People are getting twitchy already but the window hasn't even opened yet although some deals are already done not many at all.
Niether of last season's top 2 Chelsea or Spurs have signed anyone yet while Everton and City have two new big signings while we Utd and Liverpool have 1 new player apiece.
Long long way to go and no one has done anything to make the rest stand up and " think they are really going for it " not us or anyone else.
Mind you city and a few others haven't been slow in making squad room available by letting quite a few go which could be seen as a sign of intent, maybe :-)

Gunner I don't think anything will be twitching on me for at least two years. I think we are going to do nothing new in this transfer window than we have before, flatter to deceive again and sign the best value left overs.

G62 - The window may be due to open shortly, but deals must be in place, ideally for pre-season. We have signed the new LB and need to sell Gibbs. We need to sort out the goalkeeping situation with reports of bids for Szczesny, Ospina and Martinez. We need to sell/ loan/ realease: Jenkinson, Debuchy and Campbell. We need to sort out the contracts of; Sanchez, Ozil, Ox and Wilshere. We need to consider the futures of Perez and Chambers We need to sign at least a couple more first team players. It's an awful lot to do.

Steve I think the club will try to show willing at least over the next couple of years, whether it will be enough to dramatically improve our competitiveness is a different argument.
Some fans have high hopes and they are the ones the club needs to keep happy and on side.
RG I think as someone pointed out yesterday Monreal will be playing on the left of a back 3 so Gibbs will be needed or a replacement for him, playing in a back 3 will extend Monreal and Kos careers by a couple of seasons as neither are spring chickens anymore.
Some will leave I'm pretty sure of that but who exactly only time will tell, Ox and Sanchez look likely at one end of the scale while Jenks and Debuchy at the other.

Hi Gunner62 - I think you will find that Arsenal are trying to sell Gibbs with a reported asking price of £15m. This may be problematic as Gibbs is reportedly on wages of £60,000 pw and wants £80,000 apparently! I believe, assuming we continue with 3 at the back, these will be selected from Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gabriel, Holding and possibly Chambers. Our wing backs could be Bellerin and Ox on the right, with Monreal and Kolasinac on the left. Both Monreal and Kolasinac can fill in the left CB role in a back three. However, I can't envisage us keeping three players for the left wing back/ cover at CN role and hence Gibbs looks likely to go.

Rumours of Sanchez exchanged for Aguero, which would be ideal, but highly unlikely to happen. However, if it were to happen, I believe we should also sign Lacazette, which would give us awesome attacking options. Of course in this scenario we would sell Giroud which would leave us approx £30m out of pocket for the deals, which wouldn't be too bad.
Assuming we sell Ospina £5m, Szczesny £10m and Martinez £5m, we could use the funds towards purchasing Jack Butland, who would probably cost at least the £30m Everton paid for Pickford. This would add another £10m to our spending. We also need a replacment for Cazorla, which could cost £25-50m, depending on who we sign. This would mean an outlay in the above model of somewhere in the region of £100m. To offset this we could recoup; Jenkinson £5m, Campbell £7m, Gibbs £10m, Debuchy £0, Perez £15m and Wilshere £15m - Total £52m. A net outlay of approx £50m isn't too bad in today's market. In reality, of course, the above won't happen, but Lacazette and Butland are possibilities.

Agureo to Arsenal? Fake news, not even close to being an alternative fact :-)

The bottom half of your post we are getting rid off good squad players just to get some cash back and bring in none, so that would leave us with a worse squad, not happening.

Jelly - 2 of the players were out on loan last season, 2 of them barely played and we have signed a new left back, Kolasinac, so Gibbs is surplus to requirements, we have Montreal as back up.

Cant see City even considering this although to me on paper both players have around the same sort of value if their contacts were on same length, so swap seems feasible in that terms. Yes Aguero is the better goal poacher but he is injury prone while Sanchez in the not the same sort of box player that Augero is but is physically tougher. If was offered this I would take I personally, especially if we got Laczette aswell would be a lot of goals in the side then.

Wenger has said time and again he sees Monreal playing as a LCB in a 3 man defence. Kolasinac and Gibbs are the only LB/ LWB players we have. There is no 'surplus to requirements' on the left side of defence.

Both fair points Ryan and 254.
In reality are city really going to let Agureo go if they don't need to?
Would Ageuro really swap champions league and a club who have a proven record of being premier league contenders for the Europa league and a club that hasn't been premier league competitive for over a decade?
Would Arsene really accept letting his always ready to pkay prize asset join city in exchange for a player who has struggled with fitness for lengthy periods?
This is a non story made up by a lazy journalist who fancied an easy Monday.
