You missed a poor first half but a very good second half.

We need another striker as bench was short.

You will love this Steve: Managers are often stubborn but Arsene Wenger saw his team needed help at half-time. Moving Mohamed Elneny back was a stroke of genius. By Jenas xx.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 22:48:02
Sy, that may or may not have been the case, i doubt it personally, i don't think elneny or wenger are that capable on their own. Maybe the fact we stopped giving the ball away in dangerous areas helped and chelski bringing less talented players on could have helped. But well done wenger, it is your team.

Sy jenas is always right. Lol. He did also say he couldn't see arsenal getting back in the game and hey ho 2 mins later, boom.

Credit to your lads for winning tonight, although the goals have used up your quota of luck for this season and beyond.
P. S. Why does Iwobi play ahead of Nelson?

24 Jan 2018 22:23:37
Respect RJ,
Nobody knows mate. We think Iwobi is Wenger's love child. It's the only explanation.

"Arsenal have bid rejected".

Surely the most used phrase in world football?

Goal for Henry ~ was more frequently used šŸ˜.

I would say " arsenal are 2-0 down again in a big game" or "wenger is struggling with his zip again" is up there.

Hi ed02. Can I ask about Emre Can. As he is free to talk to clubs outside of the EPL and talks of him joining juve but as of yet not signing a pre contract is there a chance of him either staying at Liverpool or going elsewhere. In short do arsenal hold any interest or have a chance of signing him. Think he is just what we need! Thanks in advance.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No, he wonā€™t even moving to Arsenal.}

24 Jan 2018 19:59:07
Thanks ed.

Watching Savic from Lazio for first time tonight. Not having a great game thus far. Seems to mop up anything in the center of the park but has been very casual and sloppy with his distribution so far.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Don't worry - he won't be moving to Arsenal.}

24 Jan 2018 19:09:19
That doesnā€™t surprise me ed. After hearing so much hype thought I would keep a look out for him. Canā€™t tell much for for watching 60mins heā€™s just been taken off. Looks like a real presence but has been very sloppy. Iā€™m sure il get to see what the hype is if I watch enough of him. Goretzka has been the player that I have loved watching over the past two years. Very difficult watching over tv and you donā€™t get a good opinion over the tv because you donā€™t see movement off the ball. Whatā€™s your opinion of Savic ed? Iā€™ve seen you mention him a fair bit but other than where you have said interest lies I havenā€™t been able to gauge you feelings on him?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - My opinion is that MU or PSG will overpay in the summer.}

24 Jan 2018 19:18:11
I find it very hard to form an opinion with players plying their trade in Serie A. He certainly looks like a physical presence. And Man U and PSG over pay more often than not in my opinion. Thanks for the reply.

Ed, With the P-E A deal not moving at pace do you think we could go into the post transfer period short of Strikers after Theo leaving and doubts over Giroud?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is plenty of time for comings and going Paul.}

24 Jan 2018 18:11:36
Something that baffles and bothers me about the away goals rule is how they count after extra time. It should apply to the 90 minutes but then rendered irrelevant during extra time, otherwise one team has half an hour more than the other to score more valuable goals.

I seem to remember it being a decisive factor in a few Champions League ties over the years. Have I misremembered/ misinterpreted the rule or does it indeed make absolutely no sense whatsoever?

Anyway, I hope it doesn't come into play tonight and that Chelsea receive a comprehensive battering!

PSG will accept a fee of around Ā£23m for Lucas Moura. Surely that's a steal in this transfer market! I would be well happy to see Mkhi, Aubameyang and Moura join the club personally.
Ed, do you know if he's on Wengers radar?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Wenger wanted to sign him before he joined PSG so he certainly knows the player.}

24 Jan 2018 12:43:30
Isn't very injury prone and just over rated.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He struggled to settle.

24 Jan 2018 12:39:12
Sounds like a deal that could be wrapped up pretty easily too. They want him gone and financial fair play means they're happy for him to go cheap! Not confident we will get Auba and Moura though.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 12:59:47
Interesting ed. Do you find him a good player then. You'll certainly know more than me about him. I seem to remember a editor on here saying what I said about him. Would like to know more but its not easy to search for information on players these days. YouTube makes any player look good lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal were previously interested but that drifyrd away. Moura is high risk and very expensive given he is out of favour and would not be guaranteed a start at Arsenal - given he can't get near the starting 11 at PSG. I don't know how many minutes Moura has played this season but it won't be much - he is rarely in the squad and when he is he is generally an unused substitute. Interest in taking him on loan elsewhere (Nantes) has gone nowhere as the player has high expectations. His abilities are limited to being able to run along a straight line quickly. It makes about zero sense to me.}

24 Jan 2018 18:08:59
I think he had an half decent season last year but everything else is much as stated above to my knowledge.

50mil and giroud for Aubameyang is not worth it rather keep giroud.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

24 Jan 2018 10:16:16
I think its being quoted as Giroud going to BVB on loan for the rest of the season. It isn't a permanent deal.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 11:32:31
Gunner254 - Yes, that makes complete sense as Ā£50m these days for a top striker isn't a fortune even if he is approaching 29 years of age and allowing Giroud to go on loan, means we can still obtain a transfer fee next summer. let's say we manage to get Ā£25m for Giroud in the summer, then we have only spent Ā£25m to sign Aubameyang. Top younger strikers seem to be going for Ā£70m +.

24 Jan 2018 09:00:29
Assuming we sign Aubameyang and Evans, as well as extend the deals of Ozil and Wilshere it will have been a fairly successful window. Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang will make up for the loss of Sanchez and the sale of Walcott. Whilst Evans will add a tall experienced centre back that we have been crying out for. In the summer we need to extend Ramsey's deal and bring in a DM and replace Ospina. A wide attacking player would be great this window, but I can't see more than Aubameyang and Evans at best.
