That's a quote from Per Mertesacker today, make of it what you will.

From the rest of the article (just look for His interview with the Mail) i personally think he just means we aren't going to make many purchases.

However, I've already seen a few people suggesting he knows things we don't and that he means it as in we're done with signings.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in the window because there are a lot of quotes about transfers coming out and not just from the boss.
So far, we've had Gazidis talk about them, then the holding announcement had that line at the end of it, then Arsene gave his usual spiel and now we've got Per making comments.

It makes me wonder, on a side note, do the players have any influence of Arsene?
We already know they were the ones who made the point to play differently against man city, the season before last but what about new players?
I'm not suggesting any club should ever be held to ransom by its players, but if 3 or 4 players were to say we need more, would it be something he listened too or would we see the classic Arsene stubbornness?

I don't know what happens behind closed doors, but there's already rumours Sanchez asked Arsene to sign Vargas/ Chicharito last season and now Turan, who knows if it's true, but if it is and we aren't making a real effort, I can see Alexis, Özil and others running down their deal and leaving in the last year for a cut price and then we're back to square one!

An offer was made to Mahrez months ago. It's still on the table. This is not new news, but it is real (dunno about lacazette part) .

Arsenal would never spend 70-75Million on top of the 30 Mill for Xhaka already spent in one window unless was a major sale somewhere. I would say Arsenal have about max 50Mill free cash (Hence just the 20 Mill offer for Vardy) that they would spend freely without sales. So To get these your looking at selling a Ozil or Sanchez really. I think our spending is done tbh. Wenger was hoping for Vardy but had no backup plan if he did not get him as he was best available at the price we could spare. We may try a half baked attempt for just Mahrez but will never offer the 40 Mill quoted for him more like 20-25Mill tops.
