He's only using you as a stepping stone until Madrid come in for him next year Pinky boy.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2014 06:25:10
Come on lads you need to take the lemon out your months. Anyway u got jack. O wait! Wenger didn't need him. O wait

Agree0 Disagree0

Its funny though, chelsea fans and fabregas have one thing in common. They burst out of nowhere in 2004

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2014 10:48:38
You do relise saint that our 9 yrs before roman are more successful than your past 9. Dying club

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2014 12:42:49
Yeah but Pinky you have no style.

Abramovich has been there 11 years and sacked 11 managers.

He even sacked Roberto Do Matteo after winning the FA Cup and Champions League in 2012.

Out club mascot, Gunnersaurus, has more style than the whole of your club put together.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You perhaps would benefit from understanding a little better what happened with the managers before blurting out misleading information.

Dags he may have sacked umpteen managers but he got the results he wanted. League titles, European cups, domestic success, world class players.

Like you said we have better style but I would be lying if I didn't say that I envy their success over the last decade. Especially the Champions League I really thought we would be the first London club to bring that home.

Its banter Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Make it accurate then.}

Wheres Perky? Go play with him

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2014 14:27:47
Don't worry Pinky, Chelsea's reputation is world-wide. In fact you've just enhanced it.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2014 14:57:57
End, it was close enough.

Van Den Gunner, I agree.
To be honest, I posted last week that, in fairness to Abramovich, he was won 11 major honours as Chelsea owner.

He may sack managers but at least he backs them financially.

Sergio Aguero hat trick.

Best striker in the world?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For me ronnie, messy and the red dragon
Are in front for me. Then nick bentner.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Nov 2014 22:05:52
I'd swap Giroud, Welbeck, Podolski, Mertesacker, Flamini and Monreal for him plus £40 million and £1. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Id take sergio over suarez anyday. Just because he's got his head screwed on.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Nov 2014 23:08:06
He's one of my favourite players for sure

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2014 00:16:32
Thing about him though is that he tends to get a good amount of braces/hat tricks in a season but doesn't knock in a goal with the same regularity game by game as other strikers. Still WC though but I think it's that kind of thing that puts him 4th/5th and before RVP was as he is now 6th

Agree0 Disagree0

Sheeny goals per minutes he's best ever in the prem you can't argue with that. he's worth 100mill at least priceless for city I guess tho

Agree0 Disagree0

How much did city actually pay for him? 30-40mil?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2014 10:35:29
VDG,

£35m I believe mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Same price as Andy Carrol. Football is cray, cray, cray!

Agree0 Disagree0

38 million and 200k a week. he's not been cheap but worth evey penny I think. it was a major coup. they had tevez and aguero in the same team, how good is that both immense

Agree0 Disagree0

Derby he was most definitely worth every penny. That's the class of player I want us to aspire to some day.

One can dream!

Im thinking of holding a dinner party in honour of Paul 'Gazza' Gascoigne, who will be my special guest.

Ed007, do you want an invite? Lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Nah, you're fine, Dags, I'm rather picky with who I break bread with.}

25 Nov 2014 21:08:38
Lol Ed,

I know, I saw your earlier post regards Gazza.

For what its worth, I totally agree with your views.

I have a modicum of sympathy for the downtrodden, but none at all for those as privileged as Gazza, who throw their lives, and indeed their families lives away, all for the price of a pint.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Nov 2014 23:11:44
It annoys the hell out of me when I see Gazza labelled a 'legend' the guy is a waste of skin hell bent on throwing any help you give him firmly back in you're face.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah me and my mate raul will pop round for a pint or 8. Got the fishing rods?

Agree0 Disagree0

Our past was fantastic but it's done, the January window may or may not be fantastic but its to far away and yet to come.
In the here and now fantasy free with what we have at our disposal right now what can we do to prevent our self's being so predictable and easy to beat?
If you inherited the squad tomorrow morning and was given until December 31st to prove your self and be given the job full time how would you go about doing it

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think most people would have similar ideas, as to what they would do. Until I could sign someone, i'd have them in defensive training every day of the week and 5 nights. i'd put them all on the rack and stretch them, including bfg and chambers. i'd get them all on anabolic steroids to bulk them up a bit. I would get that macenna guy in for fear of losing therapy. i'd get bear grills in for survival techniques. Out would go the medical team and I'd bring in a witch doctor. i'd rough the Emirates up a bit to make it a bit more intimidating and smash all the windows in the away dressing room, so its bloody freezing before and after playing. i'd tear up their contracts and put them all on a win only bonus scheme. When we are top of the league in January i'd sell all the ones who didn't stand to the plate. Bring in a center back or two a def mid and a striker. May we will be treble wnners. And i'd be unveiling my statue next to den.

Agree0 Disagree0

Steve I'm with you all the way and you get my vote mate, just one question?
Why after all that are you going to leave us in May and go to Millwall?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its official.

Steve r worries me.

G62,
I would stop us from being so gung-ho.

I would play 4-4-2, with Giroud and Sanchez up front, Ox and Walcott out on the flanks.

I would involve Bouldy more and instruct the back 4 to stop playing such a high line.

Wilshere and Rambo in the middle, but instruct Wilshere to sit in front of defence and let Rambo get forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Nov 2014 23:14:03
I'd switch Giroud for Wellbeck Dags and I thinknyoud have a great team, Giroud hasn't got the pace or technical ability to compliment the likes of Sanchez and co

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2014 00:15:33
Fair point 1404,

I would still stick with Olly as he is slightly more clinical and brings more players into play.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Nov 2014 19:31:56
I think one of the biggest problems we have with the team at this moment is AW's blind faith in his players. Some of the players must think they are 'undroppable'. If this was any other club these players would be benched. I know we are short on numbers in defence but our midfield has been underperforming for months. We have Rosicky, Campbell and Podolski permanently on the bench and they must be so despondent at the moment with not getting any game time. Sir Chesney needs a kick up the backside constantly. He has all the tools to become a great keeper but he lacks concentration and makes stupid errors. Wenger needs to get tougher, tell the players that they are playing for their places and get this shambles of a team playing again. We do not lack quality - we lack discipline. As for his response to Usmanov today - well what did I expect. He doesn't listen to criticism. Well perhaps his players are following his example too! Shameful. Just man up, admit your mistakes and promise the fans that you will put it right. Peace out x

though I do seriously question arsenes tactics, he doesn't seem to plan any game differently or set up any differently to counter the given opponents strengths or weeknesses and I think it is time for a change to freshen things up as we seem to of stagnated in the grand scheme of things I feel arsene's main problem is that he is trying to be moral, sensible and sustain an economically viable business in a world filled with free spending short sighted lunatics . Does he stay and run the club how a club should be run, unfortunately sacrificing trophies and success or just borrow money the club hasn't got to buy success? I'd like wenger to win just one more league title purely for the morality of his philosophy, though an unlikely chance of this coming to pass.

Hello all, long time reader first time poster.

In an ideal world (realistic with out apparent funds) what positions and what players in those positions would everyone like us to buy?

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we need a new manager, the one we have has run out of ideas, or is not willing to change his tactics or how he sets the team up.

when swansea do a number and we struggle against anderlecht, then its time for wenger to wake up and clock out.

even if we turn it around and end up top 4, it has been abysmal season.

out of contention in 1 month.

if wilshere or ramsey or whoever it is wants to leave if wenger does, they can also go, I want players who can play their hearts out.

the player who seems to be giving it a 110% is a south american who probably knows 2 words in english.

they should build a statue for sanchez not only for running around trying for 90 mins but for being the guy to shoulder every responsibility.

the rest who want to play for their personal scores can take a hike.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can understand that Wenger is past his best and his naivety and stubbornness isn't helping the club to reach its heights of the invincible era. Who would you like to get to help replenish the squad from manager and players.

I'd love us to get Klopp in, get a defensive midfielder who is big and strong my pick would be Wanyama prem proven and still a young guy. We clearly need a new set of defenders, I'd love Clyne, Varne and maybe a new left back and another CB in the likes of Chiellini, Pique etc. I would love us to look at Reus but his injury record recently is quite intimidating. Striker wise, with Giroud back and IMO Welbeck as his understudy we should be fine, as I honestly think Giroud has the potential to score 20+ each season with someone to come on when he's shattered, that being said I wouldn't turn down a move for someone like Benzema. And finally, get Cech in, if rumours are thought to be true £7 million is a steal, probably still in the top 5 best keepers in world football and could teach Szczesny a thing or two. I would also 100000% sell Arteta, Flamini, Rosicky, Pod as much as I love the guys they are all past their best or deserve more playing time and won't get it with our ideal future set up.

It would be lovely to see us line up next season (as this seasons a write off already) like this:

*Cech

Debuchy, *Pique, Kos, Gibbs

*Wanyama Wilshere

Sanchez Ozil *Reus

*Benzema

With a sub bench of

Szczesny
*Clyne
*Varne
Mert
Monreal
Ox
Gnabry
Rambo
Theo
Welbeck
*Benzema

Kid can dream, aye?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldo, Messi, varane, pogba, Kroos muller

Paddy you have Wilshere in your dream team?? Unbelievable

I was just thinking. Not meaning to sound like I'm living in the past but can you imagine if it was the invincibles team playing that United team last weekend. They would've slaughtered them. Think that shows how backwards we have gone since

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We would've won 12 - 0.

Interesting piece in the current bun about spurs not giving gaza a ticket to watch them and wanting to charge him £60. We apparently have paid 50,000 sqids for two operations for him. What do people think.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Steve its sickening I think. i'd give him a job with the youth teams keep him busy it stops him drinking. but redknapp offered him that chance I think also. but if he doesn't help himself too hel be dead in few years

Agree0 Disagree0

At the end of the day guys there is only so much help we as in the football community can give Gazza. Growing up in Glasgow the guy was a hero to us all, gave money to the poor, helped out anyone in need and is a top bloke when he is sober. I'd love nothing more than to see him clean, healthy and pass on his unbelievable talent to the youth of today but if he can't attempt to help himself how many times can people give him handouts?

I know that may ruffle a few feathers here but it's my honest point of view.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes agree lads, it's sad to see a guy like him, going off the rails and spurs, shunning him. I suppose we don't know the whole story, but shows the class of arsenal as a 'football club' and spurs not.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Spurs were quite right, the guys a complete liability and there's no way he should be let near mixing with corporate sponsors let alone coaching kids. How the hell can you hold up a drug ravaged alcoholic wife-beater as a role model to kids? He only agreed to go into rehab in March 2013 as long as it was somewhere warm where he could get a tan, he's go no interest in helping himself and just like every other bum on the street it's always everybody else's fault, and that's what he is a bum, the only difference between him and the guys who sell the Big Issue are that people are still falling for his BS and trying to help him. There comes a point when you have to wash your hands of helping people who don't want to be helped, maybe Spurs have had enough of hm, I know I have.
He might have been a hero to you Van der Gunner but don't judge all Glaswegians by your own gutter levels, we've already got Rab C Nesbitt as our 'celebrity jakey', we don't need another one and any man that lifts his hands to a woman is a scumbag, plain and simple he's the lowest of the low.
I can't believe some people are actually using this to point score over Spurs, Spurs have came out of this looking a lot better than Arsenal have. Would you all feel sorry for someone next door to you who kept getting bladdered and knocked his Mrs about?}

Harry Redknapp has publicly told Gazza that he is welcome to join the QPR staff a number of times so I don't know how much can be done for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed 07 I suspect you feel the same about george best and alex higgins. They were all entertainers and a joy to watch, but like a lot of people, the booze got the better of them. Still class to watch. Your opinion is respecred, but I disagree about the spurs comment, they have no class.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The more people bail him out the more he doesn't have to take responsibility or his own actions. Gazza made a lot of money from football and has pissed it all up a wall, until he decides to sort himself out he deserves everything he gets, nobody owes him a thing. I've got no time and no sympathy for alcoholic wife beaters who blame everyone else for their problems and quite happily use people for what they can get out of them. The booze only gets the better of you if you let it, nobody forces anyone to drink, just like nobody forces a smackhead to to jag themselves.
Spurs showed their class by not letting a bum into their ground, would you be happy to be sat next to a drunken idiot slevering in your ear?}

Don't hold back 007, say what you feel :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That was me being nice.}

Its all been taken back. Spurs did not make i'm pay and have helped towards his treatment.

We know how the story ends soon tho

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed,

Just out of interest did we have any contact with Lukaku or Bony over the summer or was Welbeck always in our tnoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There was interest in Bony.}

Welbeck was panic buy. bony would of been an immense buy

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ed. I miss the days when we had an out and out goalscorer like Henry or Wrighty who would net 30+ a season.

Will we ever get another viper in front of goal like that in the future or are the days of the more rounded players like Giroud and Welbeck the way forward?

Agree0 Disagree0

Van persie pops to mind, three seasons ago

Yeah I'll give you that Saint.

dont know if I want to get up at 3.30 in the morning and watch the Dortmund game. Still heartbroken over Saturday's result. But even if I do, it will be to watch that magnificent specimen of a player, Alexis Sanchez

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Nov 2014 07:39:21
Ed001 on today's poll on the Dortmund result is possible to add a ( I just don't know what to think anymore option:-)
I went to say yes but then thought again and the same with the no option and then became so frustrated and confused the only thing left to do was throw the cat from its happy postion curled up on the chair out into the Frost morning outside, so for poor Tarquins sake would this option be possible :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - we are intending to make changes to the polls of the day soon mate, just when Ed033 has time. They will be going away from just yes or no then, but I doubt it will be any day soon though, his to do list is extremely lengthy! But eventually you will get more options to choose between in future.}

Thanks Ed its not really that important to be honest, its the wife's cat and I ain't that keen non it anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - oh well in that case I will cross it off the to do list.....}

Its been reported an Arsenal fan left the ground early and in tears after taking a few shots at Wenger, he has been a supporter for 45 years.

Which one of you was it then ;-))

It was dags. he is finally wenger out and I think it got abit to much for him. he was last seen being shoved into a police car screaming DERBY GOONER i'm SORRY YOU WERE RIGHT lol
