is for sure, I won't miss him that much. In 9 years he has had one really good season for us and for him to be on top of his game it seems the planets have to be aligned perfectly and even then it doesn't last for long. All of that said though, I hope he stays because when he is on top form he is unplayable and clinical.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 09:39:42
Totally agree Davros he's not exactly irreplaceably is he! We have Danny Ox Gnarby don't see any need to panic about him at all.
I mean we are flying without him as he can see from his best seat in the house each week so if he goes he goes no big deal either way for me

In another 25 years we won't need referees to make the decisions as we will have computer's controlling the game. All the dater from thousands of football matches like fouls, stamping, diving etcetera in fact every conceivable action that leads to a decision will be held by the computer. The referee would then only be needed through his ear phone link to follow the computers instruction which would be instant, he will not even need a whistle as this will go over loudspeaker at the ground. The computerised voice will also explain the decision to the crowd. Roll on 2040.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

23 Mar 2015 22:37:22
Why not just have Terminators for refs?

The good news is if we beat Liverpool next game up we'll be 9 clear of 5th with only 7 to go meaning we'd have to loose 3 of those 7 to fail.
Were in a great position just hope the internationals are kind to us injuries wise.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 17:17:27

22 Mar 2015 19:40:18
Lol G62, I love your posts and banter mate :)

Obviously I'm over the moon today, tbh though I expected it.
Herrera and Smalling (my man lol) were very good along with the magical Mata who ran the show.

I'm not getting to far ahead of myself but a win against villa has to be expected now which will mean your next game the pressure will switch onto u and pool.

I still hope they do a number on u lot though and u miss out and let the clubs with a target of doing well in the CL get on with the CL :)

Agree0 Disagree2

22 Mar 2015 20:17:05

Do your players know where Europe is?

Its been a long time mate.

I have it on good authority, Louis Van plastic face was seen in Argos after today's game buying a European Satnav.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 21:34:28

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 22:15:11
Shocking dags really bad that.

Either way we had more chance of winning the CL than u this season.

G62 I hope u are taking this for what it really is mate. I'm only mucking about here buddy. If u ever think I want pool to win u're wrong, but for the image I have to uphold I think ure luck is running out now I predict a fight for 4th for u.

Derby, I look forward to reminding u at the end of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2015 08:08:24
Hi Chris I know mate its all good banter :-)
I can only bring myself to say this once but if you finish top 4 you deserve it because over 38 games all teams get what they've been worth, spit spit that hurt :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 14:31:23
Anyone watching Sterling?

If the pool love Sterling and he wants 150k a week, then I really don't get those who want Theo out.

Theo is worth 100 Sterlings

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Mar 2015 14:53:03
im sorry but that is just complete rubbish. Yes sterling is having a poor game but he is without a doubt a better player than walcott, and far younger

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 14:53:11
Why does he deserve a pay rise Ozil?
Seriously mate what's he done to justify one?
Personally I think he should be grateful for the clubs patients and snatch thier hand off for an extension of his current terms and set about showing his appreciation to manger club and fans for their support of him over what have been very inconsistent years with the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 15:15:30
I didn't say he deserved a pay rise - I said he was better than Sterling - and he is miles, miles better.

If you can't see than you don't understand football. In my humble opinion, of course:)

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 15:22:41
Jesus I've read some utter drivel on here before but that takes the biscuit, who've you been watching over the last 2 years of you think Theo is better than Sterling.
And the you've got the stones to say others don't understand football

Funniest thing I've read in years.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 15:26:06
Better than Sterling that's opinion Ozil but the club either give Theo more money or part company that's reality

Agree1 Disagree1

22 Mar 2015 15:31:36
I guess I've got the stones as I've watched a lot of football and I would think the stats would back me up - I'll go and have a look.

Sterling had a purple patch and lives off the glory. Walcott has suffered injury but when fit is a better finisher, and faster. Neither can cross.

Sorry, I am surprised the feeling for theo. I guess you weren't there at the spurs game? I for one am glad he's back.

He's a brilliant role model for young fans, he's a good finished and an arsenal player.

I think too much consumer society effects around here. I don't throw things away if they are useful

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 15:42:00
Ok so here's the stats

2010-11 28 apps 9 goals
2011-12 35 apps 8 goals
2012-13 32 apps 14 goals
2013-14 13 apps 5 goals

My point is, for a right winger, that is a solid return, and stats that are better than the bandwagon drums would allow you to believe.

I like FACTS, they help with the weight of the stones:)

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 15:53:33
Lol then has pace and that's it I'm afraid, sterling is creative skilful, pacy and can finish, he miles ahead of theo (pains me to admit )

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 16:08:39
So given those facts Ozil would you give into his pay demands?
Forget the bandwagon does he get more money?
In my opinion its debatable if he deserves more time to relise that undoubted potential but there's no way I'd give him both more time and even more money, would you?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 16:44:12
No G62, no more money really if he's on 100k. He's been out a year and only 2 years into his new contract.

I still think at 26 it makes sense as the next 4 years we should see the best of him. If Sterling (20 goals in 92 games) is still doing it 3 years we'll see and i'll eat humble pie. At the moment he is worth keeping imo.

Doubt this can be settled immediately but he is too good a player to lose, especially as Wenger wants Ox in centre mid and there is no certainty players like sanchez will remain loyal - much as we can hope they will - gnabry jury out, miyaichi (who I though would be great) hasn't come through either. We need the impact speed to get behind defenses

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 17:00:49
Your replys were even funnier, didn't think you could manage it but you did, well done

I love Theo, I can't think of one aspect of the game were he's better than sterling..... Maybe 'role model' I'll be laughing about that one all night

And you pick one game against Spurs when he had a good game, you might watch a lot of football but it's clearly
not Arsenal or Liverpool games, I'm guessing you had to drop the 'not bad for a. winger' comment because when you trotted off to do the research you realised Sterlings stats where way better

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 17:11:09
Well Ozil mate at least we all agree no more money, so it's in his hands?
If Cole wasnt worth a £5000 rise most certainly Theo's not

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 17:16:47
I've just explained theo has a one in three game goal rate over 5 years and sterling has a one in four in two years.

I can only assume if you are laughing, you must be looking at a mirror

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 18:07:03
Just to be clear, 1404, that was just teasing nothing more. All on the same side at the end of the day

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 18:12:06
Theo is the better finisher and I think faster runner just. Sterling is the better dribbler and quicker with the ball

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 18:56:40
They should team up as a pop duo Derby call them selfs the Flying wingers and resalse versions of Money money money and I need dollar :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 19:39:09
I agree with Ozil everyday. Sterling had a purple patch which was last season when Liverpool almost won the EPL and although he is one of the best young talents in the PL, I wouldn't swap him with a fit and in form Theo. Walcott's purple patch was probably when he bagged an England hat-trick and was on everyone's lips but over the length of his whole career, he has still managed to maintain commendable statistics. All in all, (in my opinion) Sterling could quite conceivably go on to surpass Walcott but he hasn't done that yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 20:28:00
Trust me perfect mate if he signs an extended deal on the same money I certainly won't be shy in apologizing very loud and clear no if buts or maybes I promise.
Time will tell us eventually mate

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 10:26:07
Great stat there dags

Agree with you defensively we were excellent the best I has seen for some time....some real unity

Believable0 Unbelievable2

22 Mar 2015 09:54:25
Why does Theo think he deserves a pay rise? What's he done to back up this demand?
I'd have thought £90,000 a week was plenty for a player who misfires every bit as often as he is magnificent.
Sagna was a fantastic servant to our club and stood by us in his prime when others jumped ship at the first chance they got but rightly or wrongly we wouldn't give in to his demands of one last big pay day so why shoukd we give in to Theo's who's still a long long way from a very top premier league performer.
I'd take a decent offer this summer and cut our losses on a 26 year old who's still only potentially brilliant

Believable3 Unbelievable0

22 Mar 2015 10:48:43
Theo this season is a bit of a mystery for me, I feel he is being protected still for some reason, he needs game time to find form but isn't getting the chance.

As for the pay rise that can be taken with a pinch of salt as the papers tend to twist things.

Although I do know someone that delivered him his girlfriends brand new Ferrari and they didn't like the colour so sent it back to be thermo wrapped, the money these guys earns is crazy!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 11:22:25
I agree 732 that the pepers invent and inflame situations but if its not money whys he stalling on a new deal.
Im not sure Arsene isn't running out of patients both on and off the pitch with Theo hence his lack of games.
Sterling is what 7 years younger than Theo but has already out performed him in terms of the number of very good games he's had.
I'd cash in this summer personally

22 Mar 2015 11:29:50

22 Mar 2015 12:06:10
Gunner i think patience with theo, shez and possibly gibbs for varying reasons is running thin, i would not be surprised if an offer comes in all three may be moved on, along with pod cambell and flamini.

Agree0 Disagree1

22 Mar 2015 12:33:34
wenger has 2 more years after this campaign, i would think the man wants to win a league title before he calls it quits.

and if selling players like walcott help him get a bigger player i'm sure he will do it.

lets see what the summer brings. we need a fix ox, a rested sanchez, giroud needs to have another excellent campaign, the defense needs to stay together and get better, and bellerin is going to be the RB of the future. hope barca don't come for him, which looks likely with the way he's played, he reminds me of jordi alba.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 14:25:46
I agree Larker time is running out for Arsene and I'm sure with it are his patients.
We have a great record on backing youngsters and giving them a chance but there comes a time and an age by which you have to deliver or make way.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 17:11:51
G62 - not sure Arsenal will ever run out of patients, at the very least Diaby will always be one!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 17:43:22
Fair point Excilled :-) i think we'd all prefer Theo to come good and maybe even EARN a pay rise after a couple of 30+ game season's in which he produced at a very high standard consistently.
But I think Arsene must be feeling more than a little let down by and agrry at a player he's had defend from pundits on many occasions for trying to squeeze the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 19:43:14
It's true that you should always take what you read in the papers with a pinch of salt G62, there are many reasons that a player could not be signing a contract - not just money. I think it's quite likely that he is looking at the Ox, Welbeck, Gnabry, Sanchez etc. every day and panicking. Maybe he wants guaranteed game time?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 20:09:27
Im a theo fan, i'm a gibbs fan, i was a diaby fan, but i also see that we haven't got our monies worth out of them and they haven't got the experience they should have at their age because they have played the same amount of football as a 21 year old rookie. I do think if they were not injury prone they would be top class players now, but mentally it must take its toll as well as physically. Some point you have to say, this is not goingvto get better, we never did with diaby. Big decisions like that are sometimes the hardest to take. Value for money is poor in these situations.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 06:16:32

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2015 06:04:21
Pleased with yesterday's win. The team looked weary in the second half, following the midweek match against Monaco. I was very impressed with Ospina, Gabriel & Giroud. The full backs were of concern for me. I am forgiving with Chambers as he is only 20 years of age, but he had a poor game. I have a feeling he will ultimately become a centre back. Fortunately we have Debuchy & Bellerin ahead of him. At left back, Monreal tends to struggle due to his lack of pace. Gibbs having started his career as a midfeild player, never looks a natural defender to me.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

22 Mar 2015 10:39:09
Monreal is a very good number 2 LB but I'd love to see us sign a top class first choice LB.
I like Keiran as a person he's loyal and never a problem but sadly his instincts are attacking not defending, may be keep him as wide MF player and emergency LB but I'm not sure at his age just being a back up squad player is fair on him.
If we want to be champions we can't keep being sentimental it would be lovely if we could but unfortunately being the best means making decisions you'd rather not have to make.
