Guys - in wenger's defence we among several teams looking for strikers, it's really tough at the moment.

Perhaps we should have offered a higher wage for vardy, but should he be earning as much as Sanchez?

I am going to stay supportive through the window. Let's hope Wenger can make a class ST signing!

Back from a fishing evening, I'm the only man who goes fishing without a rod and still catches, all I took was a baseball bat and a few oranges, all you do is chuck the orange in the water wait for the fish to put his head out of the water to spit the pips out and then crack him with the baseball bat.

Hehehe, good one Raver.

I know a lot of you here are pumped for not failing to sign vardy and hey ho look on yhe bright side, we have sanogo to come back from loan lol.
On a serious note, there are still some decent striker out there which we could sign and I strongly believe we will.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - They are Arsenal fans - what we know is that most are pumped pretty much continuously.}

23 Jun 2016 23:56:35
Yea I see your point ed. 😜.

24 Jun 2016 00:08:22
Not a fan of us Arsenal fans Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed033's Note - Who wouldn't be a great fan of dagenham gunner and all the regular posters on this Arsenal site?

24 Jun 2016 01:12:09
Absolutely Ed033.

Couldn't agree more :-)

23 Jun 2016 21:53:59
Surely Wenger has to sign a top notch striker. He likes opportunities so may be Vardy at 20m was an opportunistic purchase but I have to assume he knows we need more goals. With that said and the poor Vardy-show, do you think we will sign a player like Aubameyang? I got to think that we sign average short term cover and stick with Giroud or we go all out and sign a significant upgrade and demote Giroud.
Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2016 22:59:30
The sort of striker we sign, if we sign, will speak volumes, when he is. Its a position we can't scrimp on, if we do and don't push the boat out, we will sink. Simples.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2016 18:42:16
Totally agree ste

It's the one position that needs to be filled by a superstar.

Time to put your money where your mouths are Arsenal fc.

Hi Eds,
With Vardy signing a new contract, are Arsenal trying to sign any other forwards? Is Morata still an option? And would we go for Lacazette?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

24 Jun 2016 01:36:35
Why lacazette, he's not in the france squad, so not even 4th choice france seeing that benzema is no1 normally. Our boy who we don't think is good enough is ahead of him. How desperate are we getting.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 20:59:16
I think Arsenal should make it official that we need a striker and that there's vacancy so there'll be some applications popping up from to STs.
lol.

I for one am glad we didn't sign Vardy. He has terrible hair.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

23 Jun 2016 19:31:41
I prefer his hair than when will I be famous Aaron Ramsey, he looks like one of the bros brothers.

23 Jun 2016 19:56:10
He's definitely no Arteta :-)

23 Jun 2016 19:21:36
But he makes very astute decisions when it comes to football. 😉.

Bring on the new season. Served with a cold dish of Vardy custard to the Woolwich. 👍

Sorry Ed002,
Re my earlier post.

For some reason I was thinking Krychowiak was a forward, turn's out he's more of a DM.

Kind of makes my earlier post redundant.

Sorry Ed.

Silly billy dags 😀
Have to say fair play to Mr vardy.

23 Jun 2016 19:07:39
Absolutely Sanogo,
I respect Vardy, had a great season, but I'm not too disappointed.

Would be more disappointed when (if) Manchester United sign Mkhitaryan.

Im afraid wenger and the club are not a big draw anymore, people should not be turning down bgger clubs and more money, there's a problem if they are doing.

Agree1 Disagree2

23 Jun 2016 21:19:44
The thing is Steve, technically we should still be a big draw.

If you were a player who would you choose to play alongside?

Chelsea? Maybe Hazard.

Man Utd? Nobody.

Man City? Aguero, Hart and Kompany.

Liverpool? No player's, but Klopp is a big draw.

Spurs? Kane.

Arsenal? What player wouldn't want to play alongside Cech, Sanchez and Ozil?

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 21:43:15
Vardy should have wet his pants to play next to ozil and sanchez, so why didn't he and why aren't others.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 22:17:41
Now dags you said city, Hart
Man united nobody,
Would you say Hart is a better keeper than ddg.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 22:20:49
Don't forget Steve, xhaka is a very good player mate.

He will be brilliant at Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 22:47:30
He could choose to stay at Leicester where he will now always be considered a legend for them, guaranteed starter, will be forgiven any dips in form, part of a team he knows etc. Plus, unlike many players, his top level career is very recent and won't last long, so likely considered his final pay day and wanted as much as possible, and has got a contract for the likely duration of his pro career. Why jeopardise all that to HOPE to be a starter for us, hope the fans support him, hope he doesn't get a huge backlash from Leicester fans and his friends/ family etc. Go from big fish to impressive, but relatively little fish in a big pond with no guarantees. Seems risk averse, but sensible.

If he was younger, it may be different.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 23:02:28
But not a 30 goal a season like fans have banged on about Dags.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2016 00:10:15
Sorry Leahy, should have added DDG :-) .

Bambam, are there any available?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2016 01:39:36
Dags can he play striker, if not, waste of money, if he can bargain.

Afternoon Ed002,

If I can just chuck one question at you please?

About a week ago, on European rumour page, you stated that we may make an approach for Sevilla's Grzegorz Krychowiak, should we fail on our first option.

Assuming our first option was Vardy, who seem's destined to remain at Leicester, do you know if Wenger has retained an interest in Krychowiak?

Thanks Ed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Krychowiak is a defensive midfield player now in talks with another club. Nothing to do with Vardy.}

23 Jun 2016 20:52:47
Apparently arsenal are interested if we fail with another player who plays in a similar position. He's second choice basically.

That's regurgitated from the European pages.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 18:19:18
Yep, sorry Ed.

Realised just after I posted.

Thanks for clarification anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 21:40:28
I'm assuming William Carvalho is still the first choice DM from what Ed has said over the last few transfer windows. But please do correct me if I'm wrong, I have no knowledge other than what I try to pick up from here.

23 Jun 2016 17:18:05
Cross vardy and morata off the list (thank god) and get a real, out and out forward.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

23 Jun 2016 18:19:52
Morata would have been a nice fit.

Agree1 Disagree3

23 Jun 2016 19:03:25
No chance, doesn't score enough goals.

Agree1 Disagree2

23 Jun 2016 21:47:11
Agree crybaby, he's a younger giroud.

People saying we have no pulling power yet we've signed 3worldys, absolute top notch players the past 3 seasons, let's go and add a forth for our striker. You need to go out n get the players they aren't going to come to you.

There are brilliant strikers out there that if you willing to pay then are gettable. Everyone has there price :)

Vardy staying put then . where does AW go from here?

Nowhere I fear, I think we keeps what he's got.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2016 13:29:56
I think he will try to sign some strikers Banbury, but there will be no one available at the right price that could "improve" on what we currently have.

Never going to happen but I would love Lewandowski, I can always dream.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 14:59:03
I've got the same feeling. With few strikers available I think sadio berahino might be a good option or at least if nobody's signed give akpom a chance in the 1st team.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 14:38:22
There are other options. Signing Vardy in his 30th year was a gamble. I would like to us make a bid for Lakaku, Lewandowski or Hernandez.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 19:13:39
There other options but Wenger won't be splashing out another £30,000,000 . He has made another half hearted attempt just like he did with Suarez.

His thinking will be Giroud or Sanchez or Walcott under DW is fit.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 20:53:23
People on here didn't want vardy and to a certain extent i understand why but now we will struggle to find a top class replacement who is 100% certain to bang in the goals for usfor the money wenger wants to shell out.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 06:44:04
It's interesting to see Ramsey playing so well for Wales and it comes as no surprise that Mourinho is after him. You have to ask why he doesn't play as well for us?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2016 11:49:17
Because he plays cm - cam for wales and Cdm - rw for us. Its not rocket science.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 17:01:19
He wants Ozil position.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 21:48:46
He plays ramsey right he plays him in front of back four and he never looks comfortable with it. i'm sure next year he will be shoehorning him and a few others in to get them in the team regardless of wether that suits them or not.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 04:39:12
Anyone know what's going to happen with Zelalem this year? Back out on loan or joining the first team squad?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2016 13:07:38
I imagine he's going to be loaned out.
Whilst he's certainly making progress, putting him I the team when we have Xhaka, Santi, Ramsey, Wilshere, Elneny and Coquelin all vying for 2 (3 if we're going to keep seeing Wilshere/ Ramsey Right wing) places would stunt his development.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 11:45:59
I saw him play for Rangers and he is an exceptional talent, but still looks lightweight. He needs to be built up physically, before he is ready to play for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2016 21:49:48
Loaned out again, he won't get in the team yet.
