Out of all the top six clubs, we are the only one where the champs league money will not be winging its way to next season. It doesn't matter though, we don't need the 50 mil anymore. We are loaded now.

It's not done us much good in the past Steve doubt we will notice the difference mate, as for the champions league it's self, maybe the 5 teams representing the premier league maybe they can boost English footballs image between them, it's been a long time now since a premier league team hot to the final.
I'm not unhappy with the Europa league myself, obviously it doesn't have the prestige of the champions league but I'd rather compete in the Spursdaynight than make up the numbers in the champions league.

Maybe we can do a manu, finish 6th and get in champs league. We could probably invent another trophy. Seriously it impacts the players we can get, we will be behind all of them in the queue. i'm not getting excited at the thought of who might come and who might go, its dire. Who wants to play for a club with no ambition.

We use to use champions league to get players. Now that's gone we will struggle. Unless the take over happens.

Thanks ed 007, do you have her phone number.

{Ed007's Note - St Jude's a dude mate but I say live and let live. We'll be running live scripture readings and Bible studies during the close season to cover costs of the loss of traffic from live chats.
Β£20 and I'll get you in and we don't judge :)

Credit to Mourinho to be fair, his plan on giving up on the top for a few weeks back has paid off.

Let's just see if Wenger's plan of giving up on the league in December for the FA Cup pays off. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

Do you boys really think champions league last 16 was ever that bigger draw for players? It never seemed that way when players were giving us a miss n the past.
I think we are finally emerging from groundhog day and we've taken a step back but will sooner or later start going forward again.
Top 4 will be tougher than ever next season and anything more than a season without that income won't be accepted lightly, change is on the way one way or another we just have to accept it.
I can't see how our pulling power has been weakened Xhaka Mustafi and Perez would all have joined last summer without champions league football on offer.

25 May 2017 11:07:43
Was meaning more ozil and sanchez joining. If we wanted a top player champions league would of helped. But usmanov billions would off set that imo.

25 May 2017 13:03:49
I think a new manager would help even more. I can't see Sanchez and Ozil jumping ship if Allegri came in as our new manager? Players just need to believe missing out on the top 4 is just a blip. Why did Man u still manage to sign decent players even though they had no CL, and Chelsea kept Hazard etc despite no CL? For me if Wenger stays, it says more of the same, but replacing him with someone like Allegri would signal ambition and intent.

My prediction at the end of last season,
Arsenal will spend close to 100 Million and Arsene signs a new contract .
I'm keeping quite next season. πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Asked the wife today what her opinion on Arsenal's season was.

She says, "it's BAD! An absolute disgrace".

I'm like, "Yeah, more than likely but let's hear it anyway".

Stoner, you caught that. I'm well impressed. And yes, two happy wives, but I think that's only because they're new and I keep them separated from the rest of the herd.

Oh and please don't call me Jesus in public again. People on this site will start asking for miracles and there's no way I can get Arsenal to win the league next season.

On a brighter note, at least people know Jesus is an Arsenal fan. Bloke loves a bit of punishment.

Morning Eds.

I was wondering after Wenger's comment today "It will not be my last match no matter what happens because I will stay in football", is there any interest in him from other clubs?

I think I saw something about PSG maybe wanting him as a sporting director, but from his comment it sounds like he wants to continue managing.

I looked through the old posts before asking, and I saw from Ed002 that Wenger wanted to retire. Has he changed his mind about that or is he just ducking the question do you think?

Thanks guys :)

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know what he has said but I would recommend trying not to disect it.}

24 May 2017 11:37:29
Think the man just loves football. I think he'll be our manager next season. Like it or not let's just get behind the guy and the team. Finishing outside the top 4 sucks but it could be worse.

I don't understand the frantic rush. It doesn't matter what he says or doesn't say it will happen soon.

Your right D16, it could be worse. Alexis Sanchez might leave for Bayern. oh wait!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2017 15:06:22
If Alexis leaves I've no doubt we'll replace him. We've seen many amazing players come and go.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2017 15:23:04
The real problem D16 is that we are no longer supposed to be a selling club and we have no Champions League and that counts for a lot.

Wenger sadly, has got us in a place of real danger and his will he won't he situation has definitely harmed us.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2017 20:25:53
It could be worse, if and when Wenger leaves we could replace him with David Moyes.

Since community shield is between the league winners and FA cup winners who plays Chelsea in the community shield if they win the FA cup as well? Us? Since we'll be FA cup runners up, tottenham for league runners up or united for EFL cup or europa league winners or runners up?

So it appears Sanchez agent is in Germany doing his best to line his pockets. To be fair, I'd much rather he went to Bayern than city.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 May 2017 08:09:36
In Sanchez's case, he just wants to win trophies. Yes, he will get paid handsomely at Bayern but his main motivation has always been trophies. As a LFC fan, I know how frustrating it is to lose your best players but u just got to deal with it.
Interesting to see how Arsenal do without Sanchez (he is worth half your team imo) . LFC suffered when we failed to replace Suarez adequately, and Wenger needs to use all his resources to sign some decent players rather than more Xhakas and Welbecks.

24 May 2017 09:05:20
@Indian Buzzer did you really just try to make out like Liverpool have been hard done by in losing key players in the past? You realise you're on an Arsenal page!? Liverpool have lost two good players over the last dozen years. how many have we had poached or sold on for profit?

Sanchez can go if he wants, we'll find someone else. We always do.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2017 10:45:58
Interestingly, Sanchez has claimed he is happy living in London, "I'd like to stay in the city but with a team that is winning things, that has a winning mentality".

So he's off to Munich then which is just north of Peckham.

gooner83, when u lost most of your quality players over the last decade or so, the club still had a solid team with at least 2-3 top notch players holding fort. This current Arsenal team is weaker than the previous teams, it lacks leaders and direction. In the past, you were in the UCL but now you are in the Europa. Wenger was still a quality manager 4-5 years ago. Now he has lost his mojo. Getting Arsenal out of this rut could take years if the right decisions are not made.
Take Sanchez out of that team, and who else would any of BPL's top clubs even want? Maybe Bellerin but he is probably off to Barcelona anyways. I'd take Koscielny to partner Matip, but none of your other players are worth wasting money on or the effort it would take to sign them.
I am not having a pop at your club, just pointing out that losing a player of Sanchez's calibre and no other world class player in your squad plus no UCL to back it up will be detrimental to building from the down up. Its a long process and a frustrating journey. Just because you found 'adequate' replacements in the past does not mean you will now as well. The competition has gotten fiercer over the last couple of years.
