is there any one on this website that would think torres would be a great signing I mean wenger rescued henry's career I think he could do the same for torres {Ed027's Note - Not me, love the guy, but I wouldn't risk it

Believable7 Unbelievable10

If we could get him for 15 mill or less then I'd say yes. Our style of football would suit him better than currently at Chelsea.
Won't happen tho.

Agree6 Disagree4

Paul-Rochester, I'd like to read what you think is the arsenal style of play, and how its more suited to torres, than chelsea's style.

Agree2 Disagree1

In my opinion I think to an extent Chelsea still play as if drogba is up front. A big target man and Torres doesn't suit that. We play more on the ground, allowing Torres to play on the shoulder of the defenders looking for the through balls and low crosses. When he was at Liverpool he all so dropped wide and attacked in between full back and centre back. Something he doesn't seem allowed to do at Chelsea but something Wenger likes.

Totenham to fall apart and Arsenal to get 4th if the international brake does'nt ruin us

Believable13 Unbelievable3

5purs2 AND Chelsea too crumble. Chelsea's got 4 very tough games coming up along with a '6 games in 16 days' schedule. No reason why we can't finish third. COYG!

hello any of the eds is there any interest in kogbalia the seville mid

thanks
Bergkamp 5353 {Ed027's Note - I know who you mean, and there probably is, though Wenger would be interested in Neymar, Messi, noting concrete

ed what do you think are the chances jovetic will be joining arsenal in the summer. I just read he said a move to england would be tempting {Ed027's Note - i think he'll move, we're interested but so are Man City and Juve, with Bayern a possibility, so I'd make that a less than 25% chance

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Well, considering City haven't even made a move to even discuss with Fiorentina yet. And that they WON'T sell to another Serie A club. Along with the fact AFC have already made a bid of 19. 25m GBP and Fiorentina will accept a bid of 21m GBP I'd say it's a bit more than a 25% or even 50% chance.

It's all dependent on CL qualification.

Hey ed do you expect a world class player to be signed this summer, if so do you have any ideas on who we might get?

Br4dley

Believable0 Unbelievable3

We have made unofficial bids for Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo, Bonnucci, Alonso

We are likely to get at least four of these players

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Mar 2013 17:13:32
ed do you think capoue will be joining arsenal in the summer? {Ed027's Note - if we sign a holding mid, which I think we will, it will be him or wanayama

Believable5 Unbelievable0

We have aaron ramsey, who will take the position as his own, and be like a new signing. don't you know the arsenal transfer routine yet? forget capoue and wanyama

Agree11 Disagree8

I like Ramsey. He'll come good. But can't see him as a holding midfielder in the long term.

yyc

Agree6 Disagree1

How long are we going to say he will come good for? Can't see him improving much on his current standard to be fair.

Agree3 Disagree3

24 Mar 2013 16:52:58
personally Arsenal should be selling/releasing eight or nine players this summer, so there is no excuse why Wenger can't sign players
I say bring in :
begovic
Ogbonna
Yacob
Ramirez
Jovetic
qualateee!

anyone else see rambo's post match comments on wales not relying on bale and not being a one man team, and think its a sly little jab to bales rubbishty club team?

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Of course its not

Agree5 Disagree5

So people really think that Ramsey is going to take the opportunity to slate an international team whilst on international duty because he plays for our local rivals, get a life.

Just saw an interesting article that stated that Remy could leave QPR for 4m if they get relegated. He was a good striker for Marseille, and for that price I reckon he'd be a steal.

Thoughts?

Believable5 Unbelievable10

Not debating he would be a decent buy. But we need to start aiming higher than another average French striker.

Agree22 Disagree2

^^ how have 14 people forgoten about the ever so average sylvan wiltord and thierry henry? and giroud in his first season 15 goals 12 assists I don't know about you guys but that's not half bad in my books.

Let's be honest here which one of the 3 listed below would you welcome back to the Arsenal
Van Persie
Fab
Nasri

Limerick Gunner

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Fabregas. I would like to welcome back the other two, but because of their attitudes towards the club, I wouldn't like them back.

Agree22 Disagree4

It would be Limerick for me!

Agree4 Disagree5

What exactly was Nasri's attitude towards the club? his final game for us when negotiations were going on between both clubs he was our best player and gave everything, and since leaving he has been more complementary than most.

1404

Agree8 Disagree6

Fab! I have no hard feelings towards Nasri, but I think he hopelessly lost his class.

BGGOONER

Agree10 Disagree2

I love how people disagree with fact.

Nasri did **** all wrong and the sooner all Arsenal fans move on from that the better, he left, he won a couple trophys and more importantly I think he regrets leaving. might be worth thinking about that for 5 mins.

1404

Agree3 Disagree2

Nasri didn't do a lot wrong and its true he gave it his all in his last game. He's still a little sod though and I never really liked him.

Agree1 Disagree0

I cannot understand the Fabregas love in. He was our captain, with 3 years left on his contract and he walked out on us.

Completely agree with a point made by Daniel. Why is everyone so fussed about Ed002 leaving. It's not like his input was vital. Other Eds could give just as good an answer if you asked them instead. He received abuse and decided he wasn't going to tolerate it anymore. If you want questions reliably answered you can always ask Malaga.

Detroit Gooner

Believable12 Unbelievable13

I think you will find that most of the other ed's will admit that ed002 has a very good insight in to football finances, so when some of the posters on here make stupid statements about players transfers and wages and how the finances work, he was the one able to put them straight.

Still if you know any better maybe you can give up your free time, unpaid, and answer them?

Agree8 Disagree5

He knew stuff, good stuff too

What I meant was he isn't a vital component of this site, there's still plenty of discussions etc without him. People need to stop whining and respect his decision. Kind of disrespectfull to other Eds aswell. don't be ridiculous suggesting why don't I give up my time, unpaid etc. If your going to take the moral high-ground don't be such a hypocrite, do it yourself.

Having edd002 posting is like winning a trophy though

Kinda random and no chance of it I know, but having seen reports this morning of Diego Simone willing to take Torres back to Athletico I assume in some exchange deal for Falco. I truly believe that if Torres is available for under 20M we should take a look. The guy was striking excellence, top of the group and untouchable, something has gone wrong at Chelsea but I feel he will come good in new surroundings and we should give it a look.

Can I also say at this point I feel anyone slagging off the Ed's or over abusing anyone should just get banned from the site. The ed's do this for free and the enjoyment of bringing the fans together why give them abuse. Everyone has opinions and information they either want to share or not, no one has the right to abuse them them for it.

Holmesy

Believable8 Unbelievable13

He's lost his pace, that's all he had.

Total rubbish now, wouldn't take him on a free

Agree14 Disagree8

I would take him over bentdner

Agree8 Disagree1

I would take YOU over Bendtner!

Agree10 Disagree0

Seriously how long was Torres top of the pile or striking excellence? maybe he had a good couple years that's it really

1404

Agree3 Disagree2

I'd actually have to think hard to choose between him and Bendtner. Better someone cocky than someone who looks scared to be on the pitch.

Agree0 Disagree1

Id rather Torres as at least he can be the designated driver on the pi$$ ups. poor old Bendtner is a bus w****** nowadays lol

I know I've been saying we should go for Sanchez,

But does anyone else think that Christian Eriksen has gone under the radar a bit?

He is such a high quality player, if you havnt seen him play then I suggest you watch some Ajax/Denmark games, or even YouTube him.

He is an absolute freak who is not being courted by massive clubs for reasons I can't understand why.

He was recommended to us by Dennis Bergkamp and I for one would love to see a 15-20 mil bid be put in for him, phenomenal talent.

Nick. {Ed027's Note - if he came it would mean santi out wide

Believable4 Unbelievable4

I saw him this season in a pre season friendly at Norwich, I know it was a friendly but he didn't stand out at all, that was my abiding memory because I was watching him specifically as he had been named as a target for us. Not saying he hasn't improved since then but I wouldn't be spending big money on him if I was arsene. Ricky the sg

Agree1 Disagree1

He was very good against Man City in the Champions league

Putting tribal loyalties aside - who in the current Arsenal first XI is better than their Spurs counterpart? Hurts me to say it, but I can't think of many. {Ed027's Note - Lloris
Jenkinson Dawson Verthongen Monreal
Wilshere Sandro
Cazorla
Lennon Walcott Bale, thats 5 of ours in there, but Walker could easily come in for Jenko, and Defoe for Theo, but Koscielny could come in for Dawson, and Diaby (on from/fit) for Sandro

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Although Giroud could edge Defoe. And at top of his game Diaby is equal to Dembele's best and Vermaelen would usually get picked but poor recently.

Lloris,
Walker, Vertonghen, Koscielny, Gibbs,
Cazorla, Wilshere, Dembele, Bale,
Podolski, Defoe.

Subs: Szeszecncy, Monreal, Vermaelen, Parker, Arteta, Lennon, Giroud

Detroit Gooner

Agree4 Disagree4

Walker for Jenkinson, don't talk rubbish, he's so flash and over rated.

A GOONER

Agree1 Disagree3

Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Monreal, Walcott, Wilshere, Parker, Bale, Defoe, Podolski

Agree1 Disagree2

I will take the 11 players that don't bottle the 4th spot.

Agree1 Disagree0

Thinking about it - might put Caz in behind Defoe - so drop Pod to the bench.

Agree0 Disagree2

Its depressingly hard to choose. Its a sign that we have too many good but not great players. We really should have 4 or 5 players tha without question would get in the spurs team (maybe only Jack and Cazorla)
