Met this woman last night in the pub. Went back to her place and we were getting all friendly on the settee.
She said "shall we take this upstairs?" I said "yeh ok, you grab one end I will grab the other".

The more I hear about us and Draxler the less I think we will get him.we never end up with players we are linked to for weeks or months.

No mention of Ranaldo or Messi so Hopes are high :-)

must win game tomorrow.
if southampton win, they could, technically go above us if liverpool fail to win.
come on arsenal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi DG long time no banter me old mate, .
Surely if they beat us by two goals they will go above us regardless of Liverpool's result?
Or am I missing something?

Agree0 Disagree0

Players have had a decent rest, Theo's back. Can't see us getting beat as long as we convert our chances.
There's no such thing as an easy win anymore but I expect this to be a demolition.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi G62,
yes mate I've been having a few quiet days lol.
nah mate, southampton are a point behind liverpool so if lpool win they stay above soton mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually G62, I think you are correct, I was reading the table wrong.
Yes, I think they have to beat us by 2 clear goals to go above us. you are correct my friend.

Agree0 Disagree0

MgM I hope you are correct but I can't see it. Any team that is currently 3rd in the league and has only conceded 5 goals in 11 matches and drew at Old Trafford and beat Liverpool away deserves some respect mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

DG I think there a fantastic team playing excellent football, I just think our style will be a little to much.
They have a great manager and some of the best up and coming players, but we are finally starting to get a fully fit squad, with players fighting to play.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey DG its good to hear from you mate regardless what the permutations are, and let's hope we never find out because we get 3pts and stay top

Agree0 Disagree0

MgM I hope you are correct my friend, would love us to give them a good hammering so we can get back on track after the OT defeat.
Good to hear from you G62 and yes my friend if we win we stay top. As the meerkats would say, SIMPLES.

Just to follow up, the same reasons why I can see Suarez moving in January (not being cup-tied and he expressed a desire to leave) are the same reasons why I do not think we will get Benzema in January. No inside secret sauce here, but just using logic: why would Wenger buy Benzema in January if he cannot represent us in Champions League?

Trinidad-Gooner

Believable0 Unbelievable0

But if we buy Benzema and he helps us win the league than in my book that's good business.

Di Maria or Draxler?

I say Draxler. I would love him at the Emirates. He's such a classy player and still maturing. He's not as good as Di Maria right now but will be soon

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hey Messenger,

At the moment, I would say that we could probably use Di Maria more right now as we are short of true out-and-out wingers. But I would still be tempted to take Draxler because, as you said, he is younger and looks to have a higher ceiling. If either of them joined next summer I would be more than happy to be honest.

Trinidad-Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Maria is better, so him. Draxler has a few years yet before he reaches that level.
Before we worry about wingers though I think first and foremost we need to sort out
-a striker
- a right back

Everything else is a luxury

Hi everyone,

I want to know what peoples' thoughts and opinions are on Luis Suarez and whether or not you see him moving in January.

I know that Liverpool have said he is not for sale, and obviously they would want to keep such a rare talent, but teams always say that for the press. I just think a player of Suarez's quality deserves to be in the Champions League, and I'm not even a fan of the guy's character.

To me it just makes perfect sense: big players do not usually move in January because they would be cup-tied, but that is not the case with Suarez, and teams trying to make a real push in the Champions League could sway the balance of power in their favour with such a signing.

Imagine if Madrid gets him in January, that would probably make them favourites along with Bayern right? Imagine if Bayern got him, okay, that might be a bit ridiculous lol.

. and I know that we would be a less likely destination because Liverpool don't want to sell to us and would definitely try to over-charge us, but imagine if we got him?

And before Liverpool supporters say, "we are not Arsenal, we do not sell to rivals." - what about Torres? I know that was a different time and manager and that they needed the money, but money talks, doesn't it?

(I have also heard that the 50m Chelsea paid for Torres was a buy-out clause, and that Liverpool were powerless in that situation, maybe Ed could confirm that)

Anyway, just my thoughts on a rainy Caribbean morning. I would love to hear Ed's take and others' thoughts as well. Good luck to the boys tomorrow.

Peace,

Hi TG

To be honest I don't see Suarez coming to Arsenal. And I think there's no way Liverpool will let him leave in January after the start they have had. Although Real Madrid might make a bid for him I don't see Liverpool letting him go, maybe in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey GoonerMKD,

I agree with you, it's hard to see him joining us now, especially after the statements from John Henry over the 40m+1 bid we made in the summer.

But I find it hard to believe that a player of that quality would be content with not playing at the highest level.

Sadly, money rules the world, and I guess it will come down to whether or not Liverpool need the $ (I don't know what their financial situation is) or if Liverpool think they can push for silverware this year. They have definitely had a brilliant start (as have we), but I think a 50m bid in January would definitely test their resolve.

Cheers,
Trinidad-Gooner

Suarez is beyond our scope.

Liverpool look at us as their rivals,
Man Utd look at us as their rivals,
So does chelsea and city.

while we freely sell to whichever team gets us the best deal.

while a lot of our own fans are gutted by this, the agenda should be to do what is best for your own team, not worry about others.

RVP, Nasri, Clichy, good riddance.

if other teams want to keep their unhappy players in fear of us outplaying them, that is their stumbling block.

at the end of the day by keeping suarez, they have only resolved the issue short term, the sharks will circle, the player will move and liverpool have only delayed their rebuilding process.

And when you deal with Madrid, and they know the player is desperate to join them, they will take their utmost time to play dirty and frustrate the selling club and player.

If I remember right, fergie was so incensed that he claimed he would not sell them a virus, until a year later after another month long saga.

winner in the end is madrid. They won't get as much as you think they can get for him.

we should try and see how the market favours us, which is what we always do, but I won't be surprised if wenger brings in a wing supplement rather than an out and out striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Lakerville, your opinions are always interesting!

I agree with most of what you said but I'm not sure that I agree that Suarez is beyond our scope, unless it's Liverpool simply refusing to sell to us. I share your sentiments on Madrid though, they do seem to play dirty.

"if other teams want to keep their unhappy players in fear of us outplaying them, that is their stumbling block." - haha very true

The first game after an international break is always tricky, and with Southampton being in impressive form so far this season it's going to be difficult. But we are at home and players like Özil have had a rest which was very much needed. Let's just hope we can pick up the quick creative passing straight away and not need a couple of games before we get back in the groove. One of the things we lacked against united due to fatigue was movement off the ball and players making themselves available. That sort of shift is essential against a well organized team in Southampton. COME ON YOU GOONERS, let's get back to winning ways.

Hoping Theo will get some time on the pitch. Think he will have a lot of good runs

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's about time for them to hit a bad patch in the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

After having our pride well dented at old Trafford we will be keen to show that was just a blip and with some players getting a well deserved rest we should be in good shape to do that.
Southampton are a good side and have been to Liverpool and utd and got good results but this is a 3 pt must for us if we are going to be there or there abouts come May.
It won't be easy but we are capable of making it look that way, come on lads let's get back to businesses with a BANG

With six of the top eight playing each other this weekend points have to be dropped, which puts real pressure on utd and Chelski to get 3 points in tricky away games.
The next couple of months will go a long way to separate pretenders from contenders for both the title and top four places.

Welcome back PL you've been missed

Which players would you anticipate selling or releasing in the January &/or summer windows?

Someone posted on here about the new suits Arsenal are wearing and they look very smart and he is going to the gift shop to get fitted out.
You can also buy Bendtner Hair Straightners or the short name for them is BS's and also cheap Bendtner football boots. Only trouble with the boots is they only come in pairs of left footed ones no right ones.but if that's what Bentdner wears that's good enough for me! LOL got to have a laugh even if sometimes it's at our own teams expense! it lightens things up! Wouldn't you all agree?
