Hello lads just a quick question
Is it true if that Man Utd win the Europa and finish in top 4 the 5th placed team gets Champions league.

25 Apr 2017 18:52:11
Liverpool and Manchester city are hoping so :-)

25 Apr 2017 18:53:29
I'm not sure if what you say is possible.

If Utd beat city they are level with Liverpool with a game in hand and of course ahead of city to who drop to 5th, if city and Utd draw they will be 1 and 2points behind Liverpool respectively but both with a game in hand.
I'm pretty sure both Manchester clubs will make the top 4 and Thursday evening might decide who's 3rd and who's 4th between the two of them.

No only four teams allowed in but if any one wins the europa outside top four then five. No only top four.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 19:42:25
In other words man u finishing top four and winning europa, their europa champs league spot isn't offered to anyone else in the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 19:51:54
Does it go to the runner up?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Of course not.}

25 Apr 2017 22:44:27
So where does the extra place go, if Utd qualify via league position and winning the europa league?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is no extra place if the team otherwise qualifies. You get in the CL by qualifying - not because of any freebie. The Liverpool fans suffer the same dellusion.}

25 Apr 2017 23:19:58
Good news, i like the idea of things being achieved by a clubs own merits rather than on the backs of others success.
This can only be good for Arsenal and Liverpool long term, looking for freebies to cover up your own inabilities does no one any good long term.

26 Apr 2017 08:32:51
If a team win the champions league and finishes out side the top 4 then there will be 5 teams in champions league but if a team win europa league and is outside the top 4 theh take 4th spots place.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2017 14:34:25
Stephen you are wrong, the same rule applies as champs league winners. That only happen if both teams from england win the champs league and the europa and finish outside top five, then the fourth team miss out. The max you are allowed is five.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2017 14:55:53
Sorry and in that senario the fourth place would be ejected. that's theonly way fourth will miss out.

If reports are true and clubs are after giroud and a Chinese club want wilshere I say sell them, we need to start building for the future and I cannot see a place for them.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Apr 2017 16:57:50
If wenger stops giroud and wilshire will be here next year as will many others who should go.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 17:10:53
IF, wenger is the manager at the start of next season, giroud and wilshire will still be here along with many others who should be sold. Sachez and maybe ozil who should be here wont.

26 Apr 2017 11:25:49
Very true Steve. It looks like he is staying let's be honest. I know I'm living in hope but he finally changed tactics maybe he will finally change the reluctance to sell players who don't add much. Hopeful I know.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2017 14:40:04
D he didn't change his tactics for tactical genius, he changed them in desperation because all the teams above us did it months ago. He didn't change, he stuck it out and then copied. He hasn't changed, he always copies. He tried to copy Barcelona with tica taca football and failed. He hasn't changed, he is exactly the same as he has been the last decade, behind.

Win the FA Cup or top four finish?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

25 Apr 2017 08:18:40
I'll have both thanks. I fully anticipate Liverpool wetting the bed and sliding out the top 4.

Agree2 Disagree1

25 Apr 2017 08:49:03
Given the choice I'd take the FA cup simply because of the day it's self and quality of opponent on the day, as for yet another champions league clinching final day of season to ensure we get the chance to continue our last 16 competitiveness? What is the point really? Maybe a season or two in the spursdaynight league would be good for us long term who knows.
Personally I've thought for months Utd would pip Liverpool into 4th place and i still do even though city look the most susceptible to being caught row now i think they will really and take 3rd place by game 38.

25 Apr 2017 09:38:07
Fa cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 11:22:59
Typical R. G. would rather now win the cup than playing champions league lol, if we are so crap rg why are you trailing us by 14 points. I wonder if you'll be putting another open top bus parade for winning the FA cup like you did when you beat hull lol.

25 Apr 2017 12:30:55
FA Cup.
Finishing outside top 4 is a wake up call to the board that we need strengthening.

25 Apr 2017 13:11:17
Oh dear raver, you really do need to learn to read. I asked a question without giving my opinion. It's interesting that the two FA Cups we have won over the last three seasons are more than the Toot have won in your lifetime, more than your manager has won and more than your players have won. Looks like being another barren year for your mob. As you know the pain at the lane and Wembley just goes on 1961 and waiting. Seven lost semis!

25 Apr 2017 14:01:22
Lets see how you boys feel on Sunday after Harry Kane smashes you apart like he, always does. Enjoy Thursday nights R. G. and say goodbye to Sanchez and ozil who will be gone. Like the spurs fans sing arsene Wenger we want you to stay, 14 points mind that enormous gap lol.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 14:09:54
Nothing worse than loosing a semi RG61. I hope the toot are good a thumbing in a softie 😆.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 14:45:23
Nothing worse than losing a final as you boys will find out next month, remember Michael Owen and nayim from the half way line lol.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 15:21:30
Oh dear raver, won nothing at the toot in your lifetime. 7 semi-final defeats! To think that we could all buit end any realistic chance you have of finishing top. Almost as amusing as winning the title twice at your place! As you know the pain at the lane and Wembley just goes on. 1961 and waiting. 7 semi-final defeats.

Agree0 Disagree3

25 Apr 2017 16:07:56
Thursday nights even if Wenger beats poch for the first time you'll still be 11 points behind lol, I might change my name to your old number of 69 as its me and your wife's favourite number.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 16:44:04
If we finish outside top four and win fa cup and wenger goes, fa cup. If we win fa cup and outside top four and he stays, I don't want to win fa cup. If we get top four and win fa cup and he stays I will be upset but he I will put up with him for one more year on proviso we improve our challenges and actually put one in.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 17:02:56
Basically what I am saying if the fa cup is a bench mark for him to reach and he thinks that entitles him a stay of execution, I don't agree and I don't want it. Winning the fa cup and finishing 5 or 6 or lower is not good enough to stay but a nice way to say goodbye. He missed thelast oopportunity last time and it went sour and it will get worse if he misses the chance this time. If it happens.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 19:21:15
Raver, an expert on Thursday nights: Bingo or Europa. You are about 12, so no chance of a wife, more like your Mum, hopefully 61, not 69. As you well know the pain at the lane just goes on. Can't wait to goad you when you end up winning absolutely nothing. Long may Pochettino stay, an expert in winning nothing, ideal for the Toot. 3 comps so far and Arsenal have gone further in all 3. Even if you finish in the top four, it's an early Wembley exit for you and back to Thursdays. 1961.

26 Apr 2017 08:37:02
I want the fa cup its a trophy we need to rebuild so i don't care if not in champions league as we do nothing in it anyway.

26 Apr 2017 14:41:06
Stephen but why do we do nothing in the champs league?

When Mustafi is fit, shoud he come back into the new look back three and if so, who should he replace?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Apr 2017 09:42:36
Interesting question. I've rated Mustafi very highly since he arrived but recently he's had a few shaky performances. Is this an issue with him or the team? I've been impressed with Holding and have always wanted to see Gabriel do well. I think though Gabriel would be the one making way for Mustafi. Until we play Chelsea and he can come n and take Costa to pieces.

25 Apr 2017 09:34:15
No, holding and gabs deserve a run.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 09:38:55
Tuff one I'd have to say gabs.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2017 10:43:03
Dropping either Gabriel or Holding is the easy option as is always subbing or resting the Ox and letting Joel Campbell go out on loan despite doing far better than most last season.
Surely if this season has proved anything it's proved Arsene taking the path of least resistance in order to keep a happy ship has done nothing to make the team competitive.
Don't change a winning team and make those not in that winning team hungry rather than privileged.

Mustaffi in a back three I think could be suspect, not the most mobile and quickest.
