I've watched a lot of his games at Celtic, i said last year we should have bought him, he'd also have solved the dm cover position when Coq is out as he's good enough to play in the middle.

Sherwood sacked.

Crap manager :-)

{Ed025's Note - you were told dags but you just dont listen...i bet you heard that a lot at school.. :)

25 Oct 2015 20:47:53
He didn't go to school x :)

{Ed025's Note - he did BG..but it was an approved one mate.. :)

It's a job no one can succeed in. Benteke kept them up for few years. There owner wants to keep them up with minimal spend.

Howard Kendal RIP
In the eighties, Everton were always, and remain a bit of a second team for me. One moment stands out that I don't know if others will remember.
Kevin Sheedy hit a typical free kick, think it was FA cup against Ipswich. He curled it in the corner, then, after it was disallowed for some reason, he calmly stepped up and curled it in the other corner. Yer that was pretty awesome.

Klopp has got a huge task on his hand, that Liverpool side is a very average side.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Oct 2015 18:21:12
Liverpool fan here. Have to agree with you . As much as we try to prove to the contrary there are some very average players in our side. Just goes to show how much Rodgers destroyed our team.

P. s dags you sad now that Sherwood got sacked? 😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 18:41:47
I've said it before, they cannot finish top 4 with that side regardless of who is manager.

25 Oct 2015 20:12:30
Lol Reet, just a bit mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 21:29:06
For the sakes of chipping on Liverpool reetred. You do have some average player imo, but you don't have a bad grounding. Clyne and that young left back chap, Jordan ibe etc are good to move forward with.
Mini let simply isn't good enough to be playing at the level you guys want to be at, but I think milner and Henderson are hard working players, who under Klopp will excel.

Klopp is the best signing you've made in 5 years imo. Surrey gave you goals Klopp has the charisma to bring you a proper philosophy again and build on what you have.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 21:52:37
I think Liverpool are in with a shout for 4th the way Chelsea are playing. That said I agree they have a very average squad, can't think of any that'd go in our starting 11 (bar sturridge if he was ever fit) and only a couple more I'd want in our squad (lucas, coutinho, sakho, any others? .
Disagree with gav about clyne, think he's awful and out of his depth at liverpool, just benefited from southamptons defensive approach. But with Klopp there I have faith in yous to improve and put in a proper challenge for top 4 next year if you fall short this.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Oct 2015 00:17:07
No offense gav but i can't for the life of me understand what everyone sees in clyne every week all i see is a vastly overrated player always caught out of position.

Man management at its best.
How do you think Wenger should treat the boys if they beat Swansea?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - give the lads a video of liverpools defence...you know how the french love snails.. :)

25 Oct 2015 20:28:20
Haha, love it Ed.

Last week I saw Martin Skrtel stamp on a snail.
"What did you do that for? " I asked.
"He's just a poor defenceless creature".
"Yeah I know", he said, " But he's been following me around pitch all day".

Raver,
Did Spurs play today?
Hold on, let me just check the comedy channel.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 16:54:32
Raver if he keeps doing that he won't be a spurs player long. It obviously a stepping stone for him to a big club, who might finish in the top four. Enjoy him while you can. By the way if look right up to the top of the table, don't strain your neck too much, I know you don't know it goes that high, you will see us.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 16:19:48
Not a bad result for City, given that based on De Bruyne's performance, they effectively played the entire game with ten men.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 16:21:38
Not going to complain with that outcome. Neither team had a shot on target till 85 mins in. 90 minutes of my life I won't get back. United for the home side were so poor and Rooney really is crap with a capital C. They are wasting that Martial on the wing to accommodate Chunk up front. Long may it continue to be fair.

Where you disappointed neither Bony nor De Bruyne played? ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 19:28:11
10 men. Yaya was a joke and Rooney was in otamendi pocket. Poor game and the title is very much on. I thought at the start we have no chance but I was very wrong

Wanyama in Jan and we push on :)

We've been here before mate and I'm not 100% convinced simply because we have been here so many times, but its getting more and more difficult to keep myself from thinking this time it's different this time we won't fade away and come next May we will be in the mix.
Mesut Sanchez Le Coq Cech Caz Kos Monreal Belerin I'm running out of reasons to think no way Frederico.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 21:22:10
Wanyama is solid. Impressed me what I saw today. Didn't want full game. Him and classie will form a good partnership. He also is better on the ball than people make out.

25 Oct 2015 10:56:35
Really interesting to hear Jack Wilshere say this morning that his favoured position at Arsenal would be playing as one of the two in front of the defence.

If he can put the injuries behind him I could see him as the natural successor to Cazorla in that role.

He has an eye for a pass, a great engine and was getting in amongst the goals.

It may also in a way protect him from the injuries he picks up as an attacking mid.

Is it a good option/possibility?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he could do a good job there red dog, but let's be honest he's no cazorla ls he mate, he for me is a really good squad player but not a regular starter..

25 Oct 2015 11:35:59
For me he would only be ever be one tackle from a long lay off through injury plus we couldn't afford for him to stand hands on hips and gaze at the ref when he lost the ball he'd need to up his game mentally as well as stay injury free.
As Ed says from the bench he can be a useful addition as a squad player but the odds keep getting longer and years fewer for Jack to ever reach the heights he and we all once dreamed of.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 13:05:36
Spot on 62

A bench player seems more likely and too true ED he is no Cazorla.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 14:46:00
Can't disagree with any of that really, they were showing some of his best clips and he was pretty special then in my opinion. If he can stay injury free, big if, who knows.

Cazorla is my current favourite and yep, a long way to go to catch up with him, not sure there is a better player in Caz's position out there right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 15:46:02
My favourite player is Le Coq because of what he does for us and how brilliantly simple he goes about doing it.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 16:40:25
I like Jack, but think he plays better in an England shirt than an Arsenal one.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 17:46:21
Guys guys don't start giving the average card for Jackie boy. He's the number 1 gunner when fit only player who would and does put his body on the line.

{Ed025's Note - unfortunately that body is smoke damaged.. :)

25 Oct 2015 10:04:29
Another Satisfying Performance yesterday Against a good Everton side
Am starting to get a little excited about our chances ( in my opinion City aren't that much better than Us or United ) and i feel like we are to improve further. Special mention to Mesut Ozil, but the best Arsenal Player of 2015 for me has been Nacho Monreal what a player and so underrated.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Oct 2015 10:22:29
With 7 months left of the season it's for me to early to get excited about our title prospects but currently loving everything about the team.

The hard yards are yet to be done and into January will give us the first indication of how we really stand.

Our biggest hurdle right now is injuries and being able to rotate and rest the vital players up until that time. We have to hope the medical team and Shad can work some magic.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 10:29:16
Totally agree Monreal is excellent and like Le Coq and Berlin is every bit as important to us as Kos Mesut and Sanchez.
If anyone is going to chase city to the title its us IMO, Chelsea are done and dusted beyond a top 4 finish now and utd aren't ready yet to put in a sustained title bid so its either city at a stroll or us and city.
City have more depth but they also struggle without birthday boy and Kompany being available every week and obviously Aguero is big miss but they can score without him, just obviously not as easily or as often.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 11:56:56
Good post 'Call me positive'.
I wonder if that's Steve's new profile?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - I'm expecting the results on Steve,s positivity back from the lab any day now dags.. :)

25 Oct 2015 12:57:34
I have to agree with red dog, i'm enjoying the moment but, i still have to be convinced that when the going gets tough in march, we are ready for that. Man city have proved they can do it, their players know what to do. Still many questions to be answered about our club/ manager / team. We are giving ourselves a platform at the moment and that's great.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 16:05:22

Agree Red, I want distance between us and Utd,

What I will say is, I am starting to take notice of WHU, thet have beaten top sides, they could well be a surprise top 5 or 6 side.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Oct 2015 08:42:18
West Ham have won away at us Liverpool city and now at home to Chelsea few will match that achievement this or any other season, very impressive.
Personally I see a battle with utd as a battle for 2nd or 3rd place so I'd rather set my sights on being above city on level games because their the ones to beat if we are to be champions.
2nd or 3rd who cares but 1st or 2nd now that's a battle we've all been dreaming of for in being involved in for over a decade now.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - they are doing very well G62 but they won't end up near the top 4 mate because....well they are west ham.. :)

25 Oct 2015 09:01:27
Not top 4 ED but Bilic has given them a belief don't foregt they have got some very difficult fixtures out of the way, yes they are all difficult but they have got points from fixtures that weren't even on their radar.

Take your point 62 but going on the start of the season we have the ability to get 4 points off City this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 09:08:40
Totally agree Ed they will be this seaons Southampton, West hams bubbles always burst and fortune will continue to hide from them beyond Thursday night football level at best.
So who will finish 4th? That's the real question?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2015 09:45:29
In don't disagree Banbury mate so let's get some distance between us and city and leave utd to fight out the 3rd place spot on their own.
The 3rd and 4th place battle for champions league qualification? We've been there done that and worn that T shirt so often it's falling to bits.
Chelsea have left a void for someone to fill and that someone has to be us, 3rd or 4th? That's just so last year! And the year before that and so on and on, its time for the bridesmaids to up their game and start throwing instead of continually catching the a few bouquets :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

After the game against Munich you cannot underestimate how good a result that was yesterday. It's so easy to slip up in those games and is again showing how this group of players is growing together. So much hard work to go with an immense amount of talent.

It's difficult not to get excited about how as a whole and individually they are developing, all of them just seem to be upping their respective games.

I want to pick a favourite and it's almost impossible, but I'm loving watching Cazorla, he must have heard what Gary Neville said about him and Coquelin because he has been amazing, his defensive stats are incredible let alone what he brings going forward.

To pick him above what some of the others are doing is almost unfair, SY4 spoke of Bellerin and Monreal because they are becoming so good. Koscielny pretty much had Lukaku on toast and Gabriel's celebration said everything I needed to know about the mentality of the group. Loved Wengers comment that he rather watch Ozil play again than talk about him too.

Having said all that we have yet to reach November and with 4 important absentees rest and rotation is going to be key. Sanchez has to sit out Tuesday night completely with either Ozil and or Cazorla. Not sure how Chamberlain is as he seemed to pull up with cramp right before he was subbed. Iwobi and a couple of other academy guys need to be used. I saw that Bielik was training with the 1st team this week, he has been playing CB for their team. It's a shame Rene-Adelaide is at the U17 World Cup.

The big thing is we are in it and City are not running away with it, we just need to stay as close to them as possible until the injured guys get back. I'm not sure what result I want today, a city win would put distance between the two of us and the chasing pack, which is always good but no idea which way it will go. Depends I guess which City turn up.

All in all its a great start to the season but no real resting on any laurels as its Swansea, Munich and the Spuds on the Horizon.

Just enjoying the moment and a great week.

do we want a draw today to keep us on top or a City win to start putting daylight between us and Utd.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Utd will drop more points than City for remainder of season, so a draw or a Utd win today would suit us better.

25 Oct 2015 07:52:20
Just posted that a City win would be my preference as its early days but let's get as much distance from the rest as is possible.

Solid win last night against a decent Everton team and having to cope with the exertions of playing Bayern midweek.
Hopefully, we can keep the good form going until we get our long term injured players back. I was a bit concerned with the form and attitude of Oxlade yesterday. Perhaps he just needs to get a run of games. I wish he would work as hard as Sanchez. In the lead up to the goal, he gave away possession and althogh he ran back, he didn't appear to hassle Barkley sufiifciently to stop him from shooting.

Did Flamini come on to tighten things up at the back?

Has the world gone Ozil crazy? He's been great for a while to be honest but I think the solid back 6 plus pace in front of him, a pre season and playing in the middle has transformed him for us.

We are truly benefiting from have a solid back line, an experienced squad plus the recent world class additions in Cech, Sanchez and Ozil.

Another huge plus has been the fullbacks as they have been our Achilles heel for one reason or another over the past few years but Bellerin and Nacho look a great pair. Bellerin did get caught for the goal but Ox made a real bad decision leading to the counter and never really busted a gut to get back.

Exciting times and a great squad :)
