Neymar.

what a player.

23 Jun 2014 22:31:08
was thinking the same, never really thought to much on him in all honesty, but Wow, awesome.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's some great players young players out there like Hazard, Oscar, Pogba, Varane, Cortious the list goes on.

But Neymar has the potential to become an icon of Brazilian football. The posterboy of the current crop and already has the weight of Brazil on his young shoulders if he can keep it up, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Zico, Revelino, and dare I say it Pele will have some more company.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 23:06:03
I don't think he shines at Barca because of Messi, but he's amazing in this Brazil team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get your bullets ready people! But I have spent the tournament so far looking at Neymar and thinking how small the difference between him and Aaron really is in effectiveness.
Ok take aim and fire at will or in this case at G62

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2014 00:02:03
G62,

Nah mate, you are probably right.
Aaron has everything in his locker to make it to the very top and become a world star.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2014 00:28:24
Aaron Lennon?

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean against a cameroon defense that had bigger holes than earthquake?

he's good but he's nowhere in terms of class such as Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez, Aguero, Van Persie.

How come when he plays for barca and he's diving all over the pitch and the ref does not blow the whistles his game is ineffective?

while he has surely thrived in this competition as all brazilians do, it will be normal average football once he retuns to the club, paired up with all the other superstars.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 19:52:45
Ed is a deal for him imminent?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It is a waste of my time asking about the timing of transfers.}

Puma said in early July, fingers crossed not an anti-climax

23 Jun 2014 23:21:24
Am I missing the original post or something?

Who are we referring to?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2014 00:03:41
D_that's what I was thinking.

I'm assuming nuttytelli.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Nuttytelli's buy out clause is far too high for Arsenal.}

23 Jun 2014 18:10:43
are Arsenal looking at a World Class Striker ed or do you see us just doing the usual ie campbell and remy?.also are we still interested in khedira nothing being mentioned lately thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

I've RTP and nothing is clear in my eyes, just hope,?.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It has all been dealt with. Try the search function if reading is a struggle.}

There is a list on the rumours page.

Plz please plz wenger sign de Jong he breaks up everything I would make happy in my pants if we did

Believable0 Unbelievable0

His performance against Chile was pretty good, if he could play like that a season he would be a top signing

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 16:01:49
So it's being reported that Suarez's new clause is 65 million pounds. Please do my heart a favor this summer and refrain from bidding 65,000, 002 pounds. That extra pound would make for double the stress! (Pound joke, see what I did there dags?)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2014 16:21:02
Lol nice on TJRed,

I bet you wished Suarez was having a bad World Cup, to keep Madrid away?

I think his value has gone up even more after the England game, certainly more than Wengers pound.

He's definitely the hottest property around mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 17:40:46
Actually I was hoping he would have a good World Cup, but just not return prematurely. Apparently he did just fine in rehab lol. I just don't believe that reported clause. FSG have proven to be tough negotiators, which has resulted in transfer window frustrations, but also holding onto our best player.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 18:41:19
I think he will stay another season mate but, Barca and Madrid always get there man.

You have been warned, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 19:28:29
Haha it won't be on the cheap if they do mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it wont be tj, im sure liverpool will but the bite on them..

I think last season was his one more season as he wanted to leave last summer, just my opinion but I I think between Liverpool and Suarez the deal has already been done its just a case of where not when.
Just my thoughts and I've been wrong on many many occasions before if you haven't noticed :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we have G62.. :)

The good news is Ed you know where you are with me mate, I'm not one of these sometimes right sometimes wrong sort of blokes my consistency is remarkable :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 20:18:43
I think Suarez will sink his teeth in to get a move.

I think Liverpool have bitten of more than they can chew in trying to keep hold of him.

I think Suarez will bite your arm off to move to Madrid.

He wants to join Madrid because he knows they will be chomp-ions next season.

I bet Suarez is fed up to the back teeth playing for Liverpool.

I amaze even myself sometimes.

23 Jun 2014 21:58:01
We've learned from the best Ed025 :).

Afternnon everyone

been away in Ireland for a while and good to catch up on the entertaining posts.

Gonna play devil's advocate here.

The Balotelli thing does not really excite me. Granted he is an immense talent and if anyone can sort his mind out it would be Wenger. But what worries me is his work rate, in the games I have seen. The way we play demands a lot of movement and hard running from the forward(s) hence Giroud has warmed to me through his efforts.

If we have the reported £100 million to spend, I would offer the lot to Real Madrid for Benzema, Di Maria and Khedera. Problem solved.

Get a goalie on a free, Aurier looks a done deal and we have just banked over £12 million for Vela.

Everyone's happy. or not, love to hear your views.

Be lucky everyone off now for a liver transplant.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd take that OI, mate.

But I can't see us getting 3 players of that ilk in the same window, but I invite Wenger to make me eat these words!

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 16:58:58
Throw Remy in that mix and I will be dribbling at the mouth.

Now, where did I put that bib?

Agree0 Disagree0

That mix would be 2 sand 1 cement would it by any chance Dags, if so great post

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 15:18:28
So I do wonder if we will have a new captain next season. Seems that way of tv5 leaves. Any eds know if they plan to change the captaincy regardless?

To my point who would you guys want as captain next season?

Mine would be the mighty sac at the back!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I can't help, sorry.}

Yeah BFG all the way all day

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 17:15:36
That's ok. Thanks anyway!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mertascker is the right man for job

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 14:38:25
What about Wilfred Zaha in exchange for TommyV. Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2014 18:43:50
Would rather have Wilfred Bramble than Wilfred Zaha.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've a feeling it will be Smalling or Carrick if a deal is done with utd

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 11:29:45
Pogba aside (no way will Wenger pay the 'reported' £60m for him), who would be your ideal midfield enforcer?

For me, shnay, schny, shnood, schniii, schnyid, damn it, the bloke at Southampton looks the real deal.

Great at breaking up play, is not a dirty player, times his tackles well (bit like me in my porno days) and looks like an all-round decent chap.

Also, his price range is in our league.

What do you bunch of ex-convicts and society mis-fits think?.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2014 12:52:04
The Saints guys call him Spyder if that helps Dags. Stats say he is excellent and I think we all, including me, get hooked up with the fact we want someone who looks like they'd kill you if you went anywhere near our back four.

Shame Balotelli's not a CDM. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 12:54:38
Well dags, I'd say whilst Schn. shin. shci.that French lad is certainly a decent player, who does his job very quietly and low key, he'd be 4th on my list!

1: Lars Bender
I know he's said he wants to remain at Leverkussen and I admire that loyalty, I feel a few whispers from our German contingent coupled with a few extra £££'s could work.

2: Sven Bender
So we didn't get the popular girl, but we pulled her less attractive but just as enthusiastic sister.
I don't think Sven has the same level of play at Dortmund as his brother does at Leverkussen, but he's certainly a huuuuge improvement on any 'defensive' mid options we have and I reckon Wengers guidance could help him exceed his brother.

3: Sami Khedira

Khedira would be amazing but I get this feeling that if Madrid do let him go, he'd link up with Jose at the chavs as by all accounts they had a good working relationship.
Unless the pull of a former team mate and fellow not fully German, German could change that.

4: Javi Martinez.
Easily my preferred option but I feel it's just too much of an ask.
Even if he were to leave, Bayern would want the majority of the £35m they paid, if not a profit made on him!

Yeah, I over thought that. but I have a Monday off and nothing to do till later.

10 minutes well spent I'd say!

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 13:18:07
Thanks Jenjen, spyder it is.

Thanks D, I agree with you but just not sure if Wenger will splash the cash. But, as a cheaper option, spyder is the man.

( did you like what I did there? Spyder the man? Oh forget it).
lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Pogba - I would pay whatever it takes. He is an awesome young player.
Balotelli - yes please
Micah Richards - Experienced English RB, who can play CB as well.
Joel Cambell - Definitely worth a chance next season.
Hangeland - Ideal cover for Mertesacker and on a free.
Ruddy - Tall, experienced English keeper

These 6 would definitely improve our squad and enable us to compete on all fronts.

I would consider releasing/selling: Either Arteta or Flamini (possibly both) & Miyaichi

Presume following are gone or going: Fabianski, Vivianno, Sagna, Bendtner, Djourou, Kallstrom, Park & Coquelin.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 14:58:12
Robbie,

Balotelli and Pogba would I think be pretty much every bodies dream window.

Think Aurier will be a better bet than Richards, he couldn't get a game in either position at City despite them needing a partner for Kompany, I can't see Arsene bringing in either of the other two if I'm honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 15:14:10
I must admit I do say this alot. But why on earth would anyone want Richards. He'd be fighting diaby about who gets the better treatment table! And as for dm I would have to say I do like a bit of laars bender

Agree0 Disagree0

Who doesn't want pogba? As with Jenny if we only signed two players this summer I'd be over the moon happy and double padlocked ecstatic if they were Pogba and Balotelli.
I'd be that pleased I'd accept Remy as a bit of ying to our fantastic yang, sorry Dags I've got to stop this I know :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 19:34:29
G62,

You are just throwing logs on the Remy bonfire mate.

lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i know dags..and hes good guy.. :)

23 Jun 2014 20:21:39
Ed025,

your jokes are getting worse than mine mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 10:43:47
Oh on your best Premier league X1 question I posted ( below hopefully :-) just to clarify if a player has played for two premier league teams you decide which team he represens, ie Sol Campbell us or them but that club can only be used once

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2014 13:20:34
Hi g62,

I did put a team up in reply to your original post but had a feeling the eds may remove the whole thing as they're not keen on lists of teams on this page.

Looks like they've had to do that. :-(

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 13:32:38
My sentiments exactly Jenjen.

Great post though G62.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Jenny and Dirk, I guess the Ed, s have listphobia like my wife, no matter how many times I write 24 bottle case of beer she reads it as size four shoes bless her

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 20:22:56
Lol, I like that one G62.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 06:58:31
D16. The Aurier deal was done Friday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2014 07:56:26
Interesting. Hope you are correct he looks like he has lots of potential

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 11:04:25
I second that.
my mate Remy also approves.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2014 23:57:20
Pod, Joel, Theo and Gnarby plus Remy should sort the width out

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2014 11:06:55
Agree mate.

Rub a bit of 'Griezman' on it and it looks fine and dapper to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 12:31:01
Or Alexis, I'd settle for him too.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2014 23:53:17
Remy & Balotelli to add pace and goal threat

Schneiderlin to add steal in midfield

Aurier & Williams to sort defence plus
Goalie for under 8m

Although - it would be good for some creativity to help out Ozil as he can't play every game - Ox, Rosicky, Jack etc don't really tick that box for me. May be Santi could step up here.

I would be very happy especially if we keep TV5 and give Arteta a 2 year contract

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2014 08:24:56
I don't think I would keep arteta tbh. Don't think he is good enough for us personally

Agree0 Disagree0

I mean keep Arteta as a very useful squad player as believe with fresh legs he is very useful and has a lot of experience that tne team can benefit from. Its a long season and we need experienced leaders in there

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2014 15:16:00
He has just never seemed like a leader to me. I dunno it's a difficult one but maybe keep for the squad yea
