How happy are we today boys?
Not a great performance but a good one against a team who will do well this season.
Top of the league, clear by 4 points and players coming back from injury and some very winable matches coming up from now until the end of the year.
Happy days boys.

Need to win next two games, before we play everton, city and chelsea to make up our next 5 games. 4 point gap. if we can take even a one point gap going into the new year, it will be something special for the players.

Absolutely buzzing off the back of today's result coupled with Liverpool and Everton dropping points. Looking forward to Cardiff holding Manchester United to a draw and Man City spanking the people as I have Aguero, Yaya and Zabaleta in my dream team!

How many games this season have our opponents had more possession but we take all the points, we are so much better this season and are real contenders again.

Agree G62, I think our defence has really tightened up this season and Per and Kos have developed a very good understanding, ably backed up by Gibbs and Bacary and full credit also goes to Stevie Bould

Having watched the game today I just want to say a few things about everyone involved.

Szczesny - Looks more assured with each game. Maybe he's maturing into the potentially world class goalkeeper we all hope he will be.

Sagna - Back on form. Defensively very solid and constantly raiding down the right. Delivery has improved recently. Must sign a new two year contract.

Gibbs - Pretty quiet today but did the simple things well.

Kos & Mert - Formidable partnership that gets better and better. Nice assist from Per for the penalty.

Arteta - Gave the ball away more than usual but marshalled the troops from the middle. Still feel Flamini/Ramsey is our strongest midfield pairing but obviously Flam was suspended today.

Ramsey - Still high on confidence as his ridiculous flick onto the post showed! Quality player who played well today.

Wilshere - Looked as though he enjoyed getting stuck in today. Although he played "out of position" on the right of the midfield, he tucked in, won the ball back with excellent tackles and played well. Also unlucky with a cross come shot chip that hit the post.

Cazorla - Silky touches and passes but still looked a bit off his best. Played ok but has more in his locker.

Ozil - Another average performance today from Mesut who looks tired as he gets used to the full on nature of the premier league. Still has bags of quality and always has a chance of getting an assist.

Giroud - Quite simply awesome today. An absolute beast! Hassled Boruc into the mistake for his first goal and scored the penalty to wrap up the game. He was brilliant at winning the ball back and also clearing free kicks and corners with excellent defensive work. Man of the match!

I agree completely man but did anyone else notice jack playing the simple passes today? I thought he was very impressive, his runs are great to watch some of the time but today shows he is maturing as a player.

Thanks gents, just called it how I saw it today.

Trev, I was really impressed with Jack today. Looks like he's got a bit of mojo back!

I am full of confidence for Tuesday and see another 2-0 win over Marseille to pretty much wrap up qualification.

And we still have Flamini to come back, wacott to start, Podolski and Ox to come bak

Without any shadow of a doubt, the worst piece of transfer business this season by a mile, is Chelsea letting lukaku go out on loan

I hope Lukaku doesn't stay with Chelsea. I'd hate to see him waste his career. Hope he stay with Everton or comes to Arsenal, though both scenarios seem very unlikely

Have to agree the guy is fantastic

I'd have loved us to grab him but they were only willing to lend us Ba who is dog do do.

a good win vs a very good Southampton team will be a great way to bounce back from the defeat at OT.
soo good to have Walcott back, atleast now with both gnabry and Walcott we have more of a pace threat.
with ozil, ramsey, giroud, wilshere(kind of), koscielny all rested, a good energetic performance is to be expected.
3-1 to the gooners, giroud ozil and Walcott to score.
