Just had a perusal on the Moan Utd page.

They are a happy bunch today.

Aahh, how lovely to sign players nice and early.

Take note Arsene.

Ok, going to try and play Devils Advocate here.

seeing as Suarez was playing for Uruguay, do you think he should be banned from Prem League too?

Is it double punishment?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's the third time he's gone on the pitch hungry, three strike rule, should have been longer, because he misses a lot of games but none against us lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Dags wake up it's liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he either has to be banned for life or make him wear a mussle to protect everyone. These bans are not going to stop him at all he will bite again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but as the Americans say 3 strikes and your out.

I think he is such a great player but he is acting like child syndrome.

If he punched people a tleast that would show some matureness, but he bites like an adolescent that can't get his own way.

3 times for me is out give him a bigger ban then he has got because he is laugthing at this like he has the previouse 2 bans.

Such a waste for such a great player, I just hope he reliases how much he has screwed his team m8's and there chances in the WC,

I for one will not be supporting Uruguay now.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2014 00:12:46
Hear what you are saying mate but, what if it was Thierry (whilst at Arsenal), and he bit somebody whilst playing for France?

Would you be happy he will now miss the first 4 months of Arsenal's Prem League campaign?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The other matter has gone away DG - I know it wasn't meant as it came across, but let's be a little bit careful.}

27 Jun 2014 00:17:24
Lol fair point Maids

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2014 00:38:25
No problem 002,

Fairplay and apologies again.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No need to apologise, the BJ was enough.}

Sorry dags one joke it is lol

26 Jun 2014 23:09:24
Anyone else impressed with Omar Gonzalez of USA in the match against Germany at tea-time. Aged 25, 6 ft 5 inches with a great turn of pace, he would be an excellent replacement for TV5. Furthermore his MLS salary at present is approx. £1 million a year. Assume any transfer fee would be in proportion. Keep an eye on him in the next match.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - there are lots of these one game wonders hitting the headlines smartie, leroy fer got a mention the other day, and hes as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike mate..

26 Jun 2014 23:22:01
Yep, about as useful as a handbrake on a speedboat.

Maidstone,

1 joke per day unless you are Dags or Ed025, lol.

I'm waving an imaginary yellow card at you.

only joking mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Easy to judge but let's face it USA as well as Belgium were the dark horses for this WC and they have so far done more then England.

I will judge it when it is over but I for one think the USA look very good especially defensively.

Dont think he has been by far there best defensive player tho, and tbh if the money was in my pocket there are others I would choose 1st.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2014 00:13:31
As useful as dags at stand up comedy:)

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2014 00:42:07
Ouch MgM,

You too are looking at Dags imaginary yellow card.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest USA are better than us as a team, as for that player I was half drunk watching it and can hardly remember earlier I only remember one tacke he did and it was was good but just joining in the fun lol

Besides all the news doing the rounds of Ander Herrera, a great buy for Utd, and shaw on some crazy salary, another solid buy for a fee many feel is overpriced, for me its 3 mill per season if he ends up playing for 10 years at utd.

im really not sure what arsenal are doing, besides pics of wenger enjoying a kick about on a beach in brazil with some chicks, I have no other info, atleast let the man enjoy his world cup trip eh. he better have something better than dags mate remy up his sleeve.

Reports now state that Barcelona are trying to get Suarez on the cheap, since when does 50 mill become cheap? well when your more than a club, and at barca suarez will be more than that indeed.

I was under the impression Arsenal did not stand a chance with Marco Reus mainly due to the barcelona interest, surely if Suarez is heading to form some sort of crazy frontline for barca, then reus is free to our advances.

Theres always Manchester United throwing their money around, but if we manage to knab Khedira/lars bender its more likely we will end up atleast convincing reus to give us a look if not join us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry but how many times have you watched Ander Herrera to declare him a great signing - he's ok and might get better but he wasn't great last season - high average at best.

Good post mate

It is worrying, seeing all our rivals 'signing' players post-transfer window.

Have also heard PSG favourites to sign Griezman, so that could be another player off our wish list.

26 Jun 2014 22:47:49
who is the better player bendner, sonogo or park
Lol what a strike force we once had and did not use

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - curly, larry and mo had nothing on them 3 mate..

You missed out Bentdner. How could you. With them 4 we surely had the best strike force in the world.

I'm calling it all media before the end of the week especially that manonside web site that we are about to sign origi from Lille who myself and most people didn't even know before he played for Belgium. I'm with dags I like remy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - origi is going to liverpool i hear MG...and agreeing with dags is banned on this site mate.. :)

26 Jun 2014 22:59:29
Maidstone,

you have just achieved legendary status on this site mate.
Stick with me fella, the futures bright, the futures Remy.

And take no notice of Ed025, he's just bitter because we finished 4th.

(come on Ed, you deserved that one, lol).

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i do have a delete button, and a ban button you know dags, its a good job i like you mate.. :)

26 Jun 2014 23:31:36

Some nice posts lads, dags some quality stuff. Lol. Just wandering does anyone else think that Kevin mirallas would be a great signing for one of the top four clubs, personally I'd live him at arsenal. Just saying like. Proper smooth operator I think.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i watch a lot of him wolvo, and although he has bags of ability, he is very hit and miss mate..

26 Jun 2014 23:04:04
Thanks Volvo.

My middle name is quality.
Unfortunately, my first name is poor.

Mirallas? Agree with Ed on that one. Terrific on his day, decent squad player at best.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mirallis? Decent squad player for a top team maybe but I think he's like Remy not good enough to play regular for a top team! ( see I manged to upset Dags and Ed25 in one go there )

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2014 22:14:31
Dags and ed025,

Would you say you were the Morcambe and Wise of this page or Little and Large, maybe the Chuckle Brothers, what about Cannon and Ball or even Ant and Dec?

And who is the funny one and who is the straight one. ;-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hello. Gooner community, a slightly indiscreet connection told me to expect this:
Goalkeeper - undecided
Right back - Debuchy
Def midfielder - Lars Bender or Khedira
Wide - Jefferson Montero if Angel DI Maria cannot be prized away ( no 1 target)
Forward - Remy or Hernandez and Campbell added.

Arteta to Newcastle
Sanogo to Leicester

Does this ring true or. ?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jun 2014 22:21:02
Yes to all of the above except Hernandez.

26 Jun 2014 20:45:28
Man Utd splash £60m on two players. One an untried (in England) Spanish youngster and another a massively over priced 18yr old left back.

Chelsea have signed Cesc Fabregas and have Courtois coming back along with Zouma.

Man City have sealed Fernando and Sagna.

Arsenal? Well ok we've not signed anyone but we've finally released Lord Bendtner and Park Chu Young!

Cheer up fellow gooners!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jun 2014 21:08:50
Greeny,

You are full of cheer mate, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2014 21:33:22
Greeny don't forget United still have to release, Fellaini, Nani, Young, Fletcher, Carrick, Cleverley, Welbeck, Rafael, Smalling, Bebe, Anderson, Evra and Sloth from the Goonies.

So it ain't all bad. Lol. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2014 21:42:46
Love it Jenjen

Agree0 Disagree0

I like your optimism Jen! The way I see it, Wenger is clearing the deadwood for a big signing.

Let's be positive. Bendtner, Sagna and Fabianski were on £150k a week between them! That's the wages for a top player right there.

Plus, Sagna as a right back has also annoyed me playing with number 3 and not number 2! Give 3 to Gibbs!

Dags, I'm always cheerful mate. Glass half full kinda guy! Not like g62 who's propping up the bar with empties shouting and swearing at passing flies.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've got this horrible feeling Arsene is going to replace Betner very very soon and at the same time make Dags very very happy. Maybe its just that end of week feeling and I'm feeling tired and a bit pessimistic but I can feel his arrival closing in on me

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2014 22:18:15
This is for you, my good mate G62.

26 Jun 2014 22:19:23
Me too Greeny but I'm thinking two big signings. Stay strong g62, one of them isn't he whose name I can't mention in front of Dags. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Jenny I now feel strong enough face tomorrow with at least some hope of a him free life.

Agree0 Disagree0

Greeny if I took my empties back I could buy us a good dmf and half a wide man, Arsene and the Dagala have driven me down this road with all this talk of and links to HIM

Hi all been reading your stuff for a while realy like your site decided to join.
Are we actually interested in sanchez realy hope we are he's ideal I prefer him to either benzema or di Maria I think sanchez is exactly what we need an alternative to girouds power. Realy got got a good feeling that wenger has some big signings up his sleeve after not taking cesc or vela back. So exited what wengers bringing us back from hols.

Word of warning, don't get your hopes up too high as Mr Wenger has a habit of letting us down.

Lets hope this Transfer window will be different.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's hope it'll be different!

Hey MG and welcome.

Altho I would'nt say no I think I would prefer Di Maria as for me he is more proven as a player at top level over the past few years. As I said though that's just me =]

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I just posted something similar. Is this the calm before a big PR puma kit release party or is this the unnerving silence before a last minute trolley dash for an 18yr old French 3rd division kit mans assistant and a new tea lady!

watching Mesuts movement playing with Germany and us it looks like the rest of our players are being told to always provide an outlet or a shorter pass;
so he doesn't have to work as hard to drive into space and pass to players trying to get INTO space.

it makes him look lazier and looking for the easy pass sometimes, but we're catering to that need because at Madrid and in the German team it's filled with class players who can easily get into a position where they're in space, or able to always receive and make space for themselves/provide a pass,

sadly we don't have AS many players who can do that at the moment, the ones I can think of are all players without that extra drive to do something special, and beat a man or make a great run, Ramsey is an exception, players like Wilshere/Santi/Rosicky/Podolski/Walcott/Oxlade. (some of these players can do it but not often ENOUGH)

where if he makes the pass it's great we're in a better position and could score etc etc; but if he doesn't we're backpedaling because only Arteta and maybe one/both our flank players is back to chase properly, both fullbacks high up the pitch, so we're pressed into a small area too

if we had another midfielder to replace Arteta who doesn't have to be any quicker but can always be in a good position to receive the ball when no other passes are on for an attacking opportunity and then can FIND Mesut again or another good passer, that would be beneficial to the team and probably more so for Mesut,

so IMO we'll never get a true defensive midfielder, someone who will never contribute to an attack, just to clean up and maybe be a bounce pass back to someone,
but we need someone who is also capable of making a good pass into his own hands and not rely on a ball back to defence or a sidepass to draw everyone back from an attacking position to defend,

if we did have a true defending midfielder who doesn't take any sh*t and sticks to only defending etc etc, we'd lose an option to pass to for our attacking players, meaning less time on the ball, one person less to mark for the other team/more time for them to set up and check any runs and close down,

i think we'll end up with a player a lot like Zelalem in terms or calmness on the ball and ability to pick a pass from deep, while attacking or defending

just voicing something I took notice of,
football is amazing, I would love to see stats and tactic analysis compared to what the manager actually wants to achieve

A few weeks back I wrote a post about his Wilshere needs to knuckle down and get on with his football, since England's dismal exit from the World Cup, he's said this;

Jack Wilshere has offered the frank admission that “time is running out” for him to make his mark both at Arsenal and in the England side, with the midfielder conceding he must maintain form and fitness in the campaign ahead if he is finally to fulfil his considerable potential.

The Londoner’s career has been stop-start over recent seasons courtesy of a series of untimely injuries, most notably to his ankles but also, back in March, a hairline fracture of his left foot sustained in England’s friendly against Denmark. Wilshere has started only two games since then, his country’s friendly against Ecuador in Miami and Tuesday’s final group game against Costa Rica in Belo Horizonte, with the midfielder’s frustration clear.

He returned home with Roy Hodgson’s crestfallen squad on Wednesday determined to prove his worth next term and justify the rave reviews that saw him first capped at 18 in the aftermath of the 2010 World Cup. Yet, while much has been made of the youthful quality of the current England squad, Wilshere is unconvinced he qualifies as a player of promise any more. “It’s easy for me to stand here and say: ‘We’re young, we can go forward, ’” he said. “But if you look at Germany, a team like that, they’ve got young players who are delivering now.

“Time is running out for us to say we’re young any more. I’m 22. Ross [Barkley], Luke [Shaw] and Raheem [Sterling] are young players. They showed in the tournament what they can do. But in the next tournament, we really have to deliver. I think it is [a big year for me]. I’m not young any more. I’m going to be 23 in January and that’s a good age for a footballer. It’s a big season for me, it’s a big season for Arsenal. But at the moment, I’m devastated. I’ve got to try and get over this and then try to move on next season.”

Wilshere’s cameos in Brazil offered only flashes of his quality, most obviously when he operated in a three-man midfield against Costa Rica in tandem with Barkley and Frank Lampard. That match had seen the Evertonian and Shaw handed their first competitive starts – albeit in a dead rubber as far as the group was concerned – with both impressing. “I think it went all right, ” said the Arsenal midfielder. “It wasn’t about me, it was about the team. In a game that doesn’t matter, it can be tough, it can be difficult, but I think we showed good things in patches. Going forward, we’ve got some good young players.

“Luke Shaw looked like he had played over 100 games for his country. He was just a natural. So there were some positives to take. It is a nice group of young players and hopefully we can stick together, learn from this tournament, take all this disappointment and bottle it up. This is the worst feeling. I won the FA Cup at the end of last season so I know what it’s like [to win something]. I was fresh from winning, so to then have this disappointment is not nice. We’ve got to bottle this feeling up and take it on.

“But what excuses are we going to use? We prepared well. We’re just disappointed. It’s all a bit raw. When we get back to England then we’ll wake up every day and think: ‘What if this? What if that?’ We’ll watch the three games over, see the positives we can take and try to get the negatives out of our game. As for me, pre-season is not far away. I’m going to have maybe a couple of weeks off, but I don’t want to lose my fitness.

“I’m going to carry on training, do my bit, because I only played two games in the last three or four months. I will go back [to Arsenal] early. They are going away [to New York] and I’m not sure I’m going on that, but I will definitely still do my little bit. My fitness is on the way up and I don’t want to lose that.”

Seems as if he knows what he needs to do and that he needs to buck up, get fit and start winning us points.

Turning point is Jacks career?

AKIE. Good post mate. I've been saying the same thing for ages on here as have a few other people. You will surely get a backlash from it as I did.
Jacks a good player we all know that. But he is not consistent enough to worry about. I feel that there are plenty of players out there that could do the job without half the problems Jack keeps having. The big question is how long does the club keep standing by Jack before enough is enough. I don't understand this fascination with Jack just because he is an Arsenal player. He really hasn't been up to much in the last few seasons. So I really have got to agree with you Akie.
But keep true to your opinions that's what it's all about, otherwise there is no point in being on this site.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post Akie.

What frustrates me with Jack (among other thongs) is that he doesn't seem to acknowledge the shortcomings of his game.

Game in, game out - literally every game I've seen him in he will pick the ball up in the opponents third and try a mazey dribble around three players. More often than not, hell beat the first player, but he eventually ends up losing the ball, him landing on his arse and the opposition counterattacking, leaving everyone else having to sprint back.

I think his best position, at this point of his career has to be the role in which Arteta currently occupies.

He's very capable with the ball at his feet, has good passing and vision and likes sticking his leg out - he's a better player than Arteta all round. He just needs to play it simple and stay disciplined. leave the dynamic stuff to Rambo and Ozil.

A season at that role and I think hell mature and improve in the other aspects of his game.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont think he is physically strong enough for that role AG..

If he gets back to basics and stays off twitter who knows there could be a happy ending still but for me I doubt very much Jack is capable of those two things over a long period of time.
Lack of March fitness certainly didn't help him in Brazil that's for sure but he did look out of his depth Even within a young England squad which is a worry.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post. For me I think JW needs to concentrate on his build as well as his fitness as he seems to go down from the slightest touch and I will get struck down from this also but he dives far to much, or appears as though he is.

That said if he can work on his fitness and has a relatively injury free season he can be a much needed player for us.

He has the potential and if he stays off the booze and cigs (not saying he uses either honest) I believe he could be as good as Rambo was last year.

I wasn't even aware who the backlash was coming from. Matter of fact I could not of cared less really its so unimportant to me. It's just a comment isn't it at the end of the day. It's no big deal really.

Risk of getting slaughtered

I'd have Suarez at Arsenal, no question.

Suarez in the red of Arsenal last season and we win the title

Totally agree,

Stick an Arsenal shirt on him and a doggy muzzle and a Hannibal Lectar mask and an asbo tag, so he can't go within 2 feet of another player, and equip him with GPS so we know where he is at all times, and I would take him any day.

Love him or hate him. Suarez is an awesome footballer. We would have loved him at Arsenal. The shame is we will never really know if he was genuinely available to us due to the stupidity of the bid that was put in.
I think if he had have become an Arsenal player they would have been erecting a statue of him next to Henry in years to come.

{Ed025's Note - maybe in the vampire hall of fame golds..

Ed, do you think Liverpool would have sold Suarez to Arsenal if Arsenal bid say 45 million rather than 40 million and 1? or was Liverpool against selling Suarez to us no matter the price?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - they would not have sold for anywhere near that mate, but now things may be different, i would like to see him banned for life and for liverpool to receive nothing..anything that screws liverpool over is ok by me..

Ed025. You know it's true mate.Teams would have give their 'eye tooth' for a player like him. Get it? :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i do golds unfortunately...come back dags, all is forgiven.. :)

Last season he was as good as anything I've ever seen in the Premier league truly world class but I never want him anywhere near an Arsenal shirt.
The first Evra incident where he was banned made me dislike him and the second where he refused to shake hands should me he was certainly not Arsenal material.
Then biting the Chelski bloke was probably the strangest thing I've ever seen an adult do, totally bizarre and now this?
Should be sectioned not sold

If Suarez had come to us it would have been for 2 years max before he engineered a move to Barca or Madrid, how could you even say he'd be worthy of a statue!!!

Easy I just said it. :)

Didn't John Henry admit that the £1 activated a clause in Suarez's contract, but gambled on Arsenal not taking him to court?

If this is the case, I don't see why people are so offended by the £1, and why we should have bid anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal could not have taken Liverpool to court - they had no contract with Liverpool.}

I don't think if he moves he would go to Arsenal. Despite his, well, temperament, I don't think he would go to another prem team. Besides, I want him to go to Barcelona and send Sanchez the other way. And since I want it, it has to happen right?

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez has a clause in his contract stating a move to a UK club then the fee will be 100 mill across to Europe and it is 70 mill

Spain is where he will go
