Sussex mate, the only posts I thumb down, whether it's right or wrong, belong to one individual. I won't name names, and without letting the cat out the bag, I'll give you a wee clue: it starts with an R and ends with a G61.

So no mate, wasn't me who thumbed down your post; I'm not that petty 🤣.

I see we remained in the top 10 of the Deloitte Football Money League, coming in at 9th place based on our 2017 revenue. Interestingly, we were the only team in the top 10 to see revenue drop from 2016 to 2017, which has caused us to slip from 6th place in 2016. This shows how missing out on CL football starts to bite, and if we want to keep our place in the top 10, and if our owner wants to see the value of his investment increase, we need to up our ambition and get back into the CL sharpish. I know there is much debate about our owner and his spending, but for me, a good example of where we currently are is Juventus, who despite having less revenue than us (they came in 11th place) in my opinion, act like, and are, a much bigger club, having signed the likes of Ronaldo (cant be on peanuts) and now, probably Ramsey, and who have a much better first XI than us. This despite their lower revenue, meaning their overall player salary bill has to be lower than ours to comply with FFP? Perhaps we can't compete will some of the other clubs in the top 10, but for our owner to think we can maintain our place in European football by spending very little is surely at best naive, or worst suicidal?

{Ed002's Note - That is not how the FFP works for wages.}

Not being funny but are Juve the best example of how to do things?
Weren't they demoted once?
I'm not saying their current board are the same sort of people as the ones who got the club demoted but if their income is less than ours yet they can spent much more on wages and fees then, and it's only a question but are they doing everything by the book or have they possibly found a loophole or an alternative way around things?

{Ed002's Note - Of course not.}

If something appears to good to be true then? It might possibly not be quite what it seems to be from the outside.
Maybe it is, Maybe it isn't all it appears to be but when it comes to following rules not all Clubs see themselves as equals.

Juve signing Ronaldo is very short term thinking and a lot of their squad are older. If they achieve their goals in the next two years, it was a good decision but even if they do or dont, it will cost them dearly in other ways for the future. They have signed to win the CL and that's all. They were already winning the scilleto (excuse my spelling) every year and domestic cups.

Im guessing, that may have something to do with China, David Beckham or jail Ed02? Or maybe coming to Arsenal. Lol.

Ignore the whole demotion over fraud/ game fixing thing, they are in Italy, where your almost fined for not getting involved in extra circular activities! However, my point stands, in that Juventus may only be number 11 on the list, but they act like they are a top 5 team. OK so they won't win the CL this year, but they should get through to the later stages, which currently puts them far ahead of the "bigger" team that came number 9 on the list. We on the other hand, seem to be preparing for life as a top 20 team, rather than having any ambition to get back to number 6 on the list or even better, which will happen if your successful. Hopefully with Kronke's NFL team getting through to the final of the Superbowl it will ignite some sort of realization in him that its much better for the the self esteem and wallet in owning successful sports teams rather than also rans.

We will drop out of the top 10 soon with our ridiculous policy. Most of the teams in the top 10 have had serious investment.

Barca, real and bayern will always get bigger because they are fan-run clubs whose main objective is to win trophies which in turn attracts commercial partners which in turn drives commercial revenue.

One interesting fact, do you know Barcelona were not even in the top 10 in the year 2004?. Newcastle had more revenue than barca. So the obvious question is how did they jump up that high?

It is obvious trophies and loads of them. How do you win trophies then? Having good management and a good team. We don't have a good team and we need to sign good players and that means we need ownership investment. Will kroenke do that? I don't think so hence i expect us to fall farther behind.

Well done Emery. Very happy with your statement.
Professionally telling the board £ fans that you need investment. Well done - I like this a lot. Credit where credits due.
