Red Dog,
Nice clip you put up of Ozil giving his shirt to the kid.

But, did you see the kid?

He's a ringer of Ozil.

I reckon that was his Son.

Something smells fishy :-)

{Ed025's Note - maybe the lad was from grimsby?.. :)

25 Sep 2016 23:17:56
You could be on to something there Ed :-)

Thanks dags and 62, I didn't think it had gone up and just found it again on page 2 but the kid looks way to excited to have been connected to him.

Another thing I noticed was Elneny and big Mert in their suits, hadn't even realised Elneny never made the match day squad. What with Ramsey, Mert and Welbeck to return we are going to have some options.

Also thanks to which ever ed put the clip up, much appreciated. 😁.

Raver, Yes
you are ahead of us now, like last year, till the last game, and I know you won't know this because you haven't won anything for some years. But you don't get nothing for being in front, till the last game.
Raver spurs are the pace setters, for the big boys,
Whilst having a meal out in London I did bump into Son heung-min. Nice chap came over to speak to me, i only shouted waiter. lol.

Any news on Coq?

Huge positives from yesterday all over the pitch as well as attitude and discipline.

In truth, we should have won by 5 but very happy we showed maturity and shut up shop.

Great to see Costa getting frustrated as Kos and Mustafi keep him warm in their back pocket. Bellerin looks to be back and Nacho ( except for a 10 minute disappearing act) looks to be back.

Thought we bossed midfield ( sorry Steve but Kante does not look like the player we should have signed ) with energy, forward passing and great hunger. Love the way Granit turns defence into attack so easily and quickly. We bullied them - bloody awesome.

Attack was great - Iwobi ( well done Wenger for having the confidence to play him where others would try to sign stars ) was awesome again, Theo has worked out what's needed and put a great shift in and Sanchez played great up front.

Loved the game - Mustafi and Kos are forming a good partnership. Nice to see that AW can sign centrehalves! Good to see Holding and Per in reserves.

We now need to stampede through October and build on the momentum. I want to see us play City as I see weaknesses in their side and want to see how we deal with them plus see how City play against us!

Lots to be excited about but nothing to get carried away with.

Lastly Tommy Langley - please compare you medal talley with Ozil before you tell me he ain't world class. Chelsea didn't know European football existed until a certain Russian ploughed 1bn into the club.

COYG!

Im not starting a futile debate but kante was the best central midfielder in the league last year, he didn't have a bad game yesterday and he would have been a great signing. If you don't think he's a good player you are either totally biased or blind. But he's not our player so its not worth debating. The rest of your post i agree with.

Sy i know you are biased, so i know your judgement is clouded, that is not an insult by the way.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Sep 2016 17:58:59
Good post SY. Pretty much nailed it. The defense is starting to look like a solid unit and Mustafi goes about his business in an excellent manner. I was a bit bemused at AW after not signing a big name striker then looking like he wasn't going with Giroud as first choice. I wasn't convinced about Sanchez up front but it is coming together and this has obviously been key to allowing Iwobi to take his place on the flank. Similar to Liverpool with Firminho up front we are looking very fluid with speed and movement and a front 4 who can interchange at will.
BTW the one touch exchange between Ozil and Iwobi leading up to the Walcott goal is sublime. I can't stop watching it.

25 Sep 2016 18:31:21
Xhaka is definitely 10 times better than that bag of crap Kante Steve. Your propper of you head mate. Coyg.

Agree4 Disagree2

25 Sep 2016 18:35:57
I would have taken xhaka over kante . I must admit I do like Le coq but he will miss games for rash challenges.
Walcott for me was the best player yesterday. Showed desire, like I never knew he had.

Agree3 Disagree2

25 Sep 2016 18:49:38
Your all biased lol. Welsh how many games has coq missed through rash challenges, you keep saying that and you have never been backed up.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Sep 2016 18:54:48
Welsh your call coq rash and then you say xhaka. If you watch the games the one player who can't tackle is xhaka. His foul and red card record in the german league was the highest of all. don't back arsenal for the prem for everyones sake, please.

Agree2 Disagree1

25 Sep 2016 19:11:43
If any one of our midfield tops the tackles made tally, interseptions made tally, distance covered tally like kante did last year then i stand corrected and i hope they do because that's what win leagues.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - if Chelsea used Kante right, instead of shackling him into a holding role, they would be a much better team. Pointless having a midfielder whose main strength is getting around the pitch and pressuring the opposition, if you then make him hold in a small area of the pitch. Conte is useless tactically, he has no idea how to use players to their best at all.}

25 Sep 2016 19:26:09
Agree Ed last season everyone thought there was two of Kante now he only looks like half the player at Chelsea.
Xhaka better than Kante :-) based on a few part games and a couple of fantastic goals v an entire season of being head and shoulders the best MF player in the premier league and helping your team against all odds win the title :-) now for the Perez v Aguero debate :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Sep 2016 19:51:33
Agree totally gunner, if xhaka has a season like kante we will all be happy. We will answer that in may.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Sep 2016 19:56:32
Ed 01 i don't think one or two players can cover the errors made by chelsea in the transfer window or on the pitch. Buying the bionic hair was bizarre, matic, ivanovitc, cahill and fabrigas look lost or over the hill. And tactically they look all at sea.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Sep 2016 19:57:36
You two are mental . Xhaka is so much better. What are you smoking.

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Sep 2016 20:13:09
Since arriving in the Premier League Kante has only been on the losing side 5 times, 3 of those against Arsenal. 😉.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Sep 2016 20:57:52
Both are good midfielders but as Keown stated and a number on this site - Granit appears to fit better into our needs for someone to sit in front of the back 4 and have a great passing range which turns defence into attack very quickly.

If we wanted a box 2 box then I would have wanted Kante but I don't think we needed that and I was saying that when we were linked with Kante and looked favourites.

Not biased just my honest opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Sep 2016 21:34:51
I think that's a fair post SY mate, Steve I'm with you on being proven wrong come next May, if Xhaka has half the season for us this season as Kante had for Leicester last season we won't be too far away at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Sep 2016 21:52:23
Lovely fact red dog and that means our midfields have nullified and out played him. Thus winning the argument that ours before and now xhaka are better than kante paly won't play lol.

As a person who has been critical of our team and Arsene Wenger recently. I would like to say it was such a pleasure to see us compete for every ball and play as a unit. It was so nice to beat chelski but even if we had not got such a great result you could see we now have a real belief in each other and ourselves. Well done lads. Come On You Gooners.

For far too long the Emirates crowd had nothing to sing about

It shows when the team put in a performance the fans will go mental

It's up to Wenger and the team to give us supporters more of the same

Well done boys.

Now the hard work really starts mate, we've been here a few times before, inspired by a one off performance.

The difference to me appears to be the mental attitude, Koscielny and Mustafi along with Coquelin have this you shall not pass attitude, look what it's doing for the rest, for all the great football and goals it is often little things like Bellerins lightening cover tackle that also inspires team mates.

Theo's willingness to follow Sanchez's example and use his speed going backward as well as forward is another.

Wenger now has to ensure that this exact team attitude goes out onto the pitch against everyone, from Burnley (no offence) to Barcelona.

We love it if our players show the same desire to play for our team as we do to support our team.

Agree3 Disagree0

25 Sep 2016 12:37:27
Good post Malaga. I'm really really liking the kostufi partnership. For me it also brings out the best in kos as he isn't covering his partner at times during the game. And mustafi isn't afraid to run and put a tackle in exactly like kos does. They could go a long way to helping us compete.

Agree3 Disagree0

25 Sep 2016 12:43:07
Totally agree the mentality has been our biggest weakness in seasons gone by.
Big question is Aaron Ramsey, What happens when he's fit?
Will Arsene insist on playing him on the right?
Aaron is an excellent player but surely his strengths are in the positions currently occupied by Caz and Mesut not by Theo or Iwobi, its not always about getting your best 11 players on the pitch at the same time but putting your best team out there and the two things don't always go hand in hand imo.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Sep 2016 13:01:01
Mustafi appears more mobile and fearless compared to mert and is more aware than gab. Appears to be communicating well with kos and both covered costa when the other was elsewhere. Liked the little shove that kos gave costa then just ran off knowing it would make him explode.

His attitude after the game impressed me most Dags, I've seen him have good games before but never have I heard him talk more sense.
The breaking up of the cosy club by letting Arteta Rosicky Flamini and most significantly Jack go plus brining in Mustafi who will reduce the likeable but annually under achieving Gabriel and Mertesacker to the bench at best may have had a positive affect on Theo and may be some others too, let's hope so.
Time for change? Maybe that change has already begun.

I see you having a go at us early on
You say arsenal players are getting carried away.
Well only last week I saw Harry Kane getting carried away so don't start that. lol
You also said we didn't win nothing,
Well we did get a medal for the runners up
What have you lot won my old mate, and don't mention that xmas raffle again,
Please don't mention yourselves in the likes of the big boys,
Google Tottenham, it comes up with riots
Google Arsenal it comes up with invincibles.
