not even june and i'm being driven nuts by all the players we are linked with

let me ask this question though, when has arsene ever made public his targets? I mean who saw ozil coming I think it was like 6-8 hrs before the news lot saw it

i'm just curious who the players we haven't been linked with we'd be excited by?

been thinking about it a fair bit and i'm struggling to name any

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Drives me nuts too! But even thought it obviously doesn't make one bit of different, I can't stop myself doing/looking up these fantasy (but within reason) transfers!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow, I'm actually really surprised at this, but I can understand. Here in Australia, my Love for football sprung from the World Cup, as it was the only football competition, telecast in full, on Aussie TV. The 94 world cup absolutely captivated me, I can remember exactly where I was when Bergkamp scored a pearler against, I think, Argentina. That made him instantly my favorite player and ultimately, a gooner. Anyway, when my beloved Socceroos managed to defeat Uruguay on penalties to qualify for the 06 world cup, the first time we'd qualified for 32 years, it was a special moment. We're drawn with Spain, The Netherlands and Chile and I'll tell you, I'll be cheering my heart out for the Socceroos @ 4:30 in the morning, just like I did for the Gunners in the FA cup. I hope you guys don't need to miss qualifying for the World Cup for 32 years to appreciate the magic it can create.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoops, that was for the post above, about the World Cup, would you believe.

G62,

How's the Balotelli band-wagon going mate?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its gone completely Mad, stupidly Crazy and totally unpredictable but at the same time exciting and full of hopeful expectation of great things that are within our reach but could implode at any time :-) can I welcome you aboard mate? May not be the wisest choice but its a very exciting one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Better than the Remy one unfortunately :(

Agree0 Disagree0

G62,

I can't make my mind up about Mario.

I see the good and the bad in him, just not sure if he will fit in at Arsenal.

1404 and I will keep riding the Remy bus.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could probably shorten that down dags to 'I'm still riding remy'

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I can see all the potential pitfalls and they are plenty no question, but are outweighed for me by the potential gains by several times over and then some on toast.
As for the other bloke you mention :-) his possible arrival is as potentially exciting as a two hour documentary on the life cycle of the common stinging nettle, repeated for the umpteenth time

Agree0 Disagree0

Dags I'm looking to hire one of Tottenhams crew to steal him from ya last second and bring him to mersyside. Only problem is, he could be a double agent :(.

Agree0 Disagree0

TJred,

if you are talking about Balotelli, you can have him mate, lol.

How many players, if all top targets are signed, do you expect Arsenal to sign?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'll say 4, being ambitious and saying a gk, RB, MF and a FW/Winger

Agree0 Disagree0

3, rb, dm and striker.
4 if you count an unknown gk

Agree0 Disagree0

Top targets I'd expect MF probably Cesc and a striker, plus
GK back up free to 3 to mil
RB 3 to 5 mil
CB 4 to 5 mil
LW free to 5 mil
About 70 million max spend

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like GK, Micah for Rb a DM, Cazorla out and Cesc in and a striker from Sanchez, Lukaku or Benzema or even 2 if we can find somewhere for Giroud to go, so I'm thinking 4-5

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you want Cazorla out?
understand that we'd like cesc back. but do you think they couldn't play together?
If anything last year showed we don't have enough good midfield players.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd imagine we'd have to make way of Cesc came back, Cazorla is the one for me I'd sell, I don't really rate Cazorla tbh.

Hi Ed,

I ask this question once a year.

Saw that Chuks Aneke was released (with of course #dench Frimpong). Also, thinking that we need pace on the wing and assuming Ryo Miyachi is going to be given a chance to shine next season, with Gnabary likely to get more time as well.

I was curious if you could offer insight into the comings and goings of the youngsters, who is goig to get a shot at first team (Chuba?), and who is heading to the exit.

Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - I suspect you have seen the released list from the PL, so apart from them, I can see Miquel, Afobe, Coquelin, Martinez and Miyaichi moved on, none are in the long term plans of he club. A decision will have to be made on Campbell, whether that is another loan or sold on, I don't see him being part of the first team unless he produces something special at the WC. Gnabry and Sanogo particularly could be loaned out, preferably to a PL side I imagine. Akpom, Zelalem, Olsson, Hayden, Bellerin are all likely to feature in th cups and get short term loan deals. Likes of Wellington and Galindo still don't have permits, Galindo will run down his contract whilst Wellington should get on this summer. Hope this helps, the academy will be having an overhaul this summer, with Jonker coming in expect quite a few departures

An overhaul is long overdue! Apart from Wilshere I can't remember the last person to come through our own academy, and not buy from another's.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shame, so many if them looked so promising

As far as Balotelli is concerned:
I don't give a whatever if he torches all the bathrooms in Hertfordshire.
I don't give one either if he drives around north London n an articulated ice cream truck giving tottingham fans free 99s
I do care that when things aren't going that great on the field he walks about like Kevin on steroids- qs this affects the other players.

He is a good player but his stats do not yet lend themselves to him being called great. I like his play and his ability unfortunately he is more often a Li - ability.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Balotelli? YES BLOODY PLEASE. G62 I'll drive you to the San Siro and instead of petrol money I'll let you carry him to the Emirates.

Under Wenger Mad Mario can become an absolute world beater and if we snap him up it will be at a good price considering Milan are eager to offload him and I can see pundits saying he may be one of the most improved strikers in world football at the end of next season thanks to Wenger and the likes of Ozil, Rambo and Theo supplying him.

He's only what? 23? 24? Still has a shed load of potential and is the tricky, composed clinical finisher we need to become champions again.

Aslo next season looks like it will see the return of Joey Barton to the Premier League. We need another nut job to make the league more entertaining next season. There wouldn't be enough popcorn in the world.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

CIG he will raise both excitement and expectation levels to 9 year high and if he is accompanied by Cesc to join our already fast improving team! August just can't get here soon enough

Agree0 Disagree0

I've always said if we (liverpool) signed balotelli alongside Suarez, I'd be super happy, but wouldn't have a hair left in my head! And unfortunately, I don't think anyone would like liverpool anymore, what little most people did before then lol. Balo would be great for you guys.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Media Circus Balotelli would bring would be just incredible, too much attention for the likes of Arsenal.

Im not sure wenger can do anthing more that what Mourinho, Mancini and Seedorf have done to bring him in control.

I have always admired him and I did want him awhile back, but it seems he just cannot change his stripes and he will go down the route of those players who had the potential but wasted it big time, shame because he has the potential to be a ballon d'or winner.

I know him and cesc are Puma athletes, so if that is an improved incentive I would not mind us signing him on the condition we don't spend 30 mill for him. 20 mill and I can say we gamble, does'nt work out someone will take him off our hands for 15 mill and we atleast try.

Ed02 thanx for my earlier rumour reply. I have another question for u ed bcs I have great belief in u.Ed02 what do you think this summer brings for arsenal fans this summer in respect of transfers? Thanx I will really apprecite your teply

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There will be some in and outs across a number of positions - certainly GK, RB, D, F and possibly MF.}

25 May 2014 14:51:42
Eds what's the delay in wengers contract signing?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Why does he need to rush?}

Because it's running out I guess?

LOL LOL

And some of you lot wanted Simeone as Arsenal manager, last night was exactly the reason why we wouldn't even consider him, he is a ticking time bomb.

In boxing terms
He is a street fighter light Duran whereas when we need a manager we would look for someone like Sugar Ray Leonard .100% class

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Exactly what I thought, total embarrassment! same with that mug at the bridge.

Agree0 Disagree0

When has he ever lost his cool before?

He lost his cool in the heat of the moment after just seeing his side go 4-1 down after being minutes from limiting the trophy. Give the guy a break.

What he has done with Atleti this year is unbelievable! He'd thrive at our club and I certainly wouldn't be anything but delighted were he to be named our next manager.

I'm pretty sure you'd be happy with Klopp, right? He can lose his cool easier than Simeone as was shown in the CL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing wrong with Duran Banbury, the bloke was never beaten dispite being outpointed and occasionally outclassed he never ever gave up.
Now Sugar Ray! Absolute class until he worked it so he became the light heavy weight champion dispite never fighting at that wieght, go figure? Boxing began a very steep decline that night
Shame because previously he'd been fantastic for boxing but in the end was a big part of its down fall which it has never recovered

Agree0 Disagree0

Be honest, if you were 90 seconds from winning the champions league, then you go 4-1 down and an opposition player kicks a ball at you, would you lose your she*p? I know I would.

Winning La Liga and reaching CL final with a shoe-string budget deserves recognition. I also saw him appluading after each Real goal, no moaning or anything, he just continued to try rally his team.

Id take him or Klopp in a heartbeat if Wenger leaves.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought it was little Bo Peep who lost her she*p

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought simionne was passionate and quite calm in the circumstances. Shows he cares, for me he is a streetfighter and good on him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gunner62, I think your wrong there, if my memory serves me well, thomas hearns gave duran a good spanking, I think he had him down 4 times in one round, and I also think tommy won his light heavyweight world title before ray leonard when he had denis andries on the floor around 7 times in that fight, not bad for a welterweight

Agree0 Disagree0

You are most probably right on all counts Wordy baby but Sugar never actually fought at light heavy dispite claiming the title

Agree0 Disagree0

No 2 GK Scot Carson, don't think England v Croatia think before that and Arsenal v Wigan SF, confidence and form disappear ability doesnt.

CB/ RB Micah Richards trust me he is a diamond waiting to be polished and Arsene can do this better than most.

DMF Song fantastic passing range and would fit straight in
MF Cesc surely no explanation needed, like Song would fit in immediately and what MF we would have :-) happy days .

Striker Yes stupid Mario I'd love him to come to us, he'd excite and exasperate in equal measures but within a month we'd all love him to bits.

Ladies and Gentlemen prepare to once again be crowned PL champions with the very good side we already have and these additions the tropthy will naturally start to the long journey from Manchester to north London immediately and without notice

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd go for Ben Foster. Quality keeper, kept WBA in prem.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd actually take someone like stekeleberg from relegated Fulham. Top quality keeper who will push Szczesny on.

We need an experienced keeper to step in should an injury or suspension hit us but primarily he is just going to sit on the bench as Szczesny has cut out the mistakes and is maturing into a fantastic keeper. He will only get better.

However, if he does dip in form then Stek is quality.

As for Richards, I totally agree. I have also said before he would be a really good signing. He is young, English and an Arsenal fan and he can be a great rb for us given time to recover to the beast he once was.

Cesc - All day long.

Song - Not for me but he could do a job for us.

Can someone explain to me why we would want to stick a social grenade into our team in the form of Balotelli? Why on earth would we want him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Because he can score

Agree0 Disagree0

If I can find 3 other persons to join me I'd carry him from Heathrow to the Emirates, why because he is brilliant and full of goals given great service, because he would help us be champions again and drive us absolutely crazy with both happiness and utter disbelief at his behavior.
Com'on Baggins where's your party bones? Every one should have some Balotelli in their life from time to time.
Right I'm looking for 3 other thicko's to help me with the transportation, any volunteers?

Agree0 Disagree0

Is there another Balotelli? I can only think of that overrated self promoting douche that use to play for City?

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate, I'll carry him from the San siro to the emirates

Agree0 Disagree0

I have said before i'd love Ballotelli due to his "Cantona-esque" effect on the team. Yes he is bat s41t mental but he is also a genius on the football pitch on his day. He is still very young and has definitely matured. We've only heard about racism against him in his time with AC Milan. No drama. No red cards. Nothing.

I too would join G62 in carrying him from Heathrow. We only need two more people?

Agree0 Disagree0

You'd need to help carry him the amount of baggage that comes with that person

Agree0 Disagree0

So that's me Greeny and Saint on carrying duty! Who else will join us in our noble quest to diliver Stupid Mario, premier league tittle, champions league title and SOOOOOO much excitement to The Emirates?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hang on, would you vary Giroud the other way? It might sway my vote

Agree0 Disagree0

G62, I am also coming with you guys so that we can take MAD MARIO to emirates and along with the premier league tittle,
champions league title etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done Human mate, and so it begins we are four at last, ready willing and very able ( hope my back holds up) to play our part in brining mighty Mario and football dominance to its rightful place

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes just the nutter we have been looking for. Brilliance often does come with a pay off, but he has talent that would improve us.

reports Arsenal (both Ivan Gazidis and contract negotiator Dicky Law included in the delegation) in Madrid to negotiate with mystery player.

Ed, any truth and who is that player?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I hear Gareth Bale is looking for a new challenge.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe they are negotiating a deal for real madrid negotiator, zidane! Reports from Spain suggest zidane is prepared negotiate with zidane in order that zidane can leave the bernabao however zidane has heard about this and is ready to fire zidane for lack of loyalty to zidane. Zidane released a statement earlyer today declaring his wish to leave, meanwhile zidane has released a statement about zidane wanting to leave. Have I got nuts?

Agree0 Disagree0

Saint, are you talking about Zidane? Because your post is not very clear, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's like the onion Putin story

Talking about figo mate ;)

Hi eds,
With our obvious need for a defensive midfielder, there are plenty of players being linked with us, such as Bender, Schneiderlin, Javi Martinez and Gonolons. Is there a chance that Khedira would be available? He'd be perfect for us. Also, would Kondogbia be available?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Much less likely.}

My sons under 15s team cost nothing and won their league . Maybe that's the answer! Get his manager Trevor in for next season. That's it! I Don't know what we've been doing all this time . TREVOR! TREVOR TREVOR. LOL
