That’s one thing I thought was great about the England game the other day! Sterling and lingard we’re getting battered by panama, and Henderson and loftus cheek stepped into that minder roll. It was great disapline on display yesterday . I’m not usually an England hype man but of what we have seen we shouldn’t be scared.

I can't say Steve because I haven't seen him, I know I would like us to have a new cmf pairing to go into the new season with but if the worse comes to the worst 1 is better than nothing
Last season it was our biggest weakness even more so than our defence so I'm sure Dick is on the case.

Banega is not for sale according to his club but at least our chasing him shows Dick is looking to improve our midfield further than just Torreira which is music to my optimism levels.

I try not to get too carried away with transfer rumours, and prefer to listen to ED002 or Ornstein first, but I cannot help but get excited about Banega. I have loved his play-style for a lont time, and with Emery used to working with him, surely its a no-brainer. I am loving the defensive reinforcements so far, but Banega, yes please!

Personally, I think that's enough aging players now. If we are going to spend more money in the transfer window it should be aimed at targets we are already chasing, Soyuncu or Seri etc. Players that are still young have are reaching the prime of their careers. If he was a free transfer then fair enough.

Don't worry about the money Glen mate it makes no odds to us if he's free or 5 or 20 million, if he is good enough to still command a decent transfer fee then maybe that's a good sign rather than a disadvantage mate.

It's clearly an issue with the club though Gunner because why would you settle for a £15m 30 year old Benega over a £40m 26 year old Seri. The answer - The money. Both attacking midfielders and I know which one I would prefer. Arsenal don't need to increase the average age of the squad by 100,000 to plug the problem areas because they're cheaper and experienced. We will only have to plug those holes again next year because they're 'getting on a bit'. I am happy with the business we have done so far and looking at Torreira, he is going to be another good signing for us! If we are going to bring in more however, some younger talented players would be more beneficial.

Let me re-phrase for those that might be a little confused. He's a central midfielder which equally involves attacking and defending. let's take Iniesta for example, he's a central midfielder who does both but prefers to attack rather than defend. So Banega is a more 'attacking' central midfielder. Then again, we all have our own opinions.

My point about money was meant about us fans, it makes no odds to us if signings are free or 15 million it's not us paying it.
You like Seri Glen, Dick likes Banega, I think it's best Dick does what he thinks is right because it's him who will get judged either way.
Managers get sacked while fans just move on to next season regardless.

Is it just me or has the World Cup been a little underwhelming this time around (so far) ?
Usually there's a few new players that really excite and set things on fire, but there's not been any of that, for me at least.

I am really enjoying the World Cup so far. It usually moves on to an even higher level during the knock out stage.
As regards the players, since TV coverage has grown we see so many matches from all over the world, that very few top players can escape being seen.

I think the best thing about it mate is the South American fans, they said the other day there were 47,000 fans of one of the countries and I think 30,000 Colombians at another game. The Mexican team have been brilliant.
Maybe they just don’t believe the hype about Russia. A lot of people over there are saying how great it is.

Sano, it was probably propaganda hype to some extent but i have been reading about a russian journalist. He says the last two years the russian military/ police have been doing dawn raids on the russian ultras. They have systematically arrested, beat and torchered all their ring leaders, about 200 of them and turned them all into quivering wrecks. Apparently the hardline ultras are hiding away not daring to come out. They were planning to wreak carnage. I suppose you don't mess with the russians.

I would much rather be proved wrong than right on this one and I hope everyone who attends from all over the world has a great trouble free world cup and everyone is talking about Russia 2018 for all the right reasons for years to come.
