just read some negative comments on last night, my take is this we saw the best team in the group last night but that wasn't dortmund but for two mistakes we made them look ordinary.
we will win in dortmund and beat napoli and win the group.the win on saturday is essential, can't wait to see cazorla and ozil with the usual strength restored by flamini.

p.s why are all pundits on itv so negative even dixon and wright clearly they have issues, and I can't tolerate andy townsend rubbish footballer even worse pundit, why not appreciate a team trying to play proper football.

Have to stick my two pennyworth in about last night.

Thought both full backs played their worst game of the season they kept us on the back foot all night. Their delivery when they got up front was s***te and they dithered a lot instead of getting the ball forward. Even at the end when B52 was on. they carried on passing the ball back to each other and keeper.
We scored with the only ball that went into the danger zone. surely it's not that hard to put it in there. Gibbs must be the hardest kicker in the game - when he's trying to cross!
Giroud gets better and better and I believe he will become an Arsenal legend. We didn't get MO into the game enough- too many back passes not enough movement forward and too slow a tempo. Shame because I believe BD were actually there for the taking in the last 30 mins. Well done Per, Kosc, Rosicky, Arteta, Santi and particularly Giroud who I believe outshone Lewandowski (would still like him at AFC though)

Ian Holloway has parted company with Crystal Palace, not sure if that's a good or bad thing, I guess we wil just have to hammer them whoever is in charge (smiles)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Shame really because I like him, I think he's good for the game.
Its an important game for us ( they all are this season:-) although there is no praise or plaudits coming our way from it, if we beat them and do it in style others will say it's only Palace if we don't and struggle in any way shape or form our bubble will have burst.
But all that matters is 3 points, stay top and get the first teamer's rested for next weekend and a liitlte trip to Germany a few days later.
I'm not sure what the temperatures are in Germany at the moment but hope they drop quite a bit as I have heard revenge is a dish best served cold :-)

Lol well said G62 and I echo your sentiments about Ian Holloway. Very good manager who speaks from the heart

First goal was mistake on our part, but their execution after was perfect

Second was on a counter, where we didn't track back after taking it to them for a 10-15 min stretch

The literally scored on their one good counter

We controlled the match for long periods of time, and should have taken our chances

Lets not forget Dortmund are one of the best in Europe and their back four has played together a long time

Our team is for real

Anyone know anything about the young lad who just signed for us? Matt Macey I think his name is.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haven't seen much but on one site it gives him as being 6ft6in. at 18. He'll be a big lad when he grows up!

Thanks for the positivity Gunner62. Been on a bit of a downer after last nights result . I don't think we deserved to lose . But reading your post reminds me why I love the club. Roll on the weekend!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cheers Loony mate, we certainly didn't deserve to loose, a draw would have properly been fair as they did a good job away to a top top side (us).
I think we will get a positive result over there and who knows maybe it will be our turn to get the run of the green like they did last night with a man who should have been sent off scoring their winner, these things do even them self's out over a season.
We are so much better than we were 12months ago and this time next year we'll be? Luvly jubly

Waq {Ed002's Note - Looking at the post I don't know the reason an Ed removed it. I suspect it was because of responses to it being unacceptable.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks ed002, none of my posts been posted for last couple of months. Not sure why either. But thanks for replying and posting this one {Ed002's Note - I can see a few posts from you but not many. Anyway, they seem OK now.}

Hey everyone,

I know everyone is expecting to get the whole,

"You see? As soon as you play a quality team, you lose."

sh*t talk, but what people may forget is that we gave Napoli their worst loss of the the season so far, and Napoli beat Dortmund.

I don't think we deserved to lose, but that's football. You could argue that Lewandowski should not have been on the pitch, but honestly, I'm happy that we went for the win.

The team looks great considering our injury list, and we lost a nail-biter to last years' finalists. We will learn from this and become a better team.

The next month will tell us a lot about our team's guts, desire, and passion. Upward and onward.

Cheers,
Trinidad-Gooner

I'm with you Trinidad mate, I don't care what others say about 1st big team rubbish,
all other fans should be saying is
'its a good job we didn't play them, because if they can beat Arsenal what ever would they have done to us!

A draw would have been fair result last night but think this is the reality check we needed, we have playing some fantastic football of late but are a way off being contenders in any comp yet. I think our main reason is arteta a very good player but slows our game down so much and doesn't do the dirty stuff we need against Norwich at times our midfield went missing same last night really missed flamini a better team would have equalised on Saturday some fantastic goals scored but the score flattered us in end. And because of arteta Ramsey couldn't play the way he has been last night yes his mistake lead to first goal but feel shezzer could have done better than just sticking a leg out! Feel that arteta gets in team as he is captain (tv not playing) got big games coming up and with strongest team out we are in with a chance and I'm loving 90% of our play just got get the 10% there aswell but I'm not booking my open top bus space just yet! Good post this mate, you make some fair points.
We are not the finished article yet we all know that which is really exciting, because we are top of our league and Champions league group and we are not 100% yet.
It's good to be a Gooner and going to get better and better :-)

It was very disappointing losing last night, but I was more concerned with the number of times Sagna gave the ball away. Each time we attacked up the right in the first half, when he got the ball it went straight to them and their last goal was so easy as Lewandowski was totally unmarked. I believe we now have a great team but we still need 2 top strikers (to compliment Giroud who is now showing his true potential), a top cb and winger and above all aright back. We do have a great team but there is no depth in the squad and these additions will ensure much success.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

To be fair Sagna did manage to turn it round a bit. Wilshere was disappointing though, not quite sure what Wenger was thinking putting him on the wing. Cazorla should have started

I agree about sanga, he is too old now to be depending on him as our first choice RB but I'm not sure if jenkinson is ready for it quite yet so would like to see him get a good run of games and see if he has the quality I think he has.

I thought we were a little naive last night, but deserved a draw. I think our lack of options, due to injury, on the bench, were clear when Dortmund made a game changing double substitution & we only changed Wilshere due to injury & a couple of very late substitutions. Ramsey looked outclassed at this level & Rosicky played well, but tired late on.
Our injury problems continue to astound me and in particular Wenger's refusal to change personnel & methods at the club. Abu Diaby has once again broken down, Walcott's comeback has been delayed and there is no sign of Podolski or Oxlade returning. We must make more use of squad players to avoid fatigue & injury to players that are tiring as a result of too many games. We must find a way to play Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Monreal, Frimpong, Gnabry & Monreal. Failing which we will have our usual Nov/Dec collapse. We must look to sign a 4th CB, a midfield enforcer to cover Flamini & a striker.

For any one who is on a downer still because of last night here is some good news.

We are still top of the league :-) Ozil is still here :-) Ramsey is still the player he as first dozen games :-) Santi is back and looking on top form :-) Giroud is still looking excellent :-) Flamini is available again :-) Artetta looking good :-) injured players getting closer and closer to returning :-) we are as far from in the UAFA league as we were in September :-) we still top our Champions league group:-) and many more reasons to be :-) :-) :-)

Lets keep it real people things that were very very good yesterday morning still are today :-)

Its along season for every team and even for us there has to be the odd set back

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I believe we can still go to Dortmund and come away with a win, although last night was a dissapointment there was a lot to learn. Their keeper didn't look comfortable all night we need to explot this when we go there. For me we should start with Jenkinson down the right I feel he is more porpuseful with his runs and can cross a better ball than Sagna. Giroud worked hard first half and scored a super goal but that was the only decent delivery he had all half. When Santi came on our pace increased so I would look do the same at Dortmund, premiership pace will outclass any foreign opposition, come on you Gunners!

Hello Ed and fellow Gooners, I thought we were unlucky last night, over the ninety minutes I thought we were the better team.Did not go to the game, and I turned the tv off afterwards because I thought Lee Dixon and Adrian whatisname were talking crap, so I have not heard AW comments. The result though obviously not good is not a disaster and iam confident we can get a result out there. The next few weeks are tough and we have to prove that we are the real deal, this starts with bouncing back after last night with a good solid win against Palace on Sat.
Thanks for the site Ed

Who is this Patrick Herrmann fellow? Is he any good and a possible transfer target for us? Cheers! {Ed002's Note - Patrick Herrmann has been subject to interest from Juventus, Hamburg and Arsenal. I don't see a January move as likely.}

Sorry but Arsene is right with his comments, Arsenal were so naive especially our full backs.

Sagna is to interested in going forward and was caught 60 yards out of position, time to replace him for me.

Gibbs is great but needs a ruthless edge. Yes he was offered not support but he made a criminal mistake in not making a decision. He should have flew into aubamayang, either winning the ball or fouling him, thus killing the game.

In reflection it was a good game any we were the only team to open up the opposition. But in the champions league quality will punish you and that's what we got

Would ove to ask the ref why Lew wasn't send off for the elbow though?

I thought Gibbs had a very good game and although he like most wasn't perfect lessons were learner against a team who would be strong PL favorites if they were an English club I'm sure

We have Chelsea, united, Liverpool in the next 2-3 weeks
