Very good performance, very good result against a woeful Chelsea team.

Happy days, happy Dags.

Chelsea were woeful last season too mate but still managed to beat us home and away so I'm totally dismissing Chelsea and concentrating 100% on the significance of us beating them.

The first 27 times Arsene took on Chelsea we totally dominated them and were consistently in the thick of the title race year after year, the last 27 its been Chelsea dominating us consistently in a period where we haven't managed to put in one single serous challenge.

I'm hoping today is the start of a whole new chapter for both Arsenal and Arsene.

Dags, as I'm a honest fan I thought you boys were excellent today, but I also thought this was one of the worst Chelsea sides in many years. The only sides who look impressive so far is man city, Liverpool, spurs and Arsenal.

The big problem we have going forward (future wise) is it is plainly obvious we would have been bogged down with slow moving football if giroud had started. Will walcot and sanchez keep him on the subs bench for the next 20 games, they have to do. The midfield area luckily enough we are strong, hopefully coq won't be missed (best tackler in the team) defence will be reliant on kos and mustaffi so no injuries there needed. Best team performance since citehs and utds demolition. It can't be a one off though, its got to be the way we play every game, no tippy tappy pass pass. Chelski couldn't have got much more wrong but at least we had the tools to punish them.

Absolutely Gent's.

Good point Steve, I thought that last night. I think this is a formation AW will stick with.

With Giroud playing the first and third goal would be highly unlikely.

There will be games for Olly I'm sure he is a different option and offers that plan B we've all moaned about not having for years, yesterday we were superbly brilliant but there will be games we need to approach differently or need to change our approach in to get 3pts apposed to just the 1pt or even 0pts
I think Theo summed things up perfectly yesterday when he said " we've been here before onky for it all to come to nothing " " but the past is the past and we are working very hard to make it different this time"
I like that attitude a lot because it's true of both himself and the team but no body can rewind the clock and go back and do it again it's all about learning from mistakes and things we got wrong and putting them right to make the future better better than the past.

A lot of positives and some great moments, Ozil dummying Kante, Bellerins covering tackle, how fast is that guy?

Kostafi looking a very good pairing, Walcott showing what he should be doing every week and Sanchez getting back to his best.

Lets see this teams game face every week.

Ozil giving his shirt to a young gunner.

Gunner we will miss giroud defending our own set pieces and corners but as a striker he is so ineffective to a fluid attack. There will be the odd game he may be useful as a target but his future is off the bench. Our problems come when he again through unavailability, he becomes our main striker. People will push perez into the debate but we haven't seen enough of him yet to say he will step in.

That is fantastic, thanks for putting that up Red.
What an absolutely brilliant way to end an absolutely brilliant day for everyone at at Arsenal and one young fan in particular, love it.

great performance from the team today, i must say am really happy with the kos/ mustafi partnership in central defence

i also think kieran gibbs deserves a mention, he has not been getting a lot of first team action lately and i think he done really well when he came on.

also think its good to have a selection headache, especially in the cdm area.

AGREE
But I thought Walcott put in a good shift, Best all-round game for a long while from him.

25 Sep 2016 10:50:19
The last time Walcott put a shift like that was the demolition job of man u and we see what can happen when not only what he can do when he and the team play out of their skin in the first half we BULLIED yes BULLIED Chelsea when was the last time we said this can't get to ahead of myself but I did say before Wenger has to be given his applauds he picked the right team although I know a lot before kick off thought he didn't I being one and he's right I believe there's more of a maturity in the team in the season of old we would of gone all gung ho in the second half trying to kill of the game but instead we showed that common sense we lacked before to sit back stifle Chelsea and counter on the break. PERFORMANCES LIKE THAT REAFFIRMS WHY I LOVE THIS BEAUTIFUL CLUB COYG BE OPTIMISTIC KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK BOYS AND THE FANS WILL KEEP THAT EMIRATES ROCKING I FOR ONE HAVE NEVET HRARD IT SO LOUD IT WAS ALMOST AS IF I WAS DAYDREAMINH AND IT WAS HIGHBURT COYG COYG COYG COYG!

A ghost laid to rest today, stunning start. As of this minute Chelsea look the worst of the big boys.

A real surprise today from both chelski and us. A pleasant surprise. The next 8 fixture are all winnable, we have been there before but they are.

They were woeful Bambam.

I liked Theo's interview after the game where he said pretty much that we'd been there before and that basically one great performance wasn't enough.

This is the performance that has to be the bench mark, we made Chelsea look woeful and it was great to see.

A shame Coquelin is injured as he was excellent again but who could argue with Xhaka as a replacement.

Really liking Mustafi and Koscielny, their performances at the back will inspire the rest. Eight winnable games and then the spuds.

It's making for a great season and the team that finishes top will have earned it, performances like this every week, not every now and then, will certainly see us challenge.

Feet on the ground, game at a time. We are as usual nobodies favourites.

Outstanding result against a team we have struggled against so badly in recent years, absolutely brilliant!
Big shout for Arsene too his tactics and team selection were spot on and he deserves all the credit going tonight.
Maybe just maybe things really will be different this season.

Agreed and Granit signing looking good. Thought him and Coq outshone Kante by a mile. Ozil completely mugged Kante who then let Ozil run off to score.

Hopefully Coq not out too long.

Ozil, Theo, Mustafi, Kos, Sanchez and Coq then Granit were huge. Well played Iwobi - love that guy! Very very happy.

How fast was Bellerin. He really wanted a clean sheet

Happy 20th AW and really well done. Very happy we signed Mustafi and Granit - looking forward to seeing Perez more.

Its the raver coming through in his Subaru to tell you the spurs invincibles win again. We ate the biggest threat to man city and everyone knows it. I'm off out in the Subaru to get absolutely smashed.

You ate he biggest threat to Man City? You had another dodgy lasagne!
One day you might learn ( to stop eating dodgy food and to stop boasting at the start of the season winners boast at the end of the season )

That's the only time he can boast.

If he was an arsenal fan he would boast we are top before the season had started.

Sanago you beat the worst Chelsea side in years who will struggle for top 6. I see the Arsenal players are getting carried away again with their selfies boasting after the match, they done the same last season and won nothing lol.
