Gunnerwin,

Sorry u don't understand the new terminology mate but for the record I really think arsenal are missing the type of player than can recive slipped passes from the DLP moving into space created by the B2B CM and bringing the IW into play to allow the trequista to move balls in to the mixer to create fire for the AF to feed off.

Hope that clears it up mate :)

Hoffenhiem playing 3 at the back in the first 20 minutes vs liverpool got absolutely ruined, if we do the same thing sunday it could be embarrassing.

What's all this 9 days rubbish Mark? We can sign players who don't have a club anytime we want plus Dags and Steve are both available most weekends although midweek fixtures might prove tricky :-)
Think outside the triangle and you won't go wrong mate :-)

Another great chance to address our weaknesses in midfield and central defense slowing being wasted. Next year when sanchez and ozil, we'll push some youngster or a new signing in their place and wait another 2 years for them to get good enough. We are a club forever playing catch up.

ed do u expect Goretzka to leave this summer? everything has gone quiet on him.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have explained repeatedly about Goretzka. Try the search engine.}

23 Aug 2017 12:03:20
sorry mate, i thought things might have updated with him.

23 Aug 2017 13:59:03
Today's headlines are so laughable, "Arsenal in race with Barcelona to sign Goretzka" really, the guys be available all summer for the right price but suddenly we're in a race. Unbelievable πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The other story line I love is "Liverpool are preparing a 2nd bid"

What are they doing to prepare, counting the money into a suit case, robbing a few banks, going around the ground with a collection tin?

NB, I just used Liverpool as an example😁.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2017 14:11:11
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚that actually is funny, what are they actually preparing for loool.

Haha yes AJH, I've been waiting for Sydney to come and remind me.

I guess he's waiting until we finally let him go. πŸ˜‚.

23 Aug 2017 16:44:33
It is Liverpool so robbing banks is a possibility . The only reason the Mersey runs through Liverpool is so that it doesn't get muggedπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Sorry ed25 I couldn't help myself.

{Ed025's Note - thats fine SLB, we all have parts of our cities that are no-go areas mate..in liverpool its anfield.. :)

It's alright Ed025.we can understand why anfield is no go for u. too many horrifying memories of everton being smashed! Lol! Anyways we love coming to goodison and smashing u there as well!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - in the recent past we have not done too well SW i agree but thats in the past, we are a different kettle of fish now and its very sad that your success in recent years is defined by how you do against us mate...oh how the mighty have fallen..

23 Aug 2017 10:40:05
Hi all,

As the transfer window deadline looms ever closer. I cannot see through any media outlet that we are negotiating any imminent arrivals. My obvious concern is the glaring issue of Centre Back and Central Midfield. With the rhetoric around the club focusing on departures, I find it had to believe we don't have and 'irons in the coals' for any of these two positions.

Eds, are there any negotiation with players coming in ongoing? And who are the likely candidates to arrive?

PS I'd give Wiltshire on more chance.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have explained where there is interest. I am not prepared to get in to any discussions regarding who is on a plane, having a medical or whatever. Tomorrow the club has the opportunity to speak with a number of other sides about transfers and they will no doubt take it.}

23 Aug 2017 13:06:58
Sorry if this is a stupid question ed but why is their an oooertininty to speak with a number of clubs tomorrow. Thought it was simple as doing it whenever they wanted. Apologies if I've misread this it just intrigued me also after the papers saying tomorrow arsenal will be able to sit and talk to the ox. What makes tomorrow any different than the other days lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Many clubs are gathered in Monaco/MC for a meeting that a number of the "elite" sides have, side meetings about players and for the latter draws.}

23 Aug 2017 22:51:50
Oh really. Interesting ed I never knew that.

24 Aug 2017 21:34:13
Thank's Ed002. I appreciate the repeated questions must become a bit tedious. However, for us mere mortals, we live vicariously through the Eds. Any glimmers of hope are greatly appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - nothing has changed this evening.}

It's a massive 8 days coming up. Against Liverpool I would like to see a back three of Mustafi, Mertesacker and Koscielny. The two holding players would be Xhaka and Coquelin. The four would be Bellerin, Ox, Ramsey and Sanchez with Lacazette up front. This would be a far better balanced team than the disjointed team that started against Stoke. I would consider bringing Ozil back at home to Bournemouth. Hiowever, I can see Wenger playing Monreal with Mustafi and Koscielny. I can see Ramsey starting alongside Xhaka to retain Ozil in the starting eleven and Sanchez will be on the bench to accommodate having Bellerin and Ox in the team and the fact that Sanchez may still depart after the Liverpool game. I still believe that we will struggle to keep the contract rebels, as I don't believe any of them believe enough in the team/ manager, especially after the [erformance at Stoke. I hope that we have a replacement for Sanchez lined up, such as Lemar. If Ox goes, we can cope without him until the January window. The problem with Ozil is that if he doesn't sign, I can't envisage anyone signing him before this window closes.

Apparently Arsene has told a Swedish journalist in an interview he is very happy with the 2 players he's got and the transfer market prices are to inflated right now to do more business.
How true I don't know and wether it's a bluff is anyone's guess.
An inflated market is surely the perfect place to sell I'd have thought even if it means compensating the players for loss of earnings if they move.

23 Aug 2017 10:27:26
I recall hearing the same gunner62. Unfortunately Wenger is clearly out of touch with the current market and is always looking for a bargain, whilst the likes of Man City, Man U and Chelsea are spending. For around Β£150m we may be able to sign N'Zonzi. Van Dijk and Lemar. We could sell Sanchez, Elneny, Gibbs, Perez, Akpom and Campbell for approx Β£100m, meaning a net spend of Β£50m.

Liverpool have CL so that's our excuse in years gone by. Let's hope it's roles reversed now.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Aug 2017 10:55:05
My personal guess and that's all it is that we will make a Danny Welbeck type signing on deadline day to pacify people.
Probably a 20 to 25 million player or maybe two players for around 10 to 15 millions each.
Maybe we will do much more or even less than that but it's just my guess.

23 Aug 2017 12:32:52
Lets judge him at the end of the window, but if he doesn't sign a cb and cdm by the end of the window the man is clearly clueless.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2017 13:10:17
I hope Arsene doesn't readily your post Olber or he won't sign either just to prove he isn't clueless and doesn't need to prove it by doing what you say :-)
One thing Arsene is and that's extremely confident in his own decisions being the right ones and the people question him the more determined he becomes to stick to his own view.
The trick is trying to convince him that the obvious choice is his chioce all along :-) we need a hypnotist first and foremost:-)

22 Aug 2017 23:47:46
Ed, is it true that Jack will be given a second chance and we will put our faith in Santi, Jack, Granit and Elneny in midfield? So no signings in midfield?

Can you confirm where our main interest is with a short period of the window left please.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I can't answer those questions about second chances man.}

23 Aug 2017 06:37:03
The problem with keeping Wilshere is that he should be played in an offensive position opposed to having a role as a DM player. In this role we have quite few options. Indeed in the new formation this is one of Wenger's downfalls as he insists on playing offensive players who are not good at protecting the back three as their prime objective. In the old days we had combinations of Vieira, Petit and Gilberto, all of whom were tall, athletic and could tackle. I would love to see us sign N'zonzi to play alongside Xhaka. This would be more along the lines of the 3 players I just mentioned, opposed to smaller, more attacking players such as Santi, Ramsey, Ox, Wilshere, etc. In Wilshere's case you want to avoid playing him in a position where he has to tackle as he is susceptible to lower leg injuries. Imagine Ox and Wilshere playing centrally in the four played in front of the two DM players, with Bellerin and Kolasinac either side of them.
