Heard during the match tonight, the commentators on Danish television say that they had read a German journalist who usually have good info, write on twitter that Arsenal and Schalke had agreed on a price of Drexler.

Watching Arsenal vs Coventry and bein sports announced that there are Some pretty loud noises coming out of Germany that the Draxler deal is done? Jan arge fjordtoft, (a regular pundit out hear in the UAE), has been quoted saying he has been told the deal is done

According to Arsenal have agreed to meet the 37mil release clause for Draxler. I know they are extremely unreliable, this is where it has come from; (Tuttomercato), which explains he is flying to London to agree a deal. I know its probably rubbish but I can live in hope.

Amazed that Wenger has taken Bendtner off when he was on a hatrick.
Me too, he was on fire today. I don't think we need another striker, offer him a 5 year contract, pay him whatever he asks and unleash him on our opponents.
I'm sure they'll be terrified by his presence.

I know, his work rate, pace and winning mentality is too much to fathom at times for defences. If only we could keep hold of him for longer, ah but what's the point hoping, especially with the turning heads from Barcelona and Paris. We should just take the hit on this one, he's gone.

Draxler watch returns!
Jan Aage Fjortoft, the journo and former footballer who has been the most vocal and informative about the whole thing over the window, has said, and I quote;
"Re: Draxler, I understand Arsenal and Schalke have agreed a fee, if he will leave now, I don't know, this Is the latest info"
Not adding any thoughts or anything to save aggro.
This is what the guy has said, he is, as far as I know, fairly reliable on things from Germany, due to working there as a journo.

Steve McManaman has just said after the game that good sources say a fee has been agreed, then Wenger has said, no nothing at all happening with Draxler.
Read earlier he is out till mid April. Bookies are making a mint.
It's Higuian the return, pt 2, to be concluded right after the break stuff. Lol.
Besides it would be unfair on Chelsea as we haven't played them twice yet!
Not April- Draxler will be back in training within a few weeks.

A) wenger has ALWAYS said he won't be doing ANY deals till the last few days of the window, unless someone forces his hand
b) its well known that wenger wants to play drax upfront so his comment of 'no wingers' is just a 'ey ey see what I did there' kinda red herring
c) wenger is asked, are you close to signing draxler, what if wenger isn't lying? what if we either aren't close at all because of schalke, or because a deal is already in place?
d) what if there is a gentlemens agreement between schalke and arsenal not to go public, until schake do deal 'x'? and wenger doesn't expect it?
e)what if draxler is crap in the prem like lamela, or jovetic(tbf he's been injured) or robinho, or nicklas, or joey barton? :P

I know it's only Coventry but I hope the Pod scoring a couple by half time tonight has put this ridiculous Podolski out rumour to bed. The guy is a quality finisher, experienced, great for morale as he's a bit of a joker in the dressing room.

I was really disappointed with Jenkinson, his positioning is awful, plus he looks frustrated.
If we had cover then i'd send him on loan for the rest of the season. He needs to play to improve the areas of his game. He's at the age where he needs to play week in week out to progress.
Totally agree, Jenks is not the standard required yet. A spell out on loan can only improve his play BUT we must have a top replacement for him now.

Osvaldo off Southampton?
Yes, he's a psychopath and he's struggled to settle, but he has a real high quality side and once he settles he'll be scoring easily.
He's a different option to Giroud and to be fair, with Özil, Ransey, Santi and Wilshere supplying him, I feel he'd score more than his current poor record.
Yes, it's a gamble, but Southampton have listed him and want him sold or loaned, so long as he's gone.
Loan him till end of season and if he's showing promise, sign him up.
Besides, a bit more aggression wouldn't go a miss!

Not for me. far too risky. He reminds me of Gervinho. His overall play is good and gets in some great positions, then realises his legs doesn't actually belong to him! lol
If you've the best midfield in the world, it counts for nothing if you have a forward who's useless in front of goal. Having world class midfielders may get you through the occassional game, but over the course of a season, you need somebody you can rely on on to put the ball in the net.
Rickie Lambert or Adam La Lana though, i'd sooner have one of those on Arsenal's books.

he had no need to continue this spat with wenger over mata but chose to say that arsenal always have the easiest fixture list because we always have an extra day of rest before games haha.
now I know he was at real but surely the last few seasons where chelsea and utd never had to qualify for the champions league and we had extra games to play kinda disproves that comment immediately?

With all bar Abu Diaby & Walcott back next week, I doubt we will sign anyone, particularly after Wenger's recent statement. We have cover for all positions.
In the summer it looks likely that we will lose the following players: Fabianski, Viviano, Sagna, Vermaelen, Bendtner, Park, Frimpong & Diaby (retirement?). We will sign replacements in the summer window.

Found a website that updates German Bundesliga teams injuries and they have, updated today, Draxler is out until mid April with an ankle tendon injury.
Thats excellent news Code, will stop all the nonsense talk about poldolski leaving.

I fail to comprehend Arsene Wenger's comments in respect of Mata. The deal is within the rules & if you criticise this deal, where do you stop? Is the loan system fair? Is it fair that some clubs have wealthy owners willing to throw money at clubs? I suggest he concentrates on finding the striker we desperately need & a 4th centre back.

Robbie, we don't need a striker my friend. We have Bendter (who have thought Wenger would have seriously used that at the start of the season). Also, Sanago is going to rise up from the treatment table like the Phoenix from the flames and bang the goals in for fun. He will literally be a new signing. Mainly because he's barely played since signing.
As for the fourth centre back. Sagna is the ultimate option without getting the cheque book out.
Wengers January completed with Rosicky, Vermaelen and Mertesacker signing new contracts!
Greeny! Sh! don't say it too loud, Barcelona and PSG will twig on that Bendtner hasn't been playing much. I'm concerned they will offer more than the £60'000 per week he is currently on and no doubt at least a lucrative 5 year deal. If he loses more game time, I'm sure he will try to engineer a move away, and it spell yet more heart ache for the club.

I know everyones nostalgic about the players we have brought through and we have brought through a lot of good solid pros. but has anyone noticed how shocking our "b" or youth team has been this season compared to past seasons. think we are close to losing more than we've won!
Crowley and zebulem and obv gnarbz will come through but sadly I think the others will be added to that solid pro list at best
But at least we've got more resources now to compete. coyg!
I think that's mainly down to most of the good youth players have been sent on loan I.e. Miquel etc
Actually I thionk this is the best we've had since jack and gibbo's year
hayden, yennaris, olsson eisfeld and afobe (and jay jay okocha's nephew alex iwobi) are all still at the arsneal academy and look like good players.
then on loan some of our starlets are
bellerin, miquel, aneke, wellington silva and chuba akpom.
there 11 arsenal youth who seem to have half decent careers in front of them
