Hope Roy has the bottle to stick with the younger players during Euro's, they won't win it but we won't win it with Rooney either, Rooney maybe the all time top scorer but let's be open about it almost all his goals have come in friendlies and against minors during qualifying games the only time he looked anything close to good enough was Euro 2004.

Rooney, walcott, milner, Carrick, jagyelka, and any other has been player who hasn't performed at major champs shouldn't go. If woy has any brains he will see there is a new generation of footballer coming through and he needs to take us down that root, whatever. I happen to disagree with you, i actually think we have players to win it, whether we actually do is another thing.

I think Raver, as a Spud, is so starved of success, regards an England friendly win as a victory for Spurs :-)

Still a lot to play for this season as we can still win it given the run ins of top teams
Looking at the first team for next season - we aren't a million miles away
20 Mar 2016 23:20:46
So next season
Cech
Build defence around Kos, so add an Adams type partner who can boss the shape and lead the back 4
Bellerin and Nacho are good fullbacks
Build midfield around Coq. Give him a solid partner who is big, strong and defensive minded.
Happy for Elneny to be squad player and fill in for Coq.
Attacking side of midfield - build around Ozil and give him fast, clever wingers with plenty of movement. Happy with Sanchez and happy for Theo, Wekbeck plus Iwobi to be in squad.
Need a killer striker up front to convert more of our chances
So - Centrehalf, CDM, Striker and Winger. Give us a new spine with a few more leaders
Move into Squad
Rambo, Santi, Gab, Giroud, Welbeck, Theo, Campbell
Sell
Arteta, Flamini, Per, Rosicky
Last chance
Gibbs, debuchy, Jack, Ox
Youth chance
Bring some of youngsters into squad.

How many seasons at this time of year has someone posted ( were not a mullion miles away :-) sorry SY :-)
So much depends on what Kos Belerin Mesut and Sanchez do as to what we do and what we need to do, if we lose 1 of those 4 we have our work cut out to improve but if we lose 2 I'd be inclined to accept a tough season ahead and rip it up and start again letting the likes of Olly Theo Mertesacker go too.

62 - no need for a sorry buddy.
I agree with you except that I feel given the games missed by the players listed, we can and should clear out Per etc to start building our next team. I am a Per fan but he is beginning to show his weaknesses and that seems to have stopped him leading the team. Where is the Per who told Ozil off?
Time to upgrade the team a bit but I am happy if Wenger does it as I think he is the best we can hope for and done wonders in the past.
Clearing the guys listed will not generate lots of funds but will free up wages plus squad positions.

Next season:
Keepers: Cech and a replacement for Ospina, if he leaves.
Full Backs: Debuchy and Gibbs to depart, so we need 2 replacements. I do not consider Chambers to be a RB any longer, at best he will become a CB, I will give him the benefit of the doubt as he is still very young, but I am not at all convinced by him.
Centre Backs: Replace Mertesacker, as you cannot play a slow CB in a team that often plays a high line, However, I do not expect this will happen with Wenger in charge,
Defensive Midfield: Coquelin and Elneny are quality. However my we need to sign a third option.
Wide midfield: We have Walcott and Campbell on the right and Sanchez and Iwobi for the left. I believe we will sell Ox, which is a shame, but he hasn't looked right all season.
Attack: I believe we may sign one player,
So to recap: We will sign a RB, DM and a striker, We may sign a keeper, a CB and a LB.
I expect a minimum of 3 signings, possibly four. Although I doubt any more than that, as Wenger will retain Mertesacker and Gibbs.

{Ed025's Note - it was not news to me SLB, i have told the faithful since last year he was leaving mate, to be fair to him he is young and ambitious and rightly feels let down by everton who promised him more, we will get a good wedge though and i hope he gets to realize his dreams and wish him well..

Clubs ditch existing players if better become available that's the nature of the game and being the best you can be so its only right it should work both ways.
Its a shame because Everton have some cracking young players who are already delivering on a regular basis in the premier league but they haven't progressed as a team to match the progression of Lukaku Stones Barkley and although some like Baines will wait forever most won't.
