Not sure about the team tonight, monreal must be injured with iwobi and xhaka on left, i don't see a lot of strength there, lich will be a bit exposed. what's wrong with auba?
Still, i expect to scrape a win. Lacca needs to be up for it with ozil and iwobi not being goal machines.

Iwobi has been in excellent form mate and think Dick has said "I've given you your chance and you've grabbed it with both hands so I'm going to reward that with my backing for as long as you continue to so "
To me that's how it should be.
Prior to this season I've not been an Iwobi fan by any means but Iwobi has changed my mind for me and I'm happy to see him in the starting 11.

Hi Ed,

Is there any truth to this £40M limit on our spending?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Arsenal coming up with any specific figures at this time and right now the club can only guess at the income from this year - athough not having Champions League fottball is a decent sized dent in the income. Additionally, any guess at figures would also need to take account of sales. It would be reasonable to assume that if Ramsey needs replacing the cost would not be insignificant (say the £40M you quote) and other purhases would generally be funded by sales. The club also need to keep an eye on the wage bill which is pretty much maxed out. Regardless, I would not concern yourself about specific figures at this time.}

If it’s true it’s a joke,

The January window will be interesting. Will we able to sell Ramsey and Welbeck, or will they depart for nothing in the summer?
The 5 signings made during the last window appear to have been decent acquisitions at reasonable figures. Assuming we retain the current squad after the window, then the squad could take us failrly successfully up to the end of the season.
Of course improvements can always be made, particularly a wide attacking player. During the summer window, we may need a replacement for Cech, Lichtsteiner and a left back, probably a replacement for Monreal.

Net spend of 40 mil is in line with what we have been trying to achieve recently. I think the lack of CL and our massive wage bill is a shackle.

I agree RG. Vast amounts were not spent summer gone and it’s fair to say there has been improvements along with Torreira and Leno working their way in, also Guendouzi looks a snip. We need to get Ramsey sorted one way or another. If we are talking say 40 mil and let’s say that’s for January window then that’s not a bad figure for jan as it wouldn’t be great to bring in too many. We need to see also how things are looking after Christmas and if there are any notable weaknesses.

Good anecdotes Ed! Slow news days are better! Have you seen anything of bolt? Do you think he will make it? He's starting a bit late! Most players are winding down at his age.

{Ed001's Note - for a footballer Bolt is a very good sprinter. He is ok like, but he wouldn't get offered a contract if he wasn't Bolt and would bring in crowds as he is not really good enough.

Slow news days are harder work for me though! I do love the anecdotes though. The problem is a lot of them I know I could never use sadly.}
