Cambridge Utd's annual wage bill is the equivalent to what Angel Di Maria earns in 38 days.

I'm all for paying extra for quality, but that's just plain obscene.

Not sure where the question for poll of the day game from and with all due respect to which ever ed put it up but what a load of bow locks and where the feck did it even come from.

Did that tool on drivel time say something. Amazed 4 people said yes but guessing they must have been spurs or worse.

Do they just come up with utter cod to have a dig at Arsenal. That is just glaringly pathetic.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - your post shows how defensive you are, which suggest it has something to it. It was clearly a reference to the pathetic over the top celebrations which brought back memories of the ludicrous ones each season when you get your 4th placed cup. The only bow locks is the way you are biting, rather than giving any kind of argument against that being the case.....}

23 Jan 2015 21:31:11
I agree with origan poster! It just seems the question was half hearted , as in we had one good performance and we can't have another , but we are and we should also ask these questions all the the time as we can not hold our season like before on one result! Our next 10 results will determine if we have turned a corner u can't judge that on 1 result!

Ed01 having watched the game on TV I was only aware of Chamberlain carrying Cazorla off in a piggy back and Sly news were only showing Cazorla doing his little jig after he took the free kick and Giroud scored.

So rather than biting I'm wondering who started that load of bow locks.

We played a great game against City and won, where the drivel of excessive celebrating came from is what stumped me.

Appreciate you are the founder of this page but I'm giving my opinion that I was amazed that it was even reported, didn't see or hear it anywhere until I read that poll question and suspected it may as I said have come from that tool AD.

I am not into celebrating dick unless we actually win something.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no it was all over the coverage abroad pictures of them celebrating and the questions were raised. There is a lot of talk about whether the height of their ambition is beating a big club finally. I have no idea what Durham had to say, I wouldn't listen to talkshhhh if you paid me to.}

I am one of those who said yes, its cringe worthy the way we celebrated and the way we celebrate 4th place I agree with ed1 and Iam a gunner not a spud it's as if we are all happy with forth

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the point is, do any top teams act like they have won the cup when they beat us. The answer is no, you take your victory and move on to the next game. Celebrrate, when it means something great. Be proud of what you do and prove it wasnt a one off, first. In the great scheme of things it was only three points against a difficult opponent., on its own.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have to say steve...i cant see anything wrong with celebrating beating the champions on their own midden, i think the supporters like a show of passion mate...maybe its just me..

I can see why people on the outside would think celebration's by fans and players might be a bit extreme given it was 3pts not a trophy that had been won.
But for those connected to Arsenal it was much more because of the performance, tactics, effort, disapline willingness to change by Arsene, finding DM in Coq and an end to groundhog day .
OTT to those who don't share our passion for AFC and who haven't shared our pain of naive defeats in previous away games to the big teams most notably Anfield the etihad and boot sale last season

Wasn't even aware of it ed and don't listen to that garbage either but from what everyone says he stokes the fire of anything anti Arsenal.

Like I said, not into celebrating diddly and especially that poxy fourth place trophy. That is just a constant bloody embarrassment.

PS
Personally I'm still buzzing from last Sunday and make no apologies for it what so ever.

I can't see anything wrong with the celebrations.

It has been well documented that we have struggled away to the big teams.

Last season they stuffed us 6-3, so a 2-0 victory, whilst not winning us anything, is still a great result and a major improvement, well worth celebrating.

When we beat them last Sunday, I was practically running around my front room punching the air.

Are the players not allowed to celebrate in the same style?

They train hard all week and analyse the oppositions strengths and weaknesses.
We went there and turned them over and we did it in style.
Job done.

Celebrate?
Damn straight they should celebrate.

Agree0 Disagree0

In my humble opinion it's simple think of the sh@t the players have listened to aswell as the fans about them being bottlers and that we can never beat a top four team and in fairness it was true.

Then bang we go to the champions and get a very good win a win that wasn't let's say won the arsenal way I would think the celebrations were releif on their part for finally getting the monkey off their backs.

Oh just to add I also think that this is all media bull cause if you check players tweets on arsenal.com after most games be it minnows or giants there is always pictures in the dressing room of the players together "celebrating" but we don't hear about them ones just the ones when we beat city. Not a dig at you eds just the media who are talking bout this mountain that's really a molehill.

23 Jan 2015 23:39:31
Our supporters definitely show a lack of passion!our away support make more noise than our home support.!we expect to much , give to little and are due to much!

Agree0 Disagree0

If people think the celebration's at city were OTT wait til they see what we have planned should we beat chavs.
Everything is in place ready for the open top bus and civic reception at Islington town hall but the Nationwide public holiday decision still needs government approval apparently, red tape don't ya just hate it

Apart from a changing room selfie , I don't recall arsenal over celebrating the due win over City!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2015 03:44:13
Beating City at the etihad whilst keeping a clean sheet is not done very often. Also the players celebrating was a sign of respect to the Arsenal fans who had to travel 250+ miles to watch their team.

I agree that the poll question was just trying to provoke us, why ask it now, nearly a week after the game?

players should be allowed celebrate a hard earned win. No need to criticise and cause arguments.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - sign of respect? Or a sign of lack of ambition? Depends on your point of view.

And don't be such a brat, the poll question was not meant to provoke anyone, do you really think you matter that much anyone would be interested in provoking you? Talk about precious!

As for no need to criticise, there is when the team are happy to celebrate 4th place each season....}

Personally I don't see why the poll upset people as I can see why those on the outside might think our celebration's as excessive.
For us it was not only the result but the performance that made us so deliriously happy and I'm still beaming from last Sundays performance very proudly

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont think the poll was unfair G62, as there were comments in the media about it, but give me my players whooping and a hollering any day over smugness, i want to think it means as much to them as it does to me mate..

Should spur's finish 5th and us a place below I'm pretty sure they would celebrate like the had won the treble after waiting so long and people what be saying the same about them.
I think the poll was a fair question and we all had three choices yes no or ignore it.
I really don't understand why people are so offended by it

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2015 10:00:30
I thought the poll was a fair question to be honest.

Like I said earlier, nothing wrong with players celebrating.

Agree0 Disagree0

Again I leave you lot alone for one day and you all start fighting!

You're all grounded and no "x box" for a week (inc you ed001)

Red dog I agree
Maybe we should ask are united happy with a draw at cambridge

This has fairytale written all over it with Manchester United a getting the mighty Cambridge back to their place for a prestigious unprecedented replay in front of their own fans.
The day they U's came to town, its what the fa cup is all about, if only man u can just hang on another 45

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - lets hope not G62.. :)

23 Jan 2015 22:15:37
0-0 g62, good result for the u's.
And could be better result at o.t

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I'd much sooner the players celebrate wildly than to walk off smoothing their hair and looking as though it was all meaningless.

Can't for the life of me see how anyone could read genuine delight for a really vital 3 points as being unambitious. In order to progress and improve we will need to keep improving the squad with great players - that will only be possible if Arsenals business allows for that expense and that will only happen if we keep getting in Champions league

Agree0 Disagree0

No matter what happens in the replay its a fantastic achievement for Manchester United to be even be in the draw for the 5th round of the FA cup.
Most Cambridge fans will be searching Google to find out where Manchester is, Chris Redman a Cambridge local himself will be really intrigued to find out

Agree0 Disagree0

Amazed how van gaal masterminded a draw there. he's beginning to bore me now.

Asier Illemerandi anyone?

23 Jan 2015 17:05:05
Better than what we already have. But for £15m - £20m or more we can certainly get someone better.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2015 18:22:34
Don't know too much about him but we could get Sissoko or possibly Wanyama for same price or Schneiderlin for another £5/10m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Id pay 15mill max. i'd prefer a big dm but wenger will be all over this lad. Would be better than arteta for us. What where madrid thinking though splashing over 30mill on him.

A loan this jan ideal. If doesn't work move on.

diaby 16 games in 4 years. he still had his backers on here recently. should of been long gone before his last contract.

wenger saying he is in no position to play for the club. waiting for diaby has set us back. let him go and move on finally

Feel sorry for the guy, but he's not fit for purpose.

Get rid so we can free up his hospital bed for another player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't feel too sorry for him dags, he has collected approx £1m for every game played, I would play for half that even with my dodgy ankles

Agree0 Disagree0

Is the M'vila going to Swansea the one everyone on this board wanted us to break the bank for?

If so, sounds like Arsene got that one right and a lot of posters got it wrong!

23 Jan 2015 17:08:29
Remember he went to Rubin Kazan and his career stagnated. Maybe if he came to Arsenal he would of developed into a fantastic player.

Agree 337.

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember seeing him for france at wembley. He was immense. Had no idea who he was. His attitude got in the way soon after. Such a shame really.

Agree0 Disagree0

Diaby was on play per pay

Agree0 Disagree0

Never rated him when he was fit
