Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

Kroenke: Özil is just the start.

Exciting times to be a gunner at the moment, first time in a while I have been able to look at our club and felt truly proud of our ambitions.

Lol how times change quick, actions speak louder than words, (we should know after our window this summer lol)
Ozil is a great player but a panic signing, u can dress it up how u want but simple fact is the Ozil signing was simply a ''get off my a$$'' signing by Wenger, I highly doubt he will now totally change the same philosophy he's had regarding transfers all of a sudden dnt u?
Come Jan u will get your new signing again in diaby and Wenger will announce how happy he is with the team and that this young group are moving in the right direction.
Sorry to pi$$ on your chips :-)
Having said all that I wouldn't mind a panic signing in the Ozil class :-D

Agree0 Disagree0

CTR it's not about going and blowing millions, but wenger acting on what he says, when players like Özil are available we will try to sign them.

This season has seen a massive change in the way we do our transfers, first we never lost any key players and then the signing of Özil, now all we need is a striker which hopefully we get in January.

Agree0 Disagree0

Other than a crocked wilshire who out of the top clubs would they of wanted?

Agree0 Disagree0

42.5 million pounds to get the fans off his back? I doubt it.

Wenger has never been worried about the fans on his back, he always says that he understands the fans frustrations because he feels it too as he's a fan and arsenal are in his heart. This wasn't a panic buy. This was a great buy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kos was linked with bayern and barca, cazorla, podolski and Sagna was all linked with moves away.
You might not rate them all as high as us, but for once we have a settled squad, were as the previous two seasons we have seen changes to our starting 11 from the first game.
Wilshere is still young and has had a couple of bad injury's granted, but he seems to be over the worse.

Agree0 Disagree0

CTR you can only live in hope mate, but if your wrong and I get the feeling that might not be a new thing for you then all is looking very good for us.

Oh and I doubt any one who's any one is watching Ramsey at all, even if he keeps up his current form.
Really look forward to hearing from you in jan but if we don't, happy new year mate

Agree0 Disagree0

So when barca offered 30+m for luiz why didn't they do the same with kos? Cazorla was linked to A Madrid, wot came of it? nothing it was all paper talk! Ramsey lol great start to the season yes but really after some of his performances last season no one came in for him did they?
Christ on a bike really who did u have that any1 was chasing honestly?

Agree0 Disagree0

CTR,

I think you have to take into consideration that most of our players have long term contracts. last financial review states that.

The only clubs bigger than Arsenal outside England are Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern.

Did these clubs need any of our players?

Koser was linked with bayern, he came out right away and said he is going to stay and that killed off any rumours.

we may not have players as good as the clubs I have named, but the potential to be the type of players they want is very real.

We have the best midfield in the EPL.

Cazorla, Ozil, Wilshere, Ramsey, Arteta, Flamini, Ox.

everyone knows we are short upfront. but i'm sure we will try improve that position or bring depth to that position.

i would rate mert and koser and top 4-5 defenders in the EPL, after Kompany, Nastasi, Vidic.

Gibbs is the 3rd best left back after baines and cole.

Sagna or Jenks are really underrated on the RB position.

our squad is not bad. its not littered with superstars like barcelona or Madrid, but if we had to play them we would give them a real fight. I would not fancy our chances mainly as our striker is not at that level.

have patience and support the team. it will happen. things are in motion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh Gibbs is a decent left back and I agree not many bigger clubs than arsenal outside england, in fact it could be argued only united are bigger in England.
I still think u have a very long way to go to compete on all fronts laker

Agree0 Disagree0

One step at a time man. i'm not getting ahead. we are well poised to be a very special team. just got to have patience. our youth seem to come out more often from the reserves now with Gnabry showing potential, we still have zelalem and Dan crowley. the future is not too bad either.

Sure Manchester United is bigger due to the success. but its like liverpool were bigger at one point. its all about the next big thing. and while Manchester United can never be discounted, I think there are some real hard times to come.

Look how difficult it is for liverpool. or even spurs. we have over achieved with what we had if anything. I will reserve the judgement of the team until we play the big teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice post laker

When other managers give up on you, you're dead to them

Look at Ade at Spuds

Now consider the man Wenger is for repeatedly sticking by his guys

I know we are short on numbers and tried to sell him, but he could have banished Bendtner, instead is giving him a real shot to succeed again

For the sake of the type of manager Wenger is, old school: you stick by your guys always, I hope Bendtner comes good

He needed that extra gear, and I always thought it was mental. If he can play with pure intensity for 60-70 min a match, technically he's far above most guys his size

If you remember, we played him as a winger and he was pretty good in patches.

Hopefully he has matured and is ready to take this, his last chance. For Wenger's sake as well, as a just reward for sticking by Nick through thick and thin

Believable0 Unbelievable0

US Gooner,

Completely agree. Just look at the headache going on at Chelsea with Mourinho and Mata! I can't believe people wanted us to axe Wenger and bring in Mourinho!

Wenger shows loyalty to his players, too bad they do not return the favour.

(*cough* RVP *cough* Nasri *cough*)

Here's to hoping NB23 can come good and contribute this season.

Cheers,
Trinidad-Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Ade has lost his interest in football and became too greedy.
That's one of Wenger sticking with dross way too often for way too long.
Almunia, Bendtner, Denilson.
And if you think that suddenly Bendtner turned into Henry you have really short memory.
Let me give you a reality check and a short description of TGSTEL:
-Slow
-Poor finishing
-Dribbling non egsistant
-Poor movement in the box
-Not great at heading
-Arrogant person who doesn't care about anyone else but himself.
I can honestly say that Heskey is Maradona for Bendtner.
Ah and just when you thought you have no deadwood.
The only way gooners remember all his skills and gameplay is Wenger to let him start two or three games - which I hope never happens.

Agree0 Disagree0

OK MKD
You make some very fair and accurate points and give a decent summary of his his game but in the interest of balance you have to admit that apart from that he's brilliant!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree managers have a job to do but doing a mouriniho or avb and treating them with utter content is bad and wrong and for this I salute Wenger, however I do think the shooting at the cup of nations involving the team coach mite have had a part to play in ade mind these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough mate :))

santi will definitely be back in 2 weeks, oct 6th I think. can't wait. santi, mesut, jack, aaron, theo and olly. lovely jubbly

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Santi, jack and Ozil can be swapped.

ramsey Arteta and flamini can be swapped

walcott, ox and gnabry can be swapped

verm, sagna, kos, mert can be swapped

jenks / sagna and gibbs / monreal

scz/viv/fab

only position is upfront. poldi is out and giroud is our only hope.

as much as bendtner is an assurance he is not going to score us big points like the big man.

GoonerMKD I understand your frustrations with Big Nik he has certainly rubbed many gooners the wrong way.

All I will say in his defence is that some of that "laziness" that you saw last night was down to not being match fit, as he has just come off of injury.

Also, of those 150 appearances that he has made, how many of them has he played ST through the middle? I remember Wenger deploying him out on the LW as a substitute for Arshavin most of the time.

For me the most important question is this: can he help up win? I think the answer is yes once he gets his fitness and some confidence back. If you see him play for Denmark he can be a real handful for defenders.

I would certainly rather Demba Ba or Fernando Torres but until at least January we must stick with NB23!

Ed, your thoughts?

All the best,
Trinidad-Gooner

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Your right TG while he is an Arsenal player we have to support him even if we don't like hi. Again as you rightly point out for Denmark he does well in big tournaments too but I think his arrogance has done him no good at all.

Maybe he should try a bit of humility and admit he made a part of himself with all the self proclaimed greatness let's football do the talking and who knows? Maybe all will see why he always had such a high opinion of himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner definitely has the talent to play Giroud's role. He is extremely similar to Giroud. Hopefully, he will have matured and realised that he is playing for his career at he top level. He failed at Juventus and his offers were from the likes of Hull & Crystal Palace. My main concern that he needs to play regularly to get mtch fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gunner62,

Totally agree if he showed some humility and would just shut up and played football then I think he would get a lot of fans on his side because the lad can play.

I had a question about the so called "self proclamation" that he was The Greatest Striker That Ever Lived (TGSTEL lol):

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did he actually say that about himself? Because I think he was saying that he wanted to be the best striker in the world, not that he was already the best.

Cheers,
Trinidad-Gooner

What NB23 actually said;

'If you ask me if I am one of the best strikers in the world, I say yes because I believe it. When I see that other strikers score a lot of goals, I realise I need to score those goals. But I think everything else in my game is right. Even if I believe I can still improve. But the goals are the last thing I need to add and when I do I believe I will be the player I want to be. One of the best.'

He will prove as much, he says, next season. 'Remember, I spent a lot of time playing on the right wing here at Arsenal. Then I had my accident. But since I've been back, and I've been playing up front, I've started to find my balance.
'I'm sure it will be shown that I am one of the best.'

He also went on to say that he changed to NB52 after Eduardo refused to let him have the No9 and after a discussion with a girlfriend, it was nothing to do with £52,000.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi TG

I think he said he was going to be worlds best and a lot of other stuff about himself. Then after a few more poor performances Paul Merson said it about him to point out how poor he was.
I still think the one that sums him up perfectly is about 5years ago during a boot signing with Betner and rvp the dutch bloke was asked of his hopes for the future and he replied " I hope to one day be the player he already thinks he is". One let the football do the taking then left and the other we have had trouble giving away

Agree0 Disagree0

Stoner,

Thanks for clearing that up. I wonder why he decided to change his number? Maybe a sign of a changed person with a smaller ego? Let's hope so lol.

Cheers,
Trinidad-Gooner

TG
I'm not really bothered about what he said for Arsenal "He would never play", blah blah.
Fit or unfit he always looks the same, he always plays the same, in other words he is sh!t fit or unfit. But yet somehow you all seem to have forgotten and for some strange reason expect him to shine.

He was played RW I think and of course he didn't change my opinion.
On the question can he help us my answer is
of course he can't. He just don't offer any qualities, in fact i'm not even sure he has any.
Maybe he can be at use in Hull, Palace or Stoke but not at Arsenal mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol stoner i'd love to live in ure world, tell the tin man I said high and will pop and see him once I get my cupboard fixed, damn where a good fairy god parent when u need one?
Of corse he wanted 52 on his back he always has rated himself very high although I must admit I think he is a hell of a lot better than he has shown over recent years!

Walcotts surgery went well in germany and is coming back to England today. Hopefully not out for too long. Just after the internationals will be great.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Walcott should be fit for the double header england qualifier, however he will not participate right after surgery. he will start training in 3 days. which means he will be fine for when we return from international break.

Bellerin looked a tidy wee player when he came on last night. Jenks and him will have the RB spot nailed down for years!

Does anyone know why Frimpong wasnt in last nights squad?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Have you seen frimmy play?

hes more dench when he can't make the bench.

i like him as a twitter entertainer but not arsenal player.

Eisfeld was poor all game until bentdner gave him a pass on a silver platter.

I don't think he will make the cut at arsenal. however this is his last year to either make the grade or move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can only think its an attitude thing with frimpong as what little I seen of him he has a lot of the P word we all sick of hearing when connected with us. I thought he was going to break through a couple of years ago but maybe he put took much effort into Twitter and not enough into his game

Agree0 Disagree0

Cuz he's a pile of junk maybe? More interested in image than football maybe?
Now that's DENCH!
