Dear Ed2, please come back, by leaving this page you're lowering yourself to the haters' level. So please show that you're better than them and I hope that you know that the majority of this page thank you for you excellent inside knowledge.

Yours in Arsenal,

He'll be back, he can't resist, although Chelsea is his first love he has a soft spot for us.

Currently he is couped up in a room having hot toddy's with CC, MG, & Metal, they are plotting a spectacular return, a bit like when Bobby Ewin came back to life in Dallas, it will all seem like a bad dream.

Agree1 Disagree3

I can confirm that Bobby coming back to life is like winning a trophy

Dunno what all the fuss is about with ed002. he was an active 'ed' for this page, but nothing spectacular was revealed by him that I can think of. He isn't needed for us to have discussions about the matches arsenal play, etc.

daniel I would rather read a reply from ed002 than some of the rubbish you right.
now run along and play on twitter.

regular posters should be getting behind the eds who volunteer for this website with no pay.

can't say I've seen much of this ambriota chap (or whatever his name is) however from what I have seen and heard to say I'm underwhelmed is an understatement. soon to be 28 years old puts him in the same age bracket at Big Per, he's also 6'4 and his current club have the third worst defence in la liga (a stat similar again to mert's whose Bremen side conceded something stupid like 70 goals in his last season)
getting a bit Fed up of being linked to cheap average defenders. Is this guy better than our current 3 cb's? If he is then not by much. In order to improve, players who leave need to be replaced by better players. Otherwise we might as well keep what we've got, for continuitys sake if nothing else.

I don't know if Walcotts injury is genuine if he doesn't want to risk injury on international duty, but either way he needs to be dropped because his attitude and game have been quite poor over the last 5 games. Oxlade-Chamberlain played well last night. He also played well vs Swansea and was unlucky not to have grabbed afew goals.

Will Podolski, Wilshere and Sagna be back after international break? I would welcome back the first 2. Although Cazorla and Monreal have been good in the left we miss the link up and good distribution when Podolski and Gibbs play together. Cazorla is much better at the head of a Santi-Wilshere-Arteta midfield. I'd also be gutted if Jenkinson gets dropped for Sagna.

Gk and CB pairing, i'd stick with Fabianski but switch Vermaelen for Mertersacker. Verm needs to regain confidence and form, against Reading he should get his chance. Koscielny also been very impressive over past 2 appearences.

Another thing, all these players people are suggesting or linking with Arsenal. Has anyone watched them enough times to know how good they are? Capoue, Amoerbieta, Jovetic etcI doubt most of you have seen them play 5 or more times. So please stop throwing these names about because you heard them in the media. If we will sign 4/5 players most will be unexpected or only linked afew weeks before the transfer. Like Cazorla was when he signed.

I think we will sign a Gk, RB, CB, CDM and possibly a forward. These will come for cheapish prices with maybe one £15m+ signing. I like Amoerbieta, he's a strong, commanding no-nonsense centre half. Much like Koscielny but slower and bigger. CDM and ST I honestly have no idea who we might get.

With high wage deadwood being forced out like Squillaci, Arshavin, Chamahk and Bendtner. There should be room for these new players and our more wanted loanees like Myiachi and Campbell.

I get where you are coming from with bringing in TV5 to regain confidence/form, but for me if its not broke why fix it, Kos and Merts look pretty solid at moment, Jenks and Monreal are playing extremely well, and Fabianski is having a decent run, clean sheets as well.

Summer Ins:
* Corchia from Socheaux.
* Doumbia from CSKA Moscow.
* Ambioreta from Bilbao.
* Capoue from Toulouse OR Gilbert Imbula from Guingamp.
* Sanchez from Real Madrid.

Summer Outs:
Vermaelen - sadly
Sagna
Frimpong
Miguel on loan
All the out-of-contract and deadwood.
Podolski: not because we want to but because he goes to Italy.

The in's are not so much a wish list, more an expectation. The outs, are a hope, with the exception of TV5 who has deserved to be dropped but is genuinely a fine player and will hopefully rise to the challenge and recover his form, given the chance, but I think he will be lured now clubs feel there is a sniff of a hope of securing him.

I'm sorry but nothing annoys me more than posts like this.

1 - Sanchez plays for Barcelona. Please do you research.

2 - Have you ever seen Doumbia play? Or are you a football manager hero? His finishing is as bad as Gervinhos.

Corchia, Sanchez, Capoue would be good signings. The other two would be the sort of signings you'd expect Liverpool to make.

Agree11 Disagree1

Sanchez plays for Barca? So does that' mean he won't leave or can't? I would love a plausible bid lodged for him he is a true winger something we are desperate for.

Agree2 Disagree2

Liverpool are the only team in England interested Sanchez!

Actually I think our scouts would learn something playing fotball manager! ;)

Just a ponder. Does anybody else join me in thinking appointing Brian McDermott as a new No2 would be a good move - assuming of course he would accept a No2 role having been No1 at reading, which is a big "if". But IF he would, I think he has the character and temprament to stand up to Arsene, plus has demonstrable success and a real feel and respect for Arsenal.

I recognise it may be unlikely but it's just a thought?

Believable7 Unbelievable10

I would prefer I former player from the invincibles generation. Ideally one of Bergkamp, Vieira or Lehman

Agree7 Disagree0

Oh no. Nice guy and did a fine job at Reading, but lacks the sophistication to be considered for such a position.

Agree2 Disagree0

Still think we should have gone for Wilkins when he become available a couple years ago. he's got the best record around in that role.

Bergkamps apprentice

Agree4 Disagree1

Our new number 2 may aswell be just that, a number 2, considering the post is totally redundant in wengers dictatorship.
AG

Agree2 Disagree2

Wilkins would have been perfect, however 'rumours' of football unrelated problems would explain why he was dismissed and has not worked since.

spuds next 3 league games are swansea away everton at home then away to chelsea with europa league games in between. we have reading at home, everton at home and away to west brom. I think they will possibly get 4 points from them games and we should get at least 7 maybe even the 9 points. I believe they will slip up even more and end up 5th. if that means they possibly win europa league then so be it they can play in that next season with no one to BALE them out
so let's get behind the team secure champions league football and hopefully get rid of the dead wood and bring in some quality signings and seriously challenge for major honours

Reading at home WBA away Norwich at home then Everton at home.

Agree6 Disagree0

Ok I thought we had everton before that but our home games we should win and think we might draw at west brom so 10 point wouldn't be bad from them 4 games

gooner mark

Agree1 Disagree0

The points are not in the bag we have no divine right to win these games. We'll have to play well to win.

Spurs and Chelsea are still in the driving seat because they have the points in the bag.

Everytime we started to show some form this year the international break has come along and we've then started to struggle.

Agree6 Disagree0

I did not say the points are already in the bag I said we should get them points

Greetings and salutations my fellow Gooners,

I got to thinking the other day how football might benefit if players did not have guaranteed contracts.

The NFL for example provides their teams with an opportunity to release players and I for one applaud them.

Football players have no sense of the common reality we all face. Having to produce each and every day to ensure basic necessities, mortgage payments, and other day to day expenditures.

I understand the market and the demand unique talent has, but I feel as if there is little accountability for some players who lack the professionalism required to be appreciated by the common person.

I bring this matter up because there are two players involved in our club who I feel are not earning their keep. The first being our self proclaimed Super Dane Mr Nicholas Bendtner and the other being our recently signed poster child Theo Walcott.

With the former I initially felt there was an opportunity for him to be a very good striker, but arrogance and a lack of discipline has seen his career trajectory go off a cliff.

However, only months ago it finally looked at times that Mr. Walcott and his image rights were moving in the right direction, however I have to say that recently he has played very poorly. To such an extent that I believe Chamberlain should be given the opportunity to start in his place.

Now wouldn't it be wonderful if we could terminate such contracts and perhaps then players would respect the sacrifices we the public make each week to support our favorite club and not behave in such an entitled manner!

Gunners4Life, In AW we trust!

Believable4 Unbelievable1

In theory it works but in practice would it? If we threatened theo with a termination he could just move for free and loads of clubs would snap players up for free clubs who wouldn't pay for them same with bendtner, good Idea yes but would it work?

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem with that is it works both ways & players would have even less loyalty

What the hell was Ramsey thinking of? He was outstanding tonight against Scotland (who were basically Stoke in blue shirts but even rougher) where he scored a pen, but in the 93rd min, he needlessly lost possession and got a red for fouling the last man. He misses the game against Croatia just for one stupid lapse of concentration.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

I don't care as an English Arsenal fan!!

As a football fan who gives not but a F**K about international football. or Ramsey for that matter, I could not care less.
